✓ Disappointing setup experience at bestThe app gets stuck on a “Sync Categories” screen during initial setup. My kid, who was super excited during unboxing, lost patience after 15 mins of troubleshooting and then lost interest in this toy. I still haven’t been able to get past the setup. Disappointed that the PlayShifu team pushed out an app with such a poor setup experience..Version: 2.77
✓ No camera focusI can’t get passed the first step because the app won’t pick up on the Statue of Liberty, even when it’s perfectly aligned. There are not any buttons available to bypass the issue. I have a brand new iPhone, so I know the technology is not the issue. I was really excited to use this with my nieces and they love the globe. It is a cool setup. It’s a shame the app doesn’t work the way it was intended. We are all disappointed..Version: 6
✓ Uses wrong cameraOn iPhone 14 Pro, the game tries to use the wide angle camera, which cannot focus close enough to get the AR hotspots to trigger. Cannot find any place in the app to configure it to use the correct camera, making it essentially unusable..Version: 2.78
✓ Why Iran or Persia is absentThis is a good tool and a lot of fun for kids to learn about different countries. How come Iran is absent ? Persian civilization is one of the biggest civilization in human history with lots of savants and inventions. How come the country is absent from your globe. How can you ignore a civilization and a country like this ? I was curious... You don’t emphasize enough on the name of the countries with this toy..Version: 1.21
✓ Christmas Day failMy little boy was so excited for this but the app is apparently uninterested in happiness. I get to the sync screen and I’m unable to select or sync. The buttons are acting like they’re not actually set. Before I get old iPad or networking advice, it’s a new iPad, it’s updated, my wifi is ridiculously fast and there’s plenty of space. Settings all look correct. So….. followed the links to get to expert chat and, oh look at that I have to pay. WTH guys?.Version: 2.77

✓ Iphone 14 cannot focus the imageWhen I use an older iPad the app crashes even tough I have space, and when using an iPhone 14 the camera doesn’t focus and the globe cannot really be used. The concept is great, but I haven’t been able to try it..Version: 7
✓ App does not workApp does not work on my son’s 1 year old iPad nor will it work on my iPhone 14pro. It sits at the sync page and clicking “sync now” does nothing. I’ve force closed out the app multiple times on both devices, and restarted, to just come back to the same problem. ✓ Mixed FeelingsThis is fantastic with so much information and variety of activities/information. My issues are that you have to hold the camera perfectly still over a star or it will disappear. We also have issues with stars not pulling anything up when there’s plenty of light. Obviously gets frustrating for a 6 year old, it even frustrates me. Now, most disappointing of all, I click the app, it opens the spin the globe screen, then just closes out. I thought the app needed updated, but no, there’s nothing I can do to get this app to stay open on my iPhone 8+. I paid too much money for this globe to just be a hunk of plastic taking up space. The underlying usage is great, but glitches definitely need worked out and all is useless if the app won’t open..Version: 1.8

✓ Good idea but content is weak and sometimes inaccurateThe idea of this app and toy is amazing. Young learners point device at globe and learn. However, in my opinion the good is wiped out by the content. The content is poor and sometimes flat out wrong (ie blue whales don’t eat fish, dudes, and it’s called a Proboscis monkey not a probiscis monkey). Reads as if it was written by a English second language person and the facts are just weird and often not particularly relevant. The creators’ phony international accents are at minimum bad and at worst pretty offensive to people from those places. My suggestion to the creators: pay some professionals to do your content rather than doing it yourself. This includes the script and the accents..Version: 1.8

✓ No compatibilityIt’s one thing for people to dismiss complaints about this product not working with older iPads and it is an entirely different matter when those iPads are listed as being compatible with the product and then told for months that there is an issue with the app that is being worked on but then several updates later is no closer to being resolved. If I had purchased this assuming it would work with the iPad I had designated for my daughter and then found out they were not compatible it would be one thing, but I verified they were compatible before purchase and then have been stuck with the message that “You’re working on it,” indefinitely. If not compatible then don’t list it as compatible and then try to fix it after launch. Or at the very least, actually fix the issues before you develop the new features that continue not to be available for those other customers you screwed over..Version: 1.59
✓ Phone gets really hot, really fastI’m concerned that my phone (xs max) gets really hot fast. Within the first minute of launching the app, it gets so noticeable. It is the latest phone with the latest software but is this normal? Also, sometimes the graphic will fail to show up when we explore the globe (starfish especially). Is this a bug? Please include it on your next fix, thanks! And one sad part... I was planning on using my old iPad for my son on this exploration but sadly the app failed to launch on older ones. ✓ Orboot & GlobeThere is no sound in this , & I have tried to fix it by going to Settings and Set the control settings, yet no sound at all. What do I need to do fix it so my grandson can play & learn this game with sound? You have a bad bug in your software that needs to be fixed. I get sound when I play other games & movies. ✓ Orboot Fun, but Inaccurate.Well, once we freed up a ton of space, we dove right in, and it held our attention. However, within the first two mysteries already found two mistakes. In the Sea World where we had to find a dolphin, it told us we were looking at the Atlantic when we were in the Pacific. In the next mystery about a painting it asked us to find Greenland, calling it a country. Is it one mistake per mystery for the rest of the game?.Version: 1.54

