✓ Potential!I really liked following and using this app during the crazy cicada season this Summer 2021! Now I wish the exact same thing would be used…. A mirrored app…. All about sightings and getting counts of the increasingly (beneficial) invasive species… the JORO SPIDER! Please and thanks! 😁 Checking back in. With all the Joro spider on the East Coast talk that is going on, I’d love to see a version of this app made for tracking sightings of Joro Spiders as time progresses 2022 and beyond. These things will invade much of the US. Having a reporting system would be amazing!.Version: 1.7.5
✓ Making progressThe sign up/sign in with Google or Apple feature is broken, rendering the app unusable. Update: the developer responded the next business day to advise that the sign in issue was resolved & I was able to use the Apple login option - thanks! Today, the current sightings map is slow to load. Also, it seems that the the app scaling is a bit large for the screen making it a bit difficult to click buttons at the edge of the screen (iPhone 12 Pro). Aside from these issues, this app is a brilliant idea and definitely worth the download. I hope to begin contributing photos soon!.Version: 1.6.8
✓ What it offers is good, but I wish it offered moreThe app works great— no major lag or errors that other reviewers seemed to have, so they must have fixed those problems. The closest thing I’ve experienced is when I’ve scrolled 500+ pictures deep and it takes a little longer to load (but still not enough to bother me). I love looking at the map to see what photos people have taken, but I wish there was more to it. Perhaps introducing minimal social media aspects such as being able to favorite photos or follow people who post near me. That being said, I am really enjoying the app for now..Version: 1.6.8
✓ Fear turned to fascinationCompletely dreading the upcoming brood x, I decided to face my fear of the swarms head on by preparing myself of what to come. I downloaded this app in the hopes that it would tell me where the most cicadas were but opened doors into a genuine fascination of these lil critters, so much information I never knew! Once shuddering at the thought of upcoming events I’m now looking forward to it! Can’t wait to catch my first pic of the cicadas! Who needs Pokémon snap when we have real life Pokémon snap!.Version: 1.6.8
✓ So much potentialI heard about this app from a podcast, ologies, and love the idea! I haven’t had any of the issues mentioned by others so far, but it is still a little clunky. Understandably, the app is does not see “finished” which is fine despite being about 2 years old now. I would really love to see some updates cleaning it up a bit. I am excited to see how it is once more cicadas start coming out and more people start using it. I’ll update my review as I go :) - When you first sign up you then have to log in, it would be great if just signing up logged you in.Version: 1.6.0
✓ Good with a few quirksVery informative. I like the idea of knowing when the Cicadas are getting close to my area. The app has a few shortcomings. Though we are told Cicadas are arriving in our area in mid May, photos have already been posted here on the map. I see no way to determine the date the photo was taken. Also when I select a photo, I’m taken to a black page. Lastly, the back arrow is very temperamental. Good effort though..Version: 1.5.9
✓ The app is buggy - no pun intended 🤣I’m a devoted cicada enthusiast, excited to contribute my photos and videos to the Cicada Safari app but for the last ten days (since emergence started in NJ on May 15) the app has not been accepting or uploading my photos.... they seem to be in limbo, awaiting emergence onto the map! I would love some guidance on how to get my photos approved, or are the developers just too overwhelmed with the Brood X emergence happening right now to fix the app?.Version: 1.7.4

✓ Enjoying So far…But it would be nice to have an idea of how long it takes for photos and videos to be approved. I get that folks may have a lot of work going on with this, so perhaps just putting in some additional info in FAQs or something so we know how long to wait. If users feel like their efforts are just going into a void, they will likely stop tracking or find another app to use that’s more “responsive”..Version: 1.7.4

✓ Nice App But More Attention Than Cicadas DeserveIt’s nice, it’s simple to use, and it’s informative. Even though I can’t wait until these buggers go back to where they came from I do admit to being fascinated by them. I tried entering my location from a remote location but the app insisted on using my phone’s location services and wouldn’t let me edit it. I did post a photo from that same location so I hope they use photo data before placing my cicada on the map. Nice that they review things before posting them. One last thing. I have not found a way to contact anyone about the app. That would be a nice feature to add if it doesn’t already exist in the app. Otherwise, thanks to the developers for such a neat and timely app that I can use and also share with my primary school age grandkids..Version: 1.3.4
