You can’t do ANYTHING with this appI used to be able to at least add events to my calendar and posts to my blog via the iOS apps available through SquareSpace. Now they have this new app that literally does nothing... I can’t edit anything, I can’t add events, I can’t add photos to my gallery, I literally have to be at home on my computer to update my website in any capacity. I liked having 4 apps for SquareSpace before this was developed with the ability to DO SOMETHING as opposed to a single streamlined app that lets me do nothing to my website what so ever. Also, this has been a complaint of this app since it’s launch months ago and SquareSpace still has not addressed these issues. That’s a problem in itself. When you’re getting feedback about your product, do something about it, or be left in the dust by your competitors. Terrible app, fix SOON please..Version: 1.2.1

Worst for editing blog on mobilePlatform and product is great but trying to edit any pages or blog pages is terrible on the app. Many of the features are lacking and when trying to edit the app just crashes over and over, need to force close all the time. Step up your game Squarespace.Version: 2.22.0

Do you perform any kind of QA? Or just test in production?Absolute garbage as per usual for a Squarespace app. Do you do any kind of performance testing at all? The old commerce app ran like a bang of spanners when your order library grew, and now I get daily crashes on this app, iPhone and iPad when managing orders. Total junk. And the latest redesign? What idiot decided to do away with an actual quantity label on items with an order? It used to clearly say ‘Quantity: X’, that’s gone and now replaced with a number in a box and no context to let a user know what the box represents. And the way the awful UI lays it out it looks like the item number in the order. Total crap..Version: 1.83.0

Extremely clunkyHaving signed up and paid Squarespace today, I was relatively happy editing my new blog site on my Windows PC. However, when I downloaded the app onto my iPad this evening, it proved to be so slow and clunky that I have now removed it three times, and will not bother again. When you try to edit a page, it simply shows a blank page, states it is “editing” but you cannot see anything. Very disappointing..Version: 1.74.0

Worst App EverI regret purchasing a domain through Squarespace because editing the website is the most tedious and glitchy thing, especially on this useless app. None of the features or links work and its nearly impossible to make a good website with all of the stupid templates and pop ups in the way. 0/10 would not recommend Squarespace..Version: 2.11.1

EVIL company! They delete sites on purpose. They evilest website company I know. If they disagree with your political view, they will delete your entire website without warning. They deleted a doctor’s website simply for talking about Hydroxychloroquine. So wrong. They are pro-censorship. It’s not their place. How many hours of HCQ research did Squarespace do before hand? How many patients have they treated?.Version: 1.20.0

Takes for ever to correspond with the website.I will get an order notification in my email and it takes near an hour or more to show up in my app. I will get an order in the am that happened over night. I am notified my inventory is depleted in my email. I go to app to adjust inventory and it is still thinking on whether or not I have the current inventory or not. Let’s say I hade 5 of something. Someone bought all 5. It will have 5 highlighted in red. So I try to add 12 more skus. Then it asks if I want to confirm because their was an order. I say yes- then it says I have 17 in stock. It shouldn’t have an hours lag before it is updated. I need real time correspondence with the website. Their previous app that they discontinued was way better!! Oh and their discount tab is super delayed, too. I am super disappointed in this version update. Do better!!.Version: 1.59.0

OK, but not greatThis app is OK and it could be great. But right now it’s not. It’s missing a lot of features that the previous standalone apps had and it just makes it too hard to use. For example, there’s no offline preview of your galleries like you had with the Portfolio app. And even if this gets added, it’s not a good app to show your work like Portfolio was. An even bigger issue is that there’s no search for journals/blog, so if you need to edit a post from the past, you need to manually swipe to scroll endlessly until you find it. This was so easy with the Blog app. Overall, it’s a step backwards..Version: 1.2.1

Confused version of SquarespaceThis app feels like its been developed by entirely different team than the web version. The inconsistency is frustrating, almost like the app developer has never used any of the features on the web version and ignores crucial elements that give features the basic function..Version: 1.41.0

Mobile app isn’t itLove Squarespace and using the desktop site for edits to my website. The mobile app, however, is a dumpster fire when it comes to editing or adding new pages. Also, please don’t respond to this review suggesting I contact customer service because we all know that will accomplish nothing. Just fix your broken app..Version: 2.14.0

DisappointedIt’s been so difficult to edit or do anything on the app. What’s the point with having an app that doesn’t actually allow you to do anything or edit text etc? Not very user friendly when you’re trying to add a title and it doesn’t even show up and the settings for the header are minimal. I’ve quite disappointed so many people have recommended this to me to create my business website. This app is infuriating when I can’t even seem to click on something to edit it, or even properly adjust sections and photos, or even add photos that would make sense to my business. Please make this all work.Version: 2.24.1

It’s mostly fineI’m just so very tired of the glitchiness. I’m tired of having to jump between desktop and app because neither manages to accomplish all of what it should. I’m tired of having to force close the app because it froze yet again midway through editing. I don’t understand the reviews this site gets. Constantly adding frivolous features instead of making sure the current features actually work. The search bar on my website is hit or miss. I can search for a post and have it not come up at all, refresh, and there it is. And that’s if the website doesn’t freeze for having the audacity to use the search bar. I don’t need AI generated ads and Patreon knockoffs. I need my website to actually FUNCTION so people feel like they can trust my website with their personal financial information. Genuinely don’t recommend..Version: 2.20.0

Literally the worst app experienceBasically cannot update anything in 7.1 if using fluid engine. Can’t add new sections even if they have been saved, can’t edit sections or add blocks. The app is in effect redundant for anything you need to do aside from moving around your pages in the navigation menu, and maybe adding some SEO. which means if you need to maintain or are building a site you are chained to your computer. No point to this app in current state..Version: 2.6.0

Doesnt work!Just downloaded the app and it wont even start. I get stuck on the loading screen and then it kicks me off the app. Poor work..Version: 1.6.1

Womp womppppHere’s a suggestion: actually fix the bugs? Try using it on an iPhone, figure out what’s going wrong, and fix it. This service ain’t cheap. 🥲.Version: 2.33.0

UnstableFolders in the page view can’t be minimised… so then what is the point?.Version: 1.50.0

Frustrating that you can’t edit or add productsAlthough you can now edit pages in the app, you can’t edit product pages or edit or add new products to your store, which was the one thing I really wanted to be able to do on the go. The Squarespace Commerce app allows you to edit existing products, but it would be great to be able to add new products using your phone, and honestly I’d prefer to have one app for all these things rather than three (Squarespace, Squarespace Commerce and Squarespace Analytics) which is not ideal if you don’t have a phone with a large memory. I like Squarespace, but given the cost of the subscription I think this is an area where there is room for improvement..Version: 1.0.1

Constant performance issuesI’m generally happy with squarespace, but one massive problem I’ve been experiencing ever since I started using the app is constant performance issues. I’ve learned to never write the initial post on the site, because when I press “done” there’s a good chance everything I’ve written will just disappear completely. Instead I write the main draft elsewhere and copy it to the site and hope that it works properly this time. Oftentimes the site won’t load properly or just wont load at all. It is also slow to load when it does load. I don’t know much about coding and how all the behind the scenes stuff works, but everytime I try and use the app and am confronted with these often very frustrating issues, it gives me the impression that someone, somewhere in the development process is doing a bad job. I want to keep using squarespace, but if this performance level keeps up, I will move my business elsewhere..Version: 1.14.1

Some issuesI understand what a feat it actually is, to create an app for editing websites. The fact that they have done this is actually incredible and would have been unimaginable 10 years ago. However, there are some massive nuances in this editing process which deems this app only really useful for checking analytics and making minor adjustments such as correcting any typos or adding text. This app, in its current state is definitely not suitable for making major changes to your website. Save that for the computer. One thing Big issue I’d like to add here in case squarespace is actually reading this, is almost every time I attempt to view the desktop layout while editing in this app, it basically just becomes frozen and the app needs to be closed..Version: 1.94.0

