✓ Great Hive management appThis is a great app for someone with a few or many hives who just wants the right amount of detail and wants to avoid too much complexity. Love the photo and map features. ✓ Nice to have at your fingertipsI like this app, but just realized (“discovered”) that when you take photos off your phone, the app hasn’t stored them separately. It only links to photos in your library, which makes it hard for me to imagine long-term photos for reference. I will hope that on-app storage will be added. S.Version: 2.9.5
✓ Love this appI have been using it for almost 2 years. Do not use some of the features, like equipment, and a few others, but really like the ability to check to see what was done the week before in the hive. I take pictures of all my queens, and keep track of my mite treatments. The ONE thing I do NOT like about this is the fact that my husband, or myself can not put this on another phone or device with my current information to be seen. No problem paying a fee for the additional device, but not good that my husband can not see what I have done prior. I worry what will happen if I changed phones. Do I lose all my data? Wish they would add that feature to share the data back and forth and then it would be perfect..Version: 2.9.5

✓ Works great for recording hive infoI’ve used this for about 3 years and latest version (3) makes it easier to add hives and such. Inspections are easy to record in the field so I don’t have to take notes then add later. I do wish it stored its own photos...as I don’t wish to have them in my photo albums and they get duplicated when I sync across devices. The new swarm section looks promising, as I was using the apiary and hive creator to record swarm trap locations. Thanks for creating this app!.Version: 3.0.0

✓ Great App if you have more than a couple hivesLast year with 4 hives I didn’t really see the value in this app but that changed as I increased the number of hives I’m working. Great way to keep notes and have immediate access to each hive’s and apiary’s history. ✓ Love this AppReally useful App has some great features like adding photos and exporting data. I’ve been using this app for over a year. Finance tool and note book tool is useful. To do list could be more useful eg tick complete. More pests and diseases could be added to the reference cards also only a few are shown. Mite count box could do with improving eg programming a ‘warning’ level and tracking numbers like we do frames of stores/brood. What would be this app great would be a log of queens. We can mark queen history in each hive but it’s not as useful as it could be. I’d like a log where you enter your queens name/number them and detail their heritage. ✓ Good-just missing a few featuresThis is a great app to use, as long as you have a protective case for your iPhone/iPad or have an old one you don’t mind getting covered in propolis. Most things you usefully want are covered although possibly an enhanced queen rearing section would be useful. However the key missing feature is an automated/iCloud backup and sync across multiple devices, rather than the rather convoluted manual process. ✓ Great app!I tried a few hive logging apps before choosing BeePlus for its ease of use and functionality. Mann Lake pushes HiveTracks, but this app is so much better! Honestly, HiveTracks is buggy, doesn’t always save data, and has a complicated interface. I’ve yet found an issue using BeePlus - it even syncs to-do items with iCal so you don’t forget stuff. I don’t use gloves so entering info in real-time isn’t an issue, and my hives are nowhere near a WiFi signal. Three thumbs up to the developers! Highly recommended!! 💜🐝.Version: 2.9.0

✓ No ability to “archive”I would like the ability to “archive” a hive instead of delete it. that was I can still reference notes and etc for that hive. The work around we’re currently using it to create an apiary named “archive” and transfer these dead outs to the archive apiary. Would be easy to implement by default. Thanks for consideration! ✓ Best App for Capturing Relevant Beekeeping InformationI have been using this app for tracking and inspecting my apiaries and hives. It has a great data structure and interface for maintaining quality information on colony health and apiary operations. I am a small outfit keeping 70 colonies and find it quick and easy to move through inspections on either my tablet or phone. With the data maintained on the device and backed up to iCloud it is not necessary to have cellular connection. The longer input is good for build up and quick input works great for consistent colonies during flow. Great job..Version: 2.8.1

