Great AppZach, love where you are taking the app! Street view is awesome for me. I travel a lot and the app has really helped me find places to fish! I have already used street view and it helps me locate where I am going!.Version: 4.8.1

Top Of The ListThis, without a doubt, is the best app out there for fly fishing locations and guides. I’ve tried them all. I’ve decided I’m willing to pay the price for this product. It’s being kept up to date and I’ve found that the developer really cares about his product and what people have to say about making improvements. So just reach out if you need to ask a question or make a comment. Happy fishing..Version: 4.4.2

Great app and awesome supportThis app is invaluable for any fisherman and a great tool to have in your tackle box. The support is awesome. I had some technical challenges due to my limited experience with apps and Zach was super helpful and very patient he got me squared away in short order. I highly recommend..Version: 4.2.0

Love the idea- couple issuesHey guys, awesome idea- I’m a senior studying CS and I am building a similar app just as a personal/resume project. Really well done, but I’ve got one issue and a few suggestions- My issue is that I can’t get stream gauges to show up on the map- maybe this is just a Colorado specific issue but that is the main value for me buying the pro version. Suggestion wise, the map is very busy when zoomed out and lots of filters turned on- would be cool to have some of the access points/ smaller points of interest disappear when zoomed out further, similar to how the map tiles re render with less detail. Let me know if you guys are looking for an intern (or in a year, another dev!). I love fly fishing so this is right up my alley. Great stuff guys! Noah PK.Version: 4.4.6

Detailed, intuitive and funI love this app. The stream details with access, directions and ratings allow me to scout new spots and revisit old spots I haven’t been to for years. And it is continually being added to. Only downside is it can be distracting if I open at work..Version: 1.6.9

Not worth $39Can’t reset password due to some software glitch with Trout Routes. The app doesn’t stay signed in and from some reason their program to reset PW doesn’t work. They also DO have Maryland.Version: 4.5.1

Good app, but why pay premium for public data? It’s well put together, but this is ripping off the state data. I understand the overhead required to keep an app going like this, but it seems like the professional version is the same as the online Trout opportunities interactive mapper (WI DNR), which is free. I see why you should pay a premium for a platform, but you should not pay for public ally acquired data. Regardless of this, I still appreciate the app..Version: 3.0.3

CANNOT OPEN - FIXEDWith latest update I am now able to open app. Can’t wait to get out on the water and use it. From what I have looked at, it looks great. Have had and used this app for months. It is very good. However, since updating to 2.2, the app will not open. I have removed and reloaded, but still will not open. I have an Apple 5S..Version: 2.2.2

Canada AccessThe app is good quality but having no Canadian maps really doesn’t allow for you to reach an audience of anglers who mostly or exclusively trout fish..Version: 4.7.11

It used to work great...I was introduced to this app at a Fly Fishing Expo about a year and a half ago. I’ve introduced others too it as well. It was one of my favorite apps. Unfortunately, with one of the last updates something changed and I can’t open it on either of my two iPhones (6S and an iPhone 8) operating on the most updated operating systems. I would definitely subscribe to it, but now I can’t even open it. Hopefully, this is something the developers figure out soon. Hopefully, I can start using this new version, someday..Version: 3.0.1

State I'm fishingHate this. Every time I open the app when using I have to search state again! It used to stay in the state you're in till you search elsewhere! I'm not purchasing again! Update it has been corrected and I love it again!.Version: 4.5.3

1st day ReviewI used TROUTROUTES today for the 1st time in VA. Last night I spent a few hours saying the maps and getting to know the application. I’m a nerd & where I fish has no cell service. This app is amazing! You can set it up for offline use! Bonus! Furthermore, I know my local streams & rivers well. This is spot on. The data is there and accessible. I wish I had this a few years ago. Would have saved a lot of scouting time! Keep up the great work! I will add notes to the areas I know can use some additional notes. I know this might be a slippery slope to go public with tho…. It could get abused..Version: 4.2.0

