APPatient for Negative User Reviews

HopelessI had already put in a user name. Now I see I have to use my email address instead and I don’t know how to change it. This computer stuff is extremely difficult for elderly patients an there is nowhere to go for help. Very frustrating!!! And all this after dealing for two days with the impossible method of getting a phone call responded to for an appointment. No wonder people no longer go to doctors!.Version: 7.3.0

Very Poor AppThis app would not let me sign in and locked me out at the first attempt to sign in. I had to the call doctor’s office to get my account unlocked to sign in. Also, I tried to replace my old pharmacy (Walgreens) with CVS. It looks simple enough. I first deleted Walgreens. Then I clicked on the “add pharmacy” option and the app brings up a list pharmacies. After I click on the radio button to add CVS as a pharmacy, it does not do anything. Also, my allergy information is missing from this app. It is going to take a lot of time for me to add all my allergies. Did anyone at my doctor’s office do any testing before imposing such a poor app on its patients? I have two other apps with other medical groups and those apps are excellent! I am not going to use this APPatient. I will call the office instead..Version: 7.0.0

Alternatives to portal appsThere are better ways to keep your personal health record and share with family and providers. For instance, My Medical app or Tidy Health PHR. You are not tied into one system and can not only view your data but add and edit it. Makes sense in these times of EHRs, urgent care centers and virtual visits..Version: 7.0.0

Be aware of physician useOne of the first forms presented by my physician through this app was an absolute waiver, requiring me to consent to the disclosure of healthcare information. The waiver was not restricted to other healthcare providers or insurance companies. It was a waiver, allowing them to provide information to anyone they chose. I had no limitations whatsoever. Be aware before using this app that you must review whatever documents or forms are being presented by your physician and do not sign them without reading them..Version: 7.2.0

If I could give this a zero, I wouldUnfortunately you can’t give zero stars. Like others have experienced, I was given no password in the email from my practitioner’s office. The request to reset the password resulted in a download document that had nothing in it. I’ll be filling out paperwork at the doctor’s office and telling them they should reconsider the use of this stupid app..Version: 7.4.0

Not as good as MyChartMy dermatologist uses the APPatient app while my family doctor, urologist, and orthopedic doctors all use MyChart. MyChart allows me to scan my insurance cards, and shows my vaccines, prescriptions, lab tests, etc. MyChart also links up to my fitbit, veriosync, and Withings accounts so it tracks my daily steps, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar. As you can see MyChart is a much more useful app than APPatient. I finished copying all of my prescriptions into APPatient. I selected my pharmacy Kroger in Marysville, OH and it showed the pharmacy location on Google maps but it was unable to save the pharmacy as my preferred pharmacy. I had entered all of my prescriptions into APPatient. When I showed up for my appointment the receptionist had me fill out all of my prescriptions on a paper form. I asked her why the paper copy since I had entered all my prescriptions into the app. She said that none of my prescriptions were showing up. I opened the app and showed her that all my prescriptions were there. She claimed that the app rarely works. The dermatologist Dr. Koriann Reed also told me that the app is very poor. It only really works for billing. She agrees that MyChart is a much better app but her practice uses APPatient..Version: 7.2.0

Switching between multiple PracticesUsing this app for multiple Practices is a pain. A dropdown for multiple physician URLs at the login page would be helpful. Having to manually key in the cryptic urls is a pain when moving between Dr offices..Version: 7.4.0

App or Doc’s Office?I don’t know if the issue is with the app, or the Doctor’s office not providing accurate information to sign in. I’ve installed the app, and it just keeps taking me to the password screen, but I have no password. I tried entering one, thinking perhaps I’m supposed to choose one, but nothing. I clicked on forgot password, but same issue, it’s like this infinite loop, no matter what is done, I end right back at the login page, not having our knowing any password. Did the doctor’s office fail to send accurate info due to poor IT personnel, or did the app give bad info for the doctor’s office to send? Either way, the end user/patient is left without access, and their time is wasted on a product that isn’t up to snuff for whatever reason..Version: 7.0.0