If I could make a suggestion......please work on the transferability of the app between devices. I began using this app on my iPhone, but due to storage space, was forced to dedicate an iPad to the bees 😅. This is awesome, but reentering all the data is sooo meticulous when you have to start over from scratch for each device. Needs a tweak to the app that will allow devices to speak to one another OR the info tied to an account that will show the same information on whichever device is being used at the moment. I found it difficult and messy keeping paper records but this app makes it so much easier. I’m going to print the barcodes to stick on the hives so I just need to scan each hive as I get to them. Still take a notebook to apiary but now enter all relevant data into app and have all information at my fingertips. Primarily I use the the hives and inspection records. ✓ Very useful, 4 1/2 stars if I could.I have been using the app for this entire season in my small home apiary of 3 hives. I use it very basically & haven't made use of the financial tracking, ability to add photos, or the QR Hive ID functions yet. I do use the Inventory & map features as well as the inspection & to do. Being able to see at a glance the main points of each inspection without having to open the specific inspection record is great. I also like being able to see (in inventory) which hives are using a piece of equipment. You can also see the equipment being used in a specific hive in the hive view, so there is no need to switch to another screen in order to see that. I had an instance where I was unsure how to use the app for a situation in my apiary, and contacted the developer. The response was quick, helpful, and specific to my question. It was a perfect solution. Overall very pleased with this app! The half star I left off is just for little things. For example, I would like to see an option in the To Do list for showing the item completed instead of only being able to delete it when it has been done. (maybe check box or line through & the number of to do items adjusted accordingly. Maybe the option to move it to the inspection record that it was completed during.) But I am sure it is much easier to want than it is for the dev to actually make it happen! :).Version: 2.2.2

✓ Great App for Bee KeepingI'm a "newbie" bee keeper and it's amazing how much information you need to consider in managing bees effectively...after all they don't read the books! This app is simple to use, has most of the relevant data sets to collect information about apiaries and hives associated with them. The QR code is really useful as I can easily flip up the data with out going though screen. It easily transfers data to different reports (pdf, excel) and will be very useful for exams etc. Free txt and button style inputs means there is a logical and consistent collection of data. ✓ The BEST APP!This app is very well thought out. The layout is superb and very user friendly. And the ToDo list talks with my calendar!! As a former HiveTracks user, this app leaves HiveTracks in the dust! My reports are more detailed and I like to see a picture of the hive right next to the inspection report. I like the notebook feature to keep track of bloom times and other incidentals (such as recording when I last checked my solar fence chargers, when I changed the batteries etc. ) the timeline feature is fantastic. I found I couldn’t search hivetracks by date which was a pain when needing to find data on a specific date to upload to the Bee Informed annual survey. One of the best features is the ease of combining hives (and data; which is lost in HiveTracks) and tracking queens and daughter queens. The only thing I would change is a ”sold” category in addition to the transfer or merge categories for the NUCs I sell. I like a record of which queen goes to which buyer. I got around this by creating a “sold apiary” and just transfer the hive to it. But that’s my only suggestion. I’m still giving this one 5 Stars. I really love using it!.Version: 2.8.1

