Crane Connect for Positive User Reviews

Crane (won't) Connect to Aldi (not so) smartwatchAldi smart watch won't connect to mini ipad ios 9 due to firmware upload glitch. Ridiculous that aldi didn't check this before selling the watches nationwide. Total waste of money and time..Version: 1.2.9

Activity TrackerGot the activity tracker two days ago and very pleased with it thus far. The app was very easy to calibrate with the tracker and the readings seem pretty accurate. You can fiddle with the settings to adjust your step size if the count is slightly out. The sleep tracker impressed me; it picked up the specific points in the night when the cat woke me up for food! So far so good....Version: 1.0.2

Works Well with Activity TrackerThe wristband and the app paired quickly and correctly, and continues to work nearly one week later. My first charge only lasted three days, but it's been another three and is saying the battery's still full. I must not have let it completely charge. The app itself could be more intuitive. I feel like I'm constantly fumbling around to find the data I want. I also wish I could sync the device with the ShapeUp app I use through my company. I've just been transcribing the data from one app to another. I would like to know more about how the device calculates some things, such as calories consumed. I'm not entering anything, yet it is providing me a number. I'm also having some issues with step numbers not being accurate. I'm usually about 500 steps off my old fashioned pedometer by the end of the day with the Crane device registering more steps. Other than these minor issues, I love the device, the price and the app..Version: 1.0.3

Good appYou people that are complaining obviously don't know how to read instructions or use a phone. I'm having no problems with this app. If you know what your doing then this app is great..Version: 1.2.1

Works! IFFFFF......You have to put your address and turn on location services. I first tried to do it without turning those on and putting my address in and I could not login online and register. As soon as I turn on location services and put my address in I was able to register and Bluetooth my scale. Once I was able to Bluetooth the scale and it worked perfectly..Version: 1.2.1

Fitness tracker watchBought a fitness tracker watch which is compatible with this app. The app works absolutely fine with watch. I’m having no problems at all, was worried reading all the reviews but needn’t have been. Tracks everything perfectly with the watch..Version: 1.6.7

Good app but needs one major thingI have had no issues with the app, or the scale, they are both good. However I would love to see it linked to Apple Health app as a data source!.Version: 1.6.4

Email not received as of yetJust bought one,to have as a comparison to my other fitness tracker. Have not received the email yet that is said to have been sent 😢. Will rate higher once get email and see how the tracker works out ***UPDATED***I had emailed support and within a few hours a helpful staff member got back to me with a new link to register my account! 2 different countries and time zones! I am loving the easy interaction, and am enjoying comparing the crane activity tracker and having it compliment my other tracker. Going great so far (havnt tried wearing it during dish washing or shower yet).Version: 1.3.4

Works fine for meI use it to connect to an Activity Tracker purchased at Aldi's. The app does what it advertises and I am relatively happy with its performance. Would be great if it supported HealthKit but I doubt that will happen soon..Version: 1.3.2

Happy some bugs fixed but still issuesUpdated review .... I have the band, scales and heart monitor. No problems connecting watch but recommend you do the synch from within the app. If scales don't connect you may need to take out battery and reinsert. I’m having a problem now with phone not finding scales. Was perfect until needed new scale batteries. Stone setting now fixed. You can't have kilo for weight and miles for distance only imperial or metric. Also my watch loses time often 2 mins and I have to keep re-syncing with the phone. Apart from these annoyances I love it and use it daily..Version: 1.6.8

Crashing is fixed in iOS 10.3.2I was also having the crashing problem others reported, but after I updated my phone to iOS 10.3.2 the app works again so I can fairly review it. It's a decent fitness app for the price you pay for the tracker. It doesn't sync with Apple's HealthKit or MyFitnessPal, which I see as big drawbacks. But the tracker is affordable and I think it's a good way to try one out to see if you like it/would use it before investing in a better one..Version: 1.5.8

Good value!Bought the Crane Activity Tracker at Aldi's on sale for $35, figured it would be an inexpensive way to judge fitness bands. The fitness band works with this app, I'm using it on an iPhone 5 with iOS 9, the Bluetooth sync is quick and easy, the fitness data displays with steps, calories, distance, workout time, and it also tracks sleep, very similar to Fitbit Charge for less than half price, works well enough if you're not sure you want to buy more expensive fitness bands..Version: 1.3.2

More additionsThe app works well, with the activity tracker and the blood pressure monitor. Not being able to use the tracker in the swimming baths is a pain. Most of my activity takes place at Osteo sessions at the local baths. Could there be a way of entering water based activities into the app?.Version: 1.0.2

App crash fix2 updates and no crash fix.. However - deleting, reinstalling and logging in, recovered all data and fixed the crash issue for me..Version: 1.3.2

Beware of supported phones / tabletsI have just wrestled for over 2 hours getting this to work - I seen all the problems users have reported - crashing app - unable to synch - app won't open - I have an iPhone 4S which I thought was supported - turns out its only 2 specific versions of the 4S it works with- tried again from scratch with my wife's iPad mini and it all worked first time perfectly - the app is very cool - the bracelet is excellent quality. The extra strap and clip on attachment make this overall a much better buy than my wifes £75 Fitbit.Version: 1.3.2