Who invented this awful app?All doctors should use MyChart…not this. I received a text message from a specialist I’m seeing this week that I had to ‘check-in’ using this app. This app is confusing and I was not able to register nor sign in. I rather switch to a doctor who uses “MyChart” than go through this confusing application. MyChart is much more user friendly. I will switch to another doctor who uses MyChart and refuse to see a doctor who makes me use this app..Version: 7.4.0

Can’t figure out how to change passwordThis doesn’t work like all other sites. Email link for password reset keeps bringing me back to login page and there is no prompt to set up new password. Have tried multiple times over months. Maybe the app can’t handle this and I need to change password on PC. I still can’t get access to my medical records..Version: 7.3.0

The worst user experience practicesFirst thing is a warning about logging in that can’t be fully seen, and the “learn more” link does nothing. Next, the practice URL provided starts with “https” but then when you try to log in, a warning pops up that the field can’t contain those characters. Next, you have to read and sign some forms such as HIPAA to begin checking in. But the forms, full of legal text, can’t be enlarged while still fitting on the page, so you have to scroll them back and forth. Finally, there is no apparent way to SIGN the forms, and no way to proceed without signing them. So at the end of 10 minutes, I have gotten nowhere and achieved nothing except increased blood pressure. I think I need to see a doctor..Version: 7.0.0

Terrible log in journeyYou download this app, then you have to log in and start the process via a computer? Not going to happen. Instead of sending a link to the app, this product needs to send first time users a link to the website first. Then, the user can choose if they want to download the app. The user journey is wrong and, if this is fixed, maybe I will use this app..Version: 7.0.0

App reviewWhen using the appointment check in screen, where you have to verify your medical history, there is a button that covers the continue button. This makes it impossible to finish checking in because the button I need to tap is covered up. This needs to be fixed. Users cannot finish their check-in. At least I can’t on my iPhone 11..Version: 7.2.0

Doctor’s office need to educate betterThe app is basic, but allows our patients to do what they need to - update health records, view appointment data & contact us/send images if necessary & engage in Telehealth visits. The experience via the app is much smoother than via the website. There are many steps on the “back end” that a doctors office needs to do to make the patient’s experience more seamless - i have a feeling most don’t do this. Need to add basic things like attaching images, filling requests for insurance card images, etc. Experience on the website is so different from the app that it confuses patients all the time..Version: 7.5.0

WorthlessClinic sent me a link to download the app, that worked. They then sent me another link to finish the set up and login process…that just sent me back to down load the app from Apple App Store again, no login or nothing just redownload the app. Pointless. If an app can’t get its clients to get their own clients to utilize this app…then this app is pointless, no use for it, waste of time and money. I suggested significant resources need to be funded to teach their corporate clients on how to utilize this app properly and fix the bugs asap before this app goes bye bye in the huge bin of garbage/neglected apps..Version: 7.0.0

AwfulApp in NOT intuitive, impossible to figure out how to add a pharmacy to my list. It took me 6 times to get into the app, because I had to change my password - I couldn’t switch to my password manager app to set up a new password without having to start over - as in, requesting a link for reset. Then I could not paste my password from manager app. My doctor’s office asked me to complete registration in app before coming to my appointment - I ended up just going through ALL of my history to see what was there, but no way to confirm I had done my due diligence. I use another app for other medical practices - much easier to navigate..Version: 7.0.0

Poor systemWhile trying to enter45+ years of history, if I touch wrong thing when trying to input info, I get kicked out and the info being inserted is lost and I have to re e get it. This is especially bad when putting in meds for med history. It is consuming a great deal of time and this is info JHCFW has had for many years. Very frustrating and needs to be corrected so if page is lost, one can go back and it. There is no place to include modifications of meds such as when Triamterene75mg/HTCZ 50mg tabs are shown, not allowed to state that I only take 1/2 tab daily..Version: 7.4.0

