OmniGraffle 3 for Negative User Reviews

What's happened to OmniGraffle Pro for iPad?I have not used OmniGraffle Pro on my iPad for a long time. I was shocked at how bad it has become. Object selection is at best hit and miss, and usually just random. Drawing on the canvas just mangles what is there already. The inspectors are all over the place. This app is expensive. In its current state, I would not use it if it were free. Disgraceful..Version: 3.19.1

It’s totally screwed up my line diagramsDeleted and will never use again!!!!.Version: 3.10.1

Can not open anything in my ipad pro 2018I uninstall it after 2 mins.Version: 3.11

Very PoorThis app is not free even if you have paid for the Mac Version. The standard version in both platforms is very limited and overpriced. I cannot comment on the pro version as I cannot justify paying twice as much for the upgrade. I am a MSc student and even with the student discount it is overpriced. I bought the Mac version and downloaded the iOS version around a year ago. I can no longer use the iOS version and I can’t restore a purchase. The Mac version has been used very little ever since. Buggy, technical problems, very hard to achieve the basics. The iOS version (when I could use it) was quite the opposite, very good, easy to use but again extortionate. This company have a growing bad reputation for their lack of customer focus and a self serving business model. I am grateful they gave me the student discount however it has been a waist of money costing £50. It is shame to see such potential in a product and for it to be let down by what appears to be other factors. A real shame..Version: 3.9

Completely broken in 3.1.1IOS 13 update changes document management, adds some functions and completely breaks basic operation. I can no longer move objects. While it was never reliable to move objects without hitting the resize function, in 10 attempts to move an object I am now lucky if I can move it once. Either resizes or goes into the system wide drag where the item bounces back to the start point. Slightly possible on larger objects, impossible on small ones. My custom stencils are now also really hard to get to. I have gone back to omnigraffle 2, which at least works.Version: 3.11

Good to create diagrams with detail, shame the unstable app that keeps crashingOmniGraffle has been one of the best software for drawing diagrams on the Mac, I wanted to try the mobile version on the iPad pro, I must admit even the mobile version is a powerful tool, and you can pretty much do everything that the desktop version offers, Shame it keeps crashing it has a few technical bugs that makes the app to close and re-open, well polished software with powerful tools but the crashing is quite annoying, on the positive, when it crash and restarts it doesn't lose much progress, which is a relief, I have submitted the logs for every crash which has been over 10 during the trial period, I am keen to use it beyond the trial but with the crashing issue it doesn’t makes sense spending £99, it could do better if the developers can also integrate the apple pencil..Version: 3.5

It’s quite bad, and getting worseOmni Group’s software has always been a bit quirky in its UI design choices. But poor UI design is far from the biggest issue in this app. Constant crashes attempting to open files created on the desktop app, undo/redo losing track of itself, and unintuitive touch controls make this app, for me, a no go..Version: 3.9

Confusing appI write this 6 months ago, and gave the app 5 stars: This is so handy. It does take a little effort to get used to it but that’s easily sorted by reading the Manual. I’ve changed my mind. I don’t use omniggraffle day to day, and every time I go to use it again I get confused. The manual is dire. They need more videos. I don’t think the gestures described in the manual actually work. I just want to draw some diagrams, not spend loadsa time scratching my head..Version: 3.14

Is not worthWhere is alternative app which does more and worth price.Version: 3.3

Barely UsableI’ve grumbled through Omnigroup’s bait-and-switch “upgrades” for years now, but have stuck with them because OmniGraffle was the best alternative I’d found for my needs—“was” being the key word here. This version is barely usable on my 2020 iPad Pro. The user interface is infuriating—drawing connecting lines resizes shapes instead, deleting selected objects requires some twisted secret series of gestures, gestures to pan/move/select are confounded, tools that are supposed to stay selected randomly revert, and it isn’t uncommon for the undo button to mysteriously stop working when trying to resolve one of the aforementioned snafus. The company has obviously been hearing about these problems for months or longer and is doing nothing to resolve them. This would be frustrating even if the app weren’t so exorbitantly priced. Not sure what is going on in the company, but whatever it is, we can only hope they get it together soon..Version: 3.14.1

