✓ Completely and Totally UselessDownloaded the app and Deleted within 5 minutes. Complete waste of time. You get pages with 'topics'; when you click on any of them you are presented with a complete BLANK page. If you click what seems to me to be the 'settings' logo, the app 'closes down, taking you to the home icons screen. I have downloaded many other Catholic & Christian apps, Rosary, Prayers etc, but this one is a complete waste of time, I'm afraid. I gave 1* thinking my comment might not be loaded otherwise..Version: 1.0

✓ Used to work fine, now won’t openWhen I click pray, and go to liturgy of the hours, it gives me a blank white screen now since the update. I closed the app down completely and reopened many times but it does the same thing (blank screen for liturgy of the hours) no matter what I do. I’m writing the review only so that you know there are problems with this update and will fix it. ✓ Potentially great, but UI is far from intuitive.I really wanted to like this app, and I really appreciate the time the developer must have put into it, but the user interface is just not at all intuitive. I’m not a technophobe, and I’ve used many interfaces comfortably, but this was just confusing from the moment I opened it. When I eventually found the actual breviary I got stuck on the page because there was no interface to select a way out. I eventually double tapped at the top of the screen, which revealed the hidden UI. It looks like all the parts are there, it just needs someone to do some serious user testing and develop an interface that people just get, without having to be shown how to use it. Instructions shouldn’t be necessary today, as user interfaces have established some fairly universal symbols and layouts that all users are familiar with..Version: 6.6.10
✓ Tech difficulties after newest updateMy app keeps displaying a blank white page if i try and launch without a good internet connection . Even other friends with iphones dont seem to have this problem but when i do it doesnt clear up with a better connection- i keep having to delete and download again. ✓ Too Many Notifications — Sad to GoI have been using IBreviary for nearly 15 years. It’s an incredibly helpful prayer companion, with great features like downloading readings for a week and having access to the hours and many other prayers. That being said, I’m incredibly frustrated by the incessant notifications and the inability to silence them. Keeping notifications that will only be silenced after making a donation reads like a dark pattern in the app’s design. It feels strange to think that after many years, I’m likely going to switch to a different prayer app literally just because I can’t silence the notifications. But I hope they fix this because I loved this app!.Version: 8.0.1
✓ 7.0. Don’t upgrade7.0 is not as good. [First off, I’m a frequent user of this app when traveling or when my physical breviary is not at hand and thus I am grateful for this app. Thank you.] Now to practicals, The auto scroll is not smooth when you scroll back. The layout of menus makes it harder to get back to the Home Screen menu. Dark mode isn’t optimized well enough. The jump ahead options are barely readable in the color chosen. And there’s no global dark mode, just the readings so your eyes are blinded by the white home screen before you go to the readings in dark mode of you are praying in the dark or only by candle light at night or early in the morning. Overall, the last version was just fine (bedsides all the pop up ads to give). If 7.1 fixes these, then ok. But right now, 7.0, don’t upgrade..Version: 7.0.0
✓ Misses the markI was excited to have another option for audio playback for the liturgy of the hours, but the computerized voice is very robotic. ✓ Terrible LayoutVery confusing and worthless layout. The help is confusing and intimidating. There are funny symbols everywhere and they don’t tell you what they are. The layout of the readings themselves are so separate but still together in such a way that it is confusing to try to figure out how they want you to move through the readings. Example: They put the readings for three different times all together under the same tab and only have one verse separated and labeled for each time when everyone else has entire sections and paragraphs for each time..Version: 7.1.0
✓ Horrible new interface and ridiculous amount of laggingI’ve been using this app for 4 years and it was my favorite Catholic app. It was clean and super easy to navigate. Now with this new update the app is super slow in response, my favorite font is gone and it’s so many extra steps to get to certain prayers. Before if I wanted to read the angelus it instantly came up now it’s loading to find it. It quite literally will take 10 sec for the app to recognize I typed “Ang” . I love y’all so much because you’ve helped me improve my prayer life. But now I feel like my app is running on dial up. Hopefully y’all can fix it.Version: 7.0.0
✓ I love the app, but….I’ve been using the app for years. The old version worked like a gem and was gold. I’ve gotten used to the new app (there is some millennial frustration with the fact that the hours portion of the app seems to take slower to open than the readings portion but whatever). ✓ Decent -I've been using ibreviary since its inception, first on an iPod touch more than five years ago. It's never perfect, but it has been very well done. I asked the to stop changing the breviary to add "inclusive" language some time ago. They did for a while, but it has returned. I think they're a little too interested in pushing their agenda through the app. #22 of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy says: Therefore no other person, even if he be a priest, may add, remove, or change anything in the liturgy on his own authority. And yet, he persists. It’s also become slower and harder to use. Today, I couldn’t even scroll through options. I blamed the phone but after closing all apps and restarting the phone, it’s still not just slow but nearly unresponsive..Version: 7.2.0

✓ App IssuesThe previous app was far better than this new app. The liturgy of the hours takes a very long time to load. When auto scroll is enabled, the page stutters when you try to manually move it. That never happened with the previous app. Also, after Night Prayer, I return to the “Pray” page. ✓ Was great now just okayI have used this app for many years. I never had a problem. Then came the update. Now because of the slow loading of the Liturgy of the Hours it is not as prayerful and makes it difficult to pray with others. Any time you return to the Home Screen there is a delay on returning to the Liturgy of the Hours. It’s as if the whole program is reloading even though it has already been downloaded. ✓ Still unreliable for French Divine OfficeRecent updates have not fixed the problem of wrong (French) texts slipping in at various dates. This is a real shame, because this is a beautiful, handy app. Fortunately, there is a web app by AELF that provides accurate texts in a mobile format, and that's what I am using now. ✓ AdvertisingThe app works fine and is very useful. But, especially recently, it has been constantly using pop ups to push us to donate to various causes. If it were just once a week it would be tolerable. But now it’s pretty much every time I use the app. We have advertising shoved down our throats all day everyday. It’s beyond annoying to have it pushed on me even in my prayer life. I’ve donated to iBreviary, but still I get popups. No thanks. Recently after a few days or a week or two, when I open it, it shows no day information, and when I click on Liturgy of the hours or another item menu, it is completely blank. ✓ Fantastic appI love thus app especially when traveling. I always have my breviary with me and an emergency ritual as well. And I appreciate having texts available in different languages, especially Latin and Italian. However, I have a problem with the latest update. ✓ New Update Is TerribleI have been using this app for years and there have been many updates that improved this app a lot over time… (such as swipe gestures, true black dark mode, fluid text scrolling etc.) but the latest update is a real big step backwards… it’s almost unusable on iPhone now. All the features I just listed are now removed along with no home button (meaning if your in a specific hour of the breviary, you now have to click you way back to the menu by hitting back multiple times) and no was to exit a particular hour without exiting full screen mode then clicking back 3 or 4 times). The design is not as clean and the navigation is much more difficult. The slide screen option to get home or to another prayer was so wonderful! ✓ Franciscan feastsThe breviary first week three 31st week in ordinary time was all wrong on Monday and Friday at least! It would be great if more Franciscan Feasts were available besides the Feast of St Francis. I would love to pray the Feast for Our Lady of Angels (August 2nd)but you don’t offer it as an option with the two other saints for that day..Version: 6.6.10
✓ Unfortunate UpgradeThe upgrade was not an improvement in any way from the previous version. It seems more difficult now to navigate the app and there is still not a way to mark which hours you have already prayed. All of my notes in the “My Spiritual Book” section were deleted when I upgraded. I only saw the notification about downloading all your notes after I upgraded.
