✓ I love this app, But...!This has the potential to be a great app. It’s all I use to track my score and is very accurate when comparing to expensive range finders. The bad right now is it won’t save my game and finish. Every time I look to see the time after a game, there’s the app. I have to reboot my watch to get it to go away. Please! Please! Please Ping, find someone who can finish this app and get rid of the bugs!!! Thank you for the response! Looking forward to it!!! Is this app supported anymore? Crashed and can not get to work anymore. After selecting “Play Golf”, it just sits at “Getting your location...” When it works, it’s the best app. Also when playing the 9 hole course it freaks out and then the second nine gives me a huge amount to the next hole. ✓ Great app, cradle now available in the UK!!!I have just picked up my iPing cradle which has been available since the 25th of July here in the UK. My first session came up with a PHcp of 2.1. I've been practising a lot with a gate recently and all 5 putts when straight through it. My second session was a PHcp of 10 and I hit the gate on two of the 5 putts. I could see straight away from the result that my swing arc was inconsistent on the second session..Version: 1.0

✓ Very powerful toolVery impressive app for analysing your putter stroke consistency. I changed my usual putter style to test how accurate the measurements are –works perfectly. Every change I made was reflected in the measurements taken. I need to purchase a new putter, so will look forward to when they update the app with putter fitting from the measurements taken with this app. I rigged an old case to the putter shaft with Velcro to see how it works, before splashing out for the cradle. Don’t bother doing this, just purchase the cradle (it’s cheap enough really). That way you can allow friends to use it also.. my golf mates are very impressed with it! 5/5 easy – I’d happily pay for an app this good!.Version: 1.0

✓ Stand corrected. Works for 4s!After an email to Ping customer support, I figured out my problem and now it works awesome for my 4s!! Here was their advice to me, and it worked: · Make sure you are hitting golf balls when you putt (not just taking practice strokes) · Go to the user section and on your “user card” hit edit. Make sure the dexterity is properly selected. · Make sure you are putting about 10 ft putts. · Take have someone look at your putting stroke from behind to see if the bottom sole of your putter sits such that the toe is way up in the air (a little up is not a problem). If so, try moving your hands away from your body to flatten the sole more on the ground and take putts. · Do you “float” the putter off of the ground before the putt? If so, try making sure the putter stays stationary the instant prior to the start of the backstroke..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Works greatAfter reading other reviews I downloaded the app first to see if it would work before buying the holder. The App did not work at first, I had to re calibrate it after the first time and it started working like a charm and sometimes when you first start I hit the sound button to wake it up. I contacted ping on the app not working and they said its not a common problem so just mess around with the settings and re calibrate. it does work awesome I love the info! If ping is reading this it would be awesome to incorporate what color dot putter you need off the info, take that to a fitter to double check, and sometimes not every ball that gets hit registers..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Hacker-in-NCI have the 4S & it works GR8!! You have to have acceleration on your follow through for it to register, as you should on ANY PUTT!! For anyone having a problem w/4S: Put the bracket just below your putter grip, make your backstroke & FOLLOW through w/your putt. I found this put through trial & error. It has helped my putting by just doing that & has helped in ALL other areas to get a consistent stroke!! If you do NOT follow through it will NOT register!! THANKS PING for HELPING my putting!! ✓ WFCThis App makes excellent use of the phone's technology. It's a great way to find a putter that really fits you as opposed to whatever looks or feels good at the moment. You don't have to buy a Ping putter to use it. Just examine its Ping recommendation and go with the shaft length, lie angle, amount of offset and where the shaft enters the clubhead and buy the brand of your choice. ✓ Best putting aid everPaying for 35 years, a six handicap, a 2 through the tee, a 10 on the green. I just won my State Association net tournament, MI, putting on slick devilish greens. I made more putts over 10 feet in two days than I usually make in 2 months! Found this app Myrtle Beach in august during the World Net Amateur championship. Started putting better with just a little practice. After 3 weeks, I am trying to make 30 footers on championship greens. The rare detractor doesn't understand how important consistency is to putting. Put a string down if you can't see the line. You can practice anywhere! Course, carpet, driveway. Once you get a consistent tempo and stroke mechanics, hitting your line is almost automatic. You van read breaks because your distance control is better. If you want to improve your putting and have been frustrated, you must add this app to your practice arsenal..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Useful but not perfectI'm using this with an iPhone 4S and the problem is that sometimes it simply does not register a putt, even when well struck. It's designed to measure the stroke of a 10 foot putt but to get it to register reliably I have to hit it hard enough to go at least 20 feet if not more. A second issue is that it changes the weight and balance of your putter simply by being there. Obviously there's no way around this but you're not measuring your true stroke you're measuring your stroke with your phone on your putter. The lighter the putter the more of a difference this makes, of course. I've tried it with several different putters and it's most pronounced on a Cameron Newport which is a light putter and it feels completely different with the phone strapped onto it. It's also the putter that is most difficult to register putts with. Still despite the shortcomings (and presumably the registration issue can be addressed) I find it useful. I'm a nine handicap and pretty reliable from inside 10 feet, but I don't doubt that this can make me a better putter. I look forward to an update that improves the putt detection..Version: 1.2

