Adobe Photoshop for Positive User Reviews

Good appThis is honestly one of the better photoshop apps out there. I look through them a lot and none of them are as detailed as this one. It is overall a great game but there are a few things wrong with it.Version: 2.4

Promising start...but pricing? So far I’m liking the app. True, it’s not in parity with the desktop Creative Cloud version of Photoshop. It’s pretty suitable for my needs. (Though I do look forward to smart object compatibility). Pricing will make or break Adobe’s presence on my iPad. I’m fine paying for a subscription but I encourage exploration of bundle pricing or lower cost pricing. As it stands I feel I have to decide between Fresco or Photoshop (each $9.99) —and then apparently Illustrator is around the corner. I’m assuming that will be another $9.99. I implore Adobe to make these products cheap enough that I don’t need to decide. Look at Apple Arcade —everyone I know feels that Apple made that a great value. Thus I’m paying for Apple Arcade even though I don’t play that many games. BUT it’s inexpensive enough that I don’t think about it. Or Microsoft’s model: for $6.99 a month you get the entire Office Suite and 1TB of storage. I’m not saying Adobe needs to go that low but you can see how that kind of pricing is very inviting, especially to amateur hobbyists..Version: 1.0

Great for suing my friends as a jokeThe other day i edited my friend robbing a bank then i sued them and now they have 14 years of prison 🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🙊🙊🙊 so funny :D.Version: 5.4

It’s not workingI tried to login and I was faced by a white screen with a picture up top and I cannot draw or view my art I’ve tried to login and out and delete it and downloaded can you please help me and I pad the subscription (it’s a great app BTW).Version: 1.6.2

Getting ExcellentWhile Photoshop for desktop is still required for complex work, I am increasingly finding that Photoshop on the latest generation 13 inch iPad Pro not only is capable of 95% of my image creation needs, I actually am enjoying the way desktop functions have been reinterpreted to suit the touch interface. However I do use the Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, and have the increased RAM of the 1TB largest screen current model iPad. My old 2nd generation iPad Pro would not have been able to handle the increased file sizes I use, and it would drive me crazy to be trying to use Photoshop on a smaller screen. But on good hardware this iOS version of Photoshop is a delight to use as a creator making illustrations, graphic design, and photograph editing. I also like that Adobe is communicating clearly the development path for the software. I remember when Adobe first developed for iPad the apps were a bit of a joke. At some point they woke up to the fact that users were rapidly migrating to alternative iOS software and not using the poor Adobe apps, and from that moment they got serious about canvasing user needs, and their current crop of apps are getting to be really useful, and I am proof of a migration back from alternatives to increasingly using the Adobe products..Version: 3.6

More hands on tutorials please! The hands on format is great. Loved learning tricks with it on the desktop version. Please bring more to the iPad version..Version: 4.8

So cool 💜I really love this app. It’s a great way to photo shop and I highly recommend it. Although it could be a little better I’ve been using it for years and it has never failed me..Version: 2.7.2

This is a very poor relative of photoshopIf you are looking for a full blown up version, just ignore the iPad app, which is a trimmed down imitation of the original, despite the adverts claiming otherwise. It may be that one day it will become competitive with the desktop version, but right now it is just in its infancy. Sadly photoshop doesn’t embrace the intuitiveness iPad provides, and is not a competitor for other graphic apps such as Procreate , concept etc. Adapting the desktop interface doesn’t work on touch screen device, and other apps have made much better progress and gained enormous popularity because their philosophy revolves around touch device and do not just imitate software ,which was originally designed for desktops, mouse and keyboard. So innovation wise I believe this is a step back which is a bit disappointing..Version: 1.0.2

It’s really good! And improving with every update!Honestly, I’m genuinely surprised by how well this works on the iPad. Adobe have done a great job with this, and it’s improving with every update. I don’t really understand how so many people are upset with the app. If you’re an Adobe power user you’ll see the appeal. Being able to edit layered files on the go, which then sync back to PS on the desktop is such a god send. I’m hoping that layer styles will be added soon, and in reality I’d only give the app 4stars at the moment, but I really want it to succeed and I’m sure it will, so I’ve future proofed my rating to 5 stars, lol. I’m a full time graphic designer working on publishing projects and am able to design 85% of my book cover commissions on the iPad now. Adobe, if you need a beta tester - let me know, lol! 😃.Version: 1.2.0

Great for on the roadAs more and more functionality is added it allows you to work away from the computer then synch up to the desktop to finish off..Version: 2.0.3

