Curio - Audio Journalism for Positive User Reviews

Superb appI just wanted to say thank you for all the major changes that you have done with this app! It's perfect now. After getting the app, I don't use other apps for hearing news anymore. This does it all..Version: 3.8.39

Love being able to listen to audio articlesBest way to discover what's going on around us every single day and learn what it's about quickly without reading word by word, page by page..Version: 3.8.39

Strange UX choicesThere's no way to add something to queue from the For You page?.Version: 4.8.17

Love itRecommend.Version: 6.0.0

Best thing to listen to on my commuteI love listening to the high-quality articles on Curio. I don’t have time to actually read the long-form journalism articles but I love listening to them on Curio, while doing other things like commuting or cooking at home. If I want to understand a little more on what’s happening in global news, I tune into the Informed show. The show always gives me thoughtful analysis and commentary..Version: 7.25.0

Genuinely surprisedI went into this expecting to not even use my free trial and then cancel. By some odd coincidence I ended up driving for longer during the day than I normally would. I figured let’s use that free trial. I listened to one and then another and then another. It has been about a month and i’ve listened to the readings at least once every time I drive but it has extended to when I’m in the house. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on all of these articles and Curio has made it so accessible to me.I love this and I have no intention of removing my subscription..Version: 6.1.2

Was skeptical but keep coming back for moreSuper interesting articles with great readers . Could be developed into having more personalised settings/library, but my expectations were by far exceeded and £50 a year are well worth all the knowledge.Version: 4.4.3

Thoroughly worth the moneyI discovered Curio via an app on Instagram & took a trial. It’s a great app because it combines a bunch of different expensive newspapers & magazines in to one subscription and all the content is in audio. I like listening to things much more than reading, because I can do other things in the background. Highly recommend.Version: 7.25.0

Too few read articles from a single publicationIn general is good. But there are too few articles from economists, FT and economists read daily in my opinion. Only 2-3 new ones on average..Version: 5.0.3

Love this!Still so simple to listen to and the articles that get recommended are always commendably easy to listen to..Version: 6.2.18

Great content, app is a bit buggyAs I say the content is great, and the narration is largely brilliant (although the accents can be a bit eccentric when they are quoting people). The app on the other hand is a bit buggy. I sometimes have to quit and reload the app because it has seized up. Sometimes the carousel at the top of the home page gets jammed (iPhone SE). Today all of the icons have been replaced by squares. So, a 5 star app let down by a few minor UI bugs. Please fix and I’ll update to 5 stars..Version: 2.3.7

Absolutely fantasticI can’t stop recommending this app to people. I use it every day and listen on my way to work it while cooking dinner. Great stories from a wide range of sources and unlike many audio books, I am yet to find a narrator with an irritating voice! Well worth the monthly fee..Version: 6.1.6

Love the way it worksNumerous interesting articles would inspire you and give you the power to get over every single trouble , I swear.Version: 3.8.39

Was Great…At the outset what made curio great was their ability to select the best and most interesting articles from the world’s top publications. The readers are pitch-perfect, and their selection of long-form content was astoundingly good. Since then, although we’ve seen many improvements, in particular to the app interface, Curio also seems to have lost sight of it’s most important qualities. The strongest indication of this is the new “Curio Thinkers” section. Curio now includes, alongside top articles from the Economist and the Financial Times, audio content from their own sub-par journalists. Curio’s Thinkers seem intent on producing masses of click-bait type articles. The increasing number of titles along the lines of “5 improbable ways you can get fitter smarter and more productive” seems prophetic of Curio’s tragic transformation into yet another lame self-help app. Instead of all this rubbish, Curio should try to get more top publications onboard (New Yorker, Sunday Times…) and connect better with other platforms for consuming audio content. Listening to articles is a nerdy, niche thing to do. If Curio wants to retain that niche it needs to focus on its core nerdy audience rather than try appeal to the larger mass of buzzfeed/tiktok consumers who will soon lose all interest..Version: 6.2.20

Great way of getting news in the busy worldI have been using curio every single day for the past month and it’s a fantastic app for getting the important news for me. I really enjoy the application despite some bugs here and there. I really would enjoy if they have a beta program as they could squash bugs even faster..Version: 4.6.3