Really big problems in syncI tried both Dropbox and iCloud Drive. Cannot work well in sync documents. Please fix this issue. Really bother me.Version: 3.11.1

Full Price for a third of the desktop .app, No thanks.I’ll pass on the iOS app. I will reluctantly keep the Mac version, until either a better Mac and / or iOS app comes along....Version: 3.8

Waste of moneyI have tried for years to like Omni products. It has been a while since I used this. Hoped maybe the updates made my expenditure worth it. Seems to get worse as time going on. Frustrating interface, glitchy. DO NOT waste money on this product..Version: 3.19

Handy but annoying and buggy to use.Interface is mediocre. Implementation is sketch. They need to divide the options for what you want to do and single them out. Every time I go to move an object 9 times out of 10 it resizes the object. Stupid annoying. To the point I feel the need to write this review. Moving an object is a basic function that doesn’t need to be attached to scaling. Rest of the app is fine. Gonna ask for a refund and go back to open office. Fix your interface and I might come back. Right now I’m sitting at the airport and have made almost zero progress in doing my signal map. As a matter of fact I’m now wasting my time complaining about your app. Thanks for the inspiration..Version: 3.17

Very disappointedI have been an avid user of the Omni suit of products for several years. They delivered great products that were well thought out and performed well. Somewhere along the line they became greedy and stopped caring about their clients. When they launched OmniGraffle for iPad I was over the moon and used it almost daily. Version 2 was my go to for all my planning needs. Version 3 however is a disappointment in every sense. When I first installed it under the demo it kept crashing and freezing. I stopped using it and switched to Grafio instead. This week I got sent a doc created by my client in version 6 on the Mac. Since I only had my iPad Mini with me I thought I’d open it in version 2. No luck it wouldn’t open which meant I got forced to pay £59 for an upgrade to version 3 which I didn’t want. Fine I paid it and tried to open the clients file, it wouldn’t open. Contacted support and after an hour gave up waiting for an reply. (They got back to me two days later) I finally thought to restart the iPad and all of a sudden I could open the file. I spent four hours making changes and adjustments to the clients plan. Closed the app when done. Got home later and opened the file, all my changes were gone! Four hours of work lost! Since I charge £115 per hour that equals £460 loss on my side. Will they compensate me? No. Can I get a refund for an useless app. No. My advice use Adobe XD for wireframes and Grafio for flow charts and planning..Version: 3.11.1

UsefulThe software used to be my mainstay for pdf and ps files. However, often I use different device moving back and forth between them to complete tasks. Not having a license that crosses these different devices and having to purchase the software multiple times is a deal breaker. For now I will only use the mobile version..Version: 3.17

Sample mode is confusing & misleadingThey don't even give you a single sample document to play around with... such a weird pointless mode to the app. Why let you download it without paying in the first place? I would love to be able to assess this without getting trapped in a trial that converts to a $60 annualized charge but nope, I'll assess something else. From the reviews, seems like the user-hostility for trials is protecting me from a frustratingly buggy & undersupported application....Version: 3.19.1

Why so badI’m a big fan of the MacBook version, but the iPad version is simply dreadful. So frustrating to use and doesn’t work with may Apple Pencil. But worst of all loses your work meaning you often have to redo the last 30 minutes or so again. WOULD AVOID!.Version: 3.15.3

Frustrating, in need of a rewriteSame application, same frustrations, same bugs as the other versions going back to 1.0. Clearly this application has never been rewritten, as identical bugs and frustrations have been carried forward. Objects are difficult to select, hard to move around, occasionally it’s unresponsive to taps and drags, and performance is laggy as the number of objects grows, even on an iPad Pro with M1. Sometimes your changes are saved, sometimes they’re not – I just now returned to my documents to find that my saved drawing was a much earlier version, and all of my work since that point was lost. Well, Omni Group, I’ve lost my work with your application for the last time. It doesn’t help that it is published by the greediest company on the App Store except maybe Apple themselves. There’s absolutely no way that this application is worth the extreme price! Stay away from this app, and while you’re at it, the rest of the software from this developer isn’t so great either..Version: 3.16