Great appMust have.Version: 1.3.1

Works greatI have been waiting for photoshop to come to the ipad ever since it was announced. Now that its out I can say that its a great app, yes its missing a few features from the desktop version but thats to be expected. Also I will say that the subscription is pricey but thats the same with all adobe products these days so I'm fine with it. Final Verdict - don’t get this app expecting it to be exactly the same as the PC photoshop its not and if your not already paying for adobe products I wouldn’t pay the monthly fee for this app its probably not worth it for you..Version: 1.0

A promising startDespite the majority of reviews, I’m happy and impressed with the Photoshop app so far. While the features are limited at this stage, they are sufficient for my needs - cleaning dust spots from photographs, cloning and basic selections using the lasso tool. Obviously the lack of RAW support isn’t great but what I do is open them in Lightroom to make colour corrections, and then open directly in Photoshop. Only other main thing I would need is the path selection tool, and the blur/smudge tool. If you’re not already subscribed to Adobe, then maybe hold off until the app is further developed and features what you need. I am happy Adobe but I hope you keep on your promise to develop further, and address the key features needed by your users..Version: 1.0.2

Loving this app despite some issues I ran intoRevised Version 2.0.1 Review Thanks to the response of my initial review for this version, after deleting the app and then re-installing it, all of the brushes were restored. Finally, it’s now usable once again after stressing out over this for a couple of days. Version 2.0.1: Brushes nonexistent and useless without it This latest update pretty much makes it unusable because the brushes are no longer available. And to go along with the delayed support for the M1 chip on the Desktop version makes it a double whammy for me. Being a user of Photoshop for 5 years, I’ve never been so disappointed than ever before. Original Review titled “PSDC Files nearly deleted after update” I really enjoyed this app until I updated to version 1.6.2. What happened after updating was all of my work in the past versions was offloaded, which is fine to free up space on my iPad, but it also almost deleted all of my work that were stored in folders. Luckily they were moved in the recently deleted folder and I restored it all as soon as I saw it. But imagine if all of my work was permanently deleted as a result of an update. A hard chew to swallow, but I’ll backup my work as regular PSD’s on my computer after this near-chaotic experience I encountered when using this app..Version: 2.0.1

It’s greatThe app is perfect for doing all of the little things like drawing in those little gaps, however it is not as good as the computer version and you’d be much better on a surface pro or something similar.Version: 1.2.3

Photoshop on iPadI may have given my first review a little early. After spending more time with the app I have grown to love its ease of use, what is there is beautiful. It lacks some key functions like the ability to sharpen, circular gradient fill to name a couple but hopefully these will be here before long. I urge you all to stick with it and work with what’s there for now......... I agree with most that this is a disappointment from adobe. This should have been a test release and not a general release. What is there works very well, but what you get is very limited. If you get this as part of your creative package then great, but certainly not worth any payment on the app alone..Version: 1.0

Each little update gets us closer to full fat photoshopSo we have to be realistic this still isn’t the photoshop experience a seasoned desktop user is used to. But don’t write it off straight away. If you are willing to try out some workaround workflows I think you will be surprised at what is possible now on the iPad. I think the update that everyone is waiting for is the ability to have more adjustment layer options. Which thankfully Adobe have said, isn’t too far off. But in the meantime, you can always work around these options by using the light room for your colour edits. And Photoshop, for your detailed retouches of selections. Although to be honest give it another year, I think we might be on the verge of a more fully featured photoshop app. Fingers crossed and shout out to the Adobe app developers, for always listening and prioritising new features, creatives crave. While ensuring they are fine tuned for an iPad experience..Version: 4.3

Great App for editing but some minor issuesThis is a great app for editing but some issues that I have encountered, Firstly when I tried to open the app it kicked me out straight away, So I started to reset my console and still did it. So I hope you can fix this or it’s just my console. From: Me.Version: 4.3

Pretty goodThough not quite as functional as the desktop version of Photoshop, this version has most of the features that the original has. And most importantly, you can translate artworks from Procreate directly to Photoshop. Just press “save as _____ images” (changes depending upon amount of layers) and export manually as images into photoshop..Version: 1.4.1

Does not workI bought the free trial and I get nothing. All that happens is a black screen which I can’t use, every time I go into the app it brings me to the billing screen. Do not buy.Version: 4.5.3

No this isn’t garbage it’s an amazing first versionFor a first version this is very quick and fluid app, it’s really easy to see the original frustration, but after about an hour this app has become very useful, I can see the real functionality and approach to quality on this app over just quantity, I’m not saying stop here, if you go like your going this will replace Photoshop for Macs because it’s easier to use touch and you can use the Apple Pencil for precision tools and of course this app isn’t perfect yet, but its also very new..Version: 1.0

