Washington Examiner Digital for Negative User Reviews

Horrible App!After spending $64 on a yearly subscription, when the app opens, there is no way for me to open the issues..Version: 1.1.2

App isn't on par with other magazinesLove the magazine but the app needs a lot of work. I want to read a magazine like a magazine. Not a tablet of contents that looks like a webpage. You can't just browse the magazine, you have to go form the table of contents to story back to table of contents back to next story..Version: 1.1.2

App does not even openWhat a poor reflection on the magazine.Version: 2.2

Great publication! Horrible appApp won’t load on either of my devices. Please help! TWS: When will this be fixed?.Version: 1.1.12

App won't openThought I'd add a conservative opinion app to get a different POV than my own but when I try to open the app to access the content nothing happens. Now I feel ripped off. Caveat emptor..Version: 1.1.2

SubscriberCan't download current issue and app doesn't recognize my address or PW. I am a print & premium digital subscriber and have no problem signing on to the main NR website..Version: 1.0.1

It is in french! There is no english version!!It is in french! No english version!.Version: 2.2

Useless AppAfter subscribing, the app does not function. Cannot see any articles. Come on! Get it right.Version: 1.1.2

Terrible supportI paid for a full year subscription the beginning of this year. In April the app stopped working and new issues wouldn’t download. Two months later the problem persists. When I call the magazine they blame Apple, and when I call Apple they blame the magazine. No one will refund my money! It doesn’t get any worse than that!.Version: 1.1.12

Still broken, what a shame a great magazine has such a poor appThe content of this publication is first rate. The app is so badly executed it should be executed. Issues failed to load. Then they fixed that problem but now when you try to read articles they don’t scroll properly. Bugs and crashes are so common with this app you could use it as a training tool for how not to make an app. I really hate writing this review because I’ve been a subscriber since this magazine started many years ago. Such a terrible shame that no one at the publisher cares about the quality of the app. I’m running a 2016 model of the iPad Pro 9.6 with all the latest updates. So it should run properly if they were keeping up to date on Apple’s developer standards. Since the app has been broken for months and through a full update earlier this month, they clearly just don’t have the competence to manage an app. For your own sanity, stick to the print version of this fine magazine..Version: 1.1.8

No AccessHard to win in the marketplace of ideas when the app does not work..Version: 1.1.2

Unable to download new issuesThe last issue I have been able to download is the April 2, 2018, issue with John Kasicki on the cover. I deleted it, then reinstalled the app with the hope that that would fix the problem, but it did not. This is not the first time I’ve had problems downloading new issues..Version: 1.1.12

A sad app for a fine magGreat content, stinker of an app. Needs fixing, PRONTO..Version: 2.0

Took a $4.99 chanceI could not find the free preview issue that was promised. No problem, I'm a good sport and don't mind paying for a product of quality. I have to say though, the format seems clumsy to me. I think that Newsmax has a better format. Individual issues are a bit too pricey. Also, i was a bit perturbed by the ad banner on the issue I paid for. This is not the lite version. That is ridiculous. And for a range rover! In my dreams!.Version: 1.0.1

BrokenThis app has not been updated since the April 2nd issue and I am notified that my subscription is current until 1969. It’s been kind of charming for a conservative magazine to be technically challenged, but the charm wears off. I contacted the magazine directly, but the reply claimed that there is an Apple problem. Not a good excuse for a company trying to sell a magazine. One star only because I couldn’t give it a zero..Version: 1.1.12

App Under ConstructionI have not received a magazine for four weeks. Although I do have a notification in the Select Issue screen that says “Your subscription to The Oklahoman is current. It will automatically renew on Wednesday, December 31, 1969.” As there is no easy way to find how to get help I called up the subscription department and they indicated they were aware of the problem and many other digital subscribers are having the same issue, as the app is under construction. What poor planning or incompetence..Version: 1.1.12

Great Magazine, Unreliable AppI LOVE this magazine and am a digital only subscriber. The app worked well up until December 2014. But twice this month I was not able to download the latest edition on either my iPhone or iPad. They fixed it once, but it's happening again..Version: 1.1.2

Very buggyThe latest issue won't display at all after it indicates that it has downloaded. Don't give up your hard copy subscription yet..Version: 1.1.2

Constant crashesCannot finish any article without having to restart several times. I'll be done with this if not fixed soon..Version: 1.0.1

This App is the worstSeriously give up. How does one cancel this monthly "service"?.Version: 1.1.2