Adding a pharmacyI have not been able to add a pharmacy. I go to the correct tab, locate my pharmacy, and then what?! There doesn’t appear to be a way to finish adding. No enter button? How is this done? Either the app is defective or there are no instructions. Also have to add the provider url EVERY TIME because I have two providers using the app. And, my medical info is not carried over to the 2nd provider. So I have to re-enter medical history and meds!!! Again, instructions are lacking or the app is inadequate..Version: 7.3.0

No app supportThere is no app support for this app. Their web application works, but when I try to sign in, it fails. I cannot reset a password without the app failing, and even then it still does not reset my password. I tried to use app support from the app store, and it redirects you to the website. I tried to find any kind of support on the website, and it just tells you to call your physician. This has been a failure on every level..Version: 7.0.0

Multiple Provider Access is CumbersomeI am a patient at two entirely separate medical practices - an eye doctor and dermatologist and switching between them is unnecessarily cumbersome with this app. The App should have an option to quickly switch between practices without having to logout and remember/re-enter the practice URL..Version: 7.3.0

Problem with multiple providersI have app downloaded for ENT. My dermatologist uses it now, too, and it doesn’t let me see her on the app. I have to click the link to add her, and it will pull just her information up. I even made the login and password the same for both. If I get out of her link to the app and just click on the app, I only see the ENT. I literally have to go to the link from my dermatologist in text message to get into her information…so, I can’t delete her text. Tried googling answer to add other provider so I can be in app and just scroll to select which one, but there isn’t any information out there for patients. The app developer site came up in the search, so I clicked to find it there, but there’s nothing there for it. Then, I tried clicking “Contact” while on their site and it says if you’re a patient, you have to go through your provider! This is an app problem, not a provider problem!.Version: 7.0.0

Password assistance doesn’t workWhen I click Password assistance (I have not been prompted to even make a password yet), I get and email that has a link that opens this page for your app. I am not prompted to create a first or new password. I am Missing my appt now because this function isn’t working correctly..Version: 7.4.0

Forced appPractices use this app to confirm appointments and you have no way to confirm otherwise. You receive an SMS with a link that can only be opened in the app, so it forces you to download and harvest your device data (and who knows what else). No appointment for you if you don’t allow for this app to collect telemetrics on your device. And if you try to open the link on any browser, it will fail and ask you to download an app..Version: 7.4.0

Review of application onlineThere should be away to type “don’t remember” when dates are asked for regarding dates I started or stopped medications. I had to fill in dates/guess some date as an option to type words wasn’t a choice, which was annoying!! Also, it should say to allow plenty of time to fill this out as it is extremely comprehensive & takes a very long time to complete as accurately as possible..Version: 7.3.0

Hate this appIf I could give them zero stars I would. I have not been able to get into this app from two different doctors at all. Set it up and then it won’t take my name or BD and locks me out. Says contact doctors office to unlock yet no one can seem to figure out how to do that. How am I supposed to use an app if it never works? For months I haven’t been able to unlock and get in and so I deleted the app and tried to re set up with a different doctor and same thing…. Says last name and BD and when I put it in it immediately says account is locked. Beyond frustrating.Version: 7.2.0

I can’t reset passwordEvery six months I have a checkup and it takes me an hour to call the office to reset my password on this app. The reset password link that goes to my email just opens the app login screen. I can’t open in browser it automatically open the app. I have to sit on hold with my doctors office to have them reset it on their end. EVERY TIME. I hate I have to use this app..Version: 7.4.0

Very dissatisfiedThis app has become useless to me since I’ve logged into a different provider’s website. Different practices are recommending the use of this app for their respective portals but there is no provision for adding multiple logins. The user is forced to add the correct url manually each time it’s used! The developer of this app should hire some competent software testers!.Version: 7.0.0