Great contentGreat content. Will need to evolve a few features like Apple CarPlay, sonos or AirPlay features perhaps, and easier queuing up interested topics. But the content is solid and makes it worth it.Version: 5.2.7

Strongly recommend itI've used several apps for having the same features as Curio but none of them allows me to download any articles I loved. I don't know why they restrict that function but Curio doesn't.Version: 3.9.36

So cool! It’s amazing that I can access articles from so many news sources in one app! And I love that I can just listen to stories on the go. And the fact that content on the app is curated means I don’t have to search through dozens of news articles on the web to find just what I’m looking for. Bravo!.Version: 5.0.6

Great content, sub-par appWide range of articles, well read by decent narrators. The app is clearly non-native (not necessarily a problem) and exhibits many of the typical janky traits of a non-native app (that’s a problem). It’s also almost broken on iPhone X, with back buttons appearing almost out of reach at the top of the screen, and the “now playing” slide positioned mostly under the navigation..Version: 2.3.7

The world in my earsThis is by far the best app i have found for keeping up with current affairs - the fact i get to hear perspectives across multiple sources is tremendously valuable to me and makes me feel far more aware of what’s happening. A few years ago i had been completely sucked in by terrible news sites like the Daily Mail (awful to admit) but i now feel genuinely happier and less anxious about what’s happening in the world. Thank you so much Curio, sincerely!.Version: 7.25.2

Favorite audio newsIt never fails to disappoint me. I really like the ability that I could tell it the amount of time I have for listening. Then just select the article you like to hear.Version: 3.8.39

Great app for in-depth news coverageI was feeling exhausted from constantly scrolling through doom and clickbait news when I discovered Curio. This app offers over 30 premium and trusted publications to explore. In today's polarized world, it's incredibly helpful to listen to viewpoints from both the right and left wings on various topics. Thanks to Curio, I now have a better understanding of the world and can identify trends early, which is beneficial both personally and professionally. It provides in-depth news coverage that equips me to better understand the most critical factors shaping the world. I highly recommend Curio if you want to improve your understanding of the world but are short on time. The narrators are excellent and you can listen to thoughtful analysis while walking or commuting..Version: 7.25.0

Love itI’ve been thoroughly enjoying Curio over the least year. Use it almost daily. Top publications + original content (“Wake up with Curio” - that’s what I literally do every day, “the Weekend Edit” literally is start of the the weekend for me).Version: 6.29.0

Great audio contentGreat content that’s provided in audio format. The topics are engaging and the selection changes regularly. Some articles are a bit older (I just listened to once published from 2013), but I still find it relevant. Great concept! Only negative thing is that the playlist doesn’t remove the previously listened to pieces, meaning you have to remove them manually to get an unrepeated stream. Otherwise, I’d love to see (maybe in the future) articles not just from the anglophone world, but also from other well respected magazines from other cultures..Version: 5.2.0

Fantastic for triggering researchLove this app. It’s helped me find pathways for my research. Well done..Version: 5.0.5

Dump AI and bring back categorily tabI use this app mveru intermittently, mostly in long drives and road trips. The last time I used it, the UI was simple and allowed me to discover content by category. They've dumped a category tab/page in favor of AI... Like most needless implementations of over hyped tech, newer isn't better. Give me the categories page back.Version: 8.1.1

High quality audio journalism in one placeI absolutely love Curio! This app is a must-have for anyone who wants to stay informed about current events, but also wants a break from reading. I typically use Curio on commutes to work, walks, and whilst running. The human-narrated and curated audio content is top-notch, and having all of the best publications in one place is incredibly convenient. I particularly enjoy the short-form daily news analysis which provides me with a quick rundown of the day’s most important stories. But what really sets Curio apart is the longer-form content, which allows me to dive deeper into topics that interest me from many popular publications. The human touch in the analyses is incredibly refreshing, especially in a world with rapid advancements in AI, I can only see human generated content getting more valuable. The app has quickly become one of the favourites, and I can’t wait to see what improvements they make to the product..Version: 7.27.0

