✓ Still haven’t got my money from a saleApp was good at one point. Paid $50 to ship a gun a person bought through the app (wish they had just PayPal’d me) and I still haven’t received the money and they haven’t even responded to the email I sent them. Also the app itself is just awful. Double messages, crashes. Just seems like it needs the kinks worked out but they’ve never been worked out. Used to be tolerable, but now that they steal your money? No. There isn’t a lot of places to sell airsoft guns these days but this might be the worst now..Version: 2.6.3
✓ PaywallsWas looking for a nice place to sell some of my more expensive gear and figured Id try here since its an airsoft dedicated site. In order to put up a 60 day listing, which you have to wait for to be reviewed, it costs ~$10 upfront. OR you can go the route of paying afterward, however this takes %10 percent of what you sell it for, so if you even dare to try to sell something pricey that wont move quick or you want to get as much money out of it as possible this is definitely not the place..Version: 2.7.4
✓ Downward spiralHop-up used to be a great app, but it’s falling apart due to the admins and new greed for money. It’s no long a free-sell platform like it used to be, it’s more like a restricted version of eBay, only worse. You can’t sell any Airsoft gun like you used to, now you have to only sell licensed official Airsoft guns. Hop-up will charge you if you use the listing only system, and if you use the non-charge system, there’s a 10% sales fee and poor customer service Regions have been disabled, you cannot see how the Airsoft globally is doing Costs have driven up due to the lack of freedom I’ve personally seen a decreasing trend in posts now, and it’s only a matter of time before a new app replaces hop-up in order to counter the issues.Version: 2.6.1
✓ Hopup went to crapHello all! I have been a verified user for over 4 years and I have seen the apps ups and downs. AS OF THIS MOMENT, the app is currently terrible. They have made everything that you can possibly want to do something you have to pay for. Do not want to wait on your post to get approved? They make you pay or wait days until no one sees your post. Want to actually make a post? You are forced to pay again! I wish the app was more like it was in 2017, this app is terrible and if youre not wanting to drop money for you to even have a chance at selling something stay off the app. thanks!.Version: 2.6.0

✓ Only good for getting publicity for selling your itemsHopup protection does absolutely nothing for the seller. Most recent sale a buyer put a hole in the box he got his item shipped in and lied about items falling out and here we go, buyer gets a full refund even though the main items weren’t broken. Don’t waste your time giving money to the devs via premium subscriptions or hopup sales. They delete your posts all the time for no reason because they’re bored, terrible forum that has gone downhill because now they charge 10% for sales through their site. ✓ Messaging is garbage. Zero starsAll of my conversations I have with customers and people I'm.biyi g items from get absurdly randomly assorted into our conversation feed. With dates saying December 1999. I've sent money to the wrong address because I will have messages from years ago coming in as new. I asked for someone's paypay and I have to scroll through the whole feed to try not find where the message is. I've done buisness with people on the past and their old email shows first in my feed. It's insane and difficult. I beg people to text me instead of messaging through this garbage app.Version: 1.2.3
✓ Zero ProtectionHop up doesn’t give sellers the ability to easily issue refunds if something goes wrong. The buyer protection is a joke and I feel much better transacting over PayPal. Don’t use the payment in hop up because it’s lacking features and the support is atrocious. (Vague answers, missing the point, etc). Even if the seller wants to do right by the customer, hop up won’t let them. Not to mention, there’s a lot of scammers on the app. Make sure you get a photo with the date and time as well as a function video. (Image quality and video quality is a joke on this app so Take it off this app as soon as you connect) Otherwise, good place to see listings but that’s about it..Version: 2.6.3
✓ Ruined a good thingPrior to the update, all transactions were done securely through direct messages and paypal. HopUp was a marketplace to post your sales, and the transfer of funds was discussed and agreed upon by the users (cash, trade, of paypal typically). The new update tries to make HopUp both the medium for posts as well as the payment overseer. All transactions are supposed to now go through the app, which forces users to give an untrustworthy app personal payment information. Additionally, HopUp now wants a 10% commission on all of these sales, much more than Paypal ever took. I understand HopUp is looking to increase their profits, but they put profits over players and have removed the community aspect from the app. There was nothing wrong with the old format. You took a good thing and ruined it..Version: 2.0

✓ Window ShoppersMost of the people are window shoppers with no real intention to buy anything. I would say you average 1 sale every 20 messages or so. The users will ask questions I purposely answered in the post, as if they didn’t even read anything I typed, and they will even take you all the way to payment after asking 50 questions and requesting pics of everything, and then just never pay or reply to the messages again. The app itself is great, the users are questionable at best..Version: 00.99.02

