✓ This is the way forward for iPads in the classroomAside from a few school-based wifi issues, my students have nothing but praise for this app. Presentations that I've created using the web based content tool have reinvigorated the learning of some pretty apathetic learners. I highly recommend this app as a way of utilising iPads as effective learning tools with one caveat - the success of apps like nearpod depends entirely on how engaging the teaching and learning is. I would also add that I find it far more intuitive to use than Go Class, for example, which seems to have a much more convoluted set up process..Version: 2.10.1

✓ Great resource, easy to use, students love it!I have used Nearpod for about 3 years and I love how interactive it is. It’s great for whole group lessons as well as independent center work. We use it for math and reading and occasionally social studies and science. I have done multiple trainings in my building to introduce Nearpod to other teachers so they can experiment it’s greatness! ✓ The Killer App for Classroom TeachingIf ever there were a Killer Application for the iPad to enhance classroom teaching then this, alongside it's sister Student App, is it. Educational Transformation is the offspring of Innovative and Creativity and this App allows Teachers to do just this. Gone are the days of disruption whilst I pop out of PowerPoint to switch to some form of voting software or even just ask for a show of hands to see if my students understand the concepts just taught. Gone are the days of not knowing if my students are really listening to my presentation and on task or updating their Facebook status. Gone are the days of not being able to reverse the teaching process from Teach-Assess to Assess-Teach what is required-Access NearPod offer me the flexibility to deliver my lessons using traditional well founded pedagogic methodologies with embedded test, polls and quizzes, knowing that my students are paying attention and are on task. The Schools Edition also allows me to view full reports of all sessions and assignments which allows me to monitor the pilot use of iPads in the Class and gather empirical evidence. All it needs is VOIP and goodbye Projectors, Walls and Traditional Classroom layout. the world becomes the classroom. I have used it with students of all ages from Kindergarten to HE Students and from Teachers to eminent Professors at conferences. Everyone that uses it is amazed by its ease of use and flexibility. ✓ Nearpod this weekHaving just started to use Ipads with my class at school, I determined to at least produce something they could use the first day back after half term. I produced a short review of holiday activities myself, which they loved, and later found a free lesson on South America, which livened up our Geography lesson no end. ✓ Great concept, not versatileI teach and wanted to use this for my class. Apple products are not common in our school due to cost. Would love to see this made available to Google platforms. I also don’t like that when the text is read by audio, you can’t see the page anymore. They really is not a good concept if you are trying to also encourage reading. Just got this app for teaching after a session in store. The 'get started' was very easy to follow. ✓ Love this appThis app allows me to turn power points into something a lot more interactive and informative. Although good wifi is a must for using (also works off 3G) the ability to allow students to explore web pages and respond to quizzes, polls, review embedded slides and even follow twitter feeds has changed the way in which I plan sessions now. Why have one route through your content when all students learn differently?it took me a couple of hours to get to grips with all options and not sure yet when my trial period on all spec runs out but I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to unleash the power of their mobile devices to inform learning. The direct link to Dropbox etc makes the adding on content really straight forward -I had not used cloud based storage much before by am a new convert on the back of such a positive experience through nearpod. Really like the homework feature too - with the ability to view feedback/interaction through the report function lets me know what's going on in terms of understanding and areas of need that I can follow up. It allows your students to interact with one another through a presentation, allowing them to respond to questioning, answer multiple choice quizzes, share answers with one another and to interact with the lesson. The app allows the teacher to see who has answered which question, whether they have got it right or not and whether they are connected to the app and not doing something they shouldn't be.
