Flawed App unresponsiveI’ve had this app for some time. This week I attempted to add a payment card to the app. Should be straightforward. However, my specific app totally blocks adding any payment card. Delete app and start over? Nope. It stores all your prior data. The manage payment section just has a permanent ‘in process’ circle and is unresponsive. Any attempt to contact app customer service is just a black hole so far. May be one of the worst apps I’ve ever used..Version: 1.10.4

The App is worth downloadingNumerous calls to customer service that you don’t get the discount price for fuel. In fact they charge you the highest prices possible as if your using a credit card and not the Sunoco card. First the said try a different gas station which I did, in-fact I tried a different state same thing. I use my card at the pump and it works fine. I must be the App because the Exxon Mobile app use the same bank as Sunoco credit card and it works fine..Version: 1.5

Poor App!!I was happy to see an app I can use that allows me not to have to pull out my credit card. So I installed it and used it one time and it was great. But then it stopped working. I was told my credit card wasn’t accepted. I submitted comments through the app twice, but got no response. I tried the app a 2nd time with a different pump and got the same result. I even tried it with the Apple Pay (I know works) option with the same results. Please provide a fix update to the app or let me know what I need to do to fix it!! Thanks!!.Version: 1.4.1

Login in issuesLately I am unable to sign in into the app after logged me out, I try to create a new account after and does not work. No customer support. My card was locked by the bank because several attempts at once. Gas stations are not up to date i drove to a gas station listed and it is not Sunoco any more. If they fix the sing in app works for me..Version: 2.5

Unhelpful error messages and no supportI have been unable to enter my Sunoco credit card as a payment information. Sunoco customer service blames Citibank and Citibamk says they have nothing to do with the app. On my fourth call, I did get someone from Sunoco to say that the card won't add because of a verification with the Citibamk back end. I signed on to my account to verify what they had and entered it exactly in the app and it still won't add the card. I have another private-label gas card issued by Citibank that works flawlessly with that gasoline company's app. The pay from-the-app feature of these apps is great in these times of the Pandemic. App is brokenI have used the Sunoco Mobile App for over a year now, and about 2 weeks ago the app said it was “temporarily not working” and would be back soon. It has been 2 weeks now without the app working at all. I always pay for my gas with this app and I have not been able to for weeks. I have started using other apps and Sunoco has been losing my business. FIX IT!!.Version: 3.3.15

Big disappointmentAlthough I followed Sunoco’s advice (after leaving reviews), app still fails to scan rewards card # and won’t recognize manually entering the number so, although I was willing to change my review, app still gets a one star. I tried to add my AdvantEdge rewards card to my profile using app camera and manually entering card numbers. Both give a error message, “invalid”. Had hoped to contact app developer to assist but get another error message, can’t find server. Apparently Sunoco would prefer a one star rather then offer a fix. I had hoped to use the app but if I still have to carry a rewards card then what’s the point? No support and inability to add a rewards card. Read reviews and you will see others have had the same issues with the rewards card so there is a pattern..Version: 1.0.4

FrustratingI have a Sunoco Rewards credit card. I cannot add it to Apple Pay to enable paying with my phone. Ok. I download this app & attempt to link my Sunoco card. It won’t verify the card & tells me to call customer service. The number FROM THE APP sends me to Citibank & they have no idea how to help. They give me another number—which winds up still being Citibank. No help. I email customer service. No response. All I want to do is link my Sunoco credit card to the Sunoco app. Why is this so difficult?.Version: 3.3.3

Inconsistent appFor years this app only works sometimes. It makes you jump through hoops for discounts that may or may not appear on your bill, while at the pump using your card is 5 cents cheaper! Using the app at the pump is considered credit card despite the card being a Sunoco that is being charged!.Version: 2.1.1