Activity trackerI contacted customer support with the issues I and others had been having with the app not working and device not pairing up. They responded to try to turn off Bluetooth and turn on again and delete and reinstall app. When I told them I had done that multiple times they then said to expect an e-mail with a link to the app in test flight and to let them know if I still experienced an issue. I downloaded app from e-mail and within seconds, my unit paired to my iPad. Their customer service went above and beyond to help me since this unit has a clip also since I can't wear a watch to work. If you are still having issues, I suggest you contact customer service..Version: 1.2.1

Promised fixYippee! After six days my Activity Tracker is again talking to my iPhone. I have no idea if it is because the elves at Crane or at Apple have been working away to come up with a solution but the glitch has been sorted. In a straw poll with friends who have other makes of activity trackers we all agreed that Aldi had produced the best one overall so I have removed my temporary (whilst glitch was winning) one star rating and gone back to (now that glitch has been banished) five stars. If you are thinking of getting a tracker this one is terrific..Version: 1.2.6

Great alternativeThe app appears to work fine with the activity tracker. Both mine and my wife's connected without any issues first time. Only one thing I'm yet to understand is on the main screens of 'steps' & 'calories', the totals are different to the weekly/monthly/year summary page?? At the moment main screen says I've done 4596 Steps burning 1910 calories but on todays summary page it shows 4386 steps burning 906 calories. But I'll read the manual again to check..Version: 1.0.2

WOW!! AMAZINGI was looking for an app which was unreliable and crashed every time you logged in and boy did this app deliver!! 100%!! The only thing I'd like to see improved is that, sometimes the app actually stayed open for like 3 seconds, I'd much rather like an app that closed faster.(: all in all, if you're looking for an app that doesn't work, this is a great one!!.Version: 1.5.2

Love it!Initially the app crashed. I wrote Crane support, who said the newest version of iOS 9 had to be updated on my iPhone 4S. Worked like a charm! Happy to have an affordable activity tracker..Version: 1.3.2

Fixed crash issueAll who are experiencing the issue of crashing when opening the app. I suffered the same and it was driving me mad. Then noticed my iOS needed updating on my phone (I'm not good at updating my phone because i hate change). Anyway, did the update and it's working fine, give it a go it may just work. Good luck.Version: 1.3.2

Works well, isn't prettyLooking at the other reviews it sounds like this app is a bug-riddled mess but I've had no glitches or problems with it at all. It functions well, syncs with my watch and offers lots of cool statistics that I didn't previously care about until I started using this app. It IS a little clunky and weird to navigate though. I only use the Analogue Smartwatch, so why are there always all these icons for other gadgets clogging up the interface?.Version: 1.3.2

Need to register online!!!!I had the same problem as the other reviews here.... I found that I could register online at the Crane site, and then use that login information in the app. This way you can bypass the register error the app encounters. I have the scale. The app synced with the scale just fine and immediately updated my phone with the info. So it seems to run really well with the scale. That's all I can speak for, no other products. Four stars for the scale/app interface. I took one off for the frustration of having to figure the registration error out on my own....Version: 1.3.1

Activity trackerThe activity tracker is working great - on app just remember to swipe!! Needs to be more explanatory but is wonderful!!.Version: 1.0.3

Works GreatSynced right away with no crashing. $35 at Aldi. Had little trouble at first getting unit to start but contacted customer support and they got back immediately telling me to press reset button on back. Once that was done, everything lit up and it was ready to go..Version: 1.3.2

Great app.I had the same initial problem other reviewers had (crashing at login) but after updating to iOS 9, voila it works. App does everything I need it to, connect to my activity monitor, sync, show collected data... Etc. I definitely see potential for future functions added into the app..Version: 1.3.2

Works Great!!I had absolutely no problem syncing my device with my phone. I have not experienced any glitches as of yet; all is running fine so far. I am using the iPhone 6s+ to run this app. One of the videos had a few interruptions, but that was it..Version: 1.3.2

Eff off you lot, it's worked brilliantlyHad no issues whatsoever with the app, registration, connectivity, function and repeated function, all stuff other reviewers are moaning about. After initial pairing the day before, the second I stood on the scale with the app open, the weight showed up on the app instantly. Following the instructions, it worked a bloody treat. iPhone SE, crane bluetooth scale.Version: 1.5.8

App Is Using 4 GB of StorageI'm on my second Activity Tracker and second iPhone running the app. After about 2 years of use, the app is using just over 4 GB of storage space on my iPhone. Is there any way to reduce this? I am running out of storage space, and only my iTunes library uses more space than this app. Otherwise it works well enough, although syncing the device can be flaky..Version: 1.5.8

Worked fine for me too!Working well, syncs fine, just have to figure out how to add another User and I'm very pleased with it! Wish it spoke to my Fitbit app but otherwise all good. 😊.Version: 1.5.8

