✓ Why no portrait mode?This app is pretty decent for tracking your ride, I paid for the premium hoping there would be more features. I don’t understand why there is no portrait mode. It would look great on Instagram, and most of the photos I took were in portrait mode and look awkward in the video. Also why can you not crop the photos so that they don’t look weird in your videos? ✓ Overpriced for what it offers.Fantastic idea, really nice to #relive your runs or rides. Especially over a decent distance and multiple riders... however Like other reviewers I’m also fed up at the IAP purchase/subscription model that app devs are all crazy for. If you MUST have a subscription model think about your punter... it’s too pricey. Bearing in mind most people who’ll use this probably already pay for a Strava premium subscription (not to mention other subs like Netflix/Spotify et al) asking £80 pa or £8pcm is just too much. IF it was £30 or £3 pcm I am sure most people would snap this up and they’d have more paying customers and therefore a bigger income?! Till then. ✓ Good but could be great!Please add more functionality to customise the videos. Such as removing key events / stats (heart rate, fastest speed etc) Another winning feature would be multi-day activities. Currently you can only produce one video per recorded event but for multi day events such as riding from A to B over several days the only way to do this is by merging your files on a computer and manually uploading to relive but then the stats are all totally wrong. ✓ Buyer BewareThe app itself is fine, that's not what's driving a 1-star review. You should know that this company is very inflexible in its renewal policies and refund policies. I thought I had cancelled this renewal some time ago, but couldn't find any documentation to that effect. I wrote to them as soon as I was billed for the renewal to request immediate cancellation and a refund. Here’s their reply. Hi there, According to our system, your subscription was not cancelled before the renewal. When you joined Plus, it was stated that the subscription will renew automatically unless you cancel it. We won't offer a refund on your Relive Plus subscription. You will still retain access to Relive Plus until your current subscription period ends. See you on the outside, Janie ———————————- Most of the apps and services I subscribe to annually send a reminder prior to renewal. Relive did not. We are “adulting” here; Responsible for reading the fine print of the EULA as well as accepting the consequences for failing to. It just feels like a money grab on their part. In summary, I have no complaints with the app or its functionality, and the timeliness in their response to my refund was great. I only use the free version and get a notification a day about upgrading plus the addition emails and continual suggestions to join and create challenges. ✓ TOTAL SCAM ON RENEWALI downloaded the app and created an account from my apple log in and subscribed to an annual plan. 6 months later I removed the app as I was no longer using it. Yesterday I checked my bank and could see that they were going to charge me for my annual fee again. As I created an account through my Apple ID it does not show as a subscription through my iPhone. A renewal reminder was never emailed to me either. When I emailed their customer services they refused to give me a refund after I explained everything and stated that it’s not their policy to send out annual subscription reminders. ✓ Interesting idea but they push subscription heavilyI’ve used this app a year or so and they have a very annoying feature that auto picks photos to appear on a video. With their latest release they made it harder to see your photos, I have a hard time finding what they picked and I missed one that I didn’t want included in the video. I also can’t tap on the videos to see which I already marked as favorites in Apple photos. They are displayed very small in the app and hard to pick the right one, especially the Live Photo’s they don’t play now to see what you picked before it goes in the video. If you end up with something you didn’t like, that’s it, you can’t edit it without paying monthly fee. They seem to be making it harder to get a good result without paying, had several messed up videos in the past few weeks. This map today also didn’t follow the distance in my Apple watch for the workout for the hike, the path was messed up with excess zigzagging and different distance than we did. ✓ Riding w/ friends different from video demoDeceptive demo showing individual riders are tracked IS NOT POSSIBLE with the app. After receiving a reply from tech support, I was informed that the only way to include your friends is to “tag” them, but it will show you all riding together on the map unlike the product video. ✓ Great idea but implementation is ehI downloaded this app to try it out. It immediately had me create a sample video from a hike I did a couple years ago. It was easy and the finished product with photos we took along the way was great. But then I tried to create a video from a recent bike tide we took and thats when it all went south - although I linked the app to Apple Health it only allows me to pick from a limited choice of dates. Why does it black out most of the dates I was active and only allow a weird random