✓ Refund/canceling subscriptionI contacted them once I realized this app was not for me. They asked for my email so I provided it. They emailed me back and said they couldn’t find that email so I sent the last 4 of my card number I used and they stopped responding. I later screen shot my email I used to sign up for the and the card number and asked if they received my first email. No response back from them. I emailed them again today this morning asking if they received the email or able to locate the card I used. Here we are at 1:33 pm and still no response from them. This is giving me scam vibes. I’m really upset.Version: 3.7.6
✓ Memory game is too hardOk, I’m not bad at learning languages. I’ve tried many and I like most of the games on this bar the memory one. For people that don’t have a great visual memory to phrase memorisation under a seriously harsh time limit it is impossible to fill up the subject and very detrimental to learning. I’d either recommend keeping the cards to four or allowing more time for the brain to actually remember the placement of the images and to recall the phrases. I’ve tried so many times and I can’t do this stupid mini game..Version: 2.04.1

✓ Unable to log into accountAfter weeks of being away from this app, finally had opportunity to revisit the app and revise all the words I learnt except it kept telling me this account have been linked to another user!!! ✓ £47•00 pound?!I was trying to learn Albanian and it said i needed to pay £47•00 pound. I was looking forward to this but i had to play THAT much. I don’t like it especially just for a language app but really, that much? i can’t just say how mad i am that i need to play £47•00 pound for this app. Please make it free because my parents don’t have loads of money. ✓ Don’t buy a subscriptionI bought a subscription. The app still requires that I buy uCoins to access the data the subscription was for. They also tell you that you get upgraded customer support if you buy a subscription. I got a link to their general support site on the web with an email form to fill out. Yeah, that’s not upgraded customer service by any stretch of the imagination. I logged out of the app. I logged back in. I erased my customer information. I logged back in. Nothing. Every time I try to access the content I get directed to buy uCoins. I don’t know if it’s a scam or what, but don’t buy a subscription..Version: 2.07
✓ Do not buy this app!!This is not a good app for learning a language. They give you the word or phrase in the foreign language along with a picture. Apparently they just expect you to guess what the picture means as there is NO TRANSLATION offered!!! So if the picture is of a woman with a sad face, is she happy, sad, hungry, frustrated, confused?? Who knows?!? I had to use google translate to translate each phrase. Many of the words and phrases in NO WAY matched the photos that were given. This is NOT how you learn a language..Version: 2.05.2
✓ SubscriptionI paid for a subscription which worked fine the first month, on the second my money was taken but the app was asking me to buy coins despite me being subscribed. ✓ This is bait and switchI downloaded and paid for the French (Canadian) app (which I feel I over paid for, for the little content that’s in there). Then I get a message that I get 5 free topics if I register and download uTalk. I registered but it wouldn’t let me log in with that password and after too many tries it let me in only to want to charge me for the topics. So much for free topics. Bait and Switch all the way, don’t purchase these products!!!!!.Version: 3.4.5

✓ Do not get!!!!I had a 30 day trial , I had the app a week and didn’t like it it will only teach u words it’s very different from Babbel and other apps. I cancelled and they still charged me and should not have. They do not have anyone in the United States to talk to only a uk number for support and it won’t let u manuver back into your account to change things. Worst support ever also u cannot even email. ✓ Amazing selection of languages, poorly builtQuiero aprender el español argentino, y esta es posiblemente la única app qué lo enseña. That is very valuable. I can’t wait to learn it! However, there are a couple of incredibly peeving issues with the app. Foremost: It is barely compatible with headphones (every time I open it with music playing and wired headphones in, the music suddenly pauses and then continues) and simply does not work with Bluetooth headphones. My AirPods can be on, and playing music, but uTalk refuses to allow its audio to play through them. It insists on suddenly disconnecting the AirPods and playing everything through the phone speakers. Also, it doesn’t seem to remember my language preferences. I have my phone set to Spanish to practice, but I don’t speak Spanish yet—I want the app’s translations to be in English. Every time I open the app, it has changed back to Spanish. I will refrain from paying any money for this app until these issues are resolved..Version: 3.4

✓ LetdownI downloaded this game thinking I finally had found a good app to learn urdu and don’t get me wrong it is a good app I do recommend it and there is nothing wrong until… when I clicked on a lesson it said I don’t have I don’t have enough u coins and I was only allowed to click on a lesson if I had u coins and to get some I had to pay like £1! ✓ Only app for NepaliWe’re glad to have an app for Nepali... but many of the phrases are much too long, and most sets have FAR too many items in them. Means the memory never has a chance to embrace much as it’s overwhelmed. We wish each set was 10 to 12 words/phrases, and that phrases were kept more simple. (As a comment about Nepali specifically, it’s frustrating that sometimes the two speakers say things quite differently, adding extra syllables and sounds. Keeping consistent to just one dialect would have been helpful.).Version: 3.4.5

It took weeks to get this **** app to work followed by weeks of dunning by the apps writers, or customer service or whom ever they are. ✓ Almost great but…I paid for a month to try out the Cantonese option. So far as I can see the app uses a standard library of pictures representing things, people, activities etc, the same across all languages. You hear the word for that thing, person etc in the language you’ve chosen - so it doesn’t matter what native language you speak because it’s not translating words. Clever except that far too often I have no idea what the picture represents. It’s a shame because in other respects it’s an attractive and easy app to use..Version: 3.8.1

✓ Not for everyoneThe potential is here. However, learning Thai language there are subtleties between male and female responses. This app will NOT allow a user to select either only male or only female responses making it totally useless and counter productive. For some languages strongly consider other alternatives prior to purchasing uTalk. Update :: The developer disagrees that the user should have a choice. Again, this attitude shows the reason why there is a weakness in the app regarding the Thai language as far as this user goes. Plus the developer asked for a higher rating. Go figure..Version: 3.4.5
✓ Could be betterI like that it’s gamified and the sounds. However it’s slow sometimes (not because of performance but because it has delays, e.g. when I do the speaking tasks I have to wait a second before I can start speaking, a second until I hear the correct pronunciation, a second until I can click next; similarly for others) and I don’t have the patience to waste time like this when I could be already doing the next lesson. Also it seems there’s no way to continue without paying because I only have 30 coins now after completing 2 lessons at 100%. Might as well be paid from the beginning, however I wouldn’t pay for this. ✓ Neat idea, poor app designOn an iPhone 13 Pro Max, everything in the app is far to small. Almost looks like I am using a desktop application on a phone screen. Increasing the text size in the options doesn't help very much, and all buttons are tiny.