You guys have to fix.I don’t like doing this because I love Adobe, and to me the project when functional is complexity worth the coast, but the crashes in the app are way out of hand. I advocate Adobe and this product fully, but the instability and the length of time this app has been crashing is making it hard. I cannot get any work done at all. It crashes when I pretty much use and tool, and my project isn’t open long enough to even sync my saves to the cloud. I had been waiting for an update for a while now, so I was extremely elated to see a new up date, only to be solely disappointed that as soon as I updated and started my project again I had abandoned, the app crashed again. Please make fixing the app a priority! I don’t want my loyalty to waiver. Thank you!.Version: 1.2.0

It’s awesome why all the hate?I know some folks may feel a little deflated about the lack of features in this release but honestly let’s look at the positives, first the layout , Adobe have made the transition from the desktop to the iPad Pro very intuitive it just works and is a great experience to use, you are able to forget about the program and just concentrate your project and being able to pick up on your desktop where you left off on your iPad is just awesome, you can work on projects on the move and jump straight on the desktop when back at the studio. Sure there are features missing which will com in time but none has touched on a big positive in my opinion, for those folks who are not fluent in photoshop this a great way to learn it really from the ground up, using the basic tools on the iPad which are powerful by the way and understand the way it works is huge and can only help them get to grips with it all and as and when new features are added they will grow as it grows, I am super excited about the future of this app now Apple has finally made the iPad Pro worth using with there latest updated OS..Version: 1.0.2

Not quite what I expectedI have jumped ship from 30 years of Windows to an iPad Pro. I thought that the iPad Pro would run a full version of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I was wrong!! The iPad seems powerful enough to handle so much more than the programs are offering..Version: 3.6

The reviews are slightly underrated in my opinionThis is a great app and I think as the development continues it will only get better with time! The fact that I can open large PSD files is a win for me. The tools that I’d like to see on the iPad app would be all the filters and layer styles. These are a must for me, I found myself feeling very limited without these tools. If all the tools from the desktop app are transferred to the iPad over time, I believe this will be the best piece of artwork Adobe has ever made. When Photoshop Touch first came out I was so excited for the possibilities and now I’m more excited than ever because this is the closest it’s ever been to a full desktop experience for iPad. I want to thank the developers, please know that I’m happy with the efforts you all are putting into this project and please don’t pay any attention to those who are writing negative reviews. Keep up the good work, I’m impressed with everything so far and can’t wait for the next updates to come!.Version: 1.0.1

The release could have been handled better, but the features in v1 are well doneAs a product manager and designer myself I do sympathize with this kind of reaction to a major release. But it wasn’t unavoidable. It was waaaay easier to spend the last year thinking that an iPad version of photoshop that had feature parity with the desktop version was coming. Many of the outlets reporting on the announcement left out the caveat about v1, and even the official Adobe announcement article only had a single bullet point mentioning it. Most people who read about it walked away with the impression of “full” and “real” photoshop, not “a limited feature v1 that will grow overtime”. From an announcement hype standpoint that’s fine. From the standpoint of expectation setting, that was precisely what led to the blowback currently manifesting itself as one star reviews. The optics and narrative mistakes of the whole thing aside, what y’all have shipped in this v1 is really solid. It’s obviously limited in functionality, but everything that did make the cut is smooth, easy to pick up with knowledge of desktop photoshop, and just feels really good to use. If future functionality is added with the same care, I’ll very much look forward to trying it out..Version: 1.0

Great, but missing key features…It’s brilliant to be able to edit images in Photoshop on the iPad, and what it can do it does reasonably well. It’s not too steep a learning curve either, if you’re used to PS on desktop. Unfortunately, though, it’s very limited compared to the desktop version. I guess that’s to be expected, but there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to sharpen targeted areas of an image at the moment. Some of the filters I use regularly are not included either. Perhaps I will find a way around it, and there are signs they are working on extending the features it offers, but - for now - it’s definitely not a desktop replacement…for me at least..Version: 3.3.1

Steep learning curveUse photoshop desktop. This version is excellent for learning new techniques and playing around, once you have learnt something go back to the desktop version and try it there. Found this method worked for me. would also recommend a metapen or apple pen it takes editing photos to a new level..Version: 5.4

Not the best version. On a Mac you would expect this to have all features. Does not have subject selector lasoo for straight line select. Example if you want to cut out a triangle using the lasoo tool, you can’t do that. Also opacity for a layer - either I haven’t figured out that yet or they have hidden it somewhere. Different to the other versions of photoshop on pc. Etc..Version: 1.5.0