Editing and website design needs workSome aspects of this app are great. However there are many bugs and it is nearly impossible to edit and design your website in the app. Very annoying for people who work mainly with an iPad and do not have a desktop. It did seem better before the new features they released recently - I updated certain aspects of my website on desktop with no warning that I would not be able to edit in app at all. Don’t release new features if your products are not streamlined. This is an unprofessional and amateur move I would not expect from a business making as much money as Squarespace. It has been very frustrating and wasted so much of my time, to the point where I may switch to another provider when my subscription is up. That said, the app works fine as an occasional companion to the desktop..Version: 1.101.0

Slow and laggyIt’s great for people who want to make websites but people with very little patience, it can get annoying as it is very slow when typing. Formats could also be better but they’re still nice 👍.Version: 1.92.0

Useless appI tried downloading it again and it’s still giving me an error and it won’t refresh. Tried contacting customer service and still the same. At this point don’t tell us to contact the service desk and just fix this app. I don’t recommend downloading this app until they can actually fix this, which I highly doubt. Such a disappointment..Version: 2.27.0

UnstablePretty much useless. Unstable and not loading properly. Analytics delayed by days..Version: 2.17.1

Good but super slowThe app is great for on the go but very slow. It’s very hard to refresh when new orders come in to print off. It’s easier for me to log in to my dashboard in my mobile browser then use the app most of the time..Version: 2.28.0

Has potential but in need of an updateBlocks can’t be moved on pages. They’re stuck at the bottom or top of the section/page because the editor app doesn’t seem to recognize the existing blocks if you try to move the one you’re adding. There are also entire pages that can’t be edited. You select a section, hit the Edit button and the section remains greyed out and uneditable. It’s a useful app, very user friendly, makes editing my website an ease, when I can actually edit it. There’s a lot of potential but having to use the app, Safari on mobile and my laptop to make complete edits to my website is the opposite of accessible..Version: 1.102.0

App continues to crashAny time you click on the settings button, I just keep getting an “unexpected error” message pop up. Have to either uninstall or wait ages for the app to eventually shut down to be able to reopen it. Very hard to actually edit anything. By the looks of all the reviews, this app is rubbish..Version: 2.32.0

So many issues1) one out of eight times when you search for a client’s last name under an order you get no results. It’s frustrating having to do this multiple times 2) when you click on the order history of one person instead of just showing how many orders they’ve had, it multiplies an order multiple times saying that instead of a client, for example, having one order they have 3 orders, so they app will list 1 order 3x. 3) printing is quirky. Half the time and order will not print and hast to get re-printed even after clicking print. Many many more issues, but these are my top annoying three.Version: 2.24.1

GlitchySquarespace as a company is amazing but this app is glitchy af..Version: 1.74.0

IPad app UI just keeps getting worseI’m fast becoming convinced that Square Space is intentionally making their iPad UI (in the both the app and a browser) almost impossible to use as a way to force you to a desktop machine. Every update seems to add a new fancy feature that simply doesn’t work very well, or at all. They also seem to neglect the fact that anyone who uses a keyboard stand is probably in Landscape mode, which is the worst of their UI experiences. I often have to take the ipad off the stand and use it in portrait to be able to do something, but then im unable to use the keyboard stand, so it’s just annoying. Square Space: If you are reading this, please make your developers use your own app in Landscape mode so they can see just how bad the experience is. Then fix it. Thank you!.Version: 2.0.0

Cannot edit pagesNot sure when this stopped working, but editing a page does not work..Version: 2.2.0

Utter rubbishIt’s been days since we informed Squarespace that there are serious problems with the blog section and still no sign of a fix. Our stats are going through the floor, and our blog is how our customers stay engaged. My advise at the moment is ‘Don’t build your new site in Squarespace, look elsewhere’! Wish I could rate this zero stars..Version: 2.0.0

Not for use on appTrialing squarespace, I am very disappointed by its complexity and that neither the app on iPad or iPhone works. Glitchy, can’t edit pages and goes in circles, not intuitive to use at all. Will not be using this service but I hope they can improve to be more user friendly..Version: 2.38.0

App is terrible for editingI love Squarespace when using it from my desktop but the app is awful/ constantly crashing. Sections on the website I can’t even edit, select or delete. It’s so slow. Also to note I’m working off one of the newest iPhones and have the newest updates of both app and software so it’s not related. Really disappointing. Please work on making this better. As a buisness it’s so important to be able to edit on the go.Version: 2.30.0

Mobile experience is horribleIt’s literally become unmanageable to manage my website on the mobile app or mobile browser. It either crashes or will only load one page to let me edit it before it stops loading new content. Updating the app doesn’t work. I never used to have these problems but now it’s constant, and other members of my team are experiencing the same issues..Version: 2.9.0

In some ways better, but in lots of others, worseWhere to start with this review... in some ways the app is an improvement on the previous blogger app, in that it more closely replicates the website functionality, and in theory increases what you can do from the iPad at last. And yet there are still so many basic problems that I wonder how this ever shipped. Things that are actively worse: 1. Editing a post that has already been published is actively difficult. I can’t scroll the markdown view, making that view useless. 2. I can’t seem to create new tags for posts, only select from the ones I have. 3. The URL structure for posts authored in the app is different to those on the website, and they are less SEO friendly. Things that still aren’t address in this version of the app: 1. Embed blocks still don’t support Soundcloud links, something pretty crucial for a music blogger, and functionality that has existed for years on the website. Why wouldn’t the embed functionality just use the exact plugin structure of the website? 2. You can’t animate images in the way you can on the website. It’s a small thing, but again... makes it hard to just use the mobile app without also working with the website. As someone who increasingly focuses their workflow on an iPad rather than a laptop, it feels like Squarespace are really dragging their heels on providing proper support..Version: 1.2.1

Always Crashes on MobileIt’s impossible to use. Every time I login it crashes. Has done for years..Version: 2.32.0

Session Expires immediatelyI log into the app, select my website and within 3 seconds, ‘session expired. Your current session is no longer valid, please log in again’ on infinite loop. Unusable..Version: 1.0.4

Second review and it should be a half starI still can’t use the app to blog from my iOS devices (iPhone, iPad). I have written a review before addressing this issue and I had a few support tickets on Squarespace directly to address the complaint. None of the support personnel seem to really listen to the problems stated by their customers. If they do, whatever is said doesn’t seem to get passed on to the developers. The last time I went through the support line, the first support person gave me what can be found on the support page for web-based issues. After I mentioned he failed to give me an appropriate answer to my complaint, I was then given another person who tried to address the app issues. However, the problems still remain and no deleting and reinstalling the app will solve it. All I want from this complaint and the going directly to Squarespace’s support is for this issue to be fixed. I should not be forced to use my computer if you offer this app for my devices. Before you decided to streamline the Squarespace app, you had a perfectly good blogging app. Don’t tell me to go to support again. Please listen to this and fix your bugs. Because I am ready to cancel my account. I don’t want to do this because I do like the website I created with your tools. However, I will not want to continue using Squarespace if it is too hard to use. Especially if the tools you provide make it impossible..Version: 1.13.0

Terrible for starting new postsI fought and fought with the app trying to start a new blog post. I created a title, added tags, and anything else gets wiped. I'll wait until I get back to my laptop before trying this again on the app. Garbage.Version: 2.15.0

Portfolio was such a good appAfter receiving an email of the discontinuation of the portfolio app, i decides to further delve into this app, and all i can say is, i am not satisfied, it logs me out after 2 clicks of anything in the menus, the gallery section is basically a chore to navigate to, is very slow and unresponsive at best.. plus the fact you can't download the content for viewing later on.. Portfolio was so much better for presentation... now i will have to manually load my webpage or just show clients my instagram.. what happened to you squarespace? everything was great until now...Version: 1.0.4

