IPeng for Negative User Reviews

It’s okI just find the flow of the design odd to use.Version: 9.5.1

So hard to useIt does what it's supposed to do, but man is it hard to use. Things like if you swipe left at the top of the screen it does one thing, but if you swipe left at the bottom of the screen it does something different. Not intuitive at all. Still struggling to use it and it's very frustrating. It has help guides that step you through things but I can't find anything else. You need to open instructions on your PC and follow along with the app, but I can't find that kind of instructions. There's buttons that you press and I can't tell what they even do...Version: 9.3.1

Great App butThis would be a great app if it worked properly. It doesn't recognize either of my Logitech products consistently. I have reverted to the older app that works as advertised. $5 a lot for something that won't work. Thanks..Version: 7.0.1

BuggyIs good enough for connecting to the different players, but recently have started to see a lot of issues when playing from the app on the phone speakers, for instance the songs will randomly skip, restart and repeat on their own. Also sometimes will glitch out very badly and lag and sometimes you can only hear white noise, and the only way I have solved this problem is by resetting the app. This does not happen on any of the other players in the house, so unfortunately must this app causing the problem. Probably needs bug fixes and updates please..Version: 9.7.4

Tidal not workingIt’s disappeared from the apps section ???.Version: 9.7.4

BitrateI am using iPeng to control a Daphile music server. The app works fine but it would be nice to see the bitrate of the music that is playing. The Daphile web UI shows this info, but iPeng does not..Version: 9.5.1

Too complicatedFar too complicated and instructions are pretty useless Far too expensive whereas mconnectLite is free.Version: 9.7.4

Terrible phone UIThe UI is terrible on a phone and feels extremely dated. Annoying forced help pop ups that you can skip but not disable. Expensive for what it is, I see no reason to use this app over the material skin which works nicely as a PWA app when added to the Home Screen, only it’s missing lock screen controls. Looks like the author has abandoned the app, but left on sale at a high price for what it is. Avoid..Version: 9.7.4

Please bring back album titles for Album Artists tab!Just updated to latest version and every view except that one has the title under the artwork. This change simply doesn’t make sense. I’m a long time user and the app was already spot on. Please don’t mess with something that did not need changing..Version: 9.8

Terrible waste of timeThis app is clumsy, poorly laid out and has frequent issues. The menu system is very hard to understand. There are so many buttons which take you to strange places. Every page, every menu, every part of the navigation is all different. You click on an item one day, and the next day it takes you to a different page. At this moment I have lost the 'now playing' screen and it is nowhere to be found. This means I can no longer do things like: pause the music, go back, go forward, skip etc. Sometimes you’ll get the button to take you to the right screen, and sometimes it just won’t appear. Though it is very easy to accidently delete music from the album playlist, because swiping left takes you to another screen, but it also deletes things. There’s a swipe-up menu which is in the same spot as the IOS swipe-up menu. They want to you pay more money for the app to play music on the handset too. This app is a tremendous time-waster and you will pull your hair out trying to get it to do what you want..Version: 9.0.3

If you own the old version it's a rip offThe interface is new, improved in some areas but worse in others. The first version was not built for iPad, there was no upgrade path when the iPad version was released, you had to pay the full cost. Now the iOS 7 version comes out and is supposed to be all new blah, blah, blah. It's just a way to make another load of money. If you have the old version just don't bother with the new one. I'd like my money back..Version: 7.0.1

Impossible to follow the logicJust want to search for artists!!! 30 minutes to figure it out - until I give up.Version: 9.6.1

Good but problemsThis is a great idea however if I select the first track of an album it plays a few seconds of the track and the jumps to a track further in the album. If I select an album and play from there the album plays fine. Not an ideal word round. I can’t see anything obviously wrong and I don’t get the problem when using the Squeeze Box Touch. Internet radio is great..Version: 9.7.4

I had such high hopes!I bought the app because Logitech no longer supports Squeezebox. I thought this app would work. Problem is that it takes too long to load my songs off my PC (my music). Also no support of Pandora (app that is still on my Squeezebox). How do i get my money back?.Version: 9.6.1

Hmm.I was a very contented user of iPeng 6. I was forced by a rebuild of my phone & upgrade to ios11 on my 5S to _buy_ and install iPeng 9. Compared to iPeng 6 it’s buggy, laggy and has a more confusing UI with numerous hard-to-identify glitches. Don’t upgrade unless you have to..Version: 9.5.1

Junk App. Wrecked a fully indexed Apple iTunes library.Imported to Zenmini. Circa 50 Gb. About 70% misapplied or missing.. I have no idea why Innuos recommend this useless app...Version: 9.7.4

