✓ Don’t do itOut of the thousands of apps I’ve downloaded over the years, I’ve maybe left two reviews. This being one of them. Stay clear of this app. I wanted to try it out. Seemed like a decent idea. When I only got to a couple hundred dollars in, I decided that it really wasn’t worth the fee to Invest and was essentially losing money for using the app. So I requested a withdrawal and was just going to stick the money in another account I use. I requested this withdrawal over a month ago. There’s no reason, in this age, that it should be taking this long. None. Everything’s Instant now. They are stealing your money. ✓ Didn’t recognize my credit union... couldn’t fund accountsI’ll at least give them 2 stars for ease of download and set up of account. I wanted to take advantage of the $10 bonus they offer for funding same day and when it got to the routing number, it didn’t recognize my credit union. I tried multiple times and then went to the help section... expecting a live chat... I submitted my issue and then received a response that I had to wait 24 hours for a response. No live help. ✓ SCAM!Scam, I initiated a withdrawal 2 months ago and to close the account, sent them bank account info and everything they requested. 2 months later and money is still in securities in account and they are telling me I am getting a paper check. Why would I send my bank account info for a paper check? Why would it take 2 months and counting to sell and send a check? It take 5-7 days to sell stock and receive a check through my Edward jones account. ✓ Great app but what happen?I was searching for investment app and came across this cool app. I opened an account for my son and future daughter. Deposited money and was monitoring my account. One day i updated the app and everything disappeared and it won’t let me login. It sets me up to start over and open a brand new account. I’m lost and confused. ✓ Grossly Incompetent Support Team with ID verificationI had submitted my passport, driver’s license, and SSN card multiple times in this app and have made sure that the photo was clear EACH AND EVERY one of the 7+ times I submitted it. However, on the SINGLE instance that the photos were approved, the support team contacts me later to say they rejected it. This was after I expressed my concerns about the ID verification with them previously and experienced long wait times and they had little to say. If they ever verify my account I will update this review, but until then I have to stand by my recommendation that this app is HORRIBLE due to grossly incompetent customer service. ✓ Charges fees before finished setting up accountI opened this app and started setting up my account. I got to a certain point and had some questions and wanted to do more research before I finished setting up the account. They charged me a $3 account fee even though I never completed the account setup. Now I can’t delete any of my info without completing account setup, which I don’t want to do. Have tried contacting company at two different email addresses listed on their webpage as contacts for support. So far no response on one and a delivery failure on the other stating invalid email address, which I clicked on directly fro the site. Update: to UNest regarding your response. ✓ Worst appThey will not respond back when trying to make a withdraw. I’ve been trying to cancel my account and invest through the company I work for to save for my son college fund. However, after three failed withdraw attempts and no one responding to calls or emails. I still haven’t been able to close my account. And they are pulling money. I called my bank to put a stop on all withdraws trying to be made by UNest. By far the worst investing group/app ever. I do not recommend. ✓ Can’t stop deposits. Random bank activity.This app is simple to setup and has a lot of potential. My gripe right now is they randomly stopped my auto contributions, made a random deposit into my bank and then pulled the money back out over a week later. There is no notifications. They offer no control to stop contributions. No phone number for support. While I am looking for a simple solution for my daughter’s college, this is too simple right now. ✓ Very limitingI signed up for this app because they claim to find the best college savings program for your kids. My hope was they will give me options to choose from. But they automatically signed me up for one of their programs and started withdrawing money from my account immediately. I wasn’t even given the option of choosing when the money should be withdrawn. I emailed them and requested a cancellation which they said they will. And I received a refund for that transaction. However they continued trying to withdraw money from my account even after I requested a cancellation. Had to put a stop payment with my bank to prevent them from withdrawing from my account. ✓ Poor customer serviceI heard about this through my sister who set up this for her daughter. I then did so for my two sons. Unfortunately, the gifting option is not working. I set this up on November 22 and the gifting was supposed to take one to two business days to activate. It is still not working. I sent an email last week with this information to UNest. I have heard nothing. Today, December 6, it is still not active. Not sure what the purpose of this app is if you are looking to have family and friends give towards your child’s education versus purchasing toys or buying items on in app games for the holidays. ✓ GarbageI was looking for a turnkey, innovative, solution to begin saving for our new born’s college education. I’ve experienced error after error just trying to get through the onboarding experience. I’m in banking, and financial technology, myself and found this proposition to be highly interesting on paper. It’s too bad the technology and general onboarding user experience are not functioning. ✓ UNestThe best and the worst thing about 2021 is that we have the world at our fingertips but when things go wrong we can’t get a hold of a real person to talk to. UNest went from a 529 to a UTMA. I was not made aware of this change by UNest. Wishing I could talk to a live person and not email but hey… whatever… it’s just money. It’s not like it’s important or anything. ✓ Unintentional account creationI came to know about this app from a you tube video and guy said you should check it out to see the options, do the comparison etc. I thought of checking it and was proceeding through steps thinking it will take me to the page where I will be able to see how to do the comparison etc. but I got a message your account had been created and it was asking me for bank information but that’s not what I wanted to do. ✓ Good concept, poor executionI signed up for this app a while ago. I’ve had to contact customer service for multiple deposits. Even though they claim to be automatic, they aren’t processed until I contact customer service. This makes me scared about the withdrawal process. I’m currently seeking other options. The gifting option seemed awesome but when j reached out about it before COVID, I was told “hopefully within the next two weeks” they’d launch the gifting feature. Seems like overall, this company is slow at getting things done. That’s not how I want my money invested in my child’s future. I want it done at a certain time. ✓ So soI like how easy it was and watch the progress of my Daughters account. I tried the rewards link and purchased a few things and have yet to see the rewards hit the account. I reached out and customer service assured me they have it on their records and will be posting to my account soon. It’s been 90 days now and have yet to see any rewards.