BuggyI cut my teeth on PS when Gods' dog was a puppy so I was excited about using it on my new ipad pro, 4 stars is all you get until you listen to your public & fix the bugs & bring in the features you left out...my biggest complaint is TEXT! its so buggy I had to delete everything & uninstall the app which still didn't completely fix it, please pay attention to what your customers say not your bean counters, take folks concerns to your programmers, ta.Version: 3.5

A year with photoshopIt is just over a year that I have been using Photoshop on my iPad and it suites me fine. The quality of line in large scale drawings is first class much better than the desk top. Working between the two is easy and although people complain about the lack of tools on the iPad version it works well for me. Good on you Adobe keep up the development..Version: 2.4.2

Great for a mobile device but missing key desktop featuresI would not 100% rely on the mobile version of photoshop as its missing a lot of key features however it’s perfect for tasks that are fiddly with a trackpad. I find I can do the fiddly stuff completely fine with the Apple Pencil then just open it on my mac to do the things the app cannot. To all those complaining that this app isn’t good enough, just buy a Wacom instead..Version: 1.3.2

First week bluesI’m giving Adobe a chance, first few day are bound to have mixed reviews, when you consider what’s out there to edit photos on the iPad ,its a very good app, over time more updates will improve it. Im giving the free trial a go, 30 days is ample time to try it out and decide if it for me ,and if Im disappointed then I will cancel my subscription before trial ends and it wont cost me anything. Well done Adobe ..Version: 1.0

GoodVery easy to use, even more than the desktop version. I would imagine for hardcore Photoshoppers it might be too simple, but I can’t personally tell. It has a lot of functions that I have not even explored yet, so it could very well be pretty robust. I have used it for a few projects as a student to create concept art, character sheets and the like, and it has worked just fine. I’d love a way to draw straight lines without having to use a real ruler though..Version: 5.1

Great, still work to be doneIt includes most of the things available on desktop Photoshop, but don’t expect it to have the same versatility. A couple of tools and options that are extremely necessary for me, ( like the smudge tool and art boards) are unavailable. I get that this app is still in development but I still have to use my desktop for certain tasks which is annoying. Otherwise, it’s an app with amazing pen capabilities and great opportunities..Version: 1.5.0

Lots of glitches but I still like itVery odd things happens like all the time, can’t import the photos.....I don’t know how to fix it other than installing...so frustrating.Version: 2.0.3

I love rajendranI had a problem with my account but a person called Rajendran fixed it and was so helpful and nice. Give him a raise. So if you are worried about anything just talk to him.Version: 4.8

Awesome!!!This software looks awesome and it has professional to offer some proud service!.Version: 5.2

Very good, more features please! It’s really good, and for anyone just starting to edit photos it’s perfect, for Pro’s it’s lacking some key features that may be relatively new to the full version, but that have come to be a big part of my workflow for studio and wedding portraits. First and foremost is the content aware crop tool. If that could be added it would probably become my go to for editing a lot of my everyday work..Version: 3.2

Amazing, actual real photoshop on a tabletI didn’t realize until I got an iPad today that they had ported the real photoshop over, but this is amazing. It’s not quite as refined or as capable as desktop PS, but the most essential features are there, it generates real PSDs and was able to open a few of the odd PSDs I’d already had saved to my CC account that were created on desktop. There are a few areas where it even feels nicer than desktop, namely being able to pinch to zoom so smoothly. You don’t mind the floating UI bits because it’s so easy to move the canvas around them, even on an iPad mini it works very well. Further refinements are certainly needed, but there’s no denying that this is the real deal. I don’t think it will replace desktop for anyone yet, but in a pinch, it’s excellent. Just like an extra-portable camera, it will shine the most in settings where you wouldn’t have had the full experience available. Definitely looking forward to seeing more features and quality of life refinements..Version: 2.0.1

Finally on iPad!I’ve been using Photoshop since 1990 and I still have the floppy disk for the officially branded Adobe Photoshop version 1.0.6. The negative reviews are both unfair and in some cases inaccurate. Yeah, I don’t like Adobe’s subscription model either but they didn’t have to add an iPad version to keep their subscribers. If anything, they took a huge risk opening themselves up to the expected comparisons to Procreate and other competing apps that are one-time purchase. But let’s be honest here guys, those apps are not Creative Cloud just like Apple TV+ is not Netflix. Did you guys even try this app for yourselves on iPad? It’s actually really good and is an excellent interpretation of the desktop app that changed graphic design forever. Watch the tutorials. Don’t listen to the critics. This app wasn’t built to convince new customers to pay Adobe $50/mo. It was created as a free gift for their massive customer base already paying..Version: 1.0.1
