✓ Looks good but isn’tThere is no way to filter the daily schedule for either country or for sports. The filters for Sports and NOC are blank. It’s also impossible to tell from the main schedule page which event is which and no drop downs to see either. I have spent all morning trying to figure out the rowing schedule for example and have to click back and forth and back and forth because a) there is no event description open the main page so they all look the same “ROW” b) the rowing events are not on time schedule so it can’t be tracked via time slot.Version: 4.42.0

✓ DisappointingToo much “news” not enough stats. You should be able to choose more than one favourite country. The athlete search is not intuitive and doesn’t given enough options. Athletes and medal tally hidden away. No in progress scores for sports. The “latest” tab is superfluous or at least shouldn’t have such prominence. I don’t recall the London or Rio apps being so poorly designed, and having spent a lot of time in the past month on the Tour Tracker app, it’s fair to say other international sporting events are doing it so much better..Version: 4.42.0

✓ Too basicThe medal table isn’t updating quick enough, you can only choose one country to get updated on. However, I’m not getting any notifications, despite having notifications switched on. Little to no information about each Athlete, can follow your fave Athletes to see when they are competing and how they are doing. ✓ How was this approved for use?The app under-delivers spectacularly. The links are not working or non-existent, not sure if that’s by accident or design. For example, viewing the schedules I can see that the Men’s Single Sculls Heat 1 has already finished but when I select it, no results are shown? Why, where are the results? If viewing the country page, there are interesting country facts like the flagbearer, or the anthem and it’s composer etc. But there is no mention of the athletes on that page? You have to go back from the country pages to find the athletes page and then start filtering. So much simpler if there is a direct link from the country page. It is IMPOSSIBLE to view which athletes are competing in which heats, and equally, to see the results after the events. There is no option to “favourite” events so that it’s easy to find the ones you really want to watch. Considering there has been an extra year to get ready for this event, it’s astounding that the app is so incredibly bad. For an event on the global stage, whoever approved this app for use should be ashamed..Version: 4.42.0
✓ This is a terrible appThis app is a major step backwards compared to previous Olympics. Events appear in a long chronological list and if you filter it goes back to day 1 of the games. Scores are never updated. I can’t find start lists. No support if you follow multiple countries. Completely useless..Version: 4.42.1

✓ DisappointingIt’s bad enough you can only follow three countries. Then you go to the medals, and no screen shows a ranking of top medal winners. You just see your three favorites and then a laundry list of countries. Worse still, the medals are not even totaled, you have to search for the country and then add up the medals. That’s easy for a country that has only won a fee medals, not so easy for Norway or Germany. I just I use the app on my phone, so it may be better on a computer or tablet. But using it on my I-phone is frustrating at best..Version: 3.9
✓ No Landscape View On iPadWhy this app hasn’t been modified for iPad is unbelievable. Landscape orientation for iPad is a basic requirement for most people, which makes this app pretty useless unless you want to use it on your iPhone. ✓ Fails on its most important functionAll I really needed from this app was to be able to favourite the events I wanted to watch to have my own little schedule and be notified when those events were on. Seems like a simple enough ask but was not achieved in the slightest. ✓ Awful appWould be nice if this app told me the schedule of events to be broadcast, all it can accurately tell you is what is on right at that moment. The page for medal winners is a joke, you can barely tell the difference between gold and bronze. This is the least user friendly app I’ve downloaded in awhile. ✓ No live feedI was surprised to find that the official app (is this even official?) wasn’t streaming anything live at all! I don’t see how this is even remotely beneficial. Sure, it will take you to a website to watch some things but the website doesn’t even work. I can’t watch them live at the moment because I am traveling and I thought this would be a good place to watch instead of on TV, how wrong I was. ✓ Tough to navigateThe app is not very intuitive or user friendly. For example, if I want to find out how the men’s decathlon ended, then I cannot easily find it. There is no search function. There are pages and pages and pages of start times, and three cryptic letters: ATH. There is lots of space next to the time and these three letters to spell out which competition it actually is, but that hasn’t been done, so you’re just looking at a few hundred ATH start times, and you have to click on everyone of them, to see what it is. You also cannot find in which sports a certain country has medaled. E.g. Germany has 10 Gold medals - but which discipline? Extremely time consuming to figure it out with this app, it needs a complete overhaul..Version: 4.43.0