No useful improvements on iPhoneThe redesigned interface on the iPad is certainly a bonus but I am disappointed with the new interface on the iPhone version, which I use as my primary Squeezebox controller. Where has the Home button gone? I now have to scroll back through various screens to get back to the main menu. Why are there two play buttons ( one at the top and bottom) of each screen? Although it is now possible to hide items in the main menu, the ability to select items on the Tab Bar has been lost. In my view the superb functionality of iPeng has been degraded in this version by superfluous restructuring. Yes and I don't need to have it in black!!!!!.Version: 7.0.1

Very Buggy, Not Really UsableThis app has a good reputation but I've got to say I don't think it's deserved. The latest version, just downloaded, seems to have lots of bugs on my iPad. - Volume controls only work sometimes. - Skip forwards doesn't work (skip back does). - Stops playing if you try to use AirPlay. Wish I hadn't bought it, deleted it now. Cash down the drain..Version: 9.4.1

Not working for meLooks like it could be a good app. Can see my innuos but don’t get any sound coming through my system. Not getting much help from ipeng either so can’t recommend.Version: 9.7.1

Paying twice for it.I bought iPeng for my iPad and everything seemed to work apart from playing the actual music!!!! Now it wants me to pay again to play music!!,, It never played the first time I paid so why would I have confidence in the product:(.Version: 9.7.4

Unable to log in after updateThe app no longer sees my players and does not log into the squeezebox website. It’s a blank. Annoyed that I paid for this..Version: 9.7.4

I REALLY don't like it.Sadly, this is the only way I can operate my innuos zenith. I am not joking, I am seriously considering going back to my old Aries mini due to this app..Version: 9.4.1

Great, but auto-starts in my carGreat UI, functionality, and reliability. I docked 2 stars for an edge case that gets me regularly. If iPeng is not running, neither FG nor BG, and iTunes is running in BG but not playing (so that it remembers my last pause), then when I start my car, its audio system finds my Bluetooth phone and tells it to resume. I expect iTunes to resume. Instead, iPeng starts and takes over, shows Squeezebox on my car’s display, and starts my Squeezeboxes in the house via my home WiFi that’s still accessible, just as I’m driving away. My wife has to turn it off, and I have to get out my phone and explicitly start iTunes. I have not purchased the Playback feature, either, not that it would help away from home. Other audio apps I have don’t do this..Version: 9.3.2

Doesn’t workWon’t work with my innuos zen MK11 my zen as the Logitech server installed on it, so thought this would work. Seen another reviewer say it controls is Zen mini so thought it would work, wasted £8-99 plus the £4-99 for the in app purchase, any chance of a refund? As I have no need for it and have deleted it. Update Innous said ipeng is only used to control my Zen when using USB I’m using Ethernet so I guess it’s not the app that’s at fault,.Version: 9.5.1

Family sharing doesn’t workAlthough the app says it allows family sharing it doesn’t work. Either make it work or remove the advertised feature..Version: 9.7.2

Work In ProgressI've gone back to using the previous version on my iPhone 4G. The new version is crazy buggy on mine. I've not tried it on an iPad yet but hopefully it will be better. So I'm looking on it as an investment in the future versions rather than any level of satisfction with this one, otherwise it would have been a 1 star as a stand alone. Based on previous performance they'll get there so I'm sticking with it. I have really appreciated iPeng, and the previous version is superb so please don't let yourself down guys; get the testing done!.Version: 7.0.1

Get rid of the custom fontUse the system font. Seriously. Just don’t use a custom font, ever. Also, save the app prefs ON THE PHONE. It’s infuriating to open the app and have different buttons at the bottom of the UI that I didn’t pick only to have them reset to my preference anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes later..Version: 9.0.2

8.0.3 a dud?The 8.0.3 update refuses to see any of my three squeezeboxes. Back to 8.0.1..Version: 8.0.3

Malware, reads personal data from clipboardSeems to have started randomly reading from the clipboard to steal pastes. Delete immediately..Version: 9.7.4

Auto pasting? Really?Version 9.8.4 returns with … spyware! You keep attempting to paste from other apps. This is both annoying (as iOS can see you do it and prompts me) and enraging, since I paid money for this app. This is garbage freeware behavior. Knock it off..Version: 9.8.4

BrokenSynch working at all with OIS - players randomly stop working but synced players carry on, or won’t start when already synced. Also continually bombarded with requests to upgrade to UE. Support won’t respond. Given the only reason not to migrate is that UE doesn’t support synchs of non-squeezebox radio products this makes the app entirely useless. Looking for an alternative..Version: 9.7.4

FrustratingWill not detect a player or server, despite them currently running, and despite taking all steps suggested by iPeng..Version: 9.7.4

Great app. Since upgrade to iPhone 13 issuesIntermittently, I get distorted audio (sounds like being in a wind tunnel) since I upgraded my phone from iPhone X to iPhone 13. My network environment has not changed. I close then re open the app and it seems to fix the issue. It only happens when I use the phone as the player. Playing directly from my squeezebox server connected to my amplifier there is no issue. I have squeezebox version 8.2.0. Please help! Thanks !.Version: 9.7.4