Setup IssuesGetting the app setup was a nightmare. The required verification codes aren’t sent requiring you to call the customer service number in the message that pops up. Calling that number yields no help at all, the people that answer the phone are clueless and tell you they don’t handle problems with the app that I have to call someone else. Spent almost 2 hours on the phone talking to numerous people before I could get an intelligent human that could verify my Sunoco credit card I was trying to enter in the app so could use the app to make purchases. It also requires verification of my email address that verification never arrives either even though my email address has been correctly entered in the app. I checked to make sure the email verification request wasn’t in my spam it’s not there either. It is not being sent even though the message says it was. I’m sorry I ever got involved in this nightmare that has consumed 2 hours of my value time just to save $10 on my next statement per the promo letter that arrived with my statement. Definitely not worth the time and frustration!! I would not recommend that anymore download this app if you value your time..Version: 1.10.4

Not WorkingWhen I first used this app. it worked fine. I was quite impressed. My card expired and I was tried to add my updated Sunoco card, but it will not allow me to. I called customer service and spoke to four different people and I still can not add my Sunoco card. Two stars for customer service for not being able to rectify this problem..Version: 3.1.1

Sign In with Apple??I was happy to see that the app now offers a “Sign In With Apple” option, but even after signing in successfully, tapping “Pay at pump” in the app pops up an “enter your password” prompt, then tells me that I don’t have a password because I’m using a Google or Facebook account (they need to add “Apple” to this message). So I’m stuck in an endless loop when all I want to do is give Sunoco money for my gas. I now go to Exxon..Version: 2.1.2

DisappointedWhile I had no trouble using the app (it was actually very simple and responsive), I did not receive the usual 5 cents off per gallon that I get when I use my Sunoco rewards credit card. Instead, I was charged the credit price, which is 10 cents more than the cash price. I don't know if it's supposed to work that way (is it the cost of convenience?) or should I be getting the discounted price since I used my Sunoco card? It ended up costing me 15 cents MORE per gallon than if I had manually swiped my car at the pump. If that's how it works, I certainly won't be using the app anymore..Version: 1.2

Poorly madeI set up my account and was excited to use it. The first time or two it was great but now every time I try to use it it doesn’t work. Now I try to add my card back to the app which I don’t know why it ever deleted it, it tells me the card wasn’t added and to call customer service which is a pain in the rear. You hold for 30-45 min and you finally reach someone and they put you on hold every two minutes or so. It’s not worth the hassle I will use my other cards mobile app that works every time..Version: 2.5

Horrible customer service when go locked out of accountI signed up for the app and it worked great for a short period of time. Then it said I had to log back in but it wouldn’t let me. I tried resetting my login information and it said it was sending me a message I never received it. So I tried emailing the company gave them my information and they said you don’t have an account. So I tried to create a new account it said you can’t because phone already being used. So I emailed the company again and realize it’s been two weeks and I’ve heard nothing. I tried calling the company I was next in line for 12 minutes and finally chose the option to leave a voicemail which rang and rang and rang and was never answered. The app worked great when it worked but absolutely zero support from customer service.Version: 3.3.6

Can’t add paymentI am trying to add a company credit card on the account and it won’t accept it. Everything is out in correctly but it still says it’s wrong. I use the same card on the Exxon Mobil app and had no problem putting it in. The whole point in me getting this app was to use it for work so I don’t have to pay at a pump but can keep track of it through my phone. Not really a point to have the app anymore. Not worth the timeHave been trying to set up the app. After entering my information it tells me to call a number that pops up to verify my information. Call the number and the tell me they have to transfer me because they don’t deal either the app. The people on the other line are no help. I am still not able to use the app it is useless because I can’t get my information verified. Don’t waste your time..Version: 2.4

UselessIf your stations don’t accept your own app payment at the pump, what good is it?! I set up the app because I wanted to use it to pay at the pump without having to physically insert my credit card in the pump payment slot. With all the skimmer issues in our area, this seemed to be a great option. Despite the fact that this app is advertised right at their pump, my local station doesn’t accept it for payment at the pump. That would be fine if they accepted Apple Pay at the pump, but they don’t accept that either..Version: 1.9.2