Trout RoutesPersonally, I have not had any real complaints about the app. I find that it is user friendly and relays accurate gauge information. The easements and access areas have been pretty spot on. I what would be cool is integrating what some streams are stocked with or when they are stocked based off of state DNR websites. If the app was free I wouldn’t expect it, but as prices creep up more features like this would be cool. Like… where can find those greenback cutthroat… lol -Will.Version: 5.0.4

Great SupportI made an error in setting up my account and testing the free trial of the Trout Routes service, but after a call to their support number, I received an extremely prompt call back from Zac who was very kind and understanding and helped me resolve my issue right away. We had a great chat on the phone, and I could tell immediately how passionate he was about this project. I’m excited to see this app/service develop moving forward. Support like that in the startup world is hard to come by..Version: 4.2.0

Game changerI have been using TroutRoutes for awhile now. App is very accurate in terms of easements. It is a huge help in searching for new waters near home to try. Love the geolocation that lets me know exactly where I am on a stretch of stream. App doesn’t catch trout for you (😢) but it sure helps pick water to fish and help me find it!!.Version: 2.3.0

Easily best app for fly fishing for troutLove using this to find new trout water. Very convenient to have all of the stream data and access points combined with stream gauges and other tools. If you’re into fly fishing, highly recommend!.Version: 5.0.3

Finally, an awesome map for Midwest streams! Get it!Have had the app for about a year now. They now have offline maps, and have started to add other unique features and other states beyond Midwest. Well done, and very simple and easy to use. Use this app 9 times to 1 compared to Gaia (better for my uses) but thanks for the great app!.Version: 2.2.2

The best in the game!I mean it wholeheartedly when I say this app changed my experience of fly fishing. As someone who’s gotten into the sport recently, I never really knew where to go. TroutRoutes changed that. The user experience is so smooth, and their design is visually pleasing on all sites. I recommend looking at their social channels as well. Top notch crew!.Version: 4.7.0

Fly Fishing MustReally good app to have with you when planning a visit to a new state or area. I live in CA and used this on a 5 day trip to Colorado. App did a good job of informing me of private water, places to go and what sections of river had special regulations..Version: 4.5.1

Fantastic for traveling trout fishermenLove this app, I use it all the time for quick access to check stream flow rates locally, and when traveling it is invaluable for finding streams to fish with great details on stream classification, easements, and access points..Version: 4.2.2

Worth Every PennyThe Trout Routes team has landed the perfect app for anglers of all levels of expertise! The team, including my brother, have worked hard to deliver the optimal app experience, allowing you to spend less time searching and accessing the perfect spot and more time catching the perfect trout!.Version: 3.1.1

Trout fishing paradiseThis app is incredible! Conditions, regulations, flow rate, river access, camping and lodging just to name a few. It gives you all the tools to be a traveling fisherman and scout out of state places to maximize your time when you get there! There’s never enough time to fish when you travel from another state but this definitely helps you plan out your trip!.Version: 5.0.3

Awesome AppOn a recent first time trip to the driftless area of Wisconsin this app saved us so much time and frustration. We were able to pick a spot we wanted to try and the app lead us right to it. If you are a traveling fisher OT looking to expand your home area, get this app! Worth every dollar!.Version: 4.1.1

Helps Guide Me to Public WaterI have only been using it for about a month but have found it quite useful in excluding trips to small creeks with limited or no public access. On the other hand, it has drawn my attention to a few blue line creeks that had heretofore slipped under my radar. The ability to put private notes at a certain location (such as what worked under what conditions) or drawing lines on maps to mark routes and trails more boldly is a great tool for later trips. A lot of thought has gone into how to make this useful for fisherfolk. Kudos to the creators..Version: 4.7.11

