✓ Be carefulThere is a lot about this app that I love, but you have to look very carefully and question what the app is reporting. For example, because of the fire in Santa Barbara County, I wanted to look on the Willyweather app to see what the wind speed would be today. Unfortunately, the app was reporting wind speed from 30 miles away in a different county. If I hadn't noticed that, I would be freaking out at predicted winds of 30 to 40 miles an hour. Sometimes the day and the night is reversed. Just always pay attention to what the app is reporting and doublecheck it with other weather apps. I know they are going to do a major update, and hopefully these bugs will be worked out..CheckFuseVersion: 1.3.3

✓ Willy weatherWilly weather is a pretty good weather app. But honestly most of the time the weather forecast tells you what it is kind of going to be like. Most of the time the wind isn’t very accurate. I’ve been out on a boat and the forecast was 6 knots N and it was nearly 20 knots E. Definitely a big mistake. The swell is usually quite accurate and that’s probably where the accuracy ends. It is nice to have a wide variety of choices when it comes to seeing what the weather is going to be like. ✓ Removed shortcut buttons: less user friendlyThis app has never saved the changes made to the default graph on the main screen. Most irritating. Fortunately at the top of the screen there was an icon giving one-tap access to my saved customised graph. Open app, tap, voila: I could see the thing that I refer to most often and exactly how I want it. *Now* I have to open app, tap on favourites, scroll to the bottom of my saved places list (because I can’t even move my graph favourite to the top) and tap again. So Developer Greg, *please* don’t paste in your boiler plate text about how it’s still “easy” to see a custom graph. I know how to do it. It’s now more steps and more user friction. If you’re not going to restore the shortcut buttons, please let us edit the sequence of panels on the main screen so those who want to see a (custom!) graph at the top can, those who want forecasts first can, those who want radar first, etc. You let us edit tab sequence, how about main screen panels? Backstory: I’m seeking a replacement to the superb but now defunct Pocket Weather, which opened with graph view rather than forecasts, and I thought this app might have been the one. I even paid to remove ads. But with this change (together with the need to scroll to see radar instead of tapping on the radar icon to jump to it) I’m rethinking that..ThomasinaVersion: 2.9.2

✓ Latest update issueI agree with many users. I did like the Temperature badge on the icon but now it’s gone. Secondly when I exit the app, the blue indicator stays on and tells me an app is actively using my gps location! I have to “kill the app” before the blue indicator with the time in it disappears on my iPhone 13 pro. This is happening even if I set privacy to “only while using app”. Willy weather app didn’t used to do this. I hope you can fix it. I still love the app because if it’s graphs and information, but this new iteration has not improved in the 2 things as described above..Skywalk74Version: 2.10.1

✓ Once good, fast becoming second rateOriginally paid to remove adds and had been faultless as my “go to” over many years. Now becoming a subscription based app that hangs and fails to do what it did best (be my reliable, trusted, single source of weather info). Recent weeks have seen the app update and basic functions freeze, stall and the introduction of annoying paid subscription tiles/frames. What a pity, already searching for a replacement as not intending to lay $50 year for stuff that doesn't work properly or for functionality i don't need..Moooo2uVersion: 3.0.4

✓ FoolishThis app looks good at first glance. Seems to be close to the NWS forecast. Then I saw the fine telling where the forecast is coming from. Most readings are from our local airport less than a mile away which is good, but for some reason they get the wind readings from over 30 miles away at an Air Force base that is near sea level. My home elevation is near 7000' in a mountain Valley with a totally different climate. There is no way we have the same winds at that distance and difference in elevation. My local airport shares all of their data including the winds. Everyone depending on this app should check to see if the "local" weather touted is really local. ✓ Difficult and confusing to useThis worked well when I first set it up in one country. I liked the option to know the tides charts. Then I managed to get one more country when I travelled but now it is impossible to choose a further one, like France, and it appears there is limited choice of countries. It seems to revert to,the USA. Even with location services on it lists my location as almost 1000k from where I am!! Ridiculous. So I will not buy the ad free version and only use it when I am back in the original country where I downloaded it. Pity as it’s a good idea..Vagabond019Version: 2.7.5