Curio ... love it!I feel inspired to learn something new everyday! This has a broad selection of topics that have short, manageable time frames to deliver knowledgeable, credible information to digest. I make jewelry (more than ever since the pandemic). My hands are busy and I love listening to podcasts or Ted talks to quench my thirst of relevant interesting and newsworthy topics👍.Version: 5.1.1

Best way to get the news!Although I have so many podcasts to listen to, I find myself coming back to Curio because it is such a convenient way to keep up with the news. I love the fact that there is short content I can pick up on a 10 minute walk from the tube as well as longer articles that I wouldn’t have time to read normally. I’m discovering more content from american publications I would never normally subscribe to as well as my favourites from UK - particularly enjoying the Atlantic..Version: 7.25.0

A must have appAt first I was a bit skeptical about using this app but i was wrong. The male voice is really calming and impressed me.Version: 3.8.39

The most informative appI cannot recommend Curio highly enough. The content, the quality of the readers ensures a concise and interesting listen. When you don’t have time to sit and read all of the underlying material - Curio will do it for you..Version: 6.2.12

Love the app and the content.Great app! I love listening to stories while I do mindless chores like walking place, doing laundry, drying dishes etc. Definitely recommend for anyone who struggles to find time to stay informed and is looking for a way to fit quality journalism into a tight schedule..Version: 2.0.2

Worth paying forThis app is definitely worth paying for - there’s a wide range of news stories that are covered from the world’s most renowned publications. A really great way to keep on top of what is happening the world without having your eyeballs glued to a screen. I see myself using this app for many years to come, as long as they are able to maintain the level of quality that they currently have..Version: 7.9.1

My new favourite appI was getting so bored of my podcasts and audiobooks are so long and dull, but Curio hits a real sweet spot - fascinating content, the narration is amazing, and I feel more informed about what’s happening in the world. I was so excited to see they now have The Atlantic as well!! Keep up the great work Curio.Version: 7.25.0

Stay informed without feeling overwhelmedCurio has been an incredible addition to my life. I have always wanted to stay up to date with current events, but recently found it hard to avoid doom-scrolling and also click baity style pieces, then Curio appeared. Curio keeps me informed but also refreshed - I know their content can be trusted and is the best out there. It is also so refreshing to have human narration rather than AI! Would definitely recommend to download and subscribe..Version: 7.25.0

Just what I have been looking forIn a time when we have who-knows-how-many low quality podcasts being pumped out of living rooms and makeshift recording studios on a daily basis, Curio provides a refreshing alternative. High quality, well produced journalism from a variety of outlets, in audio format, all in one subscription. My only feedback would be to see even more media sources on the platform, but I’m sure that is a work in progress..Version: 6.8.0

Short and timelyI am a huge fan of audio books and this is great as the articles have been well selected, there are a broad range of topics and not too long - great for getting an across the board view of current affairs..Version: 6.7.0

Why has this taken so longJust love this. Can't understand why an app like this hasn't existed all this time. Can only hope you guys are getting more publications and expanding your offer..Version: 2.0.2

Thumbs upWell worth giving a try if you are finding a way to hear articles instead of reading. You can't change the voice between male or female but you could be assured that the reader's voice is easy to hear.Version: 4.0.2

This is freaking awesomeCurio is informative and a convenient way to hear great articles from great journalism . The quantity of the article is rather not important as its quality, so just keep updating only great articles.Version: 3.8.39

Good ideaThis is an excellent, well designed app for both my phone and ipad pro. Easy to use and saves me from using my eyes too much just for reading news.Version: 3.8.39

Issues with OpeningHi Curio team! The app is great, but for the past two days I haven’t been able to open it… I’ve reinstalled it and restarted my phone, none of which helped. Would you have any suggestions?.Version: 6.19.0

Up to date articlesI literally like the way it works. There are so many new articles everyday for you to listen if you think the diversity of articles it has is very limited.Version: 3.9.36

You are the bestI have subscribed to many online newspapers that I would like to read and this app is helping save money because it has all the top stories from most of the famous publication in the US. Thank you for the app..Version: 3.8.39

I've had wonderful experience with itReading is good but sometimes it consumes much time. Listening is way convenient than reading but you might not remember much information. So it's up to you. I love listening so I love this app.Version: 4.0.2