✓ Useful and easy tool, one suggestion.I only have three hives, so record keeping is quite simple as it is. Therefore, I do not use or need all of the features this app appears to offer. The app makes it simple and fun to record what I did, when I did it, and the condition of the hive. I especially like the photo adding features. Works well on an iPad. I would like to use the easy frame counting feature (how many have larva, capped, honey, pollen, etc.) while working the hive, but it’s too hard to use my iPad while holding frames. I skip that part and just record what remember after I’m done. Obviously a helper is necessary, but adding really large buttons for toggling the numbers up or down would help. Or, perhaps a way to make an audio recording which can later be transcribed into the log..Version: 2.6.3
✓ Please update and answer emailsWell been playing about with this for a few months now and yes it’s very good but does have its draw backs. 1: does not imbed pictures. 2: you can’t back up to Mac computer, for easier working. 3: does not support queen rearing. 4: when adding hive to an apiary, you can only add one at a time 😞 not good if you have 20 to 40 in each one. 5: barcodes can only be printed one size BIG, no good these need to be scalable. ✓ It’s a good app so far...Wish there was a way to sync it in the cloud between my IPad and IPhone. I just downloaded it yesterday, got all the info typed in on my IPad, which has a keyboard and was so bummed to see it didnt sync with the app on my phone. And i cannot find the area to put info on the queens? Maybe some of this will be put into a new update. But its a great little app for what it does..Version: 2.9.5
✓ Makes inspections easyI find using pen and paper to make notes when inspecting a hive difficult – my notes are often illegible and the paper gets in the way. Using my iPhone to take photographs of each hive as I go along, then using the simple interface on this app means I am actually keeping much better records then I did previously on paper, yet the task seems much less onerous. I use the comments field a lot – I dictate a brief report then add to it once I am back home. I load up any photographs I want to keep – a newly marked Queen, a funny looking play cup that I want to keep an eye on etc , and that gives me a much better sense of my the state of play of my hives than any of my paper records ever did. It is important not to delete any of the photos that you upload – if you delete them in the photo app they are deleted from your hive records: this is a bit of a flaw but only a minor one. For the money I think this is great value and has made hive record keeping much easier..Version: 2.9.5
✓ Best hive mgmt tool I’ve usedLove it! Super easy to use, way better than HiveTracks. I started by using the Quick Inspection mode with just the notes feature, but keep increasing the features I use as my hobby expands. This app is worth WAY more than what the developer is asking. ✓ Nearly PerfectI would give it a 5 star rating except for the inventory function. It would be really nice for the application to have a stored database of common beekeeping equipment found in any of the supply company catalogs. I personally only have 2 hives that I am tracking and just recently started looking at the inventory feature so it isn’t something that has been of great concern..Version: 2.8.1
✓ Easy to use and helpful for new beekeeperThis app is great for a new beekeeper. Information prompts good note taking. Easy to add or delete information. Always at your fingertips when you think of that one piece of information you should have included. Love the ability to add photos also. ✓ Great value and performanceThis app is great value for money. I recently started bee keeping (01Jan21) And wanted to keep careful record of my successes and failures. Having read one of the reviews that suggested the reviewer was affiliated with the App’s developer I cautiously duplicated my record keeping using a regular journal and tried other apps. That statement proved untrue. This app is easy to use and provides for excellent labeling of hives and swarm traps, setting tasks, equipment cost and record keeping and most important easy retrieval. Being a frugal bee keeper I like the benefits of keeping careful note of the location, cost and performance of my swarm traps. Like any other app it takes time to master the app you can elect to keep the help screens or refer to the extensive built in help. It’s Great!!!.Version: 3.0.2

✓ Really Love This App So FarNew keepers here. Two nucs installed into deeps. This app has really helped us keep our notes, costs, and equipment straight. Love that we can include photos in the inspection logs. The map feature is wonderful. An FAQ area could be helpful. It’s hard to find user suggestions on line. The sync feature was a bit tricky for us. Had to use the older link/button, couldn’t figure out the newer one, and didn’t realize we had to move the photo files separately from the data- but got it in the end. I’d love a spot to include a photo of each queen in the queen files, and I’m not sure yet about how to work the financial data yet since we haven’t harvested any honey yet... I looked at the honey log but haven’t figured it out yet. Guess we’ll see. But totally love it so far! 😎.Version: 2.6.4

✓ A useful tool and simple to use.Having used this for the 2016 season we have found this a useful tool to track our inspections. We are able to input valuable data that is easy to review, pictures can be added to further enhance the records. The app allows you to pinpoint apiary sites add things to do and add additional notes. Individual hives can be added to your apiary sites and records are neatly stored under their own title. You can also have multiple apiary sites in your records. The app is being developed all the time with free updates as and when made available this app is free. If like me you have an iPad and iPhone the records can be shared and updated via wifi. We have incorporated a picture of our medicines purchase and administration records for each hive as an additional back up of the paper copy these records need holding for 5 years. There is some limited guidance on diseases. We tend to make paper notes on site and update our records over coffee propolis on an iPad isn't great. In conclusion this app developed by bee keepers gives a great starting point for what records you need to keep and allow for additional notes as you feel fit. It works for us..Version: 1.5.0
