Do I need to mention how this app has allowed me to fix up, crop and do the basics. Imagine what people, who know what they’re doing, can accomplish! Over the past decades, I’ve used just about every photo editing app out there — of course, most of them are way over my head, so Polarr Photo Editor has been my ‘go to’ photo app of choice, lately. ✓ Great for a lite version, few wishes listed in reviewLove that you can whiten teeth and some of the other facial features, but I found you can only do most of the facial editing if the software auto recognizes the face. My wishes: I wish there was an ability to remove the background. I wish you could outline and select specific objects for editing (for example teeth even if the software doesn’t recognize them). Also I wish there were some other cropping options such as vertical/horizontal tilting Otherwise this is a great app with a lot of features in the lite version..Version: 4.0.0

✓ Loving itI have been using this application on the express format, for quick and easy access to the tools I am looking for and it has been working great, with the revert button I can see the significant change I have made by the end. This app is plenty fun to use and so easy that I am able to complete one edit in around 5 minutes, with beyond satisfactory results. However, ths app is not complete without in app purchases, although so far I have not had to use them. ✓ Pretty Good AppAs far as I’ve used it I’ve been mostly pleased. I was looking for a free alternitive to Adobe Lightroom, and although this doesnt nearly have al the options available in Lightroom, its good for a free app. The one thing i would complain about is there is no brush option, or at least not that i can find in the free version. I plan on trying the paid version for at least a month to see what it adds. But as far as I can tell, there isnt a brush anywhere. Some apps will have a brush where you can highlight or darken select areas of an image, or just add an enire new layer of an edit, but through a brush. Like you’re painting the edit on to the image. If that was put in this app, I’d give it 6 out of 5 stars haha..Version: 5.2.0

✓ Good basic editor, but...I used Photoshop and Lightroom for a number of year. I needed to edit some photos, but didn't want to have to pay for a subscription and found Polarr. It's a solid basic photo editing app, with good controls and easy-enough user interface. However, I did notice a few issues. If I tried to edit a number of images in sequence with the copy/paste edits buttons, it would appear to revert the previous image back to original if I went back to it, so I would just edit and save as I went. Which brings me to my next issue- after a while, it gets insistent on me leaving a review. Every time I save an image, it would ask if I'm enjoying the app until I answered. I wish the face detection algorithm was better. Other apps do a better job at locating faces in busy pictures. 2. The Mac interface gts unnecessarily clunky, sometimes simple is better, specially for the use of this app. The iPad and iPhone version have better UI compared to the Mac. 3. It seems to be impossible to get rid of the previously edited picture, which can be a privacy nightmare. ✓ Outstanding control. Lightroom what?I've been a loyal Polarr user since 2016 and I have never looked back. I have the Pro version, and there are so many tools, from colour correction through to manual distortion removal and even the ability to save your own filters. This helps tremendously as it standardises the look of my photos. I honestly have never considered switching back to Lightroom after using Polarr, and I'm excited to see what new features they bring in next! It’s a fantastic photo editing app. If you are really doing some heavy duty editing, make sure your computer is in well vented area (on a desk, not on your lap) as it can really heat up. This app works fantastically on a MacBook Pro. It really does everything it says. ✓ Awesome!!I just downloaded this for my Mac. It is honestly so good! I am a very basic beginner in editing and it has been incredibly helpful. It has pre-set filters that you can pick from (and then further edit from there). You can also go through and pick different areas to adjust (sharpness, saturation, contrast, etc.) From what I have noticed, this might not be as good if you're looking for very detailed editing (though, there is a premium package, and I don't know what that holds, but maybe it's in there?) With that being said though, there can be some improvement. ✓ Better than FotorUntil recently, Fotor was my go-to photo editing app, but they made it harder to use without paying extra for upgrades. Polarr is much easier to use and has the color, contrast and brightness adjustments I need. Plus there's a "dehaze" feature that combined with the other adjustments make my pics sharper than ever and with the color adjustments that are to my liking. This photo editor offers everything from very easy basic adjustments, to pro level editing. ✓ Working well so farThe interface is a little un-Apple-like but it is easy enough to work with. I’m working my way through a myriad of images that were slides and which have been digitised. The colour cast and dynamic range is a bit iffy but I’m able to use the filters to give something that looks more reasonable and which I can then quckly tweak to give a better image. I’ve only done 100 or so so far and this is therefore still an early report but so far it’s worked really well. The only niggle is to do with saving - I want to open from one folder and save to another, but it wants to save to where it opened. Some apps will default to the place you last saved - in this instance I’d like it to do that but I can imagine some cases where I’d prefer what it is doing, so they can’t win either way..Version: 4.0.0