Analogue watch AldiGreat watch works well with calls messages etc ,very fiddly to set up at start, alarm functions work well and taking photos, one big fault is the fitness side, doesn't store previous day's steps etc on the app and seems to be way off in being accurate,if they can fix that 5 out of 5 it does what I wanted it to do but just needs the few issues fixed. Edited to 5!star as after update everything working as it should, thank you great watch love it.Version: 1.3.1

Works ok , but !!Ok on my iPad using blood pressure monitor, except individual readings show correct day and month but year is shown as 2014 even though system date is set as 2020. Suggest this is bug to be fixed. Regards.Version: 1.6.13

Works wellApp works well in conjunction with the fitness tracker. However I also have the scales, the app switches itself from stones to lbs and the graph doesn't correspond with my correct weight! Eg. Weight 9st 7lb. Graph shows 13 stone! Maybe a fix is required. Other than that I'm very happy. It's got me and my 10 year old more active in a competitive and fun way..Version: 1.0.3

Works great but can be improvedI don't know why others give so bad reviews about this app. It works when you follow the instructions. I'm using the scale bought from ALDI and it is pretty accurate. I really wish the app can be linked with Apple HealthKit and it could push all the valuable data into HealthKit so the other apps can utilise the data. I'll give 5 star if HealthKit connectivity is added in the future update..Version: 1.5.8

App crashesThe watch works well but the app crashes every time I try to sync the data, even after I have redownloaded the app.Version: 1.0.4

My scale does not syncMy scale did not work shortly after using it. I replaced the batteries... Works fine..Version: 1.3.4

Great valueActivity Tracker works great including deep sleep tracking and heart rate..Version: 1.6.7

Works OKWorks okay on iOS 9.1 if you charge the watch, pair through the app and exit the app when it prompts to update the watch firmware. Sets time, message alerts work fine. Just don't update the watch as a previous reviewer suggested..Version: 1.2.9

Great app need more featuresI'm using this app with the crane fitness tracker watch from Aldi. I love it! I would also love the ability to sync with the apple health app..Version: 1.3.8

Blood Pressure MonitorI have used the Crane Blood Pressure Monitor for the last 4 or 5 years. But finally got around to downloading the app. To record the history instead of writing down. It was easy to load, set itself up and works just fine. And the history was already there..Version: 1.6.9

Problem resolvedI have a heart rate monitor paired to my phone and an activity tracker, blood pressure monitor an scales paired to my iPad. All were working Ok when my phone stopped syncing with the web site. I contacted customer support who were extremely helpful and, after clarifying a few details got this working again. My iPad then stopped working, but again this was fixed. I would have preferred this just to work, but cannot fault the customer service I was given..Version: 1.3.8

Easy to use and wearI love this it's really comfy and holds the info I need - my sleep patterns are illuminating - wish the tracker would upload to my fitness app though to track calories in and out in one place but this is great value for money.Version: 1.5.2

Tracking Dept of SleepI’ve have this wireless activity trackers for years and I love it. However, recently 15th June 2020, this sleep tracker decided to stop working. Have been seeking for help and have looked on line for support. Tried everything they have suggested from deleting the app and reinstalling it, logging out then back in, turning off Bluetooth and back on, no joy. Would be grateful if anyone can assist me with this issue. Thank you.Version: 1.6.12

Worked perfectly for me!Not sure why the other reviewers had problems (inability to follow simple instructions, maybe?) but these scales work just fine! The app downloaded no problem, the set-up was straightforward and the scales connected to my phone without a hitch. Very happy. Only 4 stars because I'm not sure of the accuracy yet, but it is my first day..Version: 1.5.8

Developers have now fixed issues with App & Replaced Watch so overall I'm happyI did originally rate this app as 1 star, but after speaking with Crane Technical support they sent me a replacement smartwatch with the latest firmware installed. They have also since updated the app so the firmware upgrade is not required now. I can confirm that the replacement is working fine now and also no issues with the app. The only recommendation I can make now is that the app is polished up to give a better UI, but nonetheless I'm happy to give a 4 star rating now 😊.Version: 1.3.0

Great product, app could use more detailI purchased the activity tracker from Aldis and it is a fantastic value. 35$ for what 3 times cost would give me on another brand. Everything worked great out of box. The app works well too. Only thing I would like to be is allow you to drill into the sleep recorded data to within a 5 minute intervals or better, I like to see the times when I wake in middle of night. Right now if you look it is a static chart over a whole period of time. As well other portions of recorded data could be elaborated on more..Version: 1.3.2

Great fitness band and easy to use appA reliable, clear and easy to use app. This has worked seamlessly with my fitness band since last September when I bought it..Version: 1.3.8

Great productI bought this from Aldi on Sunday and it registered great. I downloaded the app and it all syncs great also. Great product and the only thing I will not give it a five star rating for is because I need to test it for a while and it hasn't got a heart rate monitor on. If you can buy it, get it. As apposed to the market leader I think it's great value for money . Well done Crane and Aldi..Version: 1.3.2