Used to be greatFreezes constantly which means I can’t use it any more as its unstable. Come on developers, sort this app out.Version: 3.18

Two product crashes during trialCrashed twice when trying to open Visio file to explore how this app supports Visio, as it claims in its description. Removed..Version: 3.13

Can’t even open OmniGraffle filesSo let me get this right, I can’t even open a file from my overpriced desktop copy of OmniGraffle that is saved on Dropbox? So how is this useful exactly?.Version: 3.10.1

5 minutes into Trial and it’s so laggyI don’t understand, I have a 10.5” iPad Pro, why is this so laggy? I’m dragging the stencils around that I downloaded for AWS and it looks like nothing happened. 10 seconds later something moves. It’s not just the stencils, it’s the lines I’m drawing too. This iPad is hardly a slouch performance wise. I don’t see the point to purchasing this unless I’m doing something wrong?.Version: 3.8

Version 3 updates your paid for app into a non-working trialI purchased OmniGraffle for the iPad when it first came out. I used it off and on. Version 3 comes out as an update. It is not an update. It replaces the full version you paid for with a trial version. Pay more money or give up. Other companies make a new app when they want to charge again (I have GoodNotes 4 and 5 on my iPad at the same time), but OmniGroup just causes the one you paid for to be removed and replaced by a non-functional trial. I have used Omni products for years. I bought OmniGraffle for the iPad when it first game out. Removing a customer’s ability to use a previously purchased app is simply unacceptable. I sure am glad they can’t do the same thing on a Mac (at least I hope they can’t). It’s a pity, I used to respect this company..Version: 3.10.1

Convoluted money grabSpent $79 for this app, that’s a lot for an iPad app. Now they’ve “updated” and I’m back to a free version that won’t let me do anything. Have tried to get the upgrade price, it fails. Have tried to restore purchases, it fails. Basically, if you want to pay for this app, decide if it’d be more fun to burn that money in your back yard, or give it to the OmniGroup. It’s basically the same thing, but you don’t get to watch it actually burn if you give it to them. Note: this review comes from someone that’s been an OmniGroup customer for 15ish years. I’ve advocated for them, bought countless licenses for my business and have been a loyal customer...until today..Version: 3.4

Shady bait and switch into purchasing v3. not me!Been a loyal customer for years, upgraded twice. then they pull the bait and switch. sorry app you paid for gone...? unfair business practice. i’d stay away until they can make this right. heard it’s glitchy anyway. Update: Developer contacts me and states that both apps are availible for download... Yeah, but one I bought doesn’t work anymore with a newer device and the other one I bought 2 is not on the store anymore. Extra frustrated now since I was reminded that these devs took our money and claim it’s our mistake... There’s better apps out there. Some of the best are free. My review is now negative 1 star... 👎🏼.Version: 3.14

Version 3I've been using the Mac version for far longer than a decade, and the iPad version since it came out. I have created thousands of diagrams, some with literally hundreds of objects. I find this version nearly unusable. Sad..Version: 3.8.1

HelpI am a big omnigroup fan...have been using OmniFocus and OmniGraffle on MacOS and iOS for years. I use the Mac OmniGraffle app for mockups, wireframes, graphics, algorithm mapping, etc and love it. I have used past versions of OmniGraffle for iOS and they have been good...somewhat hamstrung by my 9.7” and 10.5” screen sizes. I upgraded to the 2018 12.9” pro hoping to be able us OmniGraffle but the experience so far has been horrific. Latency and unresponsive in a small file that I have tried working on from OmniPresence and local iPad storage. I have restarted the app and device as well as in/reinstalled. Painful so far. I will look forward to updating my review with a few more starts soon, I hope. EDIT: It seems that the app chokes when multiple elements within a canvas are copy/pasted. Performance improves greatly when the file is closed and reopened...until the next copy/paste..Version: 3.8

Too cumbersome to be usefulI’d been a long time user of OmniGroup tools on my laptop for years, and wanted to be able to transition over to using it on iPad. This app is just way too clunky to consider it for my workflow. All the tools you need to work are hidden behind so many clicks and settings. It has a lot of features, but they aren’t organized in a way that help you focus. Instead your jumping around between panels and pop-ups to do even the simplest things. I can’t recommend it until OmniGroup makes a serious overhaul to the UI — especially when there are so many better alternatives that aren’t as expensive..Version: 3.15.4