group of dates? - it doesn’t automatically choose the appropriate photos like it did in the first sample video and even when you try to choose photos manually it just shows all the photos in your library. It does not even group them by date to help you select the right date. I get that the free version never has all the features of the pid version but if the free version is so bad why would anyone pay for the paid version. ✓ Serious limitation on video lengthI don’t know if somehow today I just happened to have more video clips then usual but the program limited the video clips and I believe this is a serious limitation on usage of the app. Seems like as long as you use only photos, you should be Ok, but the problem is that video is the only way to show certain things. Sometimes photos just aren’t enough and while the tracking is kind of cool and works well, it will become stale after a few times if you cannot be more creative with the videos it creates..Version: 5.38.1

✓ Good options but highly unreliableThe features this app offers are not easy to find, but unfortunately, it is highly unreliable. I used it on long hikes, I started to record, only to find out hours later that the app stopped tracking my hike. no error, the marker just stopped moving. it happened 3 years ago, and 2 out of 3 times it will fail. this year, doing a multi day hike, with latest ios, still the same problem. so can’t trust this app..Version: 4.10.0
✓ Subscription warningThe app is enjoyable to use and a lovely way to illustrate rides. Unfortunately, if you choose to subscribe to Relive outside of Apple, you do NOT get a renewal warning and they won't refund. Whilst I want to support the app, and have subscribed since 2020, I'm quite shocked at this policy and the brusque customer service when I politely enquired. The lack of focus on a positive customer experience suggests to me that Relive is now similar to the big boys like Strava, Garmin etc where they don't really care about users or community and see us simply as numbers on a spreadsheet that they can show to investors. If you want to subscribe, stick with subscribing through Apple so you get the warnings and can cancel in good time. The base app is still fun for occasional use..Version: 3.88.0
✓ Premium is not worth premium subscription costThe app is gimmicky and not worth using unless you're using the free version. However, there are limitations in music choice and the syncing with Fitbit is inconsistent, requiring constant uploading of GPX files. The auto-renewal of the premium subscription is a terrible con since there's no cooling-off period for a refund, leaving you stuck with a subpar app for another 12 months. ✓ What happened to the good music?Well I’m truly glad I downloaded and saved my videos with the music available around two years ago because the current music selection is on the nose. It used to be better and we should have the option to use the music which was once previously available to us. Not really a tool imho… One flaw is it does not calculate average speed correctly - the app does not account for stopped time properly during a ride,… my 34 mile ride today with a total time of 2:08:00 minus 14:00:00 is around a 17.8 mph average… but the app isn’t subtracting stooped time, so it’s spitting out a 15.9 mph average based on the 2:08:00 total… I’m sure not posting a 3D video with a bogus average speed for all to see. ✓ Only works for runs *after* you installSo I finished a run with a friend, they told me about the app, and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it doesn't work with past runs, only if you go running after you install it and pair Strava. And I only figured that out after reading their help topics, because the app doesn't make this clear anywhere. That's not a really good first experience. It's possible to make a video of a past run, but only after subscribing to a 11 usd monthly plan, which is not something you'd be enticed to do if you can't even see how the app works first. ✓ So/so3 stars: Music & extra photos require a subscription. I purchased the annual option, used it first day and loved it. Used it day 2 and the app/website says they are experiencing technical difficulties (down for 5 hours now). Hope this is a rarity vs. common occurrence. ✓ Deleting your app because of spam emails.I downloaded your app to compare it to Natural Atlas, which I use for kayaking trips. I haven’t even used it for one trip yet, but I’m sick of the spam emails that you relentlessly send me, so I’m deleting it. It is freaking ridiculous for you to send that many emails in that short of time. It’s obnoxious and there are too many alternatives to put up with this. *I tried to use it for one trip, but due to poor cell coverage, it only uploaded 2/5 pictures. ✓ It stopped workingI’ve had this app for a while and I like the idea that it allows you to create a montage of your ride/walk but, as of November 2020, it seems to have stopped importing from my Garmin Connect account and when I try to force the app to sync it says there are no activities to import when I know there are. BUT, worst part of Plus membership is limited to just a few preloaded music options and not able to use your own music clips. ✓ So what happened?I’ve been using Relive to document my thru-hike of the APpalachian Trail, and today an update was pushed to my app and pretty much bricked it. I turned my device off and on. Logged out. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. And it will not let me log back in and has given me the ‘Whoops. Something went wrong. Retry again later.’ Message for everything I have tried from uploading and creating videos to attempting to log back in. Please fix. Creating and editing the video has major challenges. 1) You can’t sort photos at a moment to the order you want. 2) You can’t have total video longer than 60seconds, but once you surpass nearly impossible to go back to delete or shorten videos in previous moments. 3) The thumbnail view can be tapped to open in full view and to turn on/off the Live Photo (and save video space) and adjust length of video but once the 60second is surpassed you can no longer do this. Once the initial novelty has worn off of seeing a video of your journey it’s a fairly pointless app. Other more and less well known apps have far better and more useful features for free It’s good for that once in a lifetime trip but pointless if you’re using it for regular training on the same frequently used routes ……. ✓ Love it But...Fix the Phantom Rides!I love the flyover Relive video. That's really the ONLY reason i use it. But, the app adds phantom activities. It seems to happen whenever I use the app. I record my ride and once I finish I now have two activities. One is my actual ride. The other is a phantom activity with a random number of miles and a 0 duration time, 0 elevation and a speed in the 5-6 digits! So I have to spend time removing these activities. Fix it! ✓ Great app But !!I have just downloaded this as it say free to use and it is but limited. From what I have seen I like but to purchase it is so expensive £80 pa or £8 pm. All you get is music and editing features and you able to load your older activities with a few more things like bigger data. 1. It way to expensive as all other users have suggested 2 it would be good to get a sample of what the paid version will be like especially at that price like 1 month free (not that I would pay £80pa. ✓ Not even working.I don’t how this app rated so high. It doesn’t work creating videos 9 out of 10 times. It’s good concept. But I tried both iPad, Samsung with short and long hiking and biking. Only new activity work exactly once. It randomly selects pictures and if you do not change any settings it will create a animated map. After the first run if you add additional pictures or change any settings it will take forever and finally a sorry message. It’s absolutely pain to use a barely working app. All my activities are imported from garmin and I only got 2 videos after a whole evening struggling..Version: 5.25.1

✓ Good appIt’s awesome to show where you have been and sharing to the social media’s platforms. There are challenges on the app where you can share and collaborate with the other users around the world but only one issue. The app allows people to record activities without detecting of the genuine activity. People would join a motorcycle riding challenges to complete 30,000 km in a year, then record while taking an international flight. Very petty but developers don’t seem to do anything about it. It’s just annoying when you want a genuine competition against other users then allow something like this to happen..Version: 5.11.0
✓ ProblematicI bought a subscription and couldn’t use it because the app didn’t recognize I had paid for it. I wrote to support and took them two days to fix the problem. There are many bugs especially in the loop. I wrote to them, they said it’s a bug, no fixing. So I can’t use that option. They advertise you can add music to your video but the truth is that there are 8 tracks to choose from, only 2 maybe are nice the others are stupid. You can’t use your own music. I like the idea of this app and have use it. But for what they charge it’s not worth it. I cancelled the subscription. If I knew these things before I would never pay for this. ✓ Just doesn’t workI just can’t get this app to work. Downloaded it to my iPhone XR which is running the most recent update. Tried to create a story from my past rides from iPhone health data and from Garmin Connect. Tried many different rides, short and long. Fails every time. Fails on the retry eveytime too. ✓ Used to be great…Unfortunately, it is now frustrating. The paid version is so expensive!!! Compared to more powerful GPS apps, I’m perplexed as to how much they charge. I don’t have the budget for this one, so I’ve stayed with the free version I’ve enjoyed for years. I use it for many mountain hikes. Now however, the angle of view set up for my videos is behind the mountains, so you don’t even see the track! Just trees on a mountain from the other side; no way to edit the point of view in the free version (is this feature even available on the paid version?). Then it runs off into an unknown area completely away from the track. I hope they fix it. If it was a more reasonable price, and view angle was an edit option, I’d buy it..Version: 4.21.0

✓ Interesting, but severely flawedTakes a random time than can vary from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours to render your ride (which is fine, because it does it for free). Notifies you that the ride is ready to watch but the video simply won't play. It can take from minutes to hours AGAIN for you to be able to actually watch your video AFTER you have been notified that it is ready to watch. If the video is not ready, why tell the user to go and watch it? So frustrating!.Version: 2.3.4