Almost amazing!Content is brilliant, however Curio is sadly lacking an all important “sleep” function - meaning that if you go to sleep listening (as I like to) then you have to wake up and turn off the app on the night, which is hugely disruptive. Have stopped using until this is resolved..Version: 4.0.8

Great watch experienceBut I used "sign in with apple" to Sign Up on my watch. Then I downloaded the iOS app to my phone... How do I sign in with apple? There's no button like that in the phone app?.Version: 4.5.3

Almost perfectIt would be five stars if it had more international content. Australian articles in particular....Version: 5.0.22

5 out of 5As reviews stated we were not certain to use this app but we took a chance and it was great experience, all the articles are available for downloading , marked as favorite and ready to be added to your playlist.Version: 3.8.39

Screen free blissCurio has been a game-changer for me, giving me the chance to keep up with the world and learn something new almost every day. I listen all the time on my commute, when doing the washing up or even in the car. It’s really refreshing not only to have the very best journalism curated for me, but also to have it read to me by actual human beings, rather than AI. The presentation is fantastic, the narration is professional and very slick and the whole experience just makes it easy to find something new and fascinating each time I come back..Version: 7.25.1

Nice to have things in one placeAlthough I have subscriptions to some of the publications in the curio app already, I enjoyed the way that I can listen to them in a more selective way and in a single app, compared to switching between apps during my driving.Version: 8.8.1

The best app I’ve ever hadI can honestly say this app is life changing- I love reading the paper but literally can’t find the time. I listen to it on my various commutes and as I fall asleep. Have learned so much fascinating stuff about all different topics. My friends I’ve introduced to it are also obsessed. Thank you for making this app- it’s incredible!!!.Version: 2.3.7

Can you pls redesign the interface……so I can remove sections I neither want nor use? I’ve never listened to your shows and want to delete them from my interface, but I cannot. I also don’t like how stories disappear from view when I finish listening to them. Why can’t it just fade or be marked “Play” like Audm? Thanks..Version: 7.3.0

HWW1012This app gets me through my commutes everyday. Before I know it, my 30 minutes are up, and I'm left wanting to drive more to hear the end of these perfectly narrated stories!.Version: 4.5.3

Better with PocketWhile this is a good app, it wants you to subscribe and not all publications are available unless you add to your subscription. But pocket does this without any subscription. Just add a story or article to pocket and when you want it to pocket will read it back to you. By the way I don’t work for pocket and am not receiving anything for endorsing pocket. It just genuinely is a better app for this same thing..Version: 4.0.0

Won’t let me cancelReally disappointed to find that I couldn’t cancel during my 7 day free trial, despite attempting to do so what I thought was more than 24 hours before. It asked me why I wanted to cancel once and then it took me either to “iTunes subscription” or back to the main account page depending on which device I used. It showed no confirmation that this had worked. Since then, I have tried again to cancel the subscription only so I don’t need to worry in a years time and it continues to show that I am on a yearly subscription. Nor can I manage any kind of payment information. I would have been less bothered if I had now had clear confirmation that it had been cancelled as I would have been led to believe I didn’t cancel in time during the free trial, however the fact I cannot manage my subscription now concerns me. iTunes says I don’t have an active (or expired) subscription and so I am at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed from here. I have contacted the email address but am waiting for a response..Version: 5.0.7

Great selection of publishers and articles all in one appI really value the easy access to knowledge that Curio offers, as well as the varied sources of journalism. Curio has a resourceful collection of audio articles and publishers, as well as curated shows with special hosts and guests. Being able to listen to publishers such as New Lines, which are less West-centric, is a massive plus to me. Curio also just added articles from the Atlantic and I've really enjoyed listening to their insightful pieces. I highly recommend Curio as a personal learning tool and an alternative to podcasts..Version: 7.25.0

Best appIf you’re looking for a personalized experience, with beautifully curated content - this app is for you..Version: 6.16.0

Great valueI started Curio last year and have enjoyed using the app, having a wide range of publications is very alluring. As well as few of the narrators, my only quarrel is that sometimes. The stream will stop when, I come out of the app apart from that small technical issue exceptionally good !!.Version: 6.16.0

