Lifecraft: Your Life Coach for Negative User Reviews

Doesn’t sync with my MacBookWhat the title says. I find this quite annoying, since I’ve been using Lifecraft on my MacBook since early last month. I don’t want to do my journal entries on my iPhone and have to manually copy them to my MacBook, which I use a lot more..Version: 1.0.7

Keeps shutting downI really like the layout of this app, it is clean and has all the elements I wanted. The issue is however it keeps shutting down in the journal section..Version: 2.1.3

A work in progressThe app looks good, but it lacks some basic refinement that I would expect from a subscription based tool..Version: 1.0.2

Locking Privacy behind a Pay-Wall???This app is pretty great for a freemium. I really like how you are able to add photos to your entries, and choose and emotion out of the emotion bar. However, anyone can just take your phone and read what you write. Behind a paywall is the only way I can lock my writings..Version: 1.1.1

Good news and bad newsThis app is just what I was looking for. I wanted a daily guided journaling application with the ability to create easily-separable folders for different types of journals. Lifecraft doesn’t have this feature exactly, but the tagging and template options are a great alternative. The compass feature’s interactive messaging-style interface is fun and visually appealing. I love being able to track my moods alongside my entires (although I wish I could log more than one emotion at a time). I was so enamored with the app that I sprung for the pro version. (I also seem to remember a pop-up ad that simply would not allow me to exit and return to the app...) Since then, the compass feature has not worked at all. I haven’t been receiving notifications, and I cannot get Zee to interact with me! This was my favorite part of the app, as it keeps the journaling process gameified. I’m not sure what the use of extra features would be to me if I can’t use the major one. Is it normal to stop getting compass prompts after subscribing to the pro version. I updated my app, then deleted and redownloaded with no change.Version: 2.5.2

Beautiful design and idea but unreliableThe concept of this app is fantastic. UI is pretty but functional. Navigation is easy and well laid out. However, the Pro Version extras you are supposed to get are unreliable at best. You are supposed to get these life coach type writing prompts every weekday called Compass in the app. Out of 15 days that I was supposed to get these prompts it only appeared 7 times. Help desk reply about the problem was timely but unhelpful and did not resolve the problem. I’m deleting the app but I’ll check again in 6 month or so to see if they have pulled it together. Cause if they do this will be a breakout, stellar app..Version: 2.1.3

Nothing works :/I can’t seem to get anything to work. I don’t get the Compass messages — ever. When I tap “discover” under challenges, all it does is spin and say “loading”, even with the subscription. Nothing ever loads. The only thing I can use this app for is for journaling and for tracking my emotions, which you can do for free and with better, and different, apps. All in all, I am going to use it for the seven day free trial and then cancel the subscription. Even though it’s only $1 and some change a month, it’s not even worth it. Don’t waste your time or money..Version: 2.4.0

Needs updatedI loved this app until the compass and challenge features were added. Neither of them work and I have the latest version of the app. I have contacted support and they just say to make sure you have the latest version. The last update did not fix the problem. I use this app every day and it’s frustrating when parts of it don’t work. I have been doing the challenges for almost 2 weeks now and it still shows no progress. My compass messages do not show up when I open the app but I get 3 separate notifications to read my ‘invisible’ message. I wish they would fix these features or get rid of them. Outside of the parts that don’t work, this is a great app and it’s really useful..Version: 2.0.5

Really disappointing conductI was so excited for this product. Little did I realise that ALL the features touted in the description are in the paid version only. Yes, the description refers to the paid version down the bottom, but at no point does it say that none of the promoted features are available for free. That's really disappointing. I've deleted this app, as it's essentially just a plain old ejournal..Version: 1.0.3

Good start, but needs improvement.I like this app, and has many interesting features. The problem is the cost. Having a monthly or yearly subscription to access the better features isn’t worth it. I’d consider the cost if it was more of 1/3 what it is now. Also, there’s sync issues. But I like the layout and the design of it..Version: 1.1.1

