Fun!This is exactly what I’ve been hoping for- a way to participate in weather citizen science without the requirement of a rain gauge. This is important to me personally, because I’m in major thunderstorm and hurricane country, and weather accuracy is critical to our survival and safety. It’s also a way to find empowerment after living through a few of the big guys. Hope that it’s helpful in your research!.Version: 2.0

LIGHTNINGIs there a way to report LIGHTNING, rain with lightning, and other random weather occurrences like snow and lightning? What about strong winds like derechos, but not damaging wind, but strong winds that just pop up? Might be a goo thing to pass along to the next town over if those storms or winds increase..Version: 2.2.2

Mping is back!I have been using mping for years. Glad to see the app working again ! ..Version: 2.1.3

Sr. Spotter WX1DXGreat app very well thought out been using it for years I’m glade to see the latest improvements and hope to see support added for photos and small Video clips for storm damage and training purposes. Also real time reporting data base for observers and local news feeds in the future..Version: 2.0

Great tool.I am a police officer and SKYWARN spotter and really enjoy being able to report on this app. It’s a great tool to see what weather, especially winter weather, is headed my way. Too bad someone had to spoil it. Hopefully a fix is figured out soon. Maybe register users..Version: 2.0

Great app, hope it’s back online soonLame that someone decided they needed to mess with a crowd source weather tool. I mean come on. Feel bad for whatever is wrong with them..Version: 2.0

Fun App & maybe helpful too?I got this app with my iPhone 4G and kept using it now with the 5s. There are times I want to report "just barely barely teeny tiny rain" as opposed to the "driving hard gully-washing toad-stranger" types of descriptions. But you science types don't seem to need the quantity... Oh and I miss that map where I could see where else weather was reported (especially when we get those big storms that cover two or three states - like KS & MO or OK & KS etc. I realize the east coast has states that are smaller then some of our counties...)..Version: 2.0

Luv itLuv having this app & being able to do my part as a storm chaser. Lately the app doesn't work right, won't let me send any reports. But hopefully they will get it fixed soon!.Version: 2.0

Loved it before jerks ruined itHope they can fix the vulnerabilities so folks can submit reports again..Version: 2.0

Have to keep reinstalling it to workThe only way I can update my status is to delete and keep reinstalling the app. I LOVE DOING THIS , but please, please FIX this BUG!.Version: 2.0

Dr mPINGSnow is still there as "Snow and/or Graupel" because *for mPING purposes,* there's no difference. So when you see snow OR graupel OR both together simply use the "Snow and/or Graupel" category..Version: 2.0

Best app for Storm ReportingAs devout I am to the Weather, I like to observe Weather Conditions. God gives us Weather so we may be entitled to his gifts, including Fair Weather All Day Every Day, but eternally. Having the opportunity to submit this information to the Weather Service directly really helps others in important decision making. This app needs more attention nationwide....Version: 2.0

Why no Smoke option in Reduced Visibility report?Add SMOKE in the Reduced Visibility report. I’m sure someone overlooked that rather common problem in Oklahoma..Version: 2.0

No longer works on iOS 8.4.1I have confirmed that the January 2016 update is no longer compatible with iOS 8.4.1. I have an iPhone 6. The app didn't work until I upgraded to iOS 9.2.1. I reported this directly to the lead scientist for the project, and urged them to figure out why the redesigned app is no longer compatible with 8.4.1. Other than that, I still like the app and support the research goals..Version: 2.0

Good for Citizen Science!I wish there were more such apps. But this one needs a legend that explains the meaning of the icons on the map screen. Its goal is to focus on LOCAL phenomena that radar can’t pick up; so It’s annoying to tap on a square in upper left of the local area map and be transported from one’s (& one’s phone’s) location in the American Midwest to the Eastern Atlantic Ocean. And when one looks at the local area map, one sees green drops—some large, some small. To what do the different sizes correspond? And sometimes one or more orange squares appear on the area map. What do they mean? If they have anything to do with tornadoes or flash floods, we citizens need to know. KSSHRINK.Version: 2.0