Can't open the app again!Great magazine, LOUSY APP..Version: 1.1.2

I've been cut off, againI love the content, but the app crashes constantly. In its current for, I can get more out of reading the average Twitter account. At least on Twitter I get to take in 140 characters in one sitting. This app shuts down long before I can even read that much. I have a year subscription, but I can't use it. Again, great content, but poor execution. Wait for a software update before spending your money here..Version: 1.0.1

Single issueThis app doesn't open onto a free sample issue. You have to subscribe..Version: 1.1.2

Still broken and they took my moneyI have been a reading the Weekly Standard since it launched and on my iPad for three years until it stoped working. I paid for a yearly subscription but no new issues have loaded since April. They were no help when I called. Don’t waste your money on the digital version..Version: 1.1.12

Pathetic AppOften cannot download magazines ..when I do download a magazine I have been charged at least double the listed price with no warning. I am deleting this app now.Version: 1.1.2

Can not log inThe app’s log-in jumps around when one attempts to log in! Impossible! I’m a print & digital subscriber, and desperately want to use the app as well. I am disgusted with WEX technology. Do not subscribe unless you are happy with print only..Version: 2.2

Updated App Does Not WorkThe updated Weekly Standard app does not work any better than the previous version, which means it does not work at all. The PageSuite technical support people do not seem to be at all interested in fixing this. Some things should just not be purchased through iTunes. This includes the Weekly Standard..Version: 2.0

App needs major updateI’m a subscriber, the app edition is stuck on the April 2 edition of the magazine . Please fix and add the current magazine edition..Version: 1.1.12

Great Mag.....App Terrible.....So far every time I open.....and go to issues.....it crashes. 10 attempts...... So. Whatcha gonna do...... do I need to call.....you pinheads?.Version: 1.1.7

You Can Download Our App (For A PriceI’m a Millennial. I cannot afford to pay (monthly) 4 an app. At least the liberals at the NYT let me subscribe via email (w/no strings)..Version: 1.1.11

Still not ready for prime timeThe digital app is unstable. Selected stories close on their own, and the share links do not work. I finally deleted it out of frustration. Other reviews indicate the app has not been tended to in a long time. I prefer the scrolling headlines of the digital over the other Washington Examiner app, but cannot put up with the digital shortcomings ..Version: 3.2

The Weekly Standard App does not workAfter subscribing to the app from iPad, I was able to access the magazine. After some update to IOS, I am unable to access any of the issues. After Several emails, and voice contacts, the Weekly Standard customer support and webmaster have been unable to solve the problem. They seem to have no clue about the app. If I had to do it over again, I subscribe through the Weekly Standard web site rather than through iTunes..Version: 1.1.2

Shoot the developerThe app stinks. It has never been good, but isn’t working at all now. It hasn’t downloaded a new issue this month, which I paid for. Deleting and reinstalling doesn’t help. Deleting, reinstalling, and logging in as an existing subscriber reveals the message that my subscription to The Oklahoman is good until 1969. Yay for me. Pitiful, pitiful, pitiful. May 24 update. Still not working. This kind of nonsense and indifference to readers has happened before, but not usually this long. I’ve been a reader since the mag’s first year. Pains me, but I’ve already cancelled automatic renewal..Version: 1.1.12

No free issueBait and switch.Version: 1.1.2

Working OK on an iPad ProYou have to put text size at the minimum, and it's not showing all the graphics, but it's usable..Version: 1.1.2

Not workingAlso can't download new edition. I also find it frustrating that there are no customer service links anywhere!.Version: 1.0.1

Great Publication. Lousy AppProving once again that competent tech geeks work for Google, not conservative publishers operating on a shoe string, the people behind the Weekly Standard app have provided the worst possible smart phone interface for their magazine. To call the app buggy, glitchy or finicky would imply that it sometimes works. As of this writing, my iOS subscription gives me access to the April 2 issue, which is at least 6 issues behind. Trying to update my subscription produces this message: “Your subscription to the Oklahoman is current and will renew on December 31, 1969.” I am not making this up. A call to subscription services resulted in a nice lady reading to me over the phone a mile-long URL link for a 90-day digital subscription. As you may have guessed, the requested URL was not found. So no app, no access, no help, and I paid something like $60 for the annual subscription. This makes Trump University look like a bargain..Version: 1.1.12

Can’t log onAccidentally logged off. Can’t log on because app says my info is incorrect. Subscription services said I had to log via the website first and then thru the app. No luck. Grrr..Version: 1.1.12

Download problemsHave enjoyed the Weekly Standard without problems until this latest issue which I am unable to download. I deleted the site and reinstalled, but no luck. Able to reinstall prior issues without problem. Yes..I have a paid subscription. If continues, no sense in continuing..Version: 1.0.1