Developer: I am not opening a 3rd help ticket!!I just read your response to my plea for help on fixing the Text Editor feature since it’s not missing and I cannot fully edit text under Additional Info under Inventory. I am not opening a 3rd help ticket via chat. I got absolutely nowhere with 2 people who do rudely closed my ticket out saying this is now closed. It’s never been resolved. Only dismissed. I do not have time to babysit your people. If you expect to last long in this field the best customer service solution would be to acknowledge my never ending problem & ASSURE me that the will get top priority and have it fixed within 24 hours at least!! Seriously contemplating switching back to Shopify. They’re SEO was MUCH better also. Are you able to confirm now that you will fix text editor or not? Very disappointed as I was thinking I liked your platform once I got used to a few things..Version: 1.62.0

Absolute trashApp used to be semi-decent but they keep taking away functionality & it just goes in circles or you tap to edit a page and it does nothing, or only gives the option to duplicate or delete the page. I can’t lug my laptop around all the time and need to be able to truly edit on the go, create blog posts, etc. Why would you take away features that were already there? Totally useless now, don’t bother downloading, you will indeed have to wait until you can make all your changes on a desktop. What a waste of potential..Version: 2.41.0

Why is it so difficult on an iPadI’ve used in the passed on a computer but I don’t currently have access so I wanted to use my iPad. So difficult. It won’t let me edit the words with any ease or allow me to select how to enter basic information I’ve reached out for help as I use square for so much and I’m not able to combine them at all Square has appointments and scheduling and they won’t talk to each other appointments has a better app and interface for me but looks awful for customers while scheduling looks great I struggle to make it work..Version: 1.100.0

Great website, terrible appI love Squarespace but I hate this app! The Commerce app was SO much better. I don’t understand why they switched to this one and why it’s not more user friendly. It’s basically exactly what you have on the computer just smaller, it doesn’t make sense because the old app style/user friendly version is much more appropriate. I don’t even get notifications when people have made purchases on my site anymore so what’s the point? Not sure why they’ve made the switch to this terrible new app to be honest.Version: 1.54.0

New to web designI am new to any website making platform, and SS makes it relatively easy to learn. However, I cannot afford to fix my macbook right now and am depending on my iPad Air to get my done... So far the website is looking awesome. BUT, the app is very laggy— it will just stop responding or I can’t click to edit so I’ll have to clear the app and restart it. Not to mention there are countless things I am unable to do with the app which is incredibly frustrating. I’ll work on a block and go back later to edit only to see it is now an “unsupported block.” For how much money this costs, it would have been nice to know I can’t even use all of its features on my device..Version: 1.20.0

BuggyVery buggy. Constantly freezes. The editor is unusable on iOS..Version: 1.103.0

Needs some workThe app always crashes when trying to log in. When you do get in, then there are a few problems that really ruin the experience for me. When you’re looking at an image gallery, it doesn’t fit on the full mobile screen. Uploading images is nice and easy, but organising and moving them around is a nightmare.. dragging and holding the images also scrolls the page up and down at the same time and it feels like a rubbish port of the desktop site just lazily shoved into the app. App needs a rework. Would be great to see Squarespace build a from the ground up app so it’s not just a browser port. It’s far too clunky to use. You might as well just go to your desktop/laptop.Version: 2.11.1

Long lag in analytics dataA good complimentary app to a great service however some (if not all) analytics lag in about two hours. Real-time data (as available in the “commerce” app for the same platform) would make this better..Version: 1.38.0

Subscriptions website settings is terribleSTOP AUTO Subscriptions website !!!! I don’t need it!!! the website kept showing up fix [websit subscriptions]! Its very easy let people confuse and accident pay two plans and when you try to make refund immediately. Then it’s show up can’t refund monthly plan! It’s totally terrible and like scams app..Version: 2.28.0

Borderline unusableJust to be clear, the problem isn’t the service Squarespace offers. It’s the mobile app you try to use it through. The editor doesn’t work. Changes don’t save, some of the tools just don’t exist even if they’re on your site and you can’t change the simplest of images. I love the service on PC, but it’s unusable on mobile/iPad.Version: 2.12.0

New update is badBring back the pages feature. This new update makes the app virtually useless for blogging..Version: 2.0.0

Very slow and not user friendly. This mobile app is terrible. It’s quite confusing to navigate through and slower than a turtle in molasses. Not pleased. As I was looking forward to the convenience of updating my shop on the fly. Please do better squarespace. I do like your company and clean website look and will continue to build on the desktop version. But I expect some improvements in this app. I have paid for the year, but will not hesitate to switch on over to Shopify if need be. Thanks for reading. Cheers..Version: 1.92.0

Shipping options are not goodIf your business grows and you want to offer your clients free shipping with minimum spend Squarespace forces you to purchase a more expensive plan. If you are choosing between Squarespace and Shopify, choose Shopify. Shopify allows you to choose whatever shipping option you like with their basic plan..Version: 1.41.0

Read the offers before purchasing! This is more a review of the site itself than the app. I’ve never started a site or purchased a domain, so I was really lost when I started this. When you purchase an annual plan you get a free domain, but that wasn’t clear to me so I purchased a domain up front and then a monthly plan when I realized that just buying a domain wouldn’t allow me to publish my website through Squarespace. So I asked customer service to give me a credit for the domain that I *just* purchased (because had I known, I would have just bought the annual plan). They would not allow me to upgrade to the annual plan and credit me for the domain. I’ve also clicked around the site extensively and it’s not easy to use for inexperienced website developers— I’ll need help from a friend to navigate starting my site, that is, if I continue with Squarespace after their unfair policy..Version: 1.2.1

Useless app in an e-commerce environmentWhere to star… difficult to use, wasting time opening and closing pop up windows, having to scroll up and down because 2/3 of the screen are covered by the web editor that is never used by the team dispatching orders, security issues since everyone in the team can edit content and design. I suspect the 5 star reviews are done by Squarespace..Version: 1.55.0

Scam. It’s not free to get your business public. It’s glitchy and nothing ever saves. Definitely do not recommend! It’s a waste of time!.Version: 2.37.2

Poor app; poor supportI'm writing here since I received a tickler to update my review. As I said before, this version of the Squarespace app does not seem to work at all well, allowing me to to even simple things on my blog. The older version worked fine. So disappointing! Of course, Squarespace responds that I need to contact customer support, which I did. They ignored my specific questions (apparently not even reading them), and instead sent me links to tutorials that I had already watched several times and found to be useless in addressing my problems. When I wrote back to customer support that these tutorials did not cover my questions, I was told that they would refer me to someone who could help and that it may be a few days before they would get back to me. It has now been weeks and I have heard nothing. It looks like Squarespace is resting on their past reputation..Version: 1.103.0

Missing key elements, and glitchesI use the app for blogs on our website and there are things that I cannot do on the app, so I have to finish on a computer browser. I cannot add Tags, Categories, Title photos, etc. Placement of media on the blogs is difficult to customize. And I can only add 1 piece of media before having to click “Done - Save Draft - Edit” before adding another one. Every time after I’ve added a photo then click the + to add another, the menu to edit the photo I just added pops up. I should really be able to use this app as a replacement for the browser, especially considering the mobile browser doesn’t seem compatible (regardless of which browser I am using) and never works either..Version: 1.2.1

Getting worseUpdating on my 2-star review below, things are getting worse for me, not better. Tags added in the app now only get added in lower case, even though Squarespace tags are case-sensitive. This means all tags get forked into upper and lower case versions and related posts are not linked (if you have pre-existing tags created in the web app). The URL issue remains unsolved. After 3 years of blogging on Squarespace, I have come to accept that I can no longer manage my workflow on mobile. Site looks pretty, though, and switching platform would be a massive pain at this stage… (I’d rate Squarespace as a whole pretty well – desktop is great – but this app is a huge let-down for me.) —— Old review The two big problems for anyone creating blog posts in this app: 1. The post URL does not match your configured naming scheme (goodbye /blog/post-title; hello /blog/g1bberi5HhAHvGK) 2. You cannot create tags. Both of those were fine in the old Blog app. I eventually got a reply from support, who confirmed that new tags are not implemented, then suggested the naming scheme issues may be caused by custom CSS on the site. Rather than accept the goose-chase invitation to remove all customisation and retest their product for them, I plumped for manually entering the URL every time. Was not a huge fan of the Blog app, but this is a downgrade for me. Hoping it will improve..Version: 1.26.0