✓ What happened to the Paralympics?I really liked this app for the 2020 summer games. It was really neat to have both the Olympic information and the Paralympic information in one app. I kept it on my phone for the winter games since they’re so close together this time around. Great information for the Olympic Games: the schedule, results, medal count, rules, articles, etc. The only info I can find regarding the Paralympics is the occasional article. I looked for an alternative app. My thought was maybe there’s a separate one fully devoted to the Paralympics; I was wrong. It’s disappointing..Version: 7.0.0
✓ Next to uselessIt is near impossible to get interim results (standings) for sports such as curling, hockey, or just about anything. Filters are non-functional on a tablet. I get to touch “Add Filter” at the top of the screen; choice of filter categories comes up in the middle of the screen; when I select a category such as sport, there are NO sports listed, only a Back button. The medal table is about 24 hours out of date so I have to go to Google all the time to get the updated table. 2. ✓ Useless clunky appI wanted somewhere that would be handy to see the Olympics schedule, that’s why I downloaded this app. It does have it, but UX is terrible and it lacks basic functionality, such as setting up reminders for specific events. The filters are not remembered by the app, and selecting a favorite country only influences what country is shown at the medal count. ✓ It’s almost worth not even botheringOk so this app has some major issues which are: - needs to be force closed to update - fails to send notifications 95% of the time - has no way to submit feedback to the developers - has a really clunky layout - you’re locked to only following 8 sports and 1 country…but this doesn’t matter anyway as the notifications don’t work I needed this app primarily to alert me when events and my country were about to compete. It has failed at this pretty much every time. The two times it did alert about medals I got them more than an hour after they happened. ✓ A bit buggyI’m not sure why this has stopped working so suddenly but it has. Whenever I click on an event on the schedule list there is no info and the screen is blank. The events with the live tag also don’t seem to be accurate all the time. Some events are also not listed on the schedule despite them being live streamed at the time. It seems the app is behind on updating the info by quite a while and it’s a bit frustrating. This app is full of good content, but it’s messy, hard to find, filtering is weird and constantly resets to day 1 when you change anything. The Olympics are a massive event, and this app was always going to be really hard to get right. The “plus” button in the top right of an event you manage to find doesn’t actually add to anything (I was hoping I could favorite events) - instead it takes you to a content hub about that event. I’m pretty sure that nobody actually wanted that. You can’t see the draws or groups for any team sports, nor follow a sport or an athlete. The notifications are spotty and weird. Results should be separate to schedule and home page generic, like a logo with news separate. Common sense Update for Winter 22 6 months on and still as useless for results and website is no better. No breakdown on medals, for example if you clicked on the Gold Medal icon on any particular team I’d expect it to then show a list of the winning competitors and what sport it was. It’s currently well after end of Sunday’s sport but the medal table in the app does not show the current GB medal total? Reducing rating by one star. There is a lot in the app. The breadth of content is great. It’s a little fiddly to use on a phone though. Not yet tried it on a tablet hopefully it’s a bit easier on there. ✓ Bug in ScheduleThere appears to be a bug in the Schedule - it doesn’t let you change the date past the current day. No choice to see their athletes or anything. To look at the athletes you have to search. Which is hopeless how can you search for athletes you don't know. Please add each country's team eg China - list all their athletes under sub headings of the different sports. Even clicking on a sport only shows TOP athletes from now and 50 damn years ago. ✓ Metal winnings hard to followThis app makes it hard to follow who won metals. You have to really search to see which country and especially which athlete won. I miss the metal race line out also. I don’t really want to see how many metals have been given out in total so far but who won them. ✓ Youth OlympicsSo we were all set to watch the app for the alpine streaming events as indicated would be live. We wound up watching no video but rather a timer with 1 interval and finish. Pretty disappointing for the people who are not speed skaters or curling. These were the events throughout the day that actually had video. ✓ Lots of work to do!!I love keeping up to date with many countries, especially in the football, but 18 hours after games are played there are still no results posted. Also, allot of medals have been awarded in other events but not updated on the app, who is running this thing? There isn’t even an option to link future events to a calendar which is very poor considering most sports in the world have this option. 2nd rate app designers used who had 5 years to make a great app and failed. As of right now it says Australia has 3 gold medals but on google it says we have 6 That’s a big difference lol It also frequently lags and crashes. If you try to search for a specific team for a specific sport you get a cryptic error message saying it is not formatted correctly. The Home page says something like ‘oops something went wrong’. I want to use this as a way to complement what I watch on the official broadcaster, and while I can to a certain extent, It is extremely flawed. Issues: 1. No landscape view on IPad 2. When searching for events for coming day, it resets to first day and you have to scroll through to todays date. 3. When you do select a date, the Live indication is wrong on events 4. Taking too long to put finished on each event when the results are published 5. When publishing results, things like splits and other statistical information disappear when event is finished. Eg in Slalom Kayak, while they are racing, you have time splits, but they disappear after the next competitor finishes. Weight lifting should have all weights attempted by competitors. ✓ Pauses background audioWhy does opening the app pause background audio? No audio plays in the app. I can’t even resume my music and return to the app because it pauses it immediately again. Pausing background audio should only happen if I choose to play audio/video in the app. Very hostile. I wish I could filter content by my favorite sports, particularly for the schedule. ✓ Weak AppGives me the information I need, though simple functionality is lacking resulting in a poor user experience. Every time I open the app, I need to apply the same filters - country. Selecting a country then resets the date filter, bringing me back to the start of the games. You can’t set alarm notifications, notifying me when an event is going to start. ✓ Why change a great app??Previous apps had a WAAAYYY better UI and like easier to find events and times. Used to be able to search for actual athletes by country by event just by clicking on the event or country. ✓ Could be betterThe point of the Olympics is to watch your favorite sports and follow your country. The schedule feature is terrible at that. Yes you can filter by sport or country but you can’t save an event for later so you have to keep checking. And you can’t follow your favorite athletes either. ✓ A big miss with this app.First, I am on a 12.9” iPad Pro and am unable to use this app in Landscape mode. It is very awkward trying to hold this in portrait mode. Second, I keep getting “Oops! something went wrong” errors. These happen whenever I try to access content under “Featured” or “Related.” I attempted to view an air pistol shooting video that was 22 hours old and I got that error. I then tried to find the skeet shooting finals which I was sure would have a very short video, but was unable to locate anything. The videos I did find I kept getting the error message “oops! Something went wrong.” No one who developed this app has seriously sat down with it and attempted to use it to access the Olympics. I am wondering if anyone on the development team even knows or cares about the Olympics. I wouldn’t think so based on this app. It is not user-friendly. I will add that I have plenty of free space on this iPad. I am also running a current version of iOS. I also allowed cookies to be enabled. I did not register for an Olympic ID as I figured the app would work fine without it..Version: 4.42.0
✓ HorribleThe app is confusing and difficult to navigate, lots of layout problems, with word on top of others. Tried to filter the sports my country of choice was competing and there was wrong information - didn’t show a competition that was happening live! Absolutely horrible..Version: 4.42.1