Needs updateThe current version running on the last generation iPad Pro on the latest iOS has video update delays. It is very frustrating when trying to type test in boxes and copying and moving boxes. The screen does not refresh with the updated text until I click again on it. The moved boxes tend to resize before move and the undo does not appear to work since the screen is not refreshing properly. Please look into this. Your products are great..Version: 3.8.1

How have they ruined this?I used to LOVE OmniGraffle 2. It was reliable, intuitive, and made me more productive. Now it crashes (without saving!) every time I try to undo, which is a lot because none of the gestures seem to work properly. Have wasted hours yesterday and today and still not been able to get it working. Outrageously poor given the cost. Only hope the MacOs version is still usable, as I have old documents to update..Version: 3.13

Doesn’t Feel Up to Omni Group StandardsIt is hard to put in to words how I feel about the iOS version of OmniGraffle. While not a power user, I have used the desktop version going back to OG3. Something just feels “off” with the iOS version. I’m almost at the end of my free trial version and I think for the first time I’m going to pass on purchasing the app. In the short trial period I find it frustrating to use. There seems to be some sort of delay selecting objects and it makes it difficult to use. Maybe it’s the limits of iOS, maybe it’s the way the app is written. Whatever it is, it just doesn’t work for me. Personally I feel it is no where near as polished as other OmniGroup products. If it were a $20 app I would accept it, but not at the price OmniGroup is asking. I have a much better experience using Jump Desktop to connect to my Mac and working that way than I do with this native iOS app..Version: 3.14

Paying for it twiceHenning just spent £99 for the standard edition for the Mac, I was disappointed to find I had to pay a further £48 for the standard edition on iOS. Seriously?.Version: 3.6

Not impressed at all...After spending about 4 hours of my time on a diagram (very simple one) for a patent application - this app lost most of my objects and drawing. I wasn’t even doing anything - they just disappeared. If I switch to another app and come back - they flash and go away. Regardless - free isn’t free isn’t free... you get 14 days until you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money... Good it only took me 4 hours to realize I’d never use this thing. Oh - and I’m sure they’ll still charge me in 14 days even though I’ve uninstalled..Version: 3.11.1

Never been able to make it workClunky to use, can’t open documents i created 6 months ago. crashes frequently. i regret my purchase. one of the least useful apps on my 10.5 ipad pro. massive disappointment..Version: 3.15

Don’t buy until they fix the crashinessIt’s a great app except for the fact that it crashes very frequently. I’ve spent 3-4 hours on it today trying to learn how to use it and it crashed at least 5 times during that time. For the price they are asking, this is flat-out unacceptable..Version: 3.7

IPad Version UnusableDesktop is a great whiteboard tool, but on iPad there’s not even an option to edit fonts..Version: 3.19.2

No to 3I’ve been using all of the Omni products, both Mac and IOS since the beginning. Ofocus, OOutiner and Ograffle have been my go-to and most recommended apps. I absolutely hate version 3 of OmniGraffle. It’s non-intuitive and unusable. Half my time now is spent trying to figure out where something is or how to do something that was super simple in the past. It’s a fail..Version: 3.3

Blind faith required apparentlyIt’s extremely arrogant to charge £121 a year for a product someone can’t even trial. Apparently the developer feels everyone everywhere knows the capabilities. Perfectly happy to pay for a subscription if it does what I want, but I’ll never know because I could do approximately 0% of what I needed to try and I’m not about to pay £11 to try something for 15 mins and find out it’s not what I’m looking for. Really weird business choices here..Version: 3.18

Bugs make the app unusableThere is a major bug that causes the canvas to shift partially offscreen when you zoom out. And if you drag an object while the canvas is slightly off screen, the canvas moves even further off screen, and sometimes disappears all together. I’ve reported this to Omni Group A YEAR AGO. They acknowledged the bug as “a known issue” and “hopefully will get a fix soon.” It’s been a YEAR. And no fix. The app is unusable this way..Version: 3.8

