✓ Enjoyable if frustrating in placesLooking at some of the other reviews I can see their point - there are places, particularly in the second part, where it’s close to impossible to work out how to achieve something without referring to a guide of some sort. Overall though a great game with beautiful artwork, lovely music, lots of quirky characters (most of whom seem to have ‘issues’ of some sort or another) and entertaining dialogue. I’ll need to play it again to spot all the clues I missed first time round!.Frogfather63Version: 2.4.1

✓ Fantastic adventure game!I’ve always had a soft spot for adventure games ever since I spent sleepless nights trying to beat Monkey Island with my brother when we were kids. It’s unfortunate that as technology advanced, adventure games became less popular and overshadowed by RTS, FPS and MMORPG. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy almost all genres of video games. Broken Age brought back the magic of adventure games with modern graphics, smooth gameplay and wonderful humor. After finishing act 1 I couldn’t wait to play act 2. Fortunately I discovered Broken Age relatively late so I didn’t have to wait long for act 2 to be released. I was sad that there would be no more though as I thought maybe there would be at least an act 3. I highly recommend Broken Age if you like adventure games. But if you’re looking for something “fast paced” like “Damager99”, this is not for you..Guybrush T.Version: 2.1.0

✗ Lovely game, but far too expensive!I was really excited to play this - I’m a big fan of old school point ’n’ click adventures and having recently bought a new Macbook I thought this would be a fun game to check out. I’ll start with the positives: the art style is beautiful and looks amazing on a retina screen. The music and voice acting are high quality, there are some genuinely funny moments and the characters are very likeable. I found the story enjoyable and there’s a neat twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. The downside of this game is how short and easy it is. I was aware when I purchased it that this was only half of the game and the other half will be added as an update later, so I didn’t expect it to be really long, but even for half a game I felt disappointed. I finished it in just over three hours even though I took my time to explore. Assuming Act II will be around the same length as the first, it’s £17.49 for six hours of gameplay, which to me feels very overpriced. I have no idea what the “really hard puzzle” in the description is referring to - none of them were a stretch to try and solve. There are so few places to explore and items to look at that the solutions present themselves without you needing to think much about it. In short, Broken Age is lovely and I really *want* to like it, but it’s not worth the price tag. If Act II blows me away I will happily eat my words, but for now I’d advise anyone considering this game to give it a miss at least until Act II comes out and is confirmed twice-as-awesome, or it comes down in price..KitebabyVersion: 1.2.3

✗ Slow, and lots of clicking to talk to other charactersThis is a very slow paced game, with a linear story line that can only be followed by speaking unendingly to everyone you come across. Gets boring pretty quickly....KipbowesVersion: 2.1.0
