✓ This is rubbishThis is quite possibly the worst app that I have ever used. It takes so long to boot up and measure the wind speed that the urge has past to know what the wind speed is. My daughter purchased this pike of crap for my birthday and I do t know how to tell her that she has wasted her money..Version: 2.2.1
✓ This app needs a major update ASAP!!This app has major bugs and needs a big overhaul. What this app needs to do is share all collected wind speed data with the NOAA to further improve their ability to forecast the weather..Version: 2.4.2
✓ Nice Tool.. Useful for selecting which kite to use. Update got rid of important feature.I've enjoyed both versions of vaavud wind meters, but am a bit disappointed in the development of the application. While the interactive map is much easier to navigate, vaavud got rid of the best feature of the app. This feature was a graph of your wind reading. Now, you can see the average speed, max speed, and direction. 2/15/2016 - Cannot use the app. Upon sign in with vaavud account, app crashes. Upon sign in with facebook, cannot exit login screen. App support button on app store is a dead link..Version: 2.1.1

✓ I have no map at allI like the idea and the design is pretty cool too but i have serious issues with the world map. Its showing the grid and the measurements across the globe and there's no map underneath or whatsoever. This way its pretty much useless. I keen to see it work.Version: 2.2.1
✓ Where is my previous negative review?Does App Store suppress negative reviews? I want Vaavud to refund the $50 I spent on their appliance since I can no longer use it to find wind speed. I don't have time to jack around with logging into an app when I need to know the wind speed, just so Vaavud can do social networking games. When I need to know wind speed, I'm sailing offshore out of range of the Internet - not the time to be told "you have to sign in so we can provide advanced features". I could care less about "advanced features"! I need to know the speed of the wind. I don't need access to the Internet to find that out. The Vaavud appliance is useless without the app and, at this point, without access to the Internet. What naive product manager approved that brilliant concept? I want my money back....Version: 2.2.1
✓ App ok - device is junkI received the device from Amazon today and have tested it several times throughout the day and find the device very inaccurate and does not respond to wind changes very well. This is a day when winds have been between 5-15 mph. The cups didn't want to even rotate in the light stuff and measured 5-6 mph when I know from experience (30+ sailing years) that it was blowing at least 10 mph. And on top of the inaccuracy, it seems very cheaply made for the money... Returning product to Amazon and deleting the app..Version: 1.0.7
✓ Now a plastic brickI backed the first iteration on kickstarter and then the second. At no time did they ever say we're going to completely cripple the use of this by requiring a login and an internet connection. I use this for sailing and don't always have an internet connection out on the water and I can't believe they have just bricked this for me..Version: 2.2.1

✓ Okay with faultsApp works fine though a bit rough round the edges. Main fault I have found is with the device. If you are the outdoor type, surf, sail, kite etc then your phone will generally be in a protective cover. The stem of the vavuud will not then reach the earphone socket so you gave to either remove case and expose phone to elements or not bother. Getting to not bother stage as have a waterproof case for iphone . Have emailed vavuud but not bothered to reply, speaks volumes about them..Version: 1.6.2

✓ Great tool!Great tool, but I would like to be able to see wind readings even without being signed into the app. Took it to the shooting range and did not have enough cellular service to get logged into the app. Would have been nice to open the app and have a manual wind reading! ✓ Too few locations in the USNot worth the time. Does not let you select a location because there are so few measuring sites. For example, this does not show the winds in Atlanta, Ga. But it does give winds at a tine lake about 70 miles away..Version: 1.0.2

Plug the overpriced piece of plastic in to your iphone or ipad and open the app. Simple, effective but NOT NOW. Vaavud you “children out of wedlock" what sort of update is this? Tried using it for the first time this season. I NEEDED it to measure some serious wind on the Chesapeak this evening but the app wants an internet connection and you to login to the app to share the data over a social network. YES YOU HAVE TO LOGIN TO THE APP TO “expletive-ing" USE IT….well “expletive…begins with “f” sounds like duck" you Vaavud….you pile of excrement.