✓ To many changesHopup was great when it first released, now they have made so many changes to benefit themselves that the consumers who actually use the app are the ones punished. There use to be so many people who would make personal sales. With the new set up, it’s basically a bunch of business selling on here. ✓ Exactly what you’d expect, is efficient. But..HopUp is exactly what you’d think. A sort of offerup. But for airsoft. Great app. Would give it a 5 star. BUT. I’ve seen people get scammed from this app. And I don’t think HopUp has any real sort of protection or at least compensation for people who get scammed. It’s more of a. “Do at your own risk” thing. Maybe they have something that I’m just not aware of, but to my knowledge there’s nothing. So overall, if they made trades and sales more secure. 5 stars all the way. ✓ Was cool now it’s ridiculousHopUp use to be an awesome app where you could post as many ads you wanted for as long as you wanted for just the regular premium member fee. Now they also have become victims of greed. Every ad has a fleet fee applied to its posting and is only up for a certain amount of time. I’ll admit they’ve put a lot of work into the app and it works very well. But a 10% fee on top of every post automatically put on to the post is ridiculous. ✓ Alright appLots of scammers and people who repost the same garbage over and over like Will Keller. I’ve done a lot of deals over the last year or so. I’ve gotten some nice trades though, I am fairly pleased with what I have gotten. But as far as selling things, nobody ever seems to have the money to buy anything. They always either lowball you by $100 or so, or offer a trade that’s in their favor. It’s more of a buying and trading app than a selling app. It’s still useful though, just need to be careful when shipping with trading..Version: 0.99.23

✓ Scammers EverywhereI would give a higher rating if it weren’t for the amount of scammers on this app. I know it’s my job to be careful with them but the developers have not done anything to crack down on them. I’ve been trying to get a well known scammer on the app to get banned but the report function on the app isn’t working for iPhones and I’ve been messaging the developers to get him off but they haven’t done anything but tell me to not post about scammers on their postings. I get that it’s not a WTB/WTS but even after that post the scammer is still on there. Don’t bother with this app until the developers get this scamming issue done. ✓ TerriblePretty much every seller on here is unwilling to complete a transaction through HopUp, I’ve had my order cancelled simply because I bought the item though the app for protection. Defeats the whole purpose of the app, and the devs should really be doing something about this. ✓ Greedy creatorsThe app had good intentions but the creators are greedy. Your post has to be reviewed before it’s approved to be listed UNLESS you go “premium” which is basically pay to play. Once you’re premium you can bump your posts and there’s no review of what you’re posting so you can try and buy hamsters or sell your Xbox like Will Keller or sell some overpriced supreme clothing that your parents bought you like Jake Thumann. ✓ Fix the ShitpostingPlease attempt to monitor people posting absolute garbage on this app. People are using it as a form of social media like Reddit and it’s clogging things up. Get the users under control and have posts more closely monitored. It’s almost like you guys let anything pass. And please add a filter or searching system on the want to buy section, that way I don’t need to just scroll through what has been posted day by day, minute by minute. That isn’t a much of a big deal, but the people ruining the app (and the community honestly) just keep posting garbage memes and questions about fields and random things. ✓ Horrible customer serviceI wish I could rate this 0 stars. Here’s the deal, I was set to trade with another guy thru the app and while he kept setting back the date to ship I had left out of country for work. I come back to my account blocked and an email asking what’s the deal with this other person. I gave my side of the story and hop up refuses to do any investigation on it. ✓ It’s not the worst, but it severely needs to be reworkedLike the title states, it needs to be reworked. Before you used to be able to list for free and they just offered a premium subscription where you could instantly list things without having it reviewed. Now the app has gone to pay or you can’t sell. Wether It’s a percentage of the value and you just go about using PayPal or whatever or you use their “payment” option where they hold your money hostage, they take 10% of the sale and if you want to cancel it they charge you 5% so to say it has gotten a little worse would be an understatement. Why they don’t just run ads (like everyone else does) is beyond me and the app as a whole has been on the decline with no hill in sight. ✓ Continually DissappointingEdit: not worth the download I’ve been a user of hopup since 2017 and despite many updates to the app, not much had been done to fix the rampant scanning, bug ridden message system, and passive admin team. If you happen to get scammed be prepared to be politicked and largely ignored by staff that don’t take the time to read through your concerns, if you choose to do business through their payment system which I heavily recommend against, be prepared to pay a 10% transaction fee on top of waiting for payment from hopup if you ever receive it at all. This app is as useful as it was on day one, just be wary for scammers, use paypal for payment protection and insurance, and don’t expect the hopup staff to help if things go south..Version: 2.5.9