Good, but icons can be confusingThe app works great, but there needs to be a better legend to show you what exactly the icon means. For example, there are occasionally numbers inside circles, but is nothing like that in the legend anywhere. Is that hail size? Like I said, it’s a great app, but it could just be improved to show what all of the icons mean in the legend..Version: 2.2.2

Easy to Use and for a Good CauseIt's extraordinarily easy and simple to submit a precipitation type report (takes 5 seconds), and the reports go to a good research cause. Only suggestion would be for the submit button to depress a little when submitting so that it's more obvious the report has been sent. Also, a link to a mobile friendly website where these reports show up would be nice..Version: 1.0

Love it but the new format isn't goodI love this app. But the new format is difficult to read. Much prefer the black background..Version: 2.0

I would add one thingI love the idea of this app. This is an amazing example of using citizens to gather data that can be analyzed and interpreted for everyone's benefit. This app is dead easy to use and has a rather attractive interface. If there is any way to add "trace", "sporadic", "light", "moderate", "heavy", and "very heavy", I think users would be able to provide a more robust and accurate report that would provide an even greater trove of data when local reports are compared to radar. Just a thought..Version: 1.1

Great appI love this app and of course i wish it could grow and become more robust. For me as for the weather freak the further growth is necessary. bugs: the zoom buttons show nothing but black screen. when i pinch zoom the map of reports the cycle of repeating kind of slows and the frequent crashes occur. i wished the option for detailed classification of precipitation but do not make the discerning mandatory if someone is not that sure as how to classify in more detailed way. maybe some measurment of the size of splashes of rain drops on the windshield would be interesting for car riders..Version: 1.1

Great App but..It stopped submitting my reports. Says error. Please help..Version: 2.0

Great Research ToolAs a meteorologist and Storm Spotter I love the utility of this app, however, I have one suggestion. The app was originally developed to better radar from real reports, improving level 2 data, etc. I only wish there was an option to report thunder, not lightning, just thunder. The average layman may think lightning way far in the distance is near them and erroneously report, however, thunder can only be so far away to be heard. It’d improve lightning forecasts/safety a lot I think..Version: 2.2.2

I support citizen scienceI’ve always been a weather enthusiast, so an app that lets us file observations really is up my alley. The only thing I would suggest is a means to provide photos (for significant reports) as part of a submission..Version: 2.0

Where's the snow? This is a great little app. I especially like having the opportunity to participate in "citizen science." But I think there has been an oversight in the latest version - the option for reporting plain snow is missing. Until this is fixed, 4 stars only!.Version: 2.0

Stopped workingAugust 1, 2020, haven’t been able to submit report in awhile..Version: 2.0

All around great appThis app is perfect for reporting weather at your location. It’s excellent to use and your reports can even be seen on radarscope. It’s nice to know your reports are helpful to Meteorologists and other users! It’s so much fun to participate in..Version: 2.2.2

No snow?Love being able to contribute to science. In the last update somehow there is no option to report snow, only snow/graupel..Version: 2.0

Come on turn it back onWhen are you turning it back on to start entry again?.Version: 2.0

Awesome!I love the weather and i will love to spot and report whats going on!! Keep this app updated!!.Version: 2.0

They’re back!I’m glad to see that the issues were fixed and mPing is up and running again! The update is great and I’m looking forward to being able to contribute when conditions allow. Thank you for working diligently to get this working again. It’s nice to know the devs are as devoted to this app as their users are..Version: 2.1.3

One bad person ruins it for the rest of usThis app is a great app paired with Radar scope. This will allow anyone to submit a weather report in their area to share with others important weather conditions. Unfortunately, some people have taken advantage of it by posting a lot of fake reports spamming the system. Hopefully this issue can be resolved and the app can come back!.Version: 2.0

Great app good workThis app is perfect for all times of year. I ran a test for my area and it works perfectly great job guys this will give people a heads up of what is coming there way. This has been a long time coming, I would add lightning if possible but overall great job. This allows weather buffs like me to assist in letting people know what is coming or is going on, thank you!!.Version: 1.1
