SSH Tunnel - with SOCKS5 proxy for Positive User Reviews

Amazing tunnelling appI am happy to see that took in AppStore. Very useful. The only negative moment is the you cannot put it in Shadow/background mode and the reason for that is not clearly explained by DEVs. Was it an Apple constraint? Why?.Version: 2.1.0

Only real usable tunneling app for iOSI’ve tried others, but with iOS 14 blocking background tasks, they’re unusable. This app would be much better if one could use Safari for the tunnel without needing to run both in split view, but the developer’s addition of a built-in browser makes this only a minor grievance and is a good workaround for Apple’s restrictions. Only requests: allow for multiple simultaneous tunnels at once and an option to have tabs in the built-in browser..Version: 2.1.0

Very useful, despite occasionally crashing / hangingVery useful, despite occasionally crashing / hanging. In particular the ability to serve its own pac file to configure the Socks proxy on the iPhone is great..Version: 1.5.0

Works greatTop line is: This app lets you ssh to a server that you control and have your iOS device publish a SOCKS5 proxy. You can then use the proxy from the device, or any other device connected to the same hotspot or WiFi network. Minor niggles: - It lacks some UI polish - The proxy PAC should have smarter defaults, currently you must edit it manually - it can’t run in the background, but this is an iOS limitation, so not the app’s fault.Version: 2.0.2

HelpIs it possible to link this with my 911S5 account so I can use the vpn ? I need help connecting the SSH THING so i can Use it as vpn.Version: 2.1.0

At last !Been waiting for this for years ! Simple and works great !.Version: 1.1.0

Needs update for iOS 16!!Dear developer; Please update this app for iOS 16, otherwise we can not use it on iPhone with iOS 16. I would like to use it in iPhone, to totally send all traffic through ssh tunnel. But this is not possible now. Hope you update the app, and resolve problems in iOS 16. Best regards..Version: 2.1.0

Works greatSeems to be the only SSH tunnelling app on the store, thankfully it's a good one!.Version: 1.1.0

A great app is now even better! When I got this app a while back, it was good, but I was not able to enter an arbitrary url after connecting. The workaround was to open the browser of choice and then launch the app on top / to the side (this is still good for testing different mobile browsers). Now I can enter the URL I need to the built-in browser and use it full screen. The only possible improvement would be for Apple to allow this to run in the background without disconnecting..Version: 2.1.0

Using this app to have a list SSH. Great !Works for me. From China, using app specific proxy and DNS proxy..Version: 0.0.5

Yeah, Works Well EnoughDoes the job and had the feature I needed, namely, binding the proxy interface without the local host. But, ultimately, SOCKS just isn't good at capturing all traffic generated on this or other hosts, and the background restrictions make it difficult to use for all but the simplest uses, so I think you'll want to implement a VPN interface to capture traffic and route at least TCP via SOCKS, in the fashion of tun2socks. Better yet if it could both tunnel traffic and offer a proxy for use, which would allow you to use any existing VPN connections on the device. I know not all of this is really your fault, but you have to work within these limitations ....Version: 2.1.0

Great app, works wellI love everything about it to the pac script for dynamic web tunnel and such. I just have one complaint. Can we make 127.0.0.13389 have the port separated with a colon on the local side? Line 127.0.0.1:3389, eliminates any confusion..Version: 1.5.0

Great appThis is simply the best tool for surfing inside a corporate network for IPhone. Can't believe it's even ads-free & proprietary-free..Version: 0.0.5

Does exactly what I was expectingDoes the job very well if you know what you are doing and what you are looking for..Version: 2.0.2

Does what it saysWorks really well. I would love some integration with Shortcuts - I’d pay for that via IAP!.Version: 1.7.5

Thank Goodness for this AppJust what I needed to get the job done. Get it now before Apple decides it is too useful! [Edit] this app saved me a drive into the office today, yet again it has proven its worth..Version: 2.1.0

Revised reviewThanks to the developer for the interest in replying. The reason for the changes in the upgrade make much more sense now. This is truly one of my all time favorite apps and I’ve revised my rating to reflect that. Original review: Used to work more smoothly, now frequently struggles to connect and/or stay connected. Also suddenly starts asking me to set location services to always on. Ummm...no. Also why all of a sudden?? Sketch, bruh.Version: 1.7.5

This is exactly what I've been looking for...UPDATE 8/23/17 (part 2): 5 starts, both for functionality and developer responsiveness Developer got back to me super quick and pointed me at the 'Local bind port' setting. Setting that explicitly makes the PAC name consistent and you can leave you PAC URL in setting alone. Works absolutely great! Yes, other time this can use some documentation updates etc, but it does EXACTLY what it needs to now. UPDATE 8/23/17: Added another star to the rating and bought to unlimited connection upgrade. I now got it to work and there's only one remaining niggle preventing easy use of the SOCKS5 proxy. It works but takes a bit more taps than I'd like. I contacted the dev via the new support form to share my ideas. Very excited about this! Just got NoMachine to work through it! Original review: I need an app that allows me to ssh into work and run a SOCKS5 proxy so I can use a local browser on my iPad. It may very well work but my guesses as to the setup were apparently wrong... It fails to connect via the private key I supplied. The verbose output does not actually indicate the problem, though. Will have another look. The other issue is that there is currently no documentation at all. Really hoping all this gets ironed out because I desperately need this functionality (and am willing to pay for it, too).Version: 1.1.0

The best dynamic forwarding app for IOSWorks as advertised. This is the only app I’ve found so far that supports dynamic forwarding. Thank you! However, there’re some glitches like ports not being freed up after the proxy is terminated. I have to wait for like 5-10 minutes before I can run the proxy on the same port again. It’d great if you can fix that in the next version. Anyway, great app!.Version: 1.5.0

PerfectExcellent app. Easy to setup. Does exactly what I need. Thank you for making it..Version: 1.5.0

Hard to believe what’s possible on iOS these daysGreat utility that works exactly as it promises. No frills, just an iOS version of what you’d be handling on the command line elsewhere. Plenty of ways to improve (UI, prompts, warnings) but a very stable app first and foremost. So I am happy to keep using while (if) the developer decides to put those features in..Version: 1.7.5

Great app and SOCKS proxy worksWorks as expected. Using dynamic (SOCKS) forwarding allows access through firewall and proxy autoconfig URL automatically configures iOS and doesn’t require reconfiguring iOS connection settings betweeen enabling and disabling tunnel..Version: 1.5.0

Ssh tunnel expirenceWorks as expected and required. Supports ipv6 addressing even if my VNC service does not....This is a great app!.Version: 1.5.0

ExcellentThis app is incredible. My work requires an annoying daisy-chaining of tunnels to access my desktop PC’s RDP, but this handles them all just fine. I can use Microsoft’s iOS RDP client with ease by connecting to the tunneled port. I love it. Thank you!.Version: 1.5.0

Great App until IOS 13I paid for this application and it worked well for a few months but now it is broken and cannot maintain the connection while in the background. I suggest suspending the sale of this application until you can work with Apple on a real fix..Version: 2.0.2