Why have I only just discovered this gem!?Insta advertised this to me and absolutely nailed it. I signed up for a trial week but after my first listen I knew I’d be signing up for the year. You get access to audio stories from a range of fantastic publications. I used to subscribe to the economist chiefly for their audio content (they read all of their stories which I love) but it was so expensive and I didn’t want to pay so much for just ONE source of content. This is the answer! I can get stories from so many sources I love at a really reasonable price point. I also love the variety of topics, (tech, design, current affairs...) and length. From 5 min stories during a coffee break to a 35 min playlist for a morning run, this is now the soundtrack to my life. I can rarely be bothered to leave reviews on apps but I couldn’t wait to do it this time! Love it, thank you Curio!.Version: 5.2.2

Quality ‘me time’Superb app and outstanding content, transforms all the tedious moments in my day into something intellectually and culturally rewarding. The curation in particular is fantastic, everyday I feel I have made space for personal and professional growth - without making the time! Can’t recommended Curio enough.Version: 3.0.2

5 stars but I have a suggestionI love this app, it’s a great for a daily dose of interesting information. It’s simple and easy to use. I just wish there was an easier way to look up specific things/topics you’re interested in..Version: 4.3.3

I love itI love reading. Whenever I have a bit of free time ,I like to read news from The Guardian but I think I would save much time if I could hear the news but still get the job done. Only curio can help me do that. What an amazing app.Version: 3.8.39

By far my favourite app for curated contentExcellent selection of articles, really well read by actors. I love using curio on my weekends, in the evenings, on my commute. The material is super interesting and grouped by themes which makes it easy to find what I like. I read widely, including some of the titles the curio pieces come from, and still the curio articles are the ones I think the most about afterwards and discuss the most with friends. A real treat..Version: 3.6.1.

For those times you want to think and learnThe app has top quality pieces from a range of leading publications without having to subscribe to each. Curio isn’t background noise, it is great for those times you want to think or understand about the world..Version: 4.8.9

I have been a member since beta. I will probably never unsubscribe. There are times when I am bored or doing something that leaves me wanting additional mental stimulation, and Curio is always there for me. It is great for falling asleep, too. The best part about Curio is that it is always a learning experience. The articles may not always be entertaining or accessible, but they are almost always profound, with new ideas to chew on. The excellent voice actors (except maybe a few) really bring the articles to life and immerse you in the story. I do wish that they hired their voice actors more diversely though. The app UX has improved dramatically in the past year or so, and I hope they keep making improvements—the interactions work well and are ok, but definitely not on par with major streaming apps..Version: 4.8.10

What to expect on the App...It’s beneficial for anyone interested in expanding their horizons to invest in App like this one in question. You will be put in a trance, which in return learn new matters from many different discourse, and through enjoyable fashion. Learning doesn’t have to be boredom, or a remedial task at hand. Limitless potential here on this App for all education levels. You come to listen to articles, yet a impetus for a appetite to reach the stars in knowledge appears. I adore the psychology portions in the beginning primarily, then I got drawn to totally out my spectrums categories like art, history, and feminist articles. It’s like a Pandora box of massive enlightenment potential ready for the mortal to grasp, and attain absolute wisdom. Stay thirsty my friends, this App will quench your thirst!.Version: 3.0.2

AMAZING workThis app is really great to get basic info about a specific article when you don't have much time to go through it all..Version: 3.8.39

Makes it easier to stay well readMy eternal struggle to balance staying well read is an ongoing journey... podcasts are good but it's hit & miss, then Blinkist but 15 mins on a book is not deep enough, I sometimes buy a newspaper but the quality is variable and the time investment high. Anyway, tried Curio for a week after being incessantly targeted on insta and I am loving it. Basically they select top articles from a range of publications and read them out. It gives you a variety of writing styles, subjects and political balance. It's not just the news but slower journalism too. I'd recommend it. Sex, money, mental health, war, peace, plants, gender identity etc. For example I enjoyed an article today on desire. Def worth the trial and just signed up for a subscription.Version: 6.20.0

