✓ AddictingFun to play and I love all the loot options! Definitely will dominate your day as you need to empty the vault every hour. I set up an alarm on repeat, to remind me. I actually like this game and it’s similarity to Rogue-sequel types. Random dungeons, skill trees. Wish the devs were still adding stuff to it...because I can’t find any money loot walls, other than the training scene. I think they forgot to add them!.Version: 1.27.3

✓ Great Game with unique elementsBeen playing for about a week, loving the game just wish I was to get some of the multiplayer dungeon raids going. Is there a discord server for the game where players could meet and talk about organizing raids? Overall in general the game has a lot to take on which keeps you busy deciding on how you wanted to play, tons of upgrades and abilities to mix and match for different strategies and plenty of loot. My favorite aspect is the unlocking and upgrading of the classes and other unique abilities like unlocking pets or the map system. Great boss battles with these nutters relentlessly chasing you through the dungeons; reckon that huge troll is not going to fit down that narrow corridor - think again! ✓ Bug reportI can’t buy the potions that give skill point, one or 10. I have thousands upon thousands of green gems I have saved since I’ve had this game for years, now I can’t do anything with them! I really don’t feel like grinding for a year or so FOR EACH CHARACTER to unlock everything, and the inability to buy potions looks like a bug anyway. Oh, and increasing price for respec potions until they’re unaffordable is a horrible design decision. That’s something even Diablo III knew to avoid. Besides, if there’s no cap you risk having an overflow error for people that play for years. I’ve been playing this since it was available on iPhone..Version: 1.34

✓ A Never Ending JoyrideDo you like ARPGs? Do you like Rogue Lites? Do you like depth? Do you like a challenge? Are you sick and effin’ tired of PTW and micro transactions to ‘get ahead’? Do you like to find your own play style and then build a character for that style? If you said yes to any more of those you are in for a treat, this little gem has replayability up the wahzoo, offers instantaneous gratification for that ‘itch’ to play something fun, (yet still challenging and thought provoking) and wraps it in a delightfully simple and easy to digest hack and slash format. ✓ Great game until it loses your characterI’ve been playing this game for almost a year. It’s a 5 star game with a few bugs and somewhat infrequent updates. Not a big deal except for when I get a character with awesome items and I’m plunging down levels. I’ll play this character for days. Until suddenly it just loses my saved game Seeing this several times on 1.34 on games days old. If I fail to play at least once a day it gives me the “load saved dungeon” option screen and loads a blank game. Yikes! Hope you can focus and fix this. ✓ Done right!Excellent rogue-like. Six available characters that all play completely different. You will die a lot but you earn skill points and gold, etc, which you keep. Lots of loot to gather and equip. Game saves (you can save at any time btw) to the cloud and can easily be transferred between devices and even the pc version. The iaps are not necessary in the ultimate edition but are available to get some convenience items if wanted. Game is still being actively worked on by the dev. This is arguably one of the best action rogue games available..Version: 1.25.1
✓ Easy 5 star gameAbout 3 years ago I grabbed the free version of Pocket Rogues, and enjoyed it. A lot. But the lack of characters made me want more. Enter Ultimate. 😀 Years later, I still play this at least once a week (I’d have to guess my overall average is once every 3 days), and with all the content and changes that have been done (go ahead, read through the update logs, it’ll only take you about 15-20 minutes 🤪), it feels a lot like a title from one of my favorite dev teams, Trese Brothers, as far as post-launch support goes, and I’ve got nothing but respect for that kind of developer, especially these days. I’d you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers or challenging action games with more than a handful of different characters you can get to know the ins and outs of, you’d be doing yourself a solid picking this up. If you need to know more before taking the plunge, there’s that nifty free version that got me hooked. 😃 As far as I’m concerned Pocket Rogues is a MUST OWN iOS title. 🍻🍻🍻 big thank you to the dev for sticking with this one! My ONLY complaint is that this new version seems to have an issue with IAP, unless it is by design. All gem prices are listed as “…..” and the app hangs/crashes upon trying to select anything in that screen. This is a minor quibble, and doesn’t detract from an otherwise fantastic little slice of rogue-like heaven. ;) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..Version: 1.34