Virtually impossible to cancelIt shows directions on the help page to downgrade or cancel services for the app, how ever in the app, there is no option shown unlike the directions. I’ve raised 2 tickets to cancel my subscription (which I never opted to restart, but were automatically restarted just by logging in) and have had no replies..Version: 1.25.0

Nice things but please stop the promo video sounds! It’s nice to have more access to my site but I wish I could delete the promo video maker - it takes up the app homescreen so I have to click Hide every time. If I click on the promo maker mistake it sometimes starts blasting out a generic ad voiceover and music even if I close the tab and move to say Analytics I still hear it. I wish I could permanently delete the promo maker - I will never use it as it doesn’t suit my store..Version: 2.11.1

Can’t upload inventoryI just got this app to start my own small business and it won’t let me add inventory which is super annoying):.Version: 1.62.0

Service is great the app is the problemNever come across an app that is so useless for its company. I don’t know where you’ve gotten any positive feedback. The whole purpose of having an iPad and the app is to edit on the go. I can’t edit at all, create pages sure, and navigation is fine just can’t do any editing at all..Version: 2.15.0

Why?I’m happy for those that enjoy this app, but for the life of me I don’t understand why Squarespace thought this was going to be a replacement for the discontinued Portfolio App. That app was beautiful and served a function for us photographers, designers and whomever else that needed to show their work offline. Whenever I do get a response about why they decided to do this, it’s the same copy and paste answer that makes no sense. Basically saying the portfolio app was discontinued because this new app allows you to edit your website, like that has absolutely nothing to do with why the app is gone. If this app didn’t exist, I could still edit my website on my desktop, no problem, but with the portfolio app now gone I have to create a whole new way of showing off my work to potential clients. If I didn’t pay for this service, I wouldn’t care. I would just move on.. but this is something lots of us used and need and a lot of us only used Squarespace for that functionality. I really don’t understand. I wish someone from Squarespace would actually answer this like a human and not cut and paste a generic answer that gives us no hope on if the app will return..Version: 1.1.3

Horrible experienceHad a disgusting experience with this company, felt disrespected by their non existent customer service that leads you in loops and you try to solve a problem in the website, they charged without my authorisation and they do all they can no to refund me. Just terrible! Stay away from them!.Version: 1.19.0

Was a 5 star app, when it worked…Hey guys, when adding new images to my gallery, I can’t view any of them after. Just get white screen overlay. Any pop up screen/window doesn’t work in the app. Not even my main menu button. My business relies on the images of my work. Been like this for 6 months, new update done today and nothing has got better..Version: 1.67.0

This app is consistently inconsistentI am trying to use this app to design my commerce website. Aside from being able to ***occasionally*** use it to upload a picture of a product/edit the product’s info - and I say occasionally because it said over 100 times that my device was not connected to the internet - it was - it literally doesn’t work at ALL. My app is up to date, my phone and iPad Pro are up to date - yet I can’t even create any page on this app. Even something simple like adding one photo and a paragraph - I pick to add a “featured photo” - when I go to add the photo the whole box disappears. I’m really disappointed and I’m actually paying for this. I don’t know how this has FIVE STARS. Who is getting this to work? How are you doing it? Or are the reviews from bots????.Version: 2.7.0

‘New app’ keeps reverting to old app - definitely not working properlyEdit - after my last review things improved and I had good access of the new in app analytics for a few days - although it made me log in with password on every opening - but since yesterday I just have a blurred screen and rotating circle icon with app not even loading - despite deleting and reloading 😫 I’ve had the new app for a while, but still kept using old familiar analytics app - now forced to use the new app since old one has been switched off - only the new app keeps reverting to old layout on my iPhone. Click on analytics and it tells me to download analytics app that you have now switched off ?? Then get stuck in that page - literally have to close the app leave it a few hours and reopen app again & it loads as new app - great - I go and look at analytics that works fine, but as soon as I use the ‘home’ button it takes me back into the old app - which is switch off - it’s like being stuck in Groundhog Day - only I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong - so I can no longer monitor my website on the move. Very disappointing..Version: 1.43.0

Confusing designSquarespace used to be pinnacle of cool and classy UI design, but the latest iteration of the app is a confusing departure. Headings are *tiny* and gray making them visually subdued and super easy to overlook when they should be standing out. Iconography is super generic and has no personality. Square-corner buttons are easy to mistake for plain text boxes (especially being so large compared to other text and UI) or don't look like buttons at all (why is some button text black and some blue?), graphs are hollow and not very useful (show me more useful, actionable data—more trends over time). Revenue section takes hours to update sometimes (how hard is it to sum all orders??). Commerce section is needlessly airy and open, especially the orders list. What I need is to get to information quickly, so a dense layout would be preferred. Currently I can only see only *5* orders at a time on an iPhone 14. (Though mini product images for each order are a nice addition, so keep those!) I realize this is a tough task. This app does a lot all in one, and a black and white brand identity makes things especially challenging when it comes to UI/UX. Clearly some emphasis has been given to the site editing experience, which I definitely appreciate... but maybe less time spent on redesigns and more time iterating/improving what you already have, plus adding more useful features would be really nice!.Version: 2.3.0

It was great until the last few updates…Not sure why you decided to change the entire layout, it feels like it’s clunky and old. It was perfect before (well a few niggly issues). Now I’m lucky if I can actually find pages to edit. It’s removed my hidden items completely and you have to click multiple sub menus to do anything. Previously this was all on the Home Screen. Not impressed at all..Version: 2.41.0

Hate itCompared to Shopify this thing is easily ten times as hard for someone who’s not a web designer. I have to keep switching between my phone and a computer bypassing glitches messaging support getting incorrect answers back. Bought my url name back from Shopify and it literally created a trial of my url name and another website. So everything I’ve done upon creating the original site is gone on the other one. Tried merging the help center isn’t even helping. I highly highly HIGHLY regret purchasing this app. I’ve been working on my website for a week and still stuck. I’m so upset about wasting my money and my business not having a proper site for over a week..Version: 2.1.1

DisappointedSo many features are not available. Even adding simple text is not ready yet. Why would you release an app that is not up to scratch or cannot provide basic editing options? I think there is a long way to go for this application. Lots of potential, but not there yet..Version: 1.0.2

Crashes immediately when attempting to edit or viewI’m a brand new subscriber to Squarespace…and I’m on the fence about my choice across the board, unfortunately. I like the templates and general user interface, but I was expecting a far less glitchy and finicky experience overall. With regards to the app, it simply does not work for me. Period. On an iPhone 11, running iOS 14.8, with the most updated version of the app, it crashes immediately and every time I press the ‘Edit’ button or attempt to view any page of my website — from any area of the app..Version: 1.88.0

Billing for yearsThese people are scum. My website has been inactive for year and they have still charged me every month and haven’t turned off the auto renew. I am not that tech savvy so I asked them to remove my payment details. Nothing has changed Don’t use these people. No one can answer phone calls. Pointlessness.Version: 2.23.0

Really poorLots of glitches on the app - cannot edit text and cannot edit photos. I can’t even send the help team a screenshot because there is a glitch in the attachment button. Asking anything of the team just leads to the same answer about restarting your iPad and checking app is the latest version. Most definitely going to move to wix or web flow as a result unless this is sorted.Version: 2.8.0

New update isn’t greatThe app used to be super easy to make changes to your website on the go - but the new layout isn’t the most intuitive (having to go to the ‘more’ tab to use the most fundamental feature (for me) to edit pages on the fly). But also not being able to change the content on your pages, from crashing to freezing or just being unresponsive. It’s such a useful app, but please revert to the old format..Version: 2.1.0

