✓ Finally one that works!Like many I have tried several shopping apps from ones with all the bells and whistles to the very simple. There was always some issue regarding function, syncing, cost, on and on. This app is not fancy, has nothing within its operation or form not required to do what a shopping list app needs to do or have and it’s extremely simple to use. This app operates perfectly every time and syncs instantly when I use it. I don’t know what their secret is but they need to pass it on to all the other app makers. You know the old KISS approach. ✓ Very useful but has some issues on iOS 13.1I’ve used this app for a while. Very handy and I use it every time I go shopping. Being able to share the list with family is great because if someone else finds themselves at the shop they can pick up your groceries for you too. However, under the new iOS - 13.1 - it appears to have some glitches. First of all the text in your shopping list is invisible (white on white) if your phone is set to utilise dark mode (it will reappear if you change to light mode). Also, your “contact us” button doesn’t do anything. I wanted to use that to advise you of the glitches but it doesn’t work so I’ve done it in a review..Version: 5.3.20

My only complaint is I wish the App would let you organize the items in your lists. For example: If I wanted to organize my daughters Christmas list by price, I could reorder them by holding an item down and dragging it to the order I want. I’m pretty confused by the numerous versions in the App Store (I count at least 3, and apparently I’ve had the wrong one for a while, at least in terms of getting Siri support). Now that I have the right version, though, I still can’t get Siri to recognize that I want to add items to Buy Me a Pie - it keeps telling me it’s not set up for 2Do (which is its own separate issue). ✓ Grocery shopping app extraordinaireI have been using the Pro version for Apple devices of this app for 8+ years. It allows me to make lists for all the different places I shop, customize items and place them in color-coded categories and easily cross them off the list while still keeping them visible. You can also add the qty of each item, or in my case, use that feature to add the current sale $ or some other factor like a coupon or rebate. Another great feature is that it syncs across multiple devices. So, I can create a list in the app on my iPad and then launch it on my phone when I am ready to shop. Sharing the list with other family members either by then having the app or exporting it to them via text message in a bonus option. I don’t imaging ever going back to a paper list that I could misplace or lose while shopping. My one complaint that I have mentioned to the developer in the past is that when you create a brand new list and go to enter a title (replacing the default Shopping List title), if you are not fast enough or the title you enter is long and takes more than 10 seconds, what you entered disappears and is replaced again with Shopping List. It only does this on the first attempt of the new list, but it is annoying. I would like to see this glitch fixed as it has been ongoing for years..Version: 5.4.14

✓ Timesaver!We have used the BuyMeAPie! App for a couple of years now and it helps us save money and time. We don’t end up duplicating purchases because we always check the list when we shop separately, and it syncs between devices instantly. I like the color coding feature to group items together. It also works with Siri so I can actually add stuff while I’m driving. My hope is that in the future I’ll be able to move items between lists. This was a feature in an old app I used and it was handy. If an item was not available at one store, I could just add it to the Target or Walmart list to pick it up on my next trip. I LOVE that I can wander the store and check my list off on my watch without having to pull out my phone. I do like that I can assign each item a color based on where in the store that item is usually located but it is tough sometimes to make sure everything is grouped correctly. I wish that the app had the ability to add pricing and a shopping total. Lists have come a long ways since back in the day. Is actually easier then it looks at first once you tinker with it few times. Really becomes very fluid and yes surprisingly handy. I find little short cuts etc. often. I’m a Dad with a family of four that needed to fill in when my wife became ill. ✓ So much and so easy to use!They give you a lot for free, and there’s so much to mention. Multiple users can use the same three lists, and your lists will be updated almost instantaneously. I want some in this change, while I was in the grocery store. It is insured that I was able to get what was just added. It was so cool. You can colorcode your items so that they are in categories, which makes it easier to have them in a specific order. I color-coded things in the order that they are in the stores that I shop. I also use these lists for when I need to pack for a trip. I often find recipes online and I can put them into a comma or semi-colon delimited list to add them all at once, with their amounts. It’s fantastic. I love that I can enter items on a PC, on my phone, or on any other device. I use this instead of other grocery list apps, because I can maintain my own dictionary, which helps me to name things the way I want to name them. This is an awesome app..Version: 5.3.7

So much easier to review and check off items from my wrist while shopping! Only complaint in the latest update. The new swipe up feature that deletes your history. This just really made me angry because I’m scrolling thru my historical items and I’m not sure when I’m reaching the end so I’ve deleted my history in two of my lists on accident!! ✓ Problem with Siri on iPhone 13I have uses app now for many years. I love how the list update between my phone and my wife’s phone. I just purchased a new iPhone 13. Unfortunately it is not working well with Siri. Any time I try to add to the list using Siri it adds as a duplicate the first two letters of the word. For example, if I try to say “bananas”, the app puts it in as “ba bananas“. Siri works fine on every other application so far. It only has an issue with this app..Version: 5.4.13

I had to log off and log back on, and my lists finally appeared within a few minutes. The latest upgrade broke the iPad version. The app freezes almost immediately and appears it’s not actually letting me logon. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling it multiple times. The new version on my IPhone forced me to logon again, but it retrieved my lists and worked ok once I did that. ✓ Like the App but Would Like More Editing OptionsSince I downloaded this app about 6 weeks ago, I have used this app many times. I found it very user friendly. My only issue is that the only editing options are to change categories or delete the item. It would be helpful to be able to also change the text in each item. For instance, suppose I need a certain number of a food item one week and a different number of the same item the next week. Right now, I have to enter a new item in the list instead of simply changing the number I need. Also, sometimes items we use are on sale at a certain store. I like to note that in the list. ✓ Grocery list with superb supportI somehow managed to down load an old version of this with no Apple Watch support. One email sorted the issue out. So I have populated my full weekly grocery shop which I’m doing tomorrow. (Hint, the colour tags are in list order, so use the first colour tag for your first aisle second colour for your second aisle). The app then puts your Aisle items in alphabetical order. If you buy a list app, that’s the sort of thing that’s important to you. Full editing is available on all items with a left swipe. So just by tapping the items i don't need will cross through them. They can be replaced with two taps. With a little practice its very intuitive. The list syncs straight to my watch, which means I don't need my phone out, in an environment where everyone is a little distracted and dropping a phone would be easy. OK you could do this on a piece of paper, but having everything you need & crossing out what you don't need works for me..Version: 5.3.11

I need it to sync between my iPhone and iPad, and then display on the Apple Watch, preferably from a complication for quick access. Buy Me a Pie is the closest I’ve come but I need it to allow manual drag and drop re-ordering (like some of the other list apps) so that I can order the groceries to match my flow through the store - it might sound petty or picky, but it’s much easier to spend a couple of minutes on the iPhone after writing the grocery list to get it in order than to scroll up and down the Watch screen while shopping. They added a useless splash screen and a feature that deletes crossed-out items—which I keep invoking accidentally and do NOT appreciate. Worst of all, it apparently can no longer communicate between my Apple Watch series 2 and my iPhone 7+. They claim to have fixed this, but, as of today, although my devices are up to date, the problem persists. ✓ Color blind?This is a great app but as a color blind person, it has its challenges. Foods are grouped together (eg “meats”) by color. This isn’t a problem if you choose something that is already in the app’s database, but if you add something, picking the right color for a color blind person is hard. The app does try to give you hints by flashing existing items within the tiny color box choices, but it’s just the first few letters which isn’t always helpful.