App is awfulThis app is just plain awful. Have been trying for two years to add my Sunoco card that was deleted from my account. Have tried emailing, calling the app people and the credit card people. The app can’t find my account and citi bank can’t help. They both blame the other. They both claim to reset my account yet every time they say try again I get the same thing. Card not added. I’ve deleted the app and the account and tried all over again. But still nothing. I can add a major credit card. But that defeats the purpose of the 5 cent saving. I liked it when I could pull up and do it on my phone and got out and pumped the gas. Now I have to take out my credit card and I lose the extra 3 cents from the app..Version: 3.3.17

App FailureAfter being able to use the Go rewards for months, I now all of a sudden cannot use the app due to a “something went wrong error”. When contacting customer service they insist that my account is not linked when I’m clearly able to sign in but get a blank screen once signed in. Every little cent counts coming off with the high gas prices but disappointed that my issue still hasn’t been resolved..Version: 3.0.2

Don’t bother.Got an offer promising extra rebates through December if I signed up with my Sunoco card. App wouldn’t accept it as a payment method and prompted me to call customer service. After an extended hold time, a hard to understand customer service rep tried to activate my card, but wanted “security information” such as the checking account number I use to pay the card. I didn’t have the information and that seemed suspicious anyhow. Not worth the time/effort- deleting app..Version: 1.10.3

It’s OK …It took a while to get the app set up (several tries over several days; quite frustrating). When I finally did get it to work, it worked very smoothly! I like not having to pull my credit card out, though holding the phone while pumping is a tad awkward. I’ve used the app about 3-4 times so far, and have been quite pleased. And the discount is clearly noted on my receipt. I was a bit disappointed this evening, however; although the app worked great, for some reason I got NO discount! Not sure why that would be. Also - 3c is a rather measly discount. Couldn’t they give regular customers a 5c discount? I do love the immediate digital receipt and option to receive it by email. Very convenient. UPDATE (Feb 17, 2024): it would be VERY nice if you could compare prices from, say, a 50-mile radius before deciding to get your gas — rather than having to be near a station before it tells you the price. Could you please add this functionality? Or am I missing something?.Version: 3.3.16

Can’t even sign inI’ve been trying for two weeks now just to sign onto this app with no luck. I get a “Please check your name and password” message every time. I literally just set this information up. Ok…I click on Forgot password. “Check your email”. …………Nothing. Yes I checked my junk folder. Ok I will try signing up with another email address. Nope. Phone number is tied to first email so I’m stuck. I’m going to just download and use Citgo’s app like my husband uses. Much less hassle..Version: 3.2.0

BrokenSeems like the app doesn’t work for previous users who registered their account with a different number than their iPhone. Keeps redirecting to a registration screen, but will error saying the phone number is already registered to another number. There is no field to enter a number and seems like it’s pulling it from the iPhone. Tried completely deleting the app and reinstalling but that didn’t fix it..Version: 3.0.8

Worked only onceDownloading this app was a breeze and setting up my credit card for just as easy. I even made one fill-up with it afterwards and paid through the app. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work when I needed to fill up again (at two different l stores in different cities); standing by the pump selecting the store was all I was able to do. App would enter a loading mode but wouldn’t prompt me to select a fuel type or even to submit the pump number, it would just continue to “load” nothing. It would be an awesome app if it actually delivered what it promises to. I travel extensively throughout Texas and keep seeing more and more Sunoco stations pop up; unfortunately, this app is no match to competitors with similar discounts..Version: 2.5.2

IOS appTried to update my new card in the app. It said I needed to call customer service for some reason. I did that and they told me to add my new card after 24 hours because I had to validate myself. Now when I try to go in to add the new card, the circle status bar in the middle keeps spinning. I can’t even click on the “plus” to add the new card. I deleted the app, restarted, reinstalled... does the same thing. Been happening for four days straight. App is completely useless at this point until the fix is made..Version: 1.10.4