✓ Sunrise/Sunset Widget not workingI have decided to cancel my subscription and delete WW. Widgets are frozen and rain alerts have stopped. Waiting 18 months for the sunrise/sunset widget bug to be fixed shortly. This is not what I would expect from a premium service. Widget temperature & location do not update I have updated to the latest version - Thank you! I have also purchased the subscription for one year (30 day trial). I notice that the sunrise/sunset widget is stuck in the am mode - before update it was stuck in the pm mode. I was advised in July 2022 that this would be addressed ‘shortly’ in the next update. I think I’ll wait until this bug is fixed before purchasing subscription. Thanks.Tron 14Version: 3.0.2

✓ Very disappointingIPhone app quits on startup more often than not. When it does start up it is sluggish and freezes in forms. The Apple Watch app is nearly useless, it is so unresponsive it’s untrue. Have installed both apps and used the iPhone app to reorder the information in the watch app - doesn’t change the order. The complications say they are installed but are not available on any watch face. Really sad to report not fit for purpose, don’t waste your time on it..RTDiceVersion: 2.7.3

✓ Good app for wind, but…I use this app a lot for mostly one thing: current wind speeds in particular areas. I check rain amounts, but it is usually inaccurate to my location. A good app, but $30/year or 4$/monthly (48$/yr)? I pay for other comprehensive weather apps for less than 1/2 that. ✓ It was good but now displays incorrect high tide dataReally liked this app until they stopped reporting the double high tide that occurs on the Solent and river Hamble as they thought it was anomaly. ✓ Seriously Inaccurate for Glenelg, AdelaideToday it’s overcast & raining but this app says a UV 12.3. But others say today’s UV high is about 3!! (And when I say others I mean multiple sources). This app says it will be 30C but others say 25/26 My long experience with this app is it always overestimates the worst. I am about to delete it. It’s caused me to unnecessarily sunscreen on my toddler daughter (applying it is hardly a nice experience). So time wasted and stress caused..FairPlay1994Version: 3.0.4

✓ But....This app has all the info I look for. For example, tides, visibility, UV index etc. are easily found, unlike other apps I’ve tried. I love the fact that I can edit the toolbar section to my preferences. However, current location... 2 towns away in Massachusetts... is wrong. The airport in my New Hampshire city is closer to me than the one listed as ‘my location’. My city’s weather info comes from our airport, so you do have reporting from here. This makes me believe wherever I may be will also be off. Trivial as this may seem, it bothers me. When I try to turn current location off (following) it won’t let me. ✓ Needs an updateI find this to be one of the most accurate & reliable weather apps, but it could be improved on & some things don’t add up. Firstly, rain. Example; currently the bar graph is telling me that one day next week has 100% chance of 10-20mm, yet the other graph is showing 45% chance of rain for that day. In fact, most days for the current week aren’t matching up between the two graphs & I cannot understand why. Secondly, things like advanced settings for rain warnings etc have been on the app for a year or more yet do not actually work & it just says “coming in a future update”. So… what’s the hold up? All these great options just sitting there unusable. Also cannot send feedback through the “help & feedback” tab. Says no email associated with account even though there is. This is the main reason I’m leaving a review as I wanted to ask a question through the feedback tab but was unable to do so. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Overall, still better than Apple weather (iPhone default) & the few other apps I’ve tried. ✓ WeatherI have run with Willy Weather for three years now but the last year it has really failed in many ways. Take today for example. I was to expect an 80% chance of 5-15mm and the temperature would reach a maximum of 33. The actual day gave us sun all day, no rain and a top of 36. The rain total on Willy Weather read at 0.2mm since 9am when we actually had no rain at all. If I was to compare this to the BoM app, while still not 100% accurate, it was closer to the mark. This isn’t an isolated issue, it has happened on numerous occasions. If you are a farmer or someone who relies on an accurate weather source the information provided on Willy weather just cannot be trusted..Al98lrVersion: 2.9.7