FarleyThis is the most non functional and difficult app I have ever attempted to use. It is near impossible to use. Dodge this app like the plague. Update…..Downloaded app again for a different doctor visit to give it another try. Same issues as previously, basically unusable. I prefer to sit and manually fill out paperwork for an hour rather than attempt to use this app..Version: 7.4.0

Cannot create account! This app has been downloaded and does not provide instructions to ‘Create Account’. It only allows for Login, but I cannot login if I cannot create an account. We all have several apps on our phones and have completed these steps a hundred times elsewhere without issue. The originating email link only takes the client to the login screen, and the help link on the app login screen directs the client back to the email. It’s a circular cluster****! Any help is appreciated..Version: 7.4.0

Horrible appThis app is one of the worst apps that I have ever used. I have two providers with this app. Why can’t they tie the two to me and have tabs for each provider. Now I have to figure out the specific url and type it in when switching to the latest provider. Using the calendar on the iPhone makes you set the year before you can set the date. I used autofill for my last name. It had a blank at the end. The developer of this app was too amateur to know to strip leading and trailing blanks. With the first provider I had no clue what my user id was. There was no way to say that I forgot my user id. Of course it is your email. Mine had an old email that I seldom use. With all of these flaws, I am extremely concerned about security..Version: 7.4.0

PoorI've been using the industry leader "my chart" for all of my medical providers and different facilities for a few years. This app is used by my dermatologist. I find navigating through any software very easy. However, this is an unfriendly app to use and does not provide enough resources to make it useful. Staff sent me msg thru the app of my receipt is ready to be viewed. Nothing appears in billing history, no active link to view the receipt. No fields to enter personal email in demo section. The only benefit of this app is to view appointments..Version: 7.2.0

ImpossibleHonestly worst app ever for healthcare - an endless loop of trying to reset my password. I click the link to reset and it brings me back to the log-in screen - over and over. Half the links on the log in screen are highlighted but you can’t click them. Would rather hand-write my paperwork at the office than deal with this nonsense..Version: 7.4.0

This is PocketPatient under a different name! Why do you not make it clear that this app is PocketPatient app under a different name? Or at least that former PocketPatient users must now update to APPatient? After several disastrous experiences I do not allow apps to update themselves without permission. When I went into the App Store to check for updates on my apps I saw one for APPatient, which I’d never heard of. Fearing some kind of scam, I wasted time searching for APPatient on my phone and even calling my doctor’s office, only to find out it’s basically second verse, same as the first. And now I’ve got to go back and update it because my doctor’s office requires it. Be honest and transparent and update your app description!!!.Version: 7.0.0

Dangerous AppOne of my doctors just started with this app/company for patient portal. I wanted to send a message. It did not offer me choices. I started with Dr and my large animal vets came up. I then tried starting with the first na,e, and my wife and her brother came up. It is clearly using my phone book. Stay away from using this app, as there appear to be 0 privacy controls on the patient end..Version: 7.2.0

Can’t have more than one doctor that uses this appI now have three doctors that use your app as mentioned before this is a royal pain to change between doctors. Are you going to make changes so I can see different doctors or do I need to talk to my doctors about changing the app that they use for their business?.Version: 7.3.0

Least convenient way to checkinReading huge legal forms and filling out tons of information - you think the phone is the PERFECT solution??? Thanks so much for forcing me to install a phone app and checkin by laboriously typing out all of my information on a little phone keyboard instead of an ACTUAL computer. Why do you even have a web app when you cant use it to do this task??? So so so convenient. If my medical provider hadn't sprung this on my literally ONE DAY before my appointment, I’d just have found a different provider After my immediate medical needs are resolved, I’ll switch providers to one that does not force me to use this garbage..Version: 7.3.0

Cumbersome app - can’t manage 2 different DoctorsThis is a frustrating App. I have a foot doctor and eye doctor in different practices. There is not a way to have one doctors office logged in and go to the other doctor without logging off. There is not an easy way to do that and remember the login for each..Version: 7.4.0

