✓ Update crashes on iPhone 7+.5 star app. 1 star update. I’ve been enjoying this app for a long time and I think it’s brilliant. However, the latest update will not open on my iPhone 7 Plus. Please fix. Thanks. Update: it now works on my iPhone, even with no update. Strange but true!.Version: 4.1.3

✓ So glad it started working againProvoke Camera is one of my favorite camera apps. I love the different B+W filters (especially the high contrast ones) and love the stark atmosphere it gives my pictures. I was sad and worried when I was unable to use it for a long time because it would immediately shut down after starting up. Apparently a lot of other users had the same problem. About a month or so ago the app was updated but it still couldn’t get the app to open. What I ended up doing was deleting the app and reinstalling it and the app started working again. If you’re still having problems getting the app to open, try deleting and reinstalling it. Hopefully that will help!.Version: 4.1.5
✓ Nobody reviewed this?!Wha?! Where are all the reviews this deserves? Awesome B&W camera! Beautiful film that you just cannot get anywhere nowadays. I easily managed a beautifully grainy bokeh effect behind my subject – no other app can pull off what I mean. Extremely easy to use, practically zero learning curve, no clutter. This is for when you want to actually take nice pictures rather than point and shoot and then drown your shot in digital effects to a point beyond recognition. For some reason, produces insanely sharp images of subjects almost touching the lens, pseudo-macro ability. Separate manual focus and exposure that you can slide around with your finger is a nice touch. I would like to have a zoom on this. Edited to request manual control of the lens selection on iPhone7+. If we could override the automatic lens selection in iOS and force the use of the 56mm lens even when not making portraits, this app would be perfection and deserve five stars..Version: 3.3.2

✓ Provoke-era B&WThe Provoke-era photographers were masters of expressive black and white. This excellent app recalls that era with many interesting choices of monochrome "looks." Easy to use UI and hi-res output make Provoke a great addition to anyone's app collection. Great for street shooters but also good for landscape, still life, and portraits. ✓ Black and white photography lover's wet dreamBeautiful and simple app that does what it's supposed to - create the best black and white images (if you like the raw Japanese style it emulates). I was creeping into the crass world of colour slowly and this app brought me back to the beautiful darkness of black and white. Of course, just like any new app, there are bugs that need to be fixed. Till then, a few minor issues here and there don't matter (to me at least) when you see the photos this app produces. One thing that frustrate me a little bit though - touch to focus doesn't seem to be working. But regardless - this is a wonderful app that I see myself using over and over again!.Version: 1.0

✓ Are bure bokehIf you're familiar with post war Japanese photography or heard of Daido Moriyama or seen the cult classic Solitude of the Ravens you know the dark edgy grainy, blurry out of focus look used by many of these photographers. Daido Moriyama along with others started a magazine called Provoke to feature this (at the time) new, cutting edge photography. Thus the name of this app. It's excellent and great fun for creating grainy high contrast images with different looks. Used with the right image (you can use it as a camera or apply its filters on images in your camera roll) your work can take on the look mentioned above..Version: 1.12

✓ IPhone camera’s best kept secretI honestly don’t know how this app has so few reviews. I stumbled across it and it has COMPLETELY changed the way I think of my iPhone as a camera. I shoot exclusively on film and only ever pull out the iPhone out of convenience. But whilst on a trip to LA I’ve basically found myself leaving my Mamiya behind on hikes because this app is that good. The emulations are accurate, the flash options extremely handy, and while the UI is a bit clunky and unresponsive, the results are outstanding. Absolute game-changer..Version: 4.7

✓ Solid appI've been impressed with Provoke since I downloaded it. Very simple to use and the filter options are nice. I definitely would like to see both focus and exposure controls available and offering different file formats (i.e .tiff etc) would be nice. I emailed Toshihiko concerning something about the app and he emailed me back quickly with an answer which was nice to see. Keep up the great work!.Version: 1.0
