Calca is a powerful symbolic calculator that updates as you type giving you instant answers. It solves equations and simplifies complex expressions. It's also a rich Markdown text editor so that you can explain your ideas alongside your calculations.
Calca is perfect for professionals and students - anyone who works with numbers and equations. Variables and functions can be created with only a few keystrokes and can be manipulated with a rich library of operators and functions.

✓ Good so farI have been playing with this for a couple of hours and I am very impressed. There are a few things that could be improved and some that could be added but I'm sure that these will come in time. At the moment, if I define a variable and use it in a calculation, the markdown shows the variable name rather than the value. Also, I haven't yet got used to the fact that variables defined under one markdown heading level are only visible in that level's children. All in all though a good start. Let's hope the developer keeps the new features coming. BTW for the price you can't go wrong. Would willingly pay more for more features and preferences..Version: 1.1
✓ Extraordinarily UsefulThis app doesn’t get nearly enough positive press. It allows one to perform calculations in a freeform manner that mirrors perfectly how one thinks of them. If you are someone who needs to calculate stuff (and let’s face it every one does) this app is for you. I am a huge believer in the power of a desktop (not web!) app coupled with a mobile app. In this regard, Calca is perfect. It augments the incredible desktop app with a mobile offering that syncs and performs flawlessly. It is absolutely fantastic and at $4.99 US is one of the better values in the software world. ✗ Great app until it crashed and I got no supportI must stress I don't give bad feedback. I try all avenues before even contemplating it. I bought Calca after seeing a review on Appstorm and I previously tried Soulvner and really liked it. So this cheaper and more powerful version seemed perfect. It was brilliant, I even started working on variables for common web design calculations for designing responsive grids and even uploaded to Github but then a couple of days it it won't let me open or create files locally or on iCloud. I have deleted everything and reinstalled and still nothing. It starts but as soon as I try to work with a file it crashes. I have contacted support but nothing. This is annoying as I was relying on this app to help me with soe work I need doing. Has the potential of being great, but needs to work first :/.Version: 1.1
✗ Could be good… but not yetThis app is great! I have really been happy with it when it works. However, I have experienced multiple crashes in the middle of large amounts of work. I hope a future revision of the app will resolve these issues..Version: 1.2