App worked just fine until now.I am unable to activate notifications about placed orders or site traffic. This is a known issue to the developers, but wouldn’t you think it is quite important to know when a customer placed an order with you! I do. This worked perfectly fine up until a couple of months ago when an update was done, and now all you get is the run around for if/when it will be fixed. When you have multiple staff members in charge of your pending orders it’s helpful to be notified because not everyone receives an email and you end up having to check multiple times a day. Please fix the notifications asap! Or better yet stop messing with things that don’t need to be fixed..Version: 2.11.1

Always fixing what isn’t broken.Did away with the commerce app, now we all get to deal with the repercussions. Too many issues to list here with this app now, but perhaps the most annoying two attributes: 1)When opening a transaction, half the time buttons at the bottom of the transactions page are inaccessible. You have to click the manage button, then click something like cancel order, then click no, then buttons at the bottom of the page are accessible. Certainly a bunch of nonsense I want to deal with when I am just trying to process the transaction. 2)Have promo codes on your website? Well now those are totally impossible to manage through an app, you have to do it through a desktop site… Because two steps forward and 10 steps back..Version: 1.51.0

Terrible UI and UnresponsiveAfter a few years of trying to edit a previous website using Squarespace, I thought I’d give them another try. However, after so many years they still manage to get everything so wrong. A huge tech company providing services in website design and e-commerce, yet they can’t seem to get the foundations of their mobile app responsiveness right. My advice would be to use a website such as Wordpress or Universe..Version: 2.16.0

Come on Squarespace you can do ‘Library’ better! The existing ‘Library’ offering is poor. Squarespace needs to provide a proper image library where customers can add, replace, delete, rename image resources across their sites. All images should be labelled as in use with details of their use across site pages. Replacing one image replaces all the instances across the site, this should be achievable either via the library or on a page where that image instance is used. Squarespace needs to do better, it’s a premium product, shouldn’t it’s customers receive a premium service? Please do better by your customers Squarespace..Version: 1.72.0

I can’t edit the footer using the app -iOS 16.5Fix it please. Thank you..Version: 2.15.0

What happened?I’ve been with SS since 2015 and have mostly loved the creation experience, even more with the new 7.1 update and the ability to save sections (although manually moving all my blog posts and pages over was a doozy!)😵 and the app it self has improved over the years…. Until now. As a busy solopreneur and mom of 2, I NEED to be able to make edits to my website off my phone. When using the app, why do all of my pages appear blank?! Why can’t I edit the text?? (And yes, I’ve updated the app and these glitches are with the new update). This should be a BASIC feature on this app. There are multiple other things, like not being able to change the size of the logo on mobile view, that are really annoying because I can’t always get to a computer when I’m nap trapped with my child. Or that the mobile view of every single page now needs be to edited because there huge gaps all over the pages when moving form desktop view. SS should default to making the mobile experience BETTER NOT WORSE both for creators and customers. Also for someone who doesn’t use the commerce feature, is there an option to replace that button on the bottom with something that I would actually use? Praying for some app fixes and updates SOON, would be happy to update my review if these issues are addressed..Version: 2.11.0

Doesn’t work with iPadI like the templates, but I can’t do anything from my iPad Air. The app is glitchy and doesn’t let me edit text. The editor in Safari doesn’t format properly (it shows me the sidebar menu but not the website I’m working on)..Version: 2.2.0

Cannot Manage Email Campaigns from MobileOverall, I am severely disappointed in SQS email solution. First, if you have a membership site, you can’t created an automation for anyone who joins a membership community. It’s crazy. I can have an automation for someone who joins my newsletter, or selects marketing communication at the end of an e-commerce purchase, but not for signing up / creating a membership account. Absolute garbage. Further, using another CRM solution won’t offer a work around, because the issue is where the emails are stored when someone creates a membership account. The next big disappointment is trying to manage your email campaigns from a mobile device. I can’t even create a campaign because when I select a template the “use” button is hidden. I try pulling the screen down enough hoping I can tap it before it disappears, but can’t select “use”. SQS is overpriced and missing key functionality. I will be switching from this solution..Version: 1.63.0

Can’t change templates after you chooseUPDATE: “All sites on Squarespace version 7.1 have the same capabilities and style options” should make it easier to switch layouts, not impossible. All versions of Squarespace up until this point allowed it as do competitors. I’ve already been refunded and won’t return to Squarespace until this feature is restored. ——————- Original post: So, you choose a website template, start building, add some pages, change this, change that, switch a font, move this, resize that…then realize you’re horrible at website design lol (duh that’s why these type builders exist!). No worries, let’s scratch this one, choose a new template and start over. But you can’t. SS wants you to change each part manually. You can’t switch templates. You used to with every version of SS up until now (and with every other website builder from competitors), but now you can’t. I wish they’d add this feature back, then I’d come back:).Version: 1.88.0

Not available on iPad?!What a bizarre decision to first release this only on iPhone. You can't edit a website on a phone. Hurry up with the iPad version..Version: 1.0.3

Underwhelming and buggyI wish I could like this app because I would really love the ability to update my site from my phone. But every time I open the app I’m quickly reminded of its limitations. For example, you can’t edit an event from the app. Really? Another example, when I have a summary block, I cannot change what gallery it displays. It allows me to change it, but then the change never occurs. Similarly, it looks like I can alter the tag filtering the gallery, but that doesn’t work either. Both of these features work on the desktop product, but not from mobile. It looks like you can edit these things, but when you try to save them they NEVER SAVE! Super frustrating. Stop pretending to have functionality that doesn’t work!.Version: 1.6.3

Need a way for website owner to manage customer account.Just need the option to delete a customer account. Your forgot password on the site is very slow or doesn’t send to the customer. It’s been a repeat problem over and over. And when the customer contacts me I am helpless to help them. If I could delete the account it would solve the problem. It would still protect the customer’s privacy but also give the site owner some options to assist them when they can’t seem to login or ask for their autoship to be turned off on our end. Right now I can’t help them with the issue of password reset or canceling their subscription. Which leaves me limited in customer service..Version: 1.27.0

A buggy, miserable app.The only reason I currently use Squarespace is that I am too lazy to move to another platform. Otherwise, there is no reason to use this platform or this app. Endless price increases with no additional functionality. A buggy and unintuitive website and a horrendously buggy and unusable mobile app. And no attempt to provide even basic features, such as the ability to update a blog using third-party software. Just now, I gave up trying to update my photography blog because it was impossible to access options for a photo once it was uploaded, and the reason I needed to access those options is because it was seemingly impossible to ADD A CAPTION TO THE PHOTO. Unbelievable. You people ought to be ashamed of yourselves for putting this out to the public and charging for it..Version: 2.2.0

Sure, why not?I guess it works, kinda. But do you need squarespace in app form? Probably not.Version: 2.32.0

Bring back full featuresThis app was really easy to use until they started limiting actions. Who has a desktop anymore? I have to go find a computer to edit on. MAD WEAK. I could understand if the technology wasn't there; but the features were already there and have been removed. What is the reasoning behind this? I wish i never updated this app so I could continue to use it the way I always have. UPDATE OCT 4 - still crappy. Limited block features. Pretty useless. Just bring back the full features. Anything i want to do has to be updated on a desktop. MAD WEAK whats the point?.Version: 1.55.0

UnuseableHaving a website development app is a fantastic idea in theory but this isn’t it. I can’t edit anything because as soon as I open the menu to edit the copy on my site, the page reloads and the text disappears so my site looks completely empty. I can’t work on the go the way I wanted to..Version: 2.22.0