✓ Works on 1 iPad but not the other…We got the globe, downloaded on two separate iPads for two kids. Both have the newest generation iPads. One gave us the option to give permission to use the camera, but the other doesn’t even give us the option to approve its use. How should we fix this? One of our kids can’t even properly play now. ✓ If I could give a zero I wouldEasy installation is not so easy. Downloaded the app, pointed the compatible iPad (with an enormous amount of available storage) and all my daughter has is a blank screen. Yes it’s Christmas, so service may be hard to achieve, but try explaining why something doesn’t work to a child that has autism. Don’t even get me started on the so called parent app...it can’t find either of my email addresses to create a new account. Sad this is the gift she wants to explore more than any other right now. ✓ Not kid friendlyMy biggest complaint about this globe and app is that a parent has to operate the device because nothing about this app and globe is kid friendly. It requires exact precision and a very steady hand to focus on the areas of the globe the child wants to learn about. I struggle with it as an adult using either my iPhone or iPad, but it is impossible for my 6 year old to operate. Great concept, but Orboot should have its own device that kids can easily operate instead of having to use their parents devices that don’t work that great..Version: 1.70
✓ Great idea, poor performanceEdit: I got the response that once you set it up, you don’t need wifi. That’s a lie. It WILL not work on AR unless you’re connected to the internet. Believe me, I’ve tried. Original review: My child got the globe as a gift and unfortunately, you HAVE to use the app. The camera on multiple devices looks blurry when the camera usually isn’t. On the iPhone, I can’t turn on the sound. On my kindle fire, the camera works once on the app and then IT KILLED MY CAMERA COMPLETELY! Now the camera on two kindle fires won’t work when it did previously to downloading the app. Lastly, the website and advertisements show that you don’t need the internet or wifi for it to work when in fact, you do. ✓ Absolute Waste of Time! Does not workObviously these people have issues from the server side and connectivity. This always comes down to bad and cheap programming or privacy issues getting your domain blocked. Either one are a big issues with the app getting them banned on servers. There’s nothing like going through all of the steps including calling their support number only to have them tell you to “connect to another WiFi” ok,does not work. let’s try to “hotspot” no that does not work. Let’s try airplane mode. No that does not work. Finally simply telling me they have no othe r options but to write an email to support. But, wait I’m talking to support so what will change when you get an email? Nothing. That’s what: these people need to get their quality together. My guess is they are going to see hundreds if not thousands of these things returned after the holidays. And it’s well deserved..Version: 2.77
✓ Not for a deep dive...In a time where National Geographic or Discover Channel, or heck even a moderately competent adult with a phone can help a child explore the world, I had hoped this would go beyond the surface of trite, well known information about places and animals. For instance, I thought seeing multiple sea turtles on the globe would mean the app would explore the different species or talk about their migration patterns... but nope, just the same information across multiple continents... and to make it worse they even played into the “surfer dude” stereotype when they give a “voice” to the sea turtle... ✓ App not working rightWe bought this for our 4 year old and thought it was a great product. We were right, it was great, awesome even, until it wasn’t. The volume won’t work anymore. It did for 2 days then it didn’t. I even got mad at my son telling him not to touch icons he is not supposed to touch icons other than what we told him. and he said he didn’t touch anything. ✓ Fun and entertaining for my 5yo but lots of room for improvementThe poo park balance ecosystem sometimes doesn’t work even when you do exactly what the hint suggests. When you learn about animals, the only quiz is “what does it eat?” The globe itself is so shiny and reflective that my brand new phone camera cannot detect the pictures/stars or light reflections. They need to make a matte finish globe. The globe continents are not to scale at all and I’d like to see country names on the globe..Version: 2.78
