✓ Decent C StudentIn 1989 I ran MacProject on a 16 MHz 68030 Mac IIcx which was roughly 80 times slower than my current MacBook Pro, yet MacProject had signifiantly more capablity and better usablity. OmniPlan still lacks the more sophisticated "network" or PERT Chart capablities of MacProject 31 years ago. OmniPlan still lacks the ablity to have sub-projects, like MacProject had, which makes OmniPlan less than enterprise grade. MacProject was one reason why senior management at Sabre ran Macs in the 80/90's, because MS Project did not come close. This tool is the best we have today for project planning, but by far not the best we have had..CerniukVersion: 4.0.2

✓ Absolutely overpriced, buggy and mediocre when it does workVersion 4 is no different than 3 from what I could see. A few new features that do not help with scheduling, just fluff. Omniplan 3 is now broken and unusable and the fix is to buy a new version. Why would I buy a new version when we are still waiting on fixes from the previous version? I have been trying to use Omniplan 3 for a few years to run my fabrication shop schedule. It has had the same bugs and short comings since day 1. But instead of fixing the one I paid for they made version 4 and said I can upgrade. I paid for the full pro version and was amazed at how buggy it was. And, when it did work it was mediocre at best. We deceived to go with Omniplan and get 1 dedicated Mac just for this software only to find out you can only share with other Omniplan users. So I have to print out screen shots or PDF’s to share with my team. And the tech support, that’s a just message board that has long been abounded I have questions up there for almost a year and not a single person from Omniplan has even bothered to acknowledge them..Tripslip2000Version: 4.2.3

✓ Just too darn difficult to useOn latest iPad Pro 12.9” with latest ipad OS 14.6. It is just so difficult to do things with this. Want to simply add a task? Good luck. Want to simply indent a task to make it a child of a parent task (aka indent it so task above it becomes a group top and the task itself is a member), good luck. It just should not be this hard. I registered for trial so I’d hoped to get more use out of it as evaluation. Maybe unless you pay a hundred bucks or 20 monthly, all these user interface problems disappear? Dunno. Don’t care to find out. Off the shelf, this is a cryptic, difficult to use app that takes legacy MS Project, CA Turbo Project, ConceptDraw Project, and other such industry standard user interfaces and ignores all those decades of lessons learned. It’s as though programmers were told go do whatever you want, don’t even think about usability nor what industry likes to do with other tools this one is supposed to compete with. Go ahead and make it something only you the author of the code can figure out how to use. That’s how I feel this app was pulled together. ✓ Expected more for the priceFirst thing which discouraged me was the manditory online account creation, even though I couldn't get a convincing reason from Omni why it was needed. The next thing was how un-Mac like it felt, which was strange since it's Mac only. It doesn't fit in with the consistent UI we are used to with Apple products. I also couldn't find any way to have sub-projects (where the progress of one project would influence other ones), the ability to prioritise minimising project cost, and a few other things I expected to be there. Some levelling results scheduled tasks for times when their resources weren't available and other strange behaviours. It's great software, but at v4 I thought it would have been better..ReflexxxVersion: 4.5.4

✓ Nothing but crashes for meI bought a new MacBook air looking to finally commit to moving over to apple and was looking for a MS project alternative. After a brief go at this one under the 30-day trial it looked OK. I was after something serious to step up my game, so while the price was high, I was prepared to pay since I believed I was getting pretty much the best I could get on MacOS. Every time I use it however, I always get a crash, have given up and Apple is declining a refund. Which is strange because not actually being fit for purpose, is kind of against consumer laws where I come from… I hope your mileage is better. In hindsight, should have just bought MS Project for my windows machine. I’m back to spreadsheets for now…..RajdorVersion: 4.2.4

✓ A nightmare to manage the licenceI am so upset with how they messed up with suscribers for updates etc. Now lost completly access to the tool after changing mac... I was actually using them as a bad exemple to what not to do when it comes to customer experience. Saddly I really liked the product. But I can use any other app it will just do fine and won't have the issues with licences etc. each time. Their yearly fees are not justified given how poorly they are to take customers complaints in the forums with years of backlogs on very essential and legitimates requests.