Infuriating appWhile I can edit listings online, selling in person is impossible right now. It's asking to turn on microphone access, but that isn't an option in settings. Now I have to go back to this app and remove inventory, since square and Squarespace aren't linking. Which is infuriating to keep track of when it's busy. As Squarespace grows I find the app, site and customer service gets worse, yet I'm paying more than ever. Edit: I contacted customer service on Sunday and received a message with steps on how to sell online, which I have already done successfully in the past, these steps did not resolve my issue. Two days later (while I'm not set up at a trunk show) I receive a message stating to delete and reload the app. While this worked, my initial review stays the same. Customer service two days later (while saying they are available 24/7) with an excuse of being too busy, did not resolve my issue in a timely manner. Squarespace seems to have too many issues to promptly offer help. Help we pay for..Version: 1.102.0

Constant error messageI’m having non-stop trouble with this app, and keep getting a pop-up screen saying “Unexpected Error: we need to reload this view.” Upon pressing ‘Reload’, it just gives me the same message, over and over and over again… Nothing ever changes or reloads, and I am unable to click on any other section of the app. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling, but the problem remains. Very frustrating!!.Version: 2.35.1

The new update has broken app.The app has recently updated to look more like the desktop however it is now unusable. There were a few glitches in the past but I could mostly use my phone to easily add and edit event listings on our music venue website. Now thanks to the new app I can not add images, link buttons or anything else without the app asking immediately if I’d like to publish the post. I’m totally stuck. I also can not add an end time to events any longer. Please help. Being able to use this app to update the website on the go was one of the selling points..Version: 2.0.0

IPad Pro and appVerdict: Well, it’s better than Wix... Mostly functional but it doesn’t replace having an actual computer which is super annoying. Some blocks have to be edited, moved, added, or deleted from a browser and the ipad version of safari doesn’t cut it either. My main wish is that it would be fully functional from the app and capable of supporting all the features offered, which should be feasible with the ipad specific iOS being released. More for the wish list: - edit pictures in app, even just basic cropping would be quite helpful - ability to rearrange squares in blog posts. The text and the pictures don’t line up automatically when added and you can’t really move them around - pictures don’t load when you go back into a draft. This should be the most easily remedied but I can’t seem to get it to cooperate on my end. All said, it’s better than the Wix app, so if you haven’t committed to a host yet and working on iOS is a factor for you, then Squarespace wins..Version: 1.2.1

FrustratingThe latest update means writing any blog posts is a lengthy process. Any content I enter into a post gets immediately deleted when I save it. The format seems to be trying to replicate the PC experience of the website but it’s insanely harder to do that on a phone… thought the app experience was okay until this latest change… not sure why it’s been updated. About to give up using Squarespace as need app access to be speedy..Version: 2.15.0

App unusableEdit function, add sections, etc. does not work at all at the moment..Version: 2.12.0

Used to love itI feel taken advantage of and lied to by Squarespace. I used to love SS and so, I’ve been a loyal customer for many years. About a year ago or 2 I noticed they changed their pricing plans so I switched to a less expensive one. Only to find out that this included a sneaky new 3% (on top of the stripe fee!) fee for all commerce sales. When I attempted to switch back to my old plan that had no fee I was told I couldn’t, no exceptions and my once grandfathered in plan for being a loyal customer was now null and void. This is not how I would like to be treated being a long term client. I understand I made a mistake and will now read the fine print more slowly but I am a long term customer, I am an artist, please treat me as an individual and not as one in a heard of sheep. If they switch me back to my grandfathered in business plan without the 3% transaction fee I would be a happy camper. Until then, I’m very unhappy with them and plan on one day switching to another provider that doesn’t take a chunk of small artists’ earnings without stating in large print first..Version: 1.5.3

No iPad version?Squarespace: I love your platform. I’ve been using it for years. The only limitation has been that sometimes I’ll need to wait till I’m back at my desktop before implementing a change that was discussed during a meeting. I’m thrilled that there is now an iOS version. But not optimized for iPad? Really? How likely is it that I will be making changes to my brand story via my phone? Many of us use iPad’s with external keyboards as much as our desktop/laptops if not as our primary work tool #iPadOnly. So even though we can open it on our iPads, it is positioned in portrait mode, while our keyboards are optimized for landscape mode. This is a problem for me, and I’m sure I’m not unique. What UX research did you do to that lead you to optimize for iPhone? Seems like I’ll still be waiting till I’m back at my desktop before implementing changes..Version: 1.0.4

Want to give 5 stars BUT…UPDATEWhen using the application to scan my orders in and searching for customers, it’s a real pain as when I type in a search I can literally type the name in and it won’t show anything unless I hit space or back up (very painful when you are in a hurry) so that’s one glitch and the second glitch that is really painful is (and this is as of recent)when I go to search for an order to scan it as it’s completed, I cannot click into the order to scan so that I have to funnel through hundreds of orders to find the order number and unfortunately this causes an issue when I have customers that I want to put their shipment together and they’ve ordered in with a gap like order 9700 and 9750 I may not know that there’s a sister order…. Please fix —— Stupid canned response - now 1 star - I didn’t have a suggestion- your last update is broken- how ridiculous.Version: 2.5.1

The App Made Me Lose My Work!Over a year later: The app seems much worse now! Can’t edit blog titles, can’t open blog pages in the app, it redirects me to my homepage (I tested this out thinking it was just that one post, but it was happening with all posts, drafts and published). I could literally just continue drafting my posts on my notes app and then emailing myself to copy and paste on the web browser because this app is just beyond useless at this point. Old review 2020: I spent a good hour or two composing a new blog post, following months of writers’ block. I saved my work and exited (but did not actually close) the app. A few hours later, I went back to edit the post, only to find that Squarespace had only saved the title, but none of the body! All my hard work disappeared like a ghost and I’m really upset! I don’t know if it’s an isolated incident or others have experienced too, but it’s so devastating. I’m now trying to recollect everything, but it’s never going to be as raw as it was when I first wrote it. Disappointing. The design on the mobile app is just severely flawed.Version: 1.70.0

Love Squarespace. Hate this app.Why have an app if it doesn’t even have basic features? I work on an iPad and the only restrictive thing about it is that I can’t edit my site properly, and then Squarespace won’t let me edit the site in an iPad browser. You have to have a desktop to do it properly. The old app was restrictive but it had most of the features. I can’t even crop a photo in the new one..Version: 1.84.1

App doesn’t workImpossible to use. Gotta rethink this one guys.Version: 2.22.0

What happened guys?!Whoa. I’ve used Square Space previously and decided it was the best option to use again for creating a simple webpage for a festival I’ve been helping promote. I presumed editing would be swift and seamless between my phone and laptop as it had proved to be before, and that within an hour or two I would be able to produce and launch a beautiful website. I’m utterly shocked at not only the lack of functionality to edit templates within the app, but the apparent lack of customer support! Since June the app has received poor reviews on the App Store and the developer responds to each of these by requesting the user send an email. Squarespace, don’t waste your time telling me to email your tech team or whomever. Whoever you are responding to these reviews, please do YOUR job, and YOU send the appropriate people the information that we’ve all clearly shared here. Not only is your app broken, unresponsive, overpromising, and underdelivering, but it has already wasted enough of your users’ time. Maybe fix what is a widespread issue, release an update, and stop giving everyone the runaround. I thought deciding between Squarespace and Wix was going to be a tough choice… so I guess I can thank you for making that part of my website development journey easy. Get it together!.Version: 2.17.1

The Worst Customer Service In HistoryUse Shopify (or literally anything else) Squarespace customer service is inept and absolutely worthless. They should allow zero star ratings..Version: 2.36.1

Good appI’ve been waiting for this app for a long time, it works well. I was shocked to find that there is not an iPad version available..Version: 1.0

App cannot update product imagesThe Squarespace team insisted I stop using the browser version on my phone to edit my site and to download the app to use it to edit my Commerce site. Yet, the app can’t do the most very basic function of switching out a featured image for my product, which is exactly what I need to do for the dozens of products I sell monthly. Why not? Why push an app to customers when it cannot do a basic editing step? What is the point of having a featured image if it cannot be changed? Why is an image still featured, even if I delete it? I asked these question of the customer service via live chat and they don’t have an answer. I’m deleting the app as it is worthless to me as a small business owner when I cannot use to merely update product photos. Save your time and don’t download it if you want to be able to do editing on your phone..Version: 2.22.0