✓ Great content, needs better in app updatesContent and amount of information is amazing! To be able to see every event down to the minute is great. However the app doesn’t auto update so when I click live it only shows the events since I had opened the app. I have to close the app down and reopen for the update to occur. ✓ Statistics are badly out of date / functions questionable.Try to figure out if the times are local to the user. Why apps can’t display the time zone next to times to make it clear. Adding results to completed events would help. But worse is the medals tab is out of date as that tab shows me the a country has zero medals at all, while the home table snippet on medal count shows the country has 5. So the medals table may not be even be update live. Ugh. IOC - who not to get to write software. And of course where one expects links there are none. So when you see a medal in a table you expect to click on the line for the entry and be taken to the summary of the finals, etc. But there is a massive lack of basic links in the data to the details- it’s too much work to try and work your way through. The Olympics seem to be determined to be irrelevant..Version: 4.42.0
✓ Needs improvementThis app could really use a couple of improvements. First, it’s more useful to get a total of medals of ALL countries, ranked be most medals won. I can tell how many medals USA has won, but would like to see how that compares to all countries. Second, I can tell who won a medal in a certain event, BUT, if I want to see how a favorite athlete did who didn’t win, it’s difficult-not impossible-to locate that information..Version: 3.7
✓ Good but could’ve been betterI’m a bit disappointed to see that it’s a step back from the app developed for the 2016 edition in Rio. With everything going on at the moment I don’t want to be too harsh, and the organisers and volunteers are doing their best. It would have been great if we had been able to filter the events by country and set reminders for the events. The design is a bit underwhelming as well.