Losing the FaithI normally use OmniGraffle an iMac, but when travelling I need to access it on iPad. When I recently bought a new iPad I thought I would be able to continue using my copy of OmniGraffle 2 for iOS. It did not work and I had to buy version 3 for my limited use on iOS. I downgraded from Pro to standard because of the increased price. Initially, I found Version 3 far more difficult to use than V2. With V2 I could easily and quickly create complex flow diagrams, but on V3 I could not create a smiley face without unintentionally resizing components. It is becoming easier with practice, but I find it less intuitive. My biggest disappointment is Omni’s rapidly increasing prices. I have used all of Omni’s apps for many years and they are a major part of my computing life. I have now retired and I will not be able to justify future upgrades for non-commercial use, even though I use them extensively for home and community projects. Update November 2021. I still use OmniGraffle on the Mac but I have given up on the iPad. V3 is frustrating and I have switched to a simple and perfectly adequate alternative for quick diagrams at a fraction of the price. OmniGraffle V3 has been a complete disappointment after years of satisfaction with earlier versions..Version: 3.16

Waste of timeNot only has it crashed multiple times, it loses significant amounts of work each time, and then editing the file becomes buggy. Have invested multiple hours on the trial version, will now find something else. This is a shame, because my memory of an older computer version led me to think this was a good choice.Version: 3.11.1

They don’t let you use the appWhy not just make the app have a cost rather than pretending it’s free?.Version: 3.4

Too basicThe App Store claims this is incredibly powerful and beautiful. I think it is beautiful at the expense of being powerful, and that it lacks many features I expect in a vector drawing app. The help for the app and for the automation doesn't have search or an arrow to take me back to my previous view: I can't find what I want and I get lost. Great for things like org charts and flow charts: each shape has text and can accept connectors. But not great to design and sketch, as the App Store claims it is..Version: 3.1

Copy and Paste Doesn’t WorkCompared to Mac version, this is crap. I love the Mac version but on iOS version, something as simple as copy and paste doesn’t work — very disappointing!.Version: 3.6.1

Constantly losing workThis is totally unacceptable and killing my productivity This app used to be great but whenever I close and reopen or try to export a project the app frequently loses a lot of the additions I’ve made and I have to re-do the work I’m really disappointed such a great app has gone downhill Something is wrong with you’re autosave and I things pushed onto the stack aren’t being saved and work is being lost. Please fix this urgent bug that has persisted even after updating to the latest version and updating my files.Version: 3.14.1

Where’s the colour picker? For a design app it seems like a no brainier. I don’t want to play with 3 sliders to get the same colour each time..Version: 3.8.1

Frustrating to useI want to like this app. I want to USE this app. But it’s very clunky. I try to position shapes but they snap to weird positions that aren’t even on the grid. Creating custom stencils was brutally non-intuitive (apparently they don’t show up if you save them in the cloud?) Sometimes it gets into a mode where I can’t even add text boxes. That was the tipping point for me, leading me to write this review. I know there’s a powerful tool underneath here, it’s just HARD to use, especially compared with the desktop version. Not what I would expect from an app for which I’ve paid so much, nor from a company with so much experience. I don’t want to have to carry my laptop with me just to make some basic diagrams—that’s why I though the iPad app would be useful. I’m sorry, but this app is just really not quite there..Version: 3.11.1

New iPad and lost my purchase.I paid $100 for OmniGraffle 2 Pro and now I no longer have access to it. Awesome..Version: 3.10.1

WowI haven’t used Omnigraffle for some years - I first purchased version one and was blown away by how good it was on the early iPads. I’ve just upgraded to version three, and whilst the app remains very solid from a technical standpoint, the UX of actually using it is infuriatingly inconsistent at best. I have no doubt that once you know all the quirks, then it will be as powerful as previous versions, but what a hill to climb. Some issues I’ve experienced in the first few hours: * Unable to sign up for an OmniSync account (just want the free account that the UI invites me to sign up for, server location not found) * Couldn’t create a doc within Google Drive (just hung, the general Drive/Files integration is pretty shoddy, so this may be on Apple) * Discovering how to manipulate objects took way too long (why is there no integrated help system accessible from within a doc?) * Selecting a locked background object - i.e. one that contains a number of smaller foreground objects - prevents the selection of those contained foreground objects * I have three foreground objects, with the background deselected, only two are selectable, with no indication why the third isn’t * Selecting existing object text is infuriatingly inconsistent (I’ve read the docs, and that approach only works occasionally) Having used the app for a bit, and read some of the other developer responses, this feels like a company that has developed an arrogant streak. These apps are expensive - and rightfully so - but the initial experience should be ‘wow, this was money well spent’, not ‘wow, I want to throw my iPad through the window’... Given the price, and your history, you should be averaging 4+ start, but you deserve the current 2.8 that you have..Version: 3.11.1