Edits on ipad not workingDriving me nuts - when I call up a new template section it leaves it blank and I can’t add my text and images - no template suggestions for me to make personal - just a blank white space. Have tried shutting down, retrying, reloading new app, deleting, trying again and again and still no joy. Works fine on my laptop but sadly I only have my ipad and iPhone with me for 2.5 weeks and need to make changes and the app just not working…..Version: 1.98.0

No iPad appMy number 1 frustration with my Squarespace site is that I have to use a computer to do anything with it, when I do everything else on my iPad. When I saw this app come out I hoped that would change. But no, this is an iPhone only app, works on an iPad in iPhone dimensions and only in portrait. And the first thing I tried to do to test it out, it told me I couldn’t do, I had to go to a computer to do it..Version: 1.0.1

Can’t even load pages in the appNice to know that a company as big as Squarespace can’t even get their basic features working, guess it’s just another company that relies on marketing to sell their incomplete and subpar products..Version: 1.51.0

Adequate app but so limitedI totally understand that the iPhone and iPad apps will be limited compared to the desktop versions. However this app is so limited that it’s unable to do many things. It can’t add video to page , it can’t add LINKS to a page and moving items that are currently on the page isn’t intuitive drag and drop. I don’t have iPhone 15 or iPad Pro but this feels like it was made for iPhone 6 and iPad 2 because it’s so basic. Several years ago when I had a iPhone 8 I used the Squarespace app to do more. Now even semi recent tech can do stuff I could do in the past. I understand podcasting on the go on the mobile app is a bridge too far but excluding galleries, videos and linked pages is really disappointing. The app is stable and for it does it’s fine but it was better in the past and now it’s fundamentally limited. It’s ok but it should be fantastic. The previous “blog” app was more feature rich and that was discontinued years ago..Version: 2.37.2

Would love to have a order notification soundGreat app. But it would be nice to have an order notification sound that sounds anytime you receive an order..Version: 1.37.0

Needs to update every time I open itFrustrating.Version: 1.55.0

CrappyCan’t edit text… just too hard. Don’t suggest I ‘reach out to Customer Support’.. you know full well what’s wrong.Version: 2.15.0

Cant even edit websites without laptop or desktopUseless app. A quarter of the features. The rest you have to switch to a computer. Waste of time.Version: 1.30.1

No specific support offeredWhen you run into trouble, expect to be pointed into a rabbit hole of tutorials with no specific support to your issue. I found my site wasn’t searchable through google and their response was it was a “complicated subject”. They’re lovely but no help which means you can put a huge deal of effort into this and have it fall at the last hurdle, costing you money and opportunities lost. I’d research a bit more before signing up..Version: 1.2.1

Total junkCan’t resize blocks or add spacers so making basic layouts is more or less impossible. Terrible app, what’s the point of even releasing it if it doesn’t support the basic functionality needed to build a website? The worst thing is that the browser version doesn’t work with my iPad Pro either so editing Squarespace without a laptop or desktop computer is not really possible, which is extremely disappointing..Version: 1.18.1

Dead links left right and centreJust downloaded it and I keep getting dead links when trying to create a site.Version: 1.54.0

Problems with mobile siteHi I am still having technical issues with the mobile site… unable to edit pages (just go white when I click to edit… any help would be appreciated. Thanks, jack.Version: 1.92.0

Ok but definitely needs improvementsCompared to using the Squarespace editor on a desktop, this app is very glitchy. There are multiple features (for example: rearranging images in a gallery, adding captions to gallery images) that straight up cannot be done on the app due to glitches. These feel like important features to me, and the fact that I cannot edit key areas of my website without access to a desktop computer is the reason for three stars. The app should be sufficient enough that I do not have to leave my website looking half-finished until I get to a computer..Version: 2.37.2

The app used to be promising, it is now totally uselessI have been editing on Squarespace for 5 years now and must say this may be the end of my Squarespace experience. The editing plateforme works “ok” on a desktop ( it all depend if you are PC or Mac). It used to be easier a couple of years ago, though. If you are blogging or editing on the road with an IPad Pro, be prepared to encounter a lot of frustration. Why an App if that app is not working or at best letting you do real editing ( inserting photo txt, deleting, changing layout….) This is highly disappointing and frustrating with the feeling that the last 4 years have been more a downgrade than an upgrade..Version: 2.2.0

Does not Work with iPad Pro 3rd Gen.So, I brought this New iPad Pro 3rd Gen to replace my old MacBook Pro. I found I don;t really need a laptop or even MacBook. This ipad does everything I need it to do except being able to edit my website’s footers which have my business hours on it. That being said. I have contacted apple and it is not on there end. I am not even able to edit my footers in Safari much less this joke of a website manager. I have also tried contacting Squarespace Support and all I get is an email back days later explaining that they built the app for iPhones not iPads. Okay not sure who made that call but alrighty then. May question is why can’t I even edit the footers though Safari at the vary least?? It wouldn’t even work when I click “Request Desktop Site”. It will not Scroll to the bottom of a page in Safari in the Squarespace website account and building pages... This is a real problem for me as I no longer have my old computer and now I must borrow a computer to be a edit my website. I will change the rating and delete this review once this is addressed and fixed..Version: 1.0.4

Google Domains was way better.I am not impressed.Version: 2.37.2

Still betaNeeded to edit the footer on a client page, should be easy job but not supported on this app. Developer responded still need to use the web based desktop version. Why not just call this beta software and get feedback not launch as fully functioning app, see other reviews. Typical square space, all gloss, not much depth.Version: 1.1.2

Stripe + inability to editI have to give SS 1-star for the time being. Here are my two main reasons: 1) they only connect with PayPal and Stripe for sales. PayPal is frustrating on their own but Stripe has been amazingly good for years UNTIL this month when Stripe decided my business wasn’t suitable for them (I’m selling prints of my photos and art. Nothing profane - just simple images). Stripe listed me as a banned business and now I cannot take credit cards. I have to switch to Shopify for this reason since SS only uses Stripe for billing. Shopify has many plugins that make it seamless and easy for taking cards. 2) you can’t edit text on the mobile app. This should be a no-brainer to fix but it’s been broken for months. See a typo on your site and want to fix it? You’ll need to wait until you get to a computer. SS: please fix these issues! I’ve been with SS for 10 years but I’ll have to leave if these basic features can’t be resolved..Version: 2.10.0

Totally uselessCompletely unreliable APP, constantly logs me out for no reason while I’m writing a blog / news article. Editing text is a nightmare, as it is extremely slow and buggy. Customer service is occasionally helpful but the copy and paste trouble shooting tips are frustrating and unhelpful. For that cost I’m paying, I’m searching for a better APP with more personal service..Version: 2.12.0

Not that greatSquare space may have all the bells and whistles, yet is not clear to first time users on how to work the app. I attempted to create a website on Squarespace and in 3 days, due to app set up and glitches in the app, I was only able to complete a home page with a lot of difficulty. The app would often glitch and take long periods of time to load hence I turned away from using Squarespace and I am now using an alternative which works great!.Version: 1.83.0

App no. Website yes.If the app worked properly it would make my job a million times easier. It works once to edit something and the. You have to keep shutting down the app and hope you can keep editing. Most days I just give up and don’t update the website at all. Why am I paying to use a website that’s not accessible through their app. Please fix it so I can use the app like it’s intended to be used..Version: 2.7.0

Store alerts on iOSStore alert notifications not working on iOS. The notification settings button is just buffering and not turning on! Very frustrating as not getting any notifications when orders are placed. Have already reported to Squarespace but still not working. Please fix this!!!.Version: 2.9.0

Amazing FeaturesNeeds more organised in app features integrated with desktop abilities.Version: 1.87.1

No store notificationsNot getting notifications since the latest version update, and can’t turn on store notifications.Version: 2.3.0

