✓ DisappointedJust got this Rc car. I was unable to connect using my iPhone 11 Pro max and my iPad. After the app generates the 2nd password, the prompt to enter the new password on the Batmobile wifi never comes up and all I get is an “unable to connect” message. I tried turning off cellular data and the WiFi “private address” tab… and nothing. I guess it’s going to be a display piece. If anyone figures it’s out, I’m all ears..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Excellent before iOS 13Bought the Batmobile early 2019, and was super-impressed with the vehicle and the app. HOWEVER on firing it up after the update to iOS13 have now discovered there’s no feed from the cockpit camera. Checked it with an iPad that still had iOS 12 installed, and yes that worked fine. Contacted Mattel who just basically wrote it off as an issue along the lines of ‘the app obviously doesn’t work on your country’. If they’ve now abandoned the app, well, it’s a massive shame as the product itself is amazing and deserves to be updated..Version: 1.0.8

✓ App out of dateAppeartly the app don't work and you must turn off your cell phone data to connect it which makes no sense. Forget about video it doesn't work. I have two of the batmobiles and both have same errors. I wish the app was open source so someone could update it. Better yet wish it came with its own controller. ✓ CameraThe camera worked great on my phone from the car however now it won’t turn on at all. The car still connects and drives but there is no camera. ✓ Piece of crapGot the batmobile for a great deal at Costco for $80. Brought it home, put it together, loaded the app and started her up. Car ran great, had a huge beefy engine roar but once I connected the app to its WiFi, the app crashed. Restarted the app and re-downloaded it too and couldn’t get the connection again. Tried all trouble shooting and video tutorials and nothing:( super disappointed. Taking this hunk of junk back to Costco as I type this. Getting a refund and using the money to get some Costco pizza. At least the pizza won’t let me down. Sorry bats, we could of had a great relationship.Version: 1.0.8
✓ App needs customer supportWe open the box a few days ago and it turns on but is useless due to the fact that software is incompatible with the phone software of today. My dads iPhone XR will link but has no camera view and will not move at all. My iPhone X will link, no camera view and is able to move the car. It makes no sense. The software has not been updated with the car and people have spent money on this to just now realize that there is no way for us to drive the batmobile. ✓ UPDATE APP FOR LATEST IOS!!!Despite some back and forth with customer service via email, not a single rep mentioned the need to turn off cellular data to make this work (although the camera remains useless at this point, as others have described). Further, after asking if an update is coming, I was told that they had no idea and that updates are just announced/put out there with no prior knowledge to other employees- kind of sounds like a broken system to me, as communication should be key, especially in a situation where so many customers are affected by something like this. This is why this should have come with a dedicated controller- I realize that they were going for the lure of fancy options potentially available via smartphones, but if the support for upgrading software vanished, it makes the product obsolete- not really fair when a customer is spending a premium price for something that should work out of the box. A solution suggested by one of the reps? To see if I had an old phone lying around and use that!?? We typically trade in our phones, and judging by other people’s experiences, it might be worse trying an old phone (crashing/freezing apps). Please dedicate updating the app regularly- it shouldn’t be that hard..Version: 1.0.8

✓ Cell issue resolved- camera still brokenMay 2020 Cellular on and still connected. But the camera on my iPhone and IPad doesn’t work. Gray screen. Please resolve. The machine is fun. Not super fast. Not super great in grass or climbing. Figure eights / 8s and regular play is fun. If we had the camera while driving, the experience would gain at least 1 star, maybe more. Camera issue has been know for a while, per previous reviews, and it sounds like the support desk didn’t help and didn’t get answers from the tech behind the machine.