No where close to usableExpansive marketing but very little functionality. If you want to do anything more than basic rectangles and circles, find something else. I can create better diagram on KeyNote!.Version: 3.2.1

Can’t open .graffle filesAh sweet, OmniGraffle is available for iOS! Download it, open it, can’t open .graffle files, sweet. Deleted. Pointless waste of time..Version: 3.10.3

Money GrabbingForcing customers into an upgrade cycle, with or without a 50% discount, is a money making spree..Version: 3.12

Purchase, purchase, purchase, byPurchased the MacOS version twice for three Franklands. I thought I purchased the iOS version, but now it cannot remember me. I thought it was a great app, but I just cannot afford to cost of repurchasing. While this developer is not alone in this regard, still I’m done..Version: 3.15.4

Stability IssuesSeems like a very robust version of OmniGraffle, but it closes my document constantly. Should have waited before upgrading to Pro..Version: 3.5

Tired of buying this again and againI’ve been using Omnigraffle for Mac OS X for a long time, and at one point bought the pro version. Evidently that only lasted so long and I had to buy the basic version all over again, and still have to buy the pro version again. Now they want $60 for a basic IOS version. I’m going back to pencil and paper..Version: 3.14.1

Won’t even open on iPad ProPretty lame. MS needs to get on the ball with a full fledged Visio app and not just the reader. Far superior product..Version: 3.16

Unfortunately, uselessI’m a happy customer if Omnigraffle for macOS and I still use it to this day for UX/UI wire framing. Although the desktop app is becoming really ‘legacy’ now, e.g no way to collaborate in real-time, no objects I can create or import to scale elements ‘9-slice’, it is still for me the most effective way to wireframe, as I never got used to Adobe’s offering and greatly disliking a subscription model to come with that. The mobile version though to me is useless. Pretty much every file I import from the desktop app is ‘converted’ because it apparently is powered by an entirely different interpreter, rather than shared by the same code-base. Lots of errors and inconsistencies when the file is finally imported. The feature-set is different, which I understand to a certain degree, but is not feasible for a professional workflow. Lastly the mobile app does not provide any added value either, such a real-time collaboration. Therefore it feels more like a subset app with flaws that doesn’t really know what it’s oughta be. As an existing customer I therefore recommend leaving this one alone in its current state and instead just the desktop version..Version: 3.18

Nice AttemptWhy no pen/bezier tool? For $100 there’s no excuse not to add this. There are $10 apps available with this functionality. Why have a free form tool and Bézier curve editing functionality but then not include a pen tool. I know I know some people say Omnigraffle isn’t a drawing tool. That being said, the thing holding me back from purchasing this tool is the lack of a pen tool. Please make me give you my money by adding a pen tool..Version: 3.2.1

Nice but crashes oftenI’m running the latest iOS 11.1 on an iPad Pro 9.7 creating a simple process flow diagram, and OmniGraffle has crashed on me at least 20 times. Restarting iPad did not improve the instability issues. It’s a nice, highly polished app, but I’m hoping they can improve stability. It’s just too aggravating at this point to try to use it with the constant crashing..Version: 3.3

Basic problemsAs a big fan of the Mac app, the iOS app is disappointing. Basic problems like pasting shapes is slow and often you have to zoom in and out to make the shape appear, when moving an object no outline appears so it’s frankly an awful experience, and poor iCloud support means it’s difficult to work on files between devices (they have to be exported - no I don’t want to set up my WebDAV or Omnipresence account). I’ll be happy to pay to upgrade, but I can’t justify it until the app is usable. I’m hoping the omniGroup people are reading this - I have high hopes..Version: 3.8.1

