✓ TerribleThe old app. had it’s problems but the current version is simply appalling. The layout is far more messy, it’s become far more difficult to find historic stats (& cricket fans love a historical stat!) and, worst of all, all of the links from articles lead you to the same single article, no matter which you choose. ✓ Horrible user experienceThis applies to the website as much as to the app. It's difficult to impossible to find content that is current or relevant. There appears to be no real structure or organization in place. One clear example is the recent Ranji Trophy semifinals. I couldn't find any article or scorecard for the matches no matter how much I scrolled. There were seemingly hundreds of other articles about other series/matches. ✓ Shadow of its former selfThis app used to be perfect. It wouldn’t crash. It offered everything you needed. You could see players’ stats. Now it appears that in the quest for unnecessary complexity the app’s lost a lot of the basic functionality that made it so good. I can’t remember the last time I opened it and it worked first time. Taking away accessibility to individual players’ stats was a terrible decision. Cricket fans by nature love their stats. They’re one of the most important parts of our sport. Fix the bugs and bring back player stats and you have a good app again..Version: 6.31
✓ Horrible new designI liked this app, but now it's completely useless. Better use Google to find out the scores. The new format doesn't have any advantage over old, just lots of disadvantages. I lost my favourite players and their stats. The records are gone too. And it's cumbersome. It's baffling what the hell were they thinking. ✓ Fall from graceThis app used to be excellent, now it is just good. Starting the app with a Bet365 advert is terrible. Then it's almost impossible to find anything if it's not on the home screen and you can't easily see the full scorecard like you used (by rotating phone to landscape). You try and look for filters and it leads you away to a web page that isn't mobile friendly. The ads take up tooicj space and the whole app just froze on me. Now I’m so fed up with too many ads across the app. You can’t even read an article without being bombarded with pointless ads. The end of an article ads are also very annoying. ✓ Ads pop up by themselves - Shame on you Disney.Just by scrolling past an ad banner, the ad opens by itself. Surely they are racking in tons of ad revenue from the innocent users. It almost seems wrong in this case as they forcefully direct the user to the full page ad even though they have not clicked on this. Also the UI in the way it’s being done and set up seems so cheap. Disney and ESPN have had great standards over the years, although by some random decision to earn pennies on the ads has been prioritized over the customer experience. I hope this cheapness is stopped and they also bring back the ability to view last 10 innings performance of a player. The desktop version has it so not sure why the mobile does not. The ads pop up and take up the entire screen and many a times have served ads that won’t even let me get out of the full screen ads. They have served spam and malicious ads too. ✓ Good, but too many notificationsI use it for notification of county scores but am inundated with news alerts and England scores that I’m not interested in. ✓ Cricinfo good not the app.App does. Ot provide intuitive visual and ease of use as actual website bit then that. Ot deal breaker. My major use of app was to see ball bu ball commentary and scores. In fist Ind vs aus odi in Sydney app keep popping up some spam windows stating that you won $1000 within seconds of opening score link. I tried at least 20 time. ✓ Very good but could be betterI do like this app but could I offer some suggestions? I use it on an iPad but for some reason it is not able to be used in landscape mode. Please fix this. ✓ What have you done!Complete rubbish. Can’t search for players. Can’t see players recent performances. All the best parts of the old version have been removed. It is simply staggering. Why are there 5 star reviews from six years ago posted next to all the 1 star reviews from more recently. Your current version is rubbish, so old reviews from previous versions are irrelevant. Want to use your device in landscape mode, like you used to? Sorry, you can’t do that anymore, the app only works in portrait. Want to see live scores? I guess you still can, but a lot of the information that was previously available through live scores on the app, such as the player’s career live stats in the format, can no longer be viewed. Just to be clear, Cricinfo still has those stats; they are running on live scores on the website, but you can’t view them in the app anymore. ✓ Version 7.1.2 and 7.1.3 are broken.Since 7.1.2 version was released a week ago, unable to use the app. It keeps switching to different screens automatically. The interface is excellent with easy movement between sub sections. Heaps of good info, videos and blog links. ✓ Best cricket app ruined by ad refreshesI’m a long term user of cricket info - we’ll before espn acquired, and cannot fault the data/stats/comprehensive coverage. My issue now is the refresh in the live commentary now makes it completely impossible to catch up on any of the past comments - as soon as you get 2-3 lines read, it refreshes, which is ok given it’s a live feed, but then the ad pops up, resizes about 3 times and jumps the text all over the place, and you’re at a completely different point to where you were reading, before it does it all again. Can the ads be taken out of the text feed, or at least be able to turn off the auto refresh / set to a longer time?.Version: 7.1.6

✓ Great content but the app is frustratingThe latest app is frustrating especially on iOS. It keeps refreshing every couple of seconds and if you use the “back” button, it takes you to the top of the page rather than the exact previous location. Every time the app is updated, it makes the user experience worse. Something for the app developers to ponder about!! Also, the feature in which it redirects to the other page it just a waste because if thats the case you don’t need an app, you can simply go the google page and look up whatever you want. In the previous one, you were able to look up the last 10 innings of that player and this one no chance. I was a big fan of this app, used all my life and now its simply a waste. I don’t know how and why ESPN misses this kind of quality, the fonts are too small and doesn’t have option in settings to change font size. However a lot could be done to make the app better: 1) when i receive a notification and I decide to press it, I do expect to be taken to the page the notification is referring to. This is significantly irritating and just a case of faulty coding. 2) there is a lot on ESPNcricinfo the website that isn’t on the app; this is highly disappointing. They should have one segment for all those other teams (U18, womens cricket, domestic, associates etc) and build the rest of the app around Mens International Cricket: Test, ODI, T20. So you can easily see past matches, live matches and future matches easily for just the top international cricket playing nations. It was so much better before ESPN took over. ✓ Cricinfo clearly doesn’t care about its appCricinfo used to be the best cricket resource in the world. Over the past few years, though, the quality of the app has deteriorated considerably. It’s become so bad I’ve downloaded Cricbuzz. While that doesn’t have the same level of information that Cricinfo does, at least it works… Here are a bunch of things I’d like to see in future updates of the Cricinfo app: - Please fix the home screen widget. This hasn’t worked for months now. The home screen widget simply displays: “Please check internet connectivity” regardless of which match you select. - Please fix the Apple Watch app. Again, this hasn’t worked for months now. The news seems to work ok, but the scores simply has a loading wheel that goes round and round. - Please introduce Live Activities for iOS. It would be incredibly useful to have the current score of ongoing games on the lock screen. - Please allow people to set their preferences to see the kind of cricket scores they’re most interested in, rather than a dump of all the first-class games that are currently ongoing. For example, I’d like to see international cricket scores — ideally England first (both men and women) — and then county cricket. I really don’t care about any of the domestic competitions or franchise cricket happening elsewhere round the world..Version: 7.2.2

✓ Update has made app worseThe new look app is very annoying. I get to have a look at one match snd then can't come 'BACK' to the screen which shows the scores of all matches being played. The BACK button doesnt allow to go back after which I have to restart or delete the app and reload. A perfectly working app whose primary objective was to provide cricket scores is just unable to that basic function anymore. I have temporarily deleted the app, though, as it is sending notifications for games I didn’t request and have no interest in. ✓ Could be so much betterI’m quite surprised espn has made such a sub standard clunky app. Navigation is quite poor and clearly no user experience/functionality has been considered . It is so hard to navigate to current series especially games in the T20 World Cup even after you click on the link. App is pretty slow overall too. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
