✓ Awesome banking tool!Bought all in app purchases they had. Couple things I wish to be changed though: Ability to do a “return” on an item quickly Slightly better UX on selecting where the money goes and comes from. Don’t really enjoy messing around with negative signs..Version: 1.6.2
✓ ExcellentThis is definitely the best app that I have used to keep track of my finances. I like the fact that I have to enter all the transactions in myself. Doing it that way keeps me more accountable. Really! Like the syncing between iPhone app and Mac app. Only thing that I have an issue with is being able to add credit cards on here to keep track of balances. I am not sure how to do that, I messaged help and their instructions weren’t very user friendly. Only videos that I have found I like about it you have to pay for 🤦🏾♂️. ✓ Best offline double entry accounting appThis is a very clean and beautifully designed app. There are a few other double entry accounting/bookkeeping apps for iOS. However, this stands out from the rest in terms of features and design. Navigation is very intuitive, adding transactions is very quick and easy (especially with contextually aware suggestions for Payee and Comment), good looking visualizations, and a variety of handy reporting options. There are some handy search shortcuts too (e.g. last week, month, etc). Searching is flexible in that you can search overall or specifically by the comment, payee, or by amount. I’ve been using the app on iOS and MacOS for almost 2 months now and am pretty satisfied. I’ve had iCloud sync fail (reporting an error but can’t quite recall it) but fixing it was simple. The developer has helpful guides and articles (about the app and double entry accounting in general) and a F.A.Q. One page talks about fixing iCloud. Another one for example talks about budgeting using envelope system (most apps you’ll see use this idea). I think it would be nice to have some additional statistics/insights that are human readable (e.g. you spent $300 more on shopping compared to last month). An additional nice to have is custom fields so one could have a transaction date and a posted date. My solution for this is just using the number field (phone number of Payee) as a date for the transaction. When I clear a transaction, I update the actual date field to it’s posted date. The above two are just that, nice to haves. I think this app is generally feature complete. The developer seems to be focusing on their other apps, which is fine given the above statement. Highly recommend trying the app out. There’s a 14 day trial with no feature restrictions so give it a shot..Version: 1.8.7
✓ Just what I need!This app looks fantastic. You can quickly add income or expenses. I really like the double-entries and the scans look great. I am impressed and it made it to my home screen! I'd like to see a real 'dark mode' instead of using Apple's Accessibility settings. It would be nice to have a widget as well. I also would like control over notifications. Add the ability to have some sort of reminders to check in on status of payments, reminder to enter invoices, etc. The main screen, showing the journals could be larger. I only have two journals and I somewhat have to try to make sure I tap on the correct one. Make them dynamic boxes possibly? I see that we can backup via iTunes or sharing to an app but I would love for there to be a backup option including automatic Dropbox syncing and the like. You can never have too many backups..Version: 1.4.1
✓ Good appI’ve used this app since 2016 and I love it, I tested others apps and this is the one that works better for me. I had an issue on the last upgrade and the developer tried to help me but took so long to answer my emails. ✓ Simple and to the Point!Of all the finance apps on iOS, this is my personal favorite to use! Not only is it straight to the point, but there’s also no need to sign up for an account or sign up for a subscription! A one time payment and you’re good to go with all the features! ✓ Best budget app for my workflowThis app finally does all the main things I need. Great iOS and Mac support, drag and drop receipts onto transactions, and shows my running balance into the future for scheduled transactions. It’s been hard to find something that hits all these points, and I’m glad to drop Quicken now for all my spending tracking. I do with it had support for stocks, as the underlying LedgerCI does offer this, but otherwise I am a very happy customer!!!.Version: 1.6.1

✓ Still learning how best to use this software.I have been retired for over 20 years. Our needs are: Use historical income and expense patterns to anticipate future needs. We have at least 8 years of good data. - Income is predictable and indexed to inflation. - Expenses are becoming more unpredictable as we get older. It looks like we will be able to develop predictable budgets and identify potential problem areas before they become serious. Retro fitting old data would be nice but haven’t figured out an efficient way to do that yet. Year by year might be good enough..Version: 1.8.2

✓ Solid Finance AppFinances 2 is a solid, customizable, personal finance app. I appreciate the ease of use and the smart automatic "double-entry" system. It just makes simple sense to enter a transaction once and have it auto-deduct from the source(s) of payment. I also appreciate that I can solidly track and back up my personal financial information—on my own terms—without having to rely on releasing my day-to-day banking information to "free" third party financial apps. For a variety of reasons, I prefer NOT to willingly hand over my financial information (to organizations beyond my own banking institutions) to then have it be mined for data in order to market and target financial sales and other products back to me. There's enough of that craziness going on. And finally I am not interested in paying monthly fees to balance my personal and business finance. That's just not necessary with easy capture and entry systems; smart tools like Finances 2..Version: 1.4.1

✓ Best app of its kindI’ve been looking for a truly capable book keeping app like this for ages. It’s powerful and incredibly useful, but be warned that if you’re looking for a tool that doesn’t require much work on your end, there are probably better tools for you. I recommend manual book keeping in addition to whatever other finance management tools you use. Expensive, but worth it if you’re going to use it long term. I recommend trying it out before purchasing the full version or the macOS version..Version: 1.6.2