I expect moreLoyal desktop user. It’s iOS equivalent is not good. Wonder why it was released..Version: 3.11.1

Not at all loving that they killed prior versionsFifty something bucks was a lot to spend on an iPad app in the first place. That they kill off the old versions and make you have to buy upgrades is a non-starter I get that omnigroup is one of the few independent OS X/ iOS software houses left, and that they have to make enough money to stay in business. But they have got to figure out a different way to monetize their mobile apps. Maybe try a subscription model guys, because nobody expects to have to pay for app upgrades on iOS, at any price point. And certainly not at 50-100 bucks. You might sell more licenses at 10 bucks a year..Version: 3.4

PainfulTried to use this on the iPad with the Apple Pencil, but it’s painful to do anything. It resizes when you want to move and moves when you want to resize, there’s no control. It also crashed on my twice (reports submitted) and you can’t export svg, which means I have to use bitmaps when embedding diagrams in wikis for example..Version: 3.19

Weak, flakey, hard to useLooks good but not ready for me. I hope this app is top of their list to fix so it’s usable as a serious creation tool. I downloaded the UML General stencil set. Dragged out a class with properties and methods and immediately the shape collapsed on itself. Managed to enter a couple properties anyway but they are overlapping the class name. I can’t even enter methods as that box doesn’t look selectable. This sort of thing should Just Work. The file selector is harder to use than I’ve seen in other apps, particularly Apple’s. While it does handle live updates from cloud-based documents, it resets your zoom and scroll position. The desktop app is very spiffy and based on that I took the plunge for the pro iPad app. I know Omni is a good company so I expect top flight products. I’ll keep my eye on the updates and revise this review..Version: 3.6.1

Good idea, terrible executionI love OG on the Mac — it’s a great app. But here it’s just terrible. Constant crashes and obtuse usability make it painful to use. A waste of money..Version: 3.16

Minimal usabilityThe usability of this app is just awful. Multiple times I had to Google how to do what seemed to me to be simple things - and sometimes still couldn’t figure it out. And once I did figure it out, the process was generally painful. Disappointing, considering how highly I rate OmniFocus from the same developer..Version: 3.15.4

CrashesI’m a big fan of Omni and have all their products on both platforms, but this version of ‘graffle is buggy as heck. Crashes frequently and the last caused me to lose a bunch of work, which is inexcusable in this era of autosave etc. Also put in a darn bezier tool so I don’t have to use a stencil to do one of the central functions of this type of product..Version: 3.9

Update turns app into a demo!I spent good money on this app but with the recent update I’m left with nothing more than a 14 day trail! The most money I ever spent on a app and now it’s useless! Just another money grab for an already over priced app. So frustrating!.Version: 3.11.1

About to give upI have been using OmniGraffle for many, many years on Mac. I really want to use and like this app. But it is an exercise in frustration with a gesture-based UI that is too fiddly, too complex, and too multi-modal. Want simply to move a shape? I end up re-sizing it. Want to deselect a entry in the left-side nav bar, it will not, even after tapping Deselect All. Likewise, tapping to rename a label causes the entire list to scroll to the bottom, pushing the item being edited out of site. Plus, there are some serious data-losing bugs (I am using iCloud for storage and sync). My suggestion: 1. Have option to invoke isolated, distinct edit modes that do only ONE thing, like moving an item, like resizing an item, like editing labels and text, like changing a color. 2. Fix your bugs. I just lost an hour of work when I went back to the top-level document chooser and then re-opened the same document on the same device to find my last round of edits were gone! 3. Have a non-Edit mode that allows for viewing a document without fear of changing something.Version: 3.15.1

Hmmm…What kind of person would pay over $100 for an app that could be updated to uselessness tomorrow? Not knowing when the disabling updates will come makes buying a temporary app foolish. Apple shares the blame by allowing these types of app purchases. This is the worst type of never-own-ware. Pitiful..Version: 3.17

Old Guard. Obsolete. Overpriced.Try Notion, Coda, Airtable, and others..Version: 3.15.2