No UpdatesI have both the iOS and Mac apps and neither have been updated in 8 months which predates my subscription. Developers who have switched to the subscription model should be updating their app on a regular basis, fixing bugs, adding features etc. I cannot recommend this app and have already switched journaling apps to one that seems to be getting updated on a regular basis with a developer that is active on social media and answers question and takes features suggestion..Version: 3.1.2

Good concept, needs improvementI really like the concept of having a journal and mood tracker in one. I do both avidly and have been using two separate apps for some time. I also like that there are journal prompts and timers. This app has potential. However, for this to be a paid app (you must get a subscription if you want the top tier features) it leaves much to be desired. First, it’s a bit glitchy and does not operate as seamlessly as I would like. The “Compass” section has not worked for me at all since installing the app despite me getting notifications to check the app. I like the idea of having challenges, but there are only two available. One for physical activity which I’m not interested in and another one for journaling which doesn’t seem to be of benefit to someone who already avidly journals. I am hopeful that this app will continue to improve with time. Oh, I would also like the different journals or notebooks to be color coded..Version: 2.0.5

No Export and No Throwbacks FeatureI thought this was a replacement for Day One because it has more reasonable pricing. But, I was wrong. Although I enjoyed the multiple journals (very important for proper arrangement) but as months continue, I got tired of waiting with features I’ve suggested. First, I notice that, unlike other Journaling apps, they’re much complacent with updates and features. Also, I got tired of waiting for the Throwback (or other names that one could invent) feature. Moreover, when I decided to leave the app and change apps, there was no EXPORT function. So I felt imprisoned and they didn’t give any options for way out. What’s worse, I literally needed to copy and paste everything to my new Journaling app. Well I hope they improve all this concerns..Version: 1.1.1

Was amazing, now ruined...I initially gave this app a five star rating but now I have to drop it two since the recent updates. It was an amazing app for adding emotions to your journaling, but now with the added features that do not work after three updates, it is cluttered and has too much going on and half the time syncing doesn’t work now (or it takes forever). This is no longer an simple, effective way to journal my moods. It’s more frustrating that it needs to be. I will be switching back to Day One and a separate mood tracking app..Version: 2.0.6

Challenges component doesn’t offer muchThis app has 4 components: Journal: The journal is simple and easy to use. You can customize the font. Entries are easy to add. You can make little drawings within the app and add photos to entries. You can link emotions with journal entries which is very nice. Emotions: I love the interface of the emotions component. It is easy to use. You can set time frames for emotions. This is useful for monitoring and self reflection. Compass: This is a daily “lesson” to guide your thinking and provides an 8 minute daily journal prompt. I enjoy this because it gives me a quick way to journal daily. Challenge: This component is almost nonexistent. There are only 5 challenges. It seems fairly useless. Considering this is 1/4 of the “program” it really kills the value/effectiveness of the process. You can track your progress in these four areas on the Dashboard. Overall, I was really excited about Lifecraft until I found out that “challenges” doesn’t offer much of anything. It seems useless. I had signed up for a year subscription but canceled when I discovered the serious limitations of the Challenges component. Lifecraft pIease develop a more robust “Challenges” category so I can change my review to 5 stars..Version: 3.0.4

Good app, but...The Compass and Challenges features are still not working for me. I have no idea what Compass is supposed to do since it is always completely blank, and the Challenges feature has showed no progress even though I’ve been doing it for two weeks. I love the writing prompts and the emotions check ins, but I will probably cancel my subscription to Pro after this month unless the other issues are resolved..Version: 2.0.5

Nice features but not worth it long termApp is nice and I really like the features. I was about to buy it until I saw the subscription model. You want to continue your revenue stream? Sell upgrades to better versions. Forcing people to pay yearly won’t work for smart people. What’s to stop your company from sitting back and doing nothing for the next several years? No thanks. I’ll spend my money elsewhere..Version: 1.1.1

Nice but they changed the free featuresI’ve been using the app for a few years. I don’t need much from a journaling app so I didn’t subscribe to the premium features. I just write my entries and log my emotions for that day… until they changed the model. Now I have to pay $4.99/month to log my emotions and see them attach a color to my entry. Was it really necessary to make this a paid feature? At this point, I can just use any note taking app on my phone..Version: 3.1.1
