Monoprice Whole Home Audio for Negative User Reviews

Couldn’t get it to work on my networkAfter purchasing the required hardware and numerous conversions with support I could not get this app to work on my network. I wish it worked as easily as the other posts state, I really had high hopes..Version: 1.2

Developer doesnt update app for newer iOS.Bought this app for both an iPhone13 and iPad running the latest iOS. Important buttons on the app dont work. I can turn on individual zones, select a source, balance speakers left or right, and turn off all zones. None of the other controls work such as zone volume, individual zone power off, bass, or treble..Version: 1.7

App does not work on a 2nd deviceThe app on my wife’s phone shows an older configuration (I previously made some changes to sources and zone names and those changes are not carried forward when using the app on her phone) and as a result does not allow me to control my Monoprice Home Audio Controller..Version: 1.8

Worked for 1 week…Updated iOS, and will NOT control the 6-zone. It’s routing correctly - when I provide a bad IP app errors out, good IP doesn’t error. It just won’t control the iTach / 6-zone. Volume stays at zero, and clicking on different inputs doesn’t change. I’ve done a factory reset on iTach, rebooted 6-zone…no joy…was awesome for a week. I deserve a refund….Version: 1.7

No Longer WorksThis app is not able to control the sound and only activated the different zones which makes your audio system useless as the point of the app is to control volume, sources and zones. Please take this app off of the market place if it does not work as it should!!!!!.Version: 1.7

Does not work with monoprice receiver/adapterI downloaded this app a month or so ago, and the old version worked intermittently to control my monoprice multizone receiver (10761) via a monoprice RS232 adapter (39263), but the new version (1.8) doesn’t seem to work at all. All of the zones appear “off” in the app (even through they are on) and the controls do not work. I plan to email support to see if this can be resolved, and will update this review if it is..Version: 1.8

UnreliableIt is buggy. It frequently fails to load the state from the amp, frequently gets out of sync (showing a zone as on when it is not), frequently crashes. Requested a refund from Apple..Version: 1.5

Incompatible with new iOS 15I just installed my system in a new construction and omitted the keypads for aesthetics. Big mistake at this point. The app just doesn’t work. I am hoping it is due to new iOS and the developer will release an update. Otherwise, between my wife and I, we just made a $20 donation. I would say the app is at a 30-40% functioning rate about 30% of the time..Version: 1.7

Applications seems greatApplication seems good but not sure if I have a bad iTach Device or something has changed. I added my IP, zones. And sources to app and it connects but never lets me change anything. The volume or settings do not show up..Version: 1.2

Great app…when it works. The overall use of this app is great. The user experience is well done and simple. Unfortunately it only works correctly about 20% of the time. The app will disconnect and will not reconnect on its own. Since this app is quite simplistic there is no way to reset or reconnect or configured in more depth. “Unable to connect to server, check settings “. There is nothing to check in settings and the link to app support doesn’t work so I don’t know if this will ever get fixed. The app would be perfect if it didn’t drop connection so frequently with no way for the user to fix immediately..Version: 1.8

Works mostlyThis app works but has some quirkiness. The bass and treble controls lock up. I have to close the app and reopen to adjust those settings. Usually get 1 or 2 adjustments before having to do it again..Version: 1.5

ConnectivitySo many problems with the connectivity and IP address. Even after resetting a million times, it will not work with my monoprice whole home system. Waste of $10 bucks and no one to call for assistance.Version: 1.5

Now it’s bricked but it was awesomeThe last update just blinks and never runs. It shows up on a double tap, but one can’t get to it. DO NOT update your app. Such a bummer. It worked great..Version: 1.4

DO NOT BUY THISI spent over $100 for all of the parts required for this app to work and after two days of literally going through countless configurations of trying to get this to work, nothing. Customer service is a joke. Should’ve known Monoprice was a joke from the beginning as they have no integration with mainstream companies whatsoever... waste of money..Version: 1.2

Apple 4 watchApple removed on last update?.Version: 1.3

Stopped workingNot sure what happened. IP address is correct and port is set to 4999…….says cannot connect to server. Would like to hear from developers if possible..Version: 1.8

Can’t get it workingI’m having a similar experience to another user. Installed, configured, but can’t connect. No trouble shooting information, settings, or support seem to be available. I am able to successfully connect and control the monoprice amplifier with a free alternative… it’s a shame because I was happy to pay for what I had read was a well developed app. I now wonder if the app I read about is gone and this came in its place (the name isn’t quite the same). I’m happy to work with the dev if they reach out. I tried to click the “support” link on the App Store and got a “failed: too many redirects” error in safari!.Version: 1.7

1.8 brokeUpdated to 1.8 and now my controller doesn’t work! Can’t roll back! FIX THE ISSUE!.Version: 1.8

Not working, no helpThe app is not working for me. I was able to install and configure the app without issues, but when I try to connect the server Ip (rs-232 to IP adapter from Monoprice) I instantly get a error saying the server can’t be found. I have verified that the app is authorized to the local network. I’ve trace my network and the app doesn’t seem to make a call at all. Looks like a bug in the app, possibly making it incompatible with the latest iOS versions ? I’m using a iPhone 12 and the latest version of iOs. The 1 star is not for the issue itself, this can happen, but rather because the app doesn’t any useful troubleshooting information and my emails to customer support as suggested in the app description have not been acknowledged or answered. I paid this app for nothing..Version: 1.7

Spotty reliability and performanceThis app sorta works, but it’s far too unpredictable. It might work perfectly for a day or two, and then barely function the next day. Luckily, the ability to turn a zone on or change its input source works the most reliably. That’s my most common use for it. The current volume levels, and the ability to change a zone’s volume is what usually fails. My RS232 adaptor is wired and rebooting it doesn’t seem to really improve the performance. I’m glad it kinda works when I want to turn a zone on from another room (especially the outside speakers without going in the house), but it’s pretty half baked..Version: 1.7

Stopped working with iOS updateThe app was fine for years. A bit glitchy but ok. Since the latest iOS update the app will only turn on the Monoprice 6 Zone Amp. Ot will no longer control volume, select inputs, or turn off individual zones. It renders the home audio system almost worthless. This app badly needs an update or a developer to create an alternative or integrate control of the iTach to control the amp into a home IoT control app (e.g. the SmarterThings app)..Version: 1.7

Works sometimesVolume doesn’t work I need to restart the app often. on and off switch doesn’t respond same as above. In the few instances it did work great..Version: 1.8

Volume Controls are not working in iPhone v15App looks good however the controls are not working in iPhone v15 and not able to find support contact.Version: 1.7