✓ Great app.I too had initial difficulty with this app and an iPhone 4S. I believe it was all operator error as now I get successful readings on about 98% of my strokes with it. Work on your tempo and all should be well. Yeah, $30 is a bit high for a piece of plastic, but once you have it you're not going to want to sell if for $50 bucks. Guaranteed!!!!.Version: 1.2
✓ IncredibleI taped it to my putter to see if it would work before buying the holder. I was verry impressed. It told me i had a strong arcing stroke but i didnt believe it. Tried the holder on all my putters, it always said Strong Arc. I had always missed putts by half a ball width and was three and four putting. Well i trusted it and bought a Ping Anser putter made for a strong arc. I am now sinking amazing putts. Down to lots of one putts and rest two putts. It is magic. I swear i cannot thank Ping enough for saving my game and bringing fun into the game instead of moan after moan, green after green. Excellent..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Works for meI have read a few of the reviews that said the latest version of this app doesn't register putts. I risked it anyway, and went to pick up a cradle so I could give this app a shot. When I first set it up, it seemed as though all the negative reviews I read were true…then I turned off the music on my iPhone, and it's working just fine. My students are putting better already and the data reinforces what we work on. Knowledge is power! Please bring back the finer details (height/wrist to floor/style) for putter fittings. I don't use the full swing data, but players must understand that this info is for motivation and guidance. ✓ Great app but issue with cradleTha app itself is excellent and provides much needed and valuable information on your stroke. There is however two issues for me with the cradle. 1. If you have cut your putter down by a few inches as i have the shafts circumference is now slightly smaller and the cradle therefore does not fit as tightly as it should do. 2. Sliding the iphone into the cradle bubbled up and ruined my zagg invisible shield screen protector - £10 down the drain! ✓ Great App!I have had the app on both an iPod Touch 4th Gen and now my iPhone 5 and the app works great. Some times if I impact the golf ball too low on the face or with too soft of a putting stroke it may miss a putt, but it records 99% of all putts I take with either device. I have a lot of friends that have the app on an iPhone 4S and it works great for all of them. For those that are having issues try to recalibrate your device and it should solve any issues you may have..Version: 1.2.5

✓ Awesome App!Not sure what the issue is with people saying it doesn't work well with the 4s? Works perfect! Maybe they aren't placing it higher towards the grip? Not sure - but every putt is registered. I'm looking forward to seeing more people I play with on it so we can have more to banter about! I like the consistency component of the program best. I am a pretty good player, but know that I need to make more cleaner consistent strokes - this will actually measure it! ✓ Works great on the iPod Touch - not so much the iPhone 4SI am a big fan of this app. It is a great tool for helping develop more consistency in the putting stroke. I originally used this with a iPod Touch and had no issues. I just bought an iPhone 4S (64GB AT&T) and purchased a new iPing cradle for it. with this set up there has been a significant issue with the application registering the stroke. That is to say, I will make a solid strike but the app will not pick it up (no ping sound - no recording of the stroke. This happens 30-60% of the time. This is kind of disappointing as I would prefer to use this with the iPhone but this unreliability makes it almost unusable. I have tried a number of things to correct this (deleted and reinstalled; calibrated, moved the cradle up and down the shaft . . . ). I do not know if the issues is with the app or the phone. If anyone else has had this issue or figured out how to resolve this, please comment. I would rate 5 stars easily if not for the 4S issue..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Excellent!!I have been using it for the past 2 weeks. It definitely is a great feedback device for putting practice and is helping me measure and improve my consistency. It will not tell you how to change, for that you need to get a good putting book or see a pro..I like Dave Pelz putting bible and just got Michael Breeds new book which has a lot of good putting drills. I did encounter the issue where putts did not register and attribute to my stroke which is sometimes to close to the ground, ie I would drag the putt back and through to try and keep a straight path/face- and the technology did not register a stroke vs a more pendulum swing where the putter comes off the ground more - that always worked (iphone 4 ios5 though not iphone 4s). It would be nice to add a feature to change distance and compare to pros at 20, 30 ft, plus the pros play on fast greens so comparisons are different. Overall cool technology!.Version: 1.1.1

✓ People may not realize how ground breaking this is...I have a Adams Dixx putter, and that does more. It tells you where you hit it in the putter face, the swing path backward and forward tabulates 50 or 100 shots and gives you an average. BUT the thing was over $300 when it was available, eats up batteries like a Transformer, and its is a Dixx putter, NOT YOUR GAMER. If you use this just to train you to consistently set your putter face at contact, this worth three times the price. Best Value, ever!.Version: 1.0

✓ Great product!!Does a great job of diagnosing your stroke and proving instant feedback. I picked up the cradle at my local golf shop. Yes, it cost $30 but it's a well worth the $$ to have a putting coach with you whenever you feel like practicing. After using it for 20 min I had already determined the best setup and stroke path for me and improved my tempo. This is the first time I've felt compelled to submit an app review.