A MUST-HAVE app for podcast lovers!I don’t know about you, but I listen to A LOT of podcasts. But sometimes I get stuck trying to find something that sounds interesting or that just happens to appeal to me at that precise moment. Enter Curio. The answer to your podcast problems. Every single damned article is interesting. Pick one and let Curio do the rest. Enter all day listening with no breaks needed to find your next podcast fix. Will be recommending to my friends who are now working from home!.Version: 4.8.12

Stable appHuge collection. App starts fast. Great quality audio.Version: 6.2.14

A joy. Wonderful.Has always been unique and great, but with each update the app keeps getting better and the content range expands. If you like podcasts, or reading, you’ll like Curio..Version: 3.8.2

Smooth functioningThis is my favorite reader/news app so far without annoying ads .Please keep it this way. And hats off to the developer... My goodness!. Thank you for creating a simple/awesome app with so many free features. Respect..Version: 3.8.39

Excellent appReally great source of interesting news, read by calming voices. Highly recommend..Version: 5.2.2

Superb appI have a hard time forcing myself to sit down and read but have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Curio is the solution- keeping me up to date while I am traveling, going to work, or just laying in bed. Glad it exists and am looking forward to its expansion and growth!.Version: 4.6.9

Excellent & Refreshing!Curio is as fitting a curated set of brain food for the curious human condition within me. Highly satisfied. Highly impressed. Better than Flipboard, IMO..Version: 6.2.3

The only audio subscription you needI absolutely love this app. I listen to their articles every day, and I now could not live without it. They curate the best articles from my favorite newspapers and magazines, and they’re always recommending exactly the type of stories that I’d want to hear next without having to waste time searching. I’m a huge podcast lover, but I find myself turning to Curio instead of the others because their tracks have higher quality content without the unnecessary chitchat or advertisements. It helps me go deeper than the news (or just escape it, if I’m feeling news-ed out), and it fits into my day perfectly..Version: 4.8.12

Initial thoughtsI find this free app easy to use and so far the content on offer is very interesting. Not sure how the intelligence of the system works yet but let’s see. I think I may go on to purchase the full year. Great idea for travellers so long as background noise is minimised-I don’t know your news when the cycling example. No suggestions to improve yet but this is half an hour into the app!.Version: 4.5.3

New colorThis is excellent app. However, I genuinely dislike the new icon color. Old one was much better. Edit: I think I’m getting used to the new color :).Version: 6.0.1

Want Long form JournalismNot interested in having short fluff articles read to me. Dear Curio Designers, Is it remotely possible to develop a category focused on serious long form journalism? Looking thru the current /categories takes too much time and proves frustrating because most offerings don’t fit... perhaps a category called ‘long form journalism? Thank you, -Dan /////////////////////// Dear Curio Designers, I was caught off-guard by your responsiveness. Of limited budget yet let my NYT subscription lapse... to witness your evolution. Happy 4th of July... Bang! Yours, in support of a ‘Long Form Journalism’ Option- Dan.Version: 4.1.4

Excellent appAwesome, well designed app, but the CarPlay version crashes whenever I click on downloads. Hopefully y’all can fix this..Version: 6.16.0

Great app, needs more contentReally cool concept. May not be everyone's cup of tea but I found this to be helpful in getting up to date on more interesting and different content. The team must be working on this already but one suggestion would be to expand content and bring on more news publishers. Nice work!.Version: 5.0.3

Such an amazing appI wish the price was cheaper all the time but this app got the job done without wasting much time to read and I don't have much time left for doing my things.Version: 3.8.39

Fantastic way to grow your knowledgeAn absolutely brilliant app - I have learned so much. I love to listen while commuting or cooking or tidying up. I really enjoy simply pressing play and seeing what comes up! I listen on topics I might never have chosen to read. I recommend the app to everyone..Version: 3.8.39

LegitI’ve used it for about a year now, and it’s great. All their articles are narrated by professional readers. They have articles from various news sites. If anything, they need to add more daily articles..Version: 4.8.13

Great service!Wasn’t sure at first re ‘curating my content for me’, especially not having loads of time to front for new content reviewing (though ironically this is exactly what this app offers).. but very soon found that it does deliver on its promise!.Version: 3.8.28