Useless & frustratingI truly dislike this app. It never works. It ask me to set up an account every time I log in, or it will tell me my password is incorrect when it’s a saved password. When I ask to change my password it sends me a link, when I click the link it sends me to the App Store to open the app. When I opening it takes me back to the log in page, and the cycle continues. Incredibly frustrating. If I don’t like the Drs office as much as I do I would switch because I can never get access to my account without having to call the office. The app isn’t useful at all..Version: 7.5.0

Omgosh what a nightmareMy drs office sent me a link for this app and subsequently to fill out and it’s useless. Every time I try to open their link it takes me back to the app in the App Store . I’ll have to call the drs office if he wants me to use this. Didn’t the developers or doctors try this and see it doesn’t work properly??? This was a waste of an hour and a half of my time that I will never get back!!!.Version: 7.0.0

Can't Reset PasswordPassword reset link was sent to my email, but it doesn't take me to a password reset page. It just forces the app's store page to open (here in the app store). It makes no sense. I can't access important information because the link is messed up and there's no way to contact app support. I've tried uninstalling the app, but that doesn't work. I've tried copying the link and pasting it into different browsers, still doesn't work. There is truly no way to reset password or contact the developer about the issue. I tried "report a problem" from this store page, and that's not an option, either..Version: 7.4.0

Very poor onboardingI use a password manager and set complex passwords. The app offers no guidance to what it will accept. The browser link to “change” the password, which is also used to set an initial password, doesn’t work from the computer only the phone. That’s because it browser link opens the app on the phone. God forbid you have to switch to the password manager to copy the password because that throws you back to the beginning of the process. All because it would not accept my original complex password. An insecure stupidly thought out pile of dung..Version: 7.2.0

Multiple Practices a PainI have two different physicians from two different practices who use this app. Switching between the two is not easy for intuitive. You have to logout of the current practice, change the URL, then login to the new practice. Since the practice URL is not part of the username/pwd, it is easier to make all the passwords the same across practices (security non-no) to enable password manager auto fill. Other patient apps (notably MyChart) makes it far easier to toggle between practices. Functionality is ok when logged in to the correct practice..Version: 7.3.0

So Developers what’s the point?Besides myself, so many people are frustrated with this app that does not work. God forbid you need to change your password. It is absolutely like this insane circle of baloney That never allows you to get a new password. All it does is locked you out then you call the practice to get your bag and then you go right back into the crazy circle of nothing is solved. I love the responses that comes bac to these reviews. It must be a robot that answers. I got an email response, but no answer to my problem. So what is the point of this app —just to drive patients crazy. if I could give it a zero, I would, it’s totally useless!.Version: 7.4.0

Forced to update then stopped working!I have successfully used this app several times in the past. I tried opening the app for an appointment earlier this week and the app wouldn’t open until I updated it. However, after updating it the app no longer opens. It just crashes every time I try to get in. No log-in screen or anything. Completely useless. Please fix this..Version: 7.0.0

Not usableWhen downloaded on my IPhone, the app froze immediately. Since the login was still available in the frozen window, i tried to login the providers portal data. Did not work either. So after getting stuck, before even started, I prefer to use my remaining - since I’m feeling sick - little energy for other things that work out fine. Hope other people will be able to be happy with this app. I however deleted it..Version: 7.2.0

Fine before the updateThis app worked fine before they updated it. Was able to follow directions and do what doctor needed. Haven’t been back in a while and went to do the online check in- was informed I must update the app. Fine. I updated, entered my credentials and was immediately taken to a page to reset my password. Fine. Was in the process of resetting my password, went away from the page for a moment to write it down and then when I went back the “type your new password” page was suddenly gone. I had already deleted old password in my database in preparation for this new one. Now I can’t log in. Fine. I click forgot password. I get the email. I click the link to change my password and it doesn’t work. It just keeps taking me to the log in page of the app. This is very frustrating hence 1 star.Version: 7.0.0