✓ ??????Not sure where you are going with this WW but just woke up to find a totally changed app, with a push towards subscription. Trying the Feedback link tells me my device has no email setup - wrong! - so have to use the Review option. Why the grab for money? Because others are doing it too? If weather accuracy was better than perhaps a one-off payment of $50 might be looked at, but *yearly*?? Just this last week, the forecast of rain in my area has changed virtually EVERY 6 hours. ✓ A great app with a big problemI enjoy WillyWeather’s user interface and wide range of accessible data. The concise widget view is very useful to have on my iPad home screen. Having access to BOM information in a nice looking app is a big win however there is one problem with WillyWeather which makes me question using it. The Apple Watch app is atrocious and will not open. Whether launching from the home screen or the watch face complication, the app simply attempts to load before it crashes back to the watch face. This means I cannot have my weather information available at a glance on my wrist. I prefer WillyWeather’s complication to other apps and I much prefer having accurate BOM data however being unable to use the complication forces me back to weather apps I dislike..VakkieBoiVersion: 2.8.2

✓ Almost everything you’d want in a weather app. Almost.The app has a crazy amount of info neatly arranged to present what you need. It has a modest fee to remove ads for those that don’t want them. The only things I think are missing are; - app icon badge with either the current temp or feels like temp - theming; the app is so overlaid with info and the charts have a terrible purple/ yellow/ white combo that makes me want to claw my eyes out… some personality would go a long way - more info about data sources; does it always use BoM, or only for some things, or only for registered/paid users? - more info about why I’d want to create an account - more info about WillyWeather company; it’s almost impossible to find, even on the website; who are you? I’m coming from the defunct Pocket Weather, which has a beautiful interface with admittedly less info. They set the bar very high for user interface design. While the apps give the same result, I think WillyWeather has a long way to go on that front..ShehaalVersion: 2.7.2

✓ Incorrect tidesTides are always wrong. I’ve used this app all over East coast from Maine to Captiva, Florida and it never is right once. So disappointing. Responding to developer: any beach in south Florida including Hollywood beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers and in Maine Popham Beach, Phippsburg, Maine, and West bath, Maine. It’s not even mist beaches but rivers, etc. I entered exact locations. I’m not stupid either so trying to tell me visual is an issue, no your app is. I use other websites with the same exact locations and they’re accurate. I expect it to be off a little bit but by hours? No way!.K.morongVersion: 2.8.1

✓ Good app. Shame about the ads for white nationalistsI get that apps use ads for support. However accepting ad revenue from the Trump campaign aligns WillyWeather with a regime which separates toddlers from their parents, refers to neo-Nazis as “good” people, tear gasses peaceful protesters and uses taxpayer funds to extort personal favors from foreign governments. Despite being functionally a good app, I’ve stopped using it as I really can’t stomach the lies and propaganda being pushed in the ads..TomtheguvnorVersion: 2.9.4

✓ UselessThe app claims it gets it’s weather data from the BOM. Yet all the other weather apps that make the same claim forecast completely different temps and rainfalls. So someone is lying. The app also doesn’t work during storms, the one time you need the app most. Rainfall forecast will be the first to not load and then the whole app. The accuracy of the app also seems to be equivalent to if someone stuck their head out the window each morning to look at the sky and make a weather forecast for the day based on that. We’ll get severe weather warnings through the app for our area when there’s not a cloud in the sky or even though the app has predicted 0 rainfall. And don’t even get me started on the accuracy of the temperature forecasts. Of course no weather app can predict all weather events 100% accurately and I completely understand that, that’s not the issue here, the issue is that this app doesn’t seem to predict the correct rainfall or temperature even 25% of the time, sticking your head out the window to look at the sky each morning is going to give you a 10x more accurate prediction than anything on this app..ActuallypostthispleaseVersion: 3.0.4

✓ Apple Watch UnreliableThis app was good but over the past 6-12 months there have been problems associated with the app which has led to this review. The worst problem associated with the Apple Watch app not following the location on my iPhone which has been round for almost 6 months is still not working correctly. Twice I have contacted the developer support team and on both occasions received the same response: Sorry you are having problems, a number of users have reported the same problem. We are currently investigating the problem but our developer for this app only works part time. Almost 6 months on and no permanent fix is unacceptable for a paid app. Don’t buy unless the watch app is not important..JeC1951Version: 2.9.4

✓ Early days reviewJust started using this in the UK and will be watching it closely. It’s a great looking app - use in dark mode. One thing needs adding quickly though - Home Screen Widgets. Until these are available I am likely to continue to use other Weather apps as the default. Once widgets are available I’m more that likely to pay the money to remove the adds - as I hate them!