✓ Sharing issuesGreat idea, but serious shortcomings. I suppose if you use it for yourself on a mobile device and don’t share, then it might be OK. But not if you want to share your activities. To view someone’s activity you must create an account login, even if they want to share with you. But you can’t create an account on a desktop/laptop, not can you follow someone on a desktop/laptop. That means that someone who doesn’t have a mobile device can’t follow you or view your activities. So if you have elderly or mobility-impaired folks that have no mobile devices, then they can’t follow your activities. It’s also not very intuitive to set up. Nor can one expand the photos to see them better. I wouldn’t use it except to follow two friends backpacking journey. Once they are done, the app will be removed from my device. ✓ I really want to like this appThis app comes close, it comes SO CLOSE to being great. But unfortunately it had a single giant flaw that prevents it from being useful for my situation. My biggest complaint is that there algorithm to group photos into “Moments” is pretty bad. Feeding it a 5 hour track with upwards of 250 photos, and it groups them into just 10 “Moments”. Rather than spacing them out closer to where the photos were actually taken, it tries to group them far too closely together and has many off by dozens of miles. I understand their logic of not needing to be super ultra accurate with photo location, but this goes way way too far into the oversimplified direction. To make it worse, when you do add “Moments”, you have to manually add the location/time when they were taken. The app won’t just read that data off of the photos that you import, even though it would be so easy for it to do. All of that data is right there. This big flaw of adding moments being an incredibly manual process, when it should be so easy to have automated, is the biggest disappointment of this app. It’s a shame, because if that were just fixed I would have subscribed in an instant..Version: 5.36.1
✓ Worked great until…..….until I tried the upgrade, at which point it stopped reading the tracking information from the paddleboard apps I use on my Apple watch. Before I tried the update it transferred the tracking from both the Waterspeed and Watersports Tracker apps. I Tried the update because I wanted more flexibility for editing the Relive video. Ever since I tried the upgrade it will no longer import the tracking information from my Apple watch, as it did when I was using the free version. Now that I am back to the free version it STILL is not working. Now it is just taking up space in my phone. I might as well delete it. It now says “Whoops! ✓ Cool, but inaccurate appI’ve been using this app for several months. It’s a great idea and I love the videos. However, it consistently misrepresents my distances and elevation gains, which is super annoying. My Apple Watch and SUUNTO report one set of distance and elevation figures and then Relive displays different numbers, usually shorter distances and lower elevation gains. I emailed Relive about this problem and someone reached out to me asking for a list files from my devices as though this is a new problem they’re unaware of. ✓ Poor functionality when crossing European bordersMy phone plan doesn't have coverage in Switzerland. It only has coverage in Italy, France & Slovenia. Riding a motorcycle in the Alpine passes was sadly not well captured as my ride approaches the Swiss border (and same with Austrian border too). App crashed and I lost everything for 3 consecutive days. After deleting and re-installing, I'm still getting problems capturing the data. It still draws a straight line btwn towns while I'm riding the Swiss trains (already switched to a local Swiss SIM card). Older versions worked absolutely fine when I was capturing Navajo territory in NMexico and Arizona. But then again, I didn't have to contend with different telecom carriers..Version: 3.110.2

Now, every time I use this app, it either unexpectedly drops from GPS and stops tracking you after a half mile; or it can’t track you the entire journey. For example: I went for a 9 mile paddle yesterday, tracked perfectly for the first 2+ miles, then all of the sudden it’s showing me out in the middle of the woods, the highway, etc. this never happened last year when I used this app religiously. ✓ Very disturbing invasion of privacyThe idea and execution of this app are both very cool except for one very troubling aspect…it is always watching, no matter what you do. I noticed it had a long list of walks, hikes and rides that I had done WITHOUT turning on the app to record them. So I went into settings and turned the location setting to “Never”…figuring I could turn it on when I wanted to record an activity. But I just came back from a ride and the app had recorded without me turning it on and with location services off!!! ✓ Amazing app... Almost 5⭐️ but...Two things: 1) Premium doesn't live up to the price tag at all. Nearly £40 a year just to be able to edit activities and add a basic soundtrack to the videos.
