✓ App functions as it’s supposed to but…App functions well and I watch the different regions of news and like it. But there have been continuous ads from one political party consistently pushing lies and sounding extreme and not any other candidates have seen have any airtime yet. ✓ Only half the newsI used to love haystack news for its ability to find only the new segments that were interesting to me. But then politics came in to play. Now haystack will no longer play Newsmax segments and repeatedly skips the video. I also find that the default news sources feeds are heavily weighted to one side of the political spectrum. Not only is this dangerous for either side but it does not give the complete picture of the news. Counter arguments are extremely important and help people bounce their thoughts and ideas off of alternative sources so that they can better gauge the legitimacy their views..Dave804Version: 3.41

✓ Random TV ClipsIt’s a good app because it lets me stream random TV clips and have it on in the background. Everything from News to celeb gossip, documentaries and more. Only downside is it prevents my iPhone 8 from sleeping which is odd but the rest is ok..WeTheDylanVersion: 3.22

✓ No “Sign In with Apple” optionI thought Sign In with Apple was mandatory if the app provides other third party options like Facebook and Google. Surprisingly though, Haystack was able to get away with not providing Sign In with Apple option. Until Haystack implements that option, I ain’t using it. Not giving my data to unethical companies like Facebook and Google! By not providing Sign In with Apple option, Haystack also appears to be siding with these unethical companies and their unethical data collection practices!.SamP2020Version: 3.36

✓ Great app but...Needs more to be perfectI have this on my smart tv and tablet. It’s the first thing I turn on in the morning. I love the app... it’s an awesome concept. I like having local and national channels plus the weather all together. I like that you can define topics you’re interested in. As some else mentioned, the news needs to refresh more frequently. I would like to see the topics you choose only pull from the channels you select. I would really like to see Fox News and OAN added to national channels. ✓ Opinions, not newsI tried watching news using Haystack for 6 weeks. Most of the videos presented to me were from outlets that presented opinions, not news. The only source that actually gave me information rather than interpreting it for me was Al Jezeera. ✓ Latest update not greatUsed to love Haystack. I turn it on in the morning and get my news of the day. Also get to watch some Late Night. But after the latest update, it works different and I don’t like the change. I’ll be watching a story and it will cut out to update the stories. Be great if it went back to the story I was watching, but it doesn’t. Seems to update more than twice while I’m watching. Something has happened to the Late Night category. It used to be diverse and have lots of clips from different late night shows. These days there’s sometimes only five clips. Or sometimes there will only be clips from one show. Like I’ll only be able to watch old Conan. I’m not a fan of Conan or old shows so that’s not nice. I’ve changed settings to no avail. I used to be able to turn Haystack on and walk around either watching or just listening. Now I have to run back to continue stories or get rid of old Conan. ✓ STOP Autoplay!!UPDATE: Am today deleting this app. I will not keep on my iPad *any* app that autoplays video the moment it’s launched, that won’t allow us to order the categories as we see fit, and that decides on its own which hashtags I am going to follow. ✓ Good idea in theory but has some concerning issuesThere should be no reason why this app only plays the local Fox affiliate when searching for local news stations. I live in a major market, there are many local news stations here. Unlike them the Fox affiliate isn’t even based in this city but rather a suburb much further out. Omitting so many news outlets could have a dangerous impact on folks who don’t realize they have other options and that there’s important stuff happening at the local level as well. But hey, the app seems to work pretty well and connect users to larger news stories. It’s just that it’s marketed as a local news app, and it isn’t..AmandakayrhoadesVersion: 3.38

✓ Content concernsHow is the algorithm supposed to get smarter when the only sources I’m offered are biased to the left source material. Search Fox News and nothing pops up, regardless of opinions you’d offer a range of sources to include those who don’t fit your ideologies. ✓ Good but does not work with T-MobileThis is a nice app but it does not work when my iPhone is on T-Mobile connection. It works fine on wifi but if I am away from my home network the the app is dead. I reported this to the company many months ago but I guess they do jot care enough to correct it. ✓ Was great, now not!I have been enjoying your channel on Roku for a while now. But suddenly this morning my newsfeed is showing me nothing but sports and sports scores and recaps. I would have never selected sports ever to watch. And it’s not even a channel to select when you’re choosing your channels. I’ve deleted the app, restarted my TV, and then re-download it again, select weather and current events and it’s the same thing. I’ve never even watched any of the sports news on there. No matter what I do I cannot get it back to normal. And used to, every time I would open it, it would open up with the weather and then you would see a lot of variety of different news clips from different news agencies and it was all very interesting.. about the trials going on in the country etc and all these great news bits. ✓ Not Good EnoughCompared to the Roku app, this falls way short. It is very difficult to get any stations that are local to you if you’re in a very small city. And you can’t just select a particular network. Like Abcnews or just cheddar news. AND it is still hard to filter out news you don’t want to see.