Laggy and Buggy - iPadVirtually impossible to get anything done, browser doesn’t work and the app is just as bad. Laggy, in responsive and unable to do basic edits.Version: 1.85.0

Why have you broken it?The app was fine as it was. Now you’ve added an extra 5 mins every time I add a blog post. I use the blogs a lot, and they’re divided into different sections. Now everyone I add a blog page, I have to go right back to the start to add SEO stuff, and categories. So frustrating. Now looking for a different provider if you’ve also ruined the iPad app..Version: 2.38.0

Like the service, completely unable to update website from phoneIt’s such a good platform, and I rarely ever give crummy reviews... but it’s just so frustrating to not be able to update my website from a phone. I don’t have a computer, and it’s a big expense for me to make for just this one task. Can’t update forms, make changes, or send out email campaigns etc unless I go to a friends place to do it. I pay for the most expensive option on here without the ability to update my website which is kinda wild so I may start looking around at other website providers. Anyway, recommended for computer users, not at all for people that only have access from a phone..Version: 1.62.0

Love it in theory. Still bugs!Mobile editing (esp nav) is a bit of a mess, but otherwise I love the app..Version: 1.63.0

Squarespace doesnt know if they want the app to do everything or nothingWhen the app first came out it did the bare minimum. You really needed to use the website to get anything done. A year later the app could do everything and never needed to go to the website. The app was amazing. Now the reduced the amount of stuff you can do in the app and tell you to do it on the website. If the app can do everything, why not let it. The worst part is I only own an ipad and now I can’t do what I want on the app, which would be find but the website doesnt let me do it either. What im specifically talking about is something as simple as dragging a block. It cant be done because the app and website registers it as an attempt to highlight..Version: 1.48.0

Awful customer serviceSome of the rudest ‘help’ I have ever encountered. The site designs are indeed very nice, but unfortunately we aren’t all as technically minded as those who work at Square Space. On more than two occasions I’ve used the online support chat to try and get some assistance. Sadly I was met with what seemed like derision and impatience. Simply referring one to a guide over and over again doesn’t particularly help. The reason I’m there asking for assistance in the first place is because the guide has failed It seems to me that while Squarespace is doing well with their product, they could certainly benefit from teaching the techies about manners and customer service, because ultimately that’s what counts.Version: 1.26.1

Like it but….I like squarespace a lot, you can create a really easy to edit website. But…. the app is only ok. Every time I try to edit my website on it (I just want to move the text on the first pic on my homepage) it crashes (I’d deleted and re-downloaded it 3 times) I wish it showed a number in a red circle when you have outstanding orders, like when you have unread emails..Version: 2.10.0

It does not work with IPhone XSI have an iPhone XS and this app Does not work at all! I have tried to draft a new blog post, edit my post and add pictures- but was unable to do any of them. I can merely see the backend of my blog and the posts. Useless app.Version: 1.26.1

Loved it but now it's a painI used to really enjoy this app. It worked great but ever since the new update, I can't do anything anymore apart from adding or modifying products. I can't modify any other pages. Please fix this..Version: 2.0.0

Crashing issues with Gmail sign inThe app keeps crashing when trying to sign in from Gmail after the 2FA screen. The overall functionality is a very limited compared to the web version. Haven’t found it useful is managing my website on the go as I always have to ho back to bringing a laptop along.Version: 2.34.1

Great until this updateWent to open square space on my gen 2 IPad Pro this morning (it seems to have autoupdated overnight) and it’s just keeps crashing out. I tried a full reinstall and could log in but opening my site always causes it to crash. I’ve been a happy user of the squarespace app until now (not a perfect app but definitely usable), now I’ll have to go back to a laptop which will be a pain (there are somethings you just can’t do in the iPad web browser). Please reinstate the old version until you get this sorted..Version: 1.6.0

In the futureI change my mind I was so excited for this app and to finally start progressing It’s been a hinderance that the WRONG title of our company is listed Redirecting traffic to a likely fraudulent and competing organization The patentr company doesn’t lie though and that’s what makes a difference…. The service of this app is compatible with a homeless shelter 10 filed complaints and no response I’m losing drive and energy and literally wasting a ton of money No customer service? Really? Not to mention they scam you into losing access to email.Version: 1.89.0

Have to use for analytics view on mobileHaving to download an app just to look at basic analytics without even an option to continue on a web browser is ridiculous and unnecessary..Version: 1.34.0

Clunky and nothing works the way you want it toI never write reviews, but after an hour of using the app I am finding myself enraged from the inefficiency and clunkiness that I can’t help myself. Changes you should have to make once don’t actually apply, so you end of changing something as simple as the logo location 6 or 7 times before giving up. You close and open the app to see if that helps and the website wont load so you have to close and open the app a second and third time before it actually loads. And this clunkiness extends to many other workflows. If the simple mechanics worked without flaw it would be a really good app. But if you can’t do the most basic of functions, it makes it a waste of time. Horrible experience..Version: 1.44.0

App not goodUsing the app on my phone has been quite frustrating. Whenever I attempt to edit a section, issues arise such as the screen turning completely white or nothing happening when I click on certain elements..Version: 2.33.0

They don’t seem to want me as a customer.1) Removing Pages as one of the primary navigation options on the iPad app was quite inconvenient for me. The new functionality of Pages found in secondary navigation is complete trash. Painfully slow and unusable layout. 2) When browsing a gallery on a Squarespace website on an iPad, the page would bounce back to the very top in a spasm-like manner whenever you do anything other than scrolling down, making the experience very unpleasant. This is on any iPad browser. 3) They saw my review here and invited me to email. I did. Their service agent replied, telling me none of that will change and just use the desktop website instead. And of course, my feedback is very valuable to them. 4) I’d like to point out also that Squarespace is on the expensive side among competition. Beware. *) Original review as of version 2.0.0: Please bring Pages back as one of default options at the bottom.Version: 2.1.0

Waste of my timeLegit I don’t know how it works took me thirty damn minutes to find out how to put images onto the site I can’t even delete images from the site it just boots you into it with no tutorial, help, or advice whatsoever. this is a waste of my storage space..Version: 2.25.0

Terrible AppLiterally does not let me build and edit a website. Each time I click on a designated button, the app does not do anything, or just simply freezes. Tried updating my iPad, deleting and reinstalling the app, nothing works. There’s literally no function this app could provide, rendering it useless. I suggest to stick to the PC method..Version: 2.25.0

Buggy appApp doesn’t let me edit website. Tells me unsupported page type. Bit unhelpful when I’m on the move and don’t have my computer with me. Also slow and laggy, I hope improvements can be made..Version: 1.87.1

IPad ExperienceSquarespace stands out as an exceptional platform, particularly for individuals with limited website-building experience. Its user-friendly interface and accessibility make it an ideal choice for newcomers in the digital realm. One of Squarespace's greatest strengths lies in its ability to empower beginners to create and manage their websites with ease. The intuitive design and straightforward navigation streamline the process, allowing users to focus on content creation rather than grappling with complex technicalities. However, while Squarespace excels in many aspects, there is one significant drawback that potential users should be aware of. The functionality of the Squarespace app on iPad devices falls short of expectations. I only experience frequent crashes, prolonged loading times, and occasional failures to save edits, rendering the app impractical for efficient website management. I have a brand new IPad Pro with an M2 chip, so this can not be the issue. Would I have known how useless it was to design the app through the IPad I would have not picked this provider from my website. Looking forward to you guys fixing this..Version: 2.40.0

Very minimal functionalityWhat’s the point of having access to only the top 5 entries of each stat on analytics - for example when I’m trying to view how many units sold per product - it shows the top few products, you should then be able to click to view stats for all products. What use is analytics if it’s just limited to top 5, you still have to use a computer to complete most tasks? Hopefully it improves in the future..Version: 1.35.0

No store item updateI was excited that this app would enable me to edit and make store items. But it’s not available yet. Not sure what use it is then..Version: 1.0.2
