✓ Spanish problemI am a Catholic missionary and work in Mexico. I love this app for personal prayer but I am always disappointed with the Spanish version of the app. It is Spain Spanish , which is great for Spain but in Latin America, they don’t use the Vosotros tense so when I try to read something to someone when I don’t have my Spanish bible on me, people struggle to understand because the tense is so different. ✓ Very handy!This app is so handy to have compared to carrying around the physical books. Fortunately, I have never had any crash issues (I have the IPhone SE). I do not know for other languages, but I was under the impression the church read the same readings. I did not know the Spanish ones were different. Ça m'aide beaucoup à faire mes laudes :) Mais il y a quand même "souvent" des bogues, des erreurs dans la liturgie ou carrément l'absence de certain textes après le chargement. C'est dommage! J'adore aussi qu'on puisse avoir la liturgie en audio! Mais il faudrait vraaaaaiment améliorer cette fonctionnalité: donner le temps des répéter les réponds, faire des pauses entre les psaumes et surtout, éviter de lire les chiffres des versets xD Parce qu'entendre "deux grâce au Père qui fit le monde trois de ses mains" c'est marrant mais un peu exaspérant haha! ✓ Poor formatting for iPhone SEGreat app, but not optimized for all phones. On iPhone SE, multiple sections won’t display text properly formatted (text cuts off on right side of screen hiding a few letters) and other sections have no “back” button. The only way to get back to the main screen is to shut down the app and reopen it. Hopefully these bugs can be fixed and the app made that much better!.Version: 6.6.2

✓ A Must Have AppI am a college seminarian, and part of our formation is praying the Liturgy of the Hours. This app makes it so much easier to do so when I’m on the go. I also have easy access to the proper prayers for the day, and the entire text of the Mass. As if all this wasn’t enough, this app includes various rites for priests to use and prayers for everyone to say, regardless of their state in life. There is only one issue that I noticed. I am in formation for the Franciscans, who have their own breviary with special prayers for feasts like the Feast of St. Francis. The Franciscan Hours is not an option on this app, and is something I would love to see added in a future update..Version: 6.6.7

He has been showing himself to me through prayer, and these prayers really help when I don’t know what to say. Being not the best impromptu communicator, I am filled with gratitude in my heart for the service you’ve provided here. God truly heals all diseases and all sorrows. Loving Him is the perfection of our faith and these prayers really communicate who he is, and the app is faithful to the real breviary so I believe. ✓ Only app that matches text in Christian PrayerThe text/translations in Laudate and Universalis are different from those in the Christian Prayer book. IBreviary matches it exactly. If you pray the Office with others or just want to be praying the same things as the book you should use iBreviary. ✓ Great AppHonestly, I don’t even care if the app has a few bugs, it gets 5 stars for the Saint of a guy who put it together so you have access to so much stuff in the Catholic life (Liturgy of the Hours AND Mass readings for the day) for free. I’m disappointed with the new update though—it does not appear or feel as prayerful as it used to. I find it distracting to have to time at the top of the screen even in full-screen mode. ✓ There are some glaring errors, but still good in a clinchAs I pray the breviary (the 4-volume set) daily, I have a lot memorized. So, when I pray iBreviary on my iPad, I notice the errors. First, I want to say that this app is really quite good, and if you’re in a sudden need to pray the Hours, but you don’t have the printed books handy, this one fills in very, very well. I really do like it. That being said, there are the occasional mistakes, but that comes with human error. No one is perfect. But, my biggest issue with iBreviary is the “Office of the Dead.” I pray the morning and evening prayer every single day for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. And I have noticed a problem that keeps jumping out at me. So, I must let someone know, somehow. The “Eastertide” notations in parenthesis are wrong. Not just a little wrong, but very wrong. It would take a lot to explain everything, but simply adding the, “Alleluia,” to the end of antiphons in this case, just doesn’t work. I’m hoping the developers will read this review and make the corrections..Version: 6.6.5

✓ Can’t read through entire mass celebration at onceThis app is really handy to have for all the daily readings and prayers. However, my only gripe is that there isn’t a way to see all the readings, creeds, and rites for the whole mass celebration. You have to go back and forth from many different tabs. ✓ Still Have Display and Other Issues on iPad Pro iOS 11I’ve been using the app for years, primarily on an old iPad 2 and sometimes on an iPhone. I got a new iPad Pro with iOS 11 and the display in portrait mode does not work. The text is pushed to the left using about a third of the screen. I as hoping today’s update would fix this but it has not. In landscape mode, the text options panel disappears completely. The links started working in the last release but are not working in this one. The links in book mode do not work. I tried to use the email link for support but the app crashed. ✓ Still Good But Was BetterThis is still a good app. I still find the texts accurate for both the breviary as well as mass. I have no problems with downloading rapidly. What has gone downhill is that it no longer offers the proper texts at all for any of the orders listed in the app description. You used to be able to select an order & see all the dates with proper texts. The various propers slowly disappeared one by one. I would like to see the propers back, but overall still a solid app. I am concerned it will stop working at some point because it was last updated 2 years ago to work with iOS 10, which is pretty outdated..Version: 6.6.10

Set aside your frustration and then…delete it from your device & reload it. I had the same trouble others are experiencing. It is NOT the application, “iBreviary”.