Brilliantly Produced Service let down by Poor AppThis is a BRILLIANT service. Nothing but piles of MUST HAVE articles curated from valued sources and voiced by skilled voiceover artists. What's not to like!!! ...the App. Using the app is an unpleasant experience which feels like it's a quick port from the iPhone. Huge stretched lines across the screen with info spaced at either end. 'Buttons' hang (I'm on a new iPad Pro) and little or nothing is intuitive, such as deleting or storing what you've already heard. When the iPad app becomes something other than an afterthought, I will resubscribe and give it five stars (which I'm looking forward to as the service is great!)..Version: 4.0.10

Way better than its competitorI work in real estate so I am always on the go. I need an application to hear news conveniently and Curio is exactly what I'm looking for.Version: 3.8.39

Good, but NarrowHaving used the application for a few months, I can say it is somewhat slanted. A limited political spectrum gets picked. Of course, not everything is political in this application, hence review is not lower. I suspect the editors of the application are politically homogeneous. Many of the takes included in the spectrum are only from one side of the political aisle. It could be that they are catering to the audience. Personally, I would prefer a wider exposure to different publications..Version: 6.17.0

Indeed helpfulThank you for making such a reliable app for listening news on the go. It's also a really good way to pass the time if you have much time left to wait for someone.Version: 3.8.39

4.5 Stars - The Titles Aren’t ReadJust signed up and am loving this app except for one thing: the readers never read the titles of the articles(!). There’s an intro to each article, but surprisingly enough no mention of the article’s title. It’s like jumping into bed with someone without first getting their name. The title is indeed in the app itself or on my device, but I use the playlist/auto play function and can’t be bothered to look at my phone or iPad to find the new title every time an article changes, especially when driving or on my bike or walking the dog. Skipping the titles of songs would be fine, but not the title of written works/articles. Please read the titles of the articles and I will give 5 stars! Until then, I will try to get past having this huge chunk of context missing. I’ll try to remember the title of this app when recommending it. ;).Version: 5.0.25

Content is good, app is improvingThe content & narration is good although I'd like to hear more variety of accent. (I'd also personally like more science content but that's just me.) As a recent subscriber I was seriously thinking about giving up because the previous version of the app was buggy and confusing. The new version is much, much better which is really encouraging. The current version lets you turn autoplay off: thank you! If you want what it does, Curio is well worth it I think..Version: 6.5.0

User friendlyI am surprisingly satisfied with this app. The app makes it easy to find topics that you are interested in. I like that I can build an library to my liking and go back in to listen to it again. This app will definitely keep the curious mind informed of new discoveries, current events, and new topics from IT to psychology to history and much more..Version: 4.9.1

Hands down the best news app you'll findNo one has time to find, collate, read the best of contemporary journalism. Not only do they do that for you, people with nice voices then read them to you so you can listen on your morning commute! By the time you get to work you'll be at least 10% cleverer. The selection and range of topics and type of content is absolutely spot on. Favourite app I've found in a very long time. Thank you Curio!.Version: 4.4.5

Excellent app-can we have CarPlay support?I’m really enjoying the app and will definitely continue my subscription after the free trial. Many of your users will, like me, be listening in their cars. I would really appreciate full CarPlay support to make it as easy to use as my podcast app. Can this be put on your to-do list? 25 October 2021 Since the latest update the app is pausing playback when the phone screen locks. Makes it impossible to use on walks. Can this be fixed urgently please?.Version: 6.2.16

Good stuff!Loving this app, using it everyday while driving around for work! Gets me through and it definitely beats listening to the boring radio all day! Highly recommended 🙌.Version: 7.25.0

A multitude of fascinating, very informative published articles.Excellent important articles/information written by first class brainy writers, and read aloud by particularly well spoken/talented English accented readers. I enjoy Curio, while trying to “read along” is not easy especially for non nerds. Therefore, don’t be shocked by how difficult/ complicated it is to control and read along.Version: 4.8.2

Moof is backGday it’s ya boi moof.Version: 3.8.16

Figured out how to speed it upI initially rated this low because the pace was so slow and I didn’t see a way to speed it up, but support contacted me several times to let me know how to speed it up so I am updating the review..Version: 4.7.2
