✗ Bah! Nothing works!I was a bit suspicious when I saw the Via/Silicon Valley Hopper App had a low star rating of 1.8 but put it down to very few reviews (6 at the time) but now, having downloaded the App and attempted to use it I think that 1.8 was a fair representation of the software and it seems the service itself. This is sad and annoying as it looks as though it could be good contribution to life in and around Cupertino. This is a public service and so I assume is subsidised by the public and yet it's receiving insufficient qualified management attention to make it a success. The only other written review I saw here said that the service itself could not be relied upon with drivers not showing up in a timely fashion, cancelling trips after the user had been waiting, and wait less than a minute before calling a "no show". I'm noting apparent defects in the App process itself. I went through most of the registration steps including setting a password but when I carefully entered the details of my Apple Credit Card the app gave a cutesy error message along the lines of: "Something has happened call support". The registration attempt was on a Sunday so I thought I would try again on Monday. This time it refused to accept the password that I had entered successfully on Sunday. Since the password came from my system there was no question of a misstyping but I tried entering it again manually and got the same error message. I suppose, based on previous experience, that if I then tried to create a new password it would complain that the user name, which was my email address, was already taken — but by this time my patience for the App, with the thought of having to make one or more support calls, had evaporated. During the registration process I, as usual, carefully set the flag for no spam from them to my email address but after the acceptable Welcome/registration successful email I received another two messages from them soliciting my use of the system in a single day. In conclusion, please someone in oversight, make this App and the associated service fit for purpose so that more locals can use it for the purpose for which it is funded..What another one?!Version: 4.11.12