✓ Random fun!Entertaining, challenging game. Better to call this rogue-rpg, as there is no permadeath, but with persistence to skills, capabilities, and bonuses. Good sound, fair-to-good graphics. Has that “one more floor” feel to it. Can see myself playing this one for a long while, and I’m usually critical about the rogue-likes I’ve played. The equipment you find could use some help. It’s bland (wooden helmet, wooden stick, rags, foreign cloak, ...). And you get them in the same general order each run. There’s some variety as you improve. ✓ Happily surprisedBought this because I enjoyed the free version and wanted to give back to the creators. Didn’t expect much of a change but it really does make a difference. Earning extra crystals means I can afford to occasionally buy gear to prep for a run. Was worried that might make the game too easy but it just helps you get back to the floors on your level faster. And saving, now I can do a floor on my coffee break without leaving the game up for the rest of the day draining my battery. I die and jump right back in there again. there is actually only one thing wrong with this game and that is that it is full of gold and jewel IAP that are not disclosed. Had I known that, I would not have bought it because I only do fully premium. I don’t like the gem purchases being consumable items, that’s just greedy. Why not make them more expensive and have it be something you can always enter the dungeon with at start after you buy it? Only obvious areas lacking are: * story line - pretty non-existent * despite strong replayability, it does get repetitive eventually once you’ve unlocked most areas. I still come back to it now and again though to grind that extra upgrade as it’s near impossible to top out a character class unless you invest ridiculous amounts of hours into it * RNG kill becomes very much of a thing the higher up the arena levels you manage to climb. ✓ Honest OpinionI've never wrote a review but this is a game I see myself playing long term, if youre into anime, dungeons and dragons or anything inbetween you'll probably like the game. It has endless levels and dungeons all with cool and op monsters. it gives you options to choose a class, level up certain things like endurance, agility, strength etc. as well as the specific powers/moves you choose. In game when youre in the dungeon you can find artifacts, potions, food, weapons, armor and so much more. ✓ AMAZING, but one bugI’ve been looking for a game like pocket rogues for a very long time, some kind of old dungeon game and this is just perfect! I even bought ultimate and I rarely spend money on games. Hopefully developers keep giving more content as that is how this game can really shine; more weapons, more enchantments, more places as well. More bows would be nice too! My only issue: when collecting coins and gems in the game it becomes unbelievably laggy and the framerate drops like crazy. It’s just that there is a bug that makes me randomly lose one equipped gear after blacksmith upgrading it, or WORSE, my whole equipped gear and inventory disappears when I save exit the game. ✓ Try balancingI like the game a ton, it may be grindy at first, but later on, it’s very fun. There are two little problems: the grinding in the early-game, and the abilities. The abilities are not quite balanced, e.g. the necromancer’s normal attacks being a projectile that does medium damage but when you upgrade it it turns into 3 projectiles. Or a slightly debuffing SINGLE projectile that does small damage. The choice is obvious. Then the early game grinding. Its a minor issue, as this is a mobile game, it should really be played in long car rides or something. Not a game you regularly play. (IMO) anyway sorry for the lengthy review, I hope this helps! ✓ RADThis game is a lot of fun, and has a ton of depth and nuance. It’s how I imagine a realized Action RPG version of Nethack would be, and there are some similarities in gameplay and game structure to Soul Knight (which a very good thing). Also, it’s a $1 for the base game?!? It’s well worth the price of admission, and then some. The only drawback is that it’s pretty addictive, and the levels kind of flow together, so it makes it harder for me to decide when to take a break. Is that a drawback? If you enjoy Action RPGs, or even kind of enjoy them then it’s definitely worth $1 to take this game out for a test drive..Version: 1.27.2

✓ Fun and enjoyablePlayed it free for about a month then decided to buy it and I haven’t regretted it at all. Gameplay is simple and easy to comprehend. Leveling system is great and characters are well made. I’ve been swimming in gold and gems that it isn’t an issue buying items if I want to Only complaint is that pets don’t maintain their level between the different classes. It’s really consuming to get a pet leveled up and I didn’t know it would carry to other classes while I was leveling my puppy. Possible improvement’s: Pets maintain levels over all classes Name pets (why not) Overall a solid 8/10.Version: 1.27.3
✓ Dev please readThis is an amazing game. It starts off very slow, and seems kind of flat. And you’re going to die, a lot. But after twenty or thirty deaths, you’ll start to unlock all the different classes, different features, and different dungeons that start to compound into an extremely deep gaming experience. I was totally caught off guard, so complements to the dev. But to the dev, PLEASE FIX IT SO THAT THE BERSERKER’S SECOND WEAPON IS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.