Rendered uselessThe revised site is apparently by subscription for any useful information. That’s fine with me. But there are no instruction about how to convert a basic service into something meaningful. The Manage Account icon is worthless . I would pay if you told me how.Version: 2.0.0

A must haveAbsolutely love this app. I fish in Wisconsin’s driftless area where there’s limited cell service at times. That means no maps, etc to help orient to where you are. TroutRoutes must be satellite, tho I’m no tech kind of guy. No matter where I’m at, I can see in real time as I move upstream. Then add in that they show parking, easements, even limits….as that changes from stream to stream. I could go on and on. Suffice to say, TroutRoutes rocks! Thanks guys.Version: 4.5.3

Will be a 5* app WHEN THEY....I downloaded the trial with intent to purchase then I read the details about only being in 7 states. I deleted and cancelled free trial. When they get North Carolina and Georgia I will prob buy it...unless something else comes along before they do. If you live in those 7 states you should consider purchasing..Version: 3.0.2

Very accurate!I’ve only had pro version a short while but it is zeroed in on private vs public waters very accurately so far and helped get me to some great waters! I’ll continue to use in the weeks ahead to see how it does on other streams and creeks. Two thumbs up so far!.Version: 4.2.1

Awesome appThis app is one of my all time favorites to use, it’s so easy to find little hidden fishing spots that people don’t go to. The fact that the fishing regulations are available based on what stream you select is one of the best features about this app in my opinion. You can find small trails, primitive camp sites, and small honey holes. Paying for the entire year is a bit steep, but I’m still rating 5 stars. 👍🏽.Version: 4.7.11

Brief descriptionOverall the app is good. Only thing I would like to see is a distinction between resident streams and lake run. In New York several streams are listed that only hold fish in the spring steelhead run. One in particular is bone dry 6 months a year but is frequently loaded with steelhead in February and march..Version: 4.6.1

Absolute Game Changer!I REALLY love this app. I was using several different fishing and hunting apps to find new spots, look at flows, and find oat ramps. This one app does it all. I was hesitant to even write this review because I kinda wanted to keep this secret all to myself, but this app is just too good not to share..Version: 4.4.6

Great App for fishing and moreI am new to to Trout fishing and picked this app up at a FF Expo in January of 22’. It has been a God send in providing really useful information for locating streams and how to easily get on the water. I love knowing where private/public property lines are and the ability to add notes to locations I’ve fished. I also realized there are mapped public trails for Michigan State Parks which I like to hike so it serves a dual purpose for me now. Keep up the good work..Version: 4.5.3

Great app, need to add Oregon ASAPAll worked great for showing access points and easement in Wisconsin Driftless area. Even worked surprisingly well without service. I love the app, but am disappointed that Oregon is not covered as it is where I fish most of the time. I hope you add my area soon! If so I’ll be re applying to the pro account..Version: 4.1.2

Awesome app that keeps getting better. This app gives you comprehensive info on the trout stream opportunities in the U.S. it works great for planning an adventure and broadened my base of the general hydrology of an area that may have hidden opportunities and just as important the access points. The developers / support peeps are very proactive in responding an/or updating anything that my need tweaking. Well worth the subscription to help you explore a new area or better understand a current one. Love the ability to annotate your own notes and mark where you have been..Version: 5.0.7

Really excited about the App until I I couldn’t find California info in there 😔Heard about the App on WildFlys YouTube/Insta. Immediately downloaded only to find no info on California. It looks great but it’s missing the west coast. Also didn’t realize how much fly fishing there was to do in Wisconsin. Lived there for 12 years and never picked up a fly rod🤦‍♂️ Please add Cali, Arizona, Utah and Idaho. I’ll help you collect info if I can!.Version: 4.2.0

Great AppAfter more than two years of use I can recommend this software for the states currently loaded. I use it often at the PRO subscription version. I have used it successfully for WI, MN, IA and find it invaluable. Questions or issues with the software were promptly answered or corrected..Version: 4.5.3
