Time Guru Metronome for iPad for Positive User Reviews

My new favorite metronome!I really like not having to listen to an annoying click on every beat, yet still having something going in the background to keep me in time. It sounds a lot more musical/interesting than just a steady, droning metronome too. That said, I only use it as a basic metronome, so can't speak of the advanced features. They seem to work as advertised though..Version: 2.5.2

Awesome as expected, but one suggestionJust like the iPhone version, everything in one place is a nice look! I'd suggest disabling the preview of the different sounds/disabling it during play. Especially with the people, as they have to count all the way to 14 before they stop. Fix it up and it'll be 5 stars easy :).Version: 1.1

Simple but effectiveExcellent app for improving my internal time. Having random beats drop forces me to keep my own time..Version: 2.5.2

One missing feature...As mentioned in other reviews, this is a fantastic metronome. However (and this is a big however), developers seriously need to fix a problem this app has. We need to have split-screen/slide-over functionality. A lot of musicians practise with a timer to keep track of concepts/techniques they are working on. I myself always use the clock app on the ipad along with Time Guru. Problem is I have to keep fumbling around to set new timers and alarms whilst I have this app open. Just hide the sound selection bar, no one uses that, and allow the app to scale to work side by side with another app. Surprised it’s been this long and they haven’t addressed this. Almost every other app on the app store does it now. Please listen to us. Other than that. Definitely still my go to metronome for practising..Version: 2.5.1

One of only twoThere are only two metronomes you will ever need and this is one of them. The other is Tempo Advance. They both allow for high complexity for advanced rhythmic work. They complement each other and you should purchase both..Version: 2.5.2

Excellent for complex rhythmsThis is a great app for practising against complex rhythms. The ability to drop the metronome is also a great feature: when playing for real it's all to easy to speed up or slow down; this feature helps you track how well you can self-regulate the pulse..Version: 2.5.1

The excellent Time Guru with a great layout for iPadsThis new iPad-specific version of Time Guru takes advantage of the extra screen size of the iPad (compared to the iPhone) and puts all the main functions on one screen, with a simple toggle between presets and settings. It’s an awesome practice tool that has graduated to having it’s own iPad version. Yay!.Version: 1.1

Improves my time keepingA fun tool to have. Simple elegant interface..Version: 2.5.2

Almost what I was looking forI'm a new bass player trying to wrap my head around rhythm. My new exercises explore triplets and 16th notes. I wanted an app that I could input the rhythm from my exercises and have it play back in various tempos. This app does that, except it doesn't allow you to input dotted quarter notes. So, so close..Version: 2.1

Love This App, But Some Suggestions...I love this app on my iPhone and given the iPad's additional capabilities it would be great to see a portrait orientation available because I often use Time Guru in tandem with my music reading app, which is best in portrait. Also making use of the SlideOver function would be very handy again to use in tandem with my music reader which would save the constant need for switching apps just to bump the tempo up or down. Aside from this, the app runs great and I use it often. Hoping to see new features added soon!.Version: 2.5.2

Fantastic! It’s early days with this app, but it’s fantastic and so easy to use. I’m a long time pop and rock amateur drummer who’s been dabbling with jazz in early retirement. I’ve been working on All Blues (3/4, or I hear the musicians cry, 6/8). It sounds simple, but I’ve been having a blast working through some fills whilst having one two three in my headphones and really enjoying my improvisation without sticking in that erroneous four!.Version: 2.5.2