It is fun to see how the edits can change an ordinary pic into something artistic and interesting. Had a bit of fuss getting the software to show up in photo extensions on my macbook pro. ✓ Great Editor that doesn't break the bankThis is in my eyes a perfect free replacement for Adobe Lightroom as you have access to most advanced editing tools such as selective color, blacks/whites, curves and more. One thing I wish was different is that there weren't 'Pro Restrictions' on so many things for example more filters and masks as if those were free, Polarr would deffinetly be one of the greatest free photo editor for Mac. ✓ I love this app, but let me tell you why…Dude. Let me tell you I love this app. I am working for a client and need to schedule stock images on her Planoly account. This app not only lets me edit the stock photos to help make her theme coherent, it also lets me crop the image so it is perfect for instagram as a preset. That preset has saved me loads of time, especially when she gives me an abundance of photos that she needs uploaded ASAP, I can do a “batch save” and then upload them all. This is the best app that I have found for what I need, and I have the free version. 11/10 would highly recommend to anyone who asked. I even have my client using it now!.Version: 5.0.1

I've run out of filters so i decided to use someone else's filter. i tried importing it in, but it says that i need to update, so i did and i opened it again, tried importing it again and it still says i need to update. It's probably just my version of polarr but I dont know. I got a bit angry so that's why im here writing this. Again, i have no hate against this app, it's amazing and i love it. ✓ GreatGreat app. Wish it were a little less expensive for the pr version. If there is a sale or a markdown at some point I will buy it. One thing about Polar, it occasionally freezes up if there is too much going on on your computer. I've got a 3 year old Macbook Air, and i have had no issues with any other software, but if I am running Polar and a browser with a few open tabs at the same time, Polar will likely freeze up and crash. ✓ Solid and powerful, pro photo editingI dabbled with all available free photo editors before I had to cave and become a photoshop guy for all the pro tools available, but Polarr is the only one that I find myself coming back to at times when even Adobe can't match some of the quality processing in specific applications. As I say, I've only tried the free version, but I use it frequently -- especially when I'm out with only my phone to futz around with images, but also with the desktop version. I'm tempted to spring for Polarr pro, since they've convinced me of their committment to high standards, and I probably will at some point, but I'm just trying to draw the line. ✓ Hit The Ground RunningIf you want to hit the ground running with a topnotch photo app, look no further. I am an amateur who's tried 7 or 8 others. They are all good, but this is the best, short of those I suppose full-time professionals would need to interface with movies and slick magazines and such as that. It operates on Mac, Windows, etc., and smoothly interfaces with the Photo libraries of those systems. The owner can use it on five devices. I use it on MacBook, iPad, and iPhone. I can't think of a way they could have made this a more user-friendly app. Every feature has a little window that pops up as a reminder of how to work it. ✓ Love itThey haven't updated it in 2 years but it still works great. I have an occasional issue where filters/presets wont stick on a few of the photos when I am editing multiple photos, but don't think I've ever had any other problems. I was looking for an editing app where I can batch save photos and apply a custom watermark and this allows me to do it for only $20 a year, which is awesome. I also love that I can create custom filters. Only thing they could possibly add to make me happier is a brush tool for blemishes (it has spot removal but only for single radial spots, its not very versatile) and a brush tool for the pixelate effect (you can only pixelate the entire image, which feels a bit useless).Version: 5.10.21

✓ Excellent Photo editorI have been looking for an editing program for mac pro and my chrome book and my Samsung tab. Polarr has this program for all platforms which is great. Works very well on all my devices. This is a full featured Editor and yet very user friendly. Excellent tutorials explain all the adjustments and features.I shoot raw files (pef) with my Pentax and the program reads and converts the raw file to a high quality jpeg allowing many adjustments and tweaks to enhance the image. I like this system as the raw image is not touched and available to archive. Over time I have used different editors and in my humble opinion this one is the best for me..Version: 4.0.0
