Has potential but glitchesI downloaded this app to try with my 8 year old and got it all set up for her return home. I explained the new app and how she can earn coins by going on quests which are simple tasks. She was really excited to give it a try but the app kept shutting down. We thought it might be a memory issue so deleted some apps but it still glitches and shut down. We were unable to show her the app after picking her egg. There were also issues writing the pets name on my sons device. We were super excited and very disappointed it didn’t even last 5 minutes. My daughter was very upset..Version: 3.36

It is too much money80some thing for an app.Version: 3.53

Disappointing!!My kids love this!! But I’ve now verified 7quests and now if I want to continue have to pay over £80!!!!! I’m on low income and both my kids have loved this. It’s the only thing that’s actually been helping both of them, especially my youngest who has always struggled with things like this, and now I have to take it away from them. Why not keep the basics of the app free, then any extras etc to pay. Even just to do a month subscription would help!!!!! Yet another app that promises so much, just to find out it’s all about money instead of helping people.Version: 3.53

Don’t Do ItAll the ads promise the world, and app ends up being so basic. I thought would be perfect for my ND gamer kids but they are so bored it’s no motivation at all! For the money it cost me $80+nzd I was expecting a better faster app and just more to it. So disappointed..Version: 3.73

Great app, expensive subscriptionI think the app is great and straight away my daughter is running around the house to complete tasks. She does not have ADHD. I feel like the price point of the subscription is way too high and if parents of ADHD children really are struggling to handle them, the app seems to be taking advantage of that vulnerability with the price point. I would happily pay £30 a year for the app but not £85.99..Version: 3.41

NOT FREE APPOnly free for 7 days and only told that after adding all your personal information.Version: 3.19

£86 paGreat little app, really engaging for kids but £86 per year is just not doable for me unfortunately..Version: 3.29

Habitica but tamagotchiI am the kid who uses the game part of the app, but I do know it is subscription based. I wanted to ask the devs if they could make it a one time purchase so it doesn’t become too pricey for parents. For parents who want to get this and the other part for their kids, I would recommend if your child is a bit lazy or if your kid doesn’t have the motivation, but the amount of money you’d have to pay is too expensive for me to not worry about my mother’s finances. Overall, it is a good game that helps motivates kids, but it is expensive. Habitica is a lot like it, but your kid doesn’t have to actually confirm they did anything, so it would be pretty useless if your kid lies. This app has you approve it, but costs money. It’s the lesser of two evils anyway, so I’d recommend for ADHD parents (like my mother) or parents who just struggle with getting their kid ready to be a good member of society. Overall, would give it 5 stars if not for the fact it costs money. (P.S. if you think my wording sounds like an adult, it’s not. I just have a stupidly large vocabulary.) Bye!.Version: 3.98

Pseudo-science.The unsuspecting parent’s nightmare: an app that promises to be ‘the only parenting app you’ll ever need’, is crammed full of jargon and ‘frameworks’ (which focus on conventional child development and pop psychology but conveniently nothing on gamification and tech engagement) and showcase a smiling team of ‘experts’ with plenty of letters after their names. Despite citing esteemed academics such as ‘Chan & Zuckerberg’ 🤨 the reality is that there is precious little, if any, evidence from clinical trials that proves that gamification has any ability whatsoever to build long term character strengths or healthy children. There’s much more evidence of the damaging and addictive effects of tech, screens and notifications on child development, in particular contributing to attention and social skills deficits, plus nothing to suggest that gratification-based apps cultivate a long term propensity to develop skills and expertise. Much as we’d love it to be so, you can’t gamify your children to healthy development. Put away the emperor’s new clothes, turn off notifications and trust that you don’t need Meta’s snake oil to be enough for your kids..Version: 2.98

Doesn’t workHi. We entered all our details, then it sums up your plan and you need to enter your email and password. Problem is, you can not enter a password when using an ipad. I’d love to be able to use this app. Can you fix the bug. The character you get to chose as the parent are pretty random as well. 3 odd looking characters..Version: 3.70

Great concept. Very glitchy.Keep freezing. Kids have to close and reopen app. Sometimes won’t load just goes to black screen. Hoping the glitches are fixed bc the kids love this idea..Version: 3.29

NoWhen I first downloaded this was when everything was free but then when we had to pay for a subscription everything changed. I don’t think there should be in app purchases in this app..Version: 2.97

There should be a free versionMy family were using this happily for many months, the kids loved caring for the digipet as their’reward’ and were proud seeing all their achievements listed… til one day “mummy you have to pay”… Home schooled family on a budget, I wouldn’t have downloaded it and let my kids come to rely on it if I thought this would happen… Shame on you 😞.Version: 3.07

Cashing in on desperate parents!! SHAMEFUL!!How dare these creators put such a RIDICULOUS price tag on helping CHILDREN with a disability! Apple should BAN this app!! To charge $140 up front is crazy! I’m a single mother with absolutely zero help with my ADHD child who also has ODD and I’m desperate for something, anything to help! So I was so excited to see this app…..as usual then came the catch! $140 when you don’t even know if it will help! Most kids with ADHD struggle with focus and staying with one thing (my girl never plays the same game longer than a week as she gets bored) so no way will I be paying an annual fee. To the creators shame on you!! No better than scamming the elderly over the phone! Perhaps something more affordable and also a (low) monthly fee will show people you’re doing this for the RIGHT reasons and not just to scam poor desperate parents. Makes me sick! Needless to say I’ve deleted it.Version: 3.58

Large fee after only a few days trialReally optimistic about trying the app so signed up. Stalled at the “one week free trial then £85 a year” That’s quite a commitment after only a few days to see if it works. Either extend the trial period or give the option to pay monthly for the first year..Version: 3.46

Great potential in this appMotivating and interesting for my kiddo that doesn’t have any other video games but I think in time it will get a little boring if the game doesn’t add more features. Right now the features that are accessible are feeding the pets and purchasing some costumes and plants for the land. She has accumulated 5 pets rather quickly but hasn’t unlocked any other lands (it says she has to purchase a pass, but we don’t see a pass). More challenging games and movement between different places would add excitement in the future. The ability to add and customize quests is great and the parent portal is intuitive and easy to use..Version: 3.73

Not freeMy kids were enjoying this so much but after so many months theyv added the monthly subscription and unfortunately due to financial issues we arent able to go ahead. Such a shame...Version: 2.92

Good but...It's a great concept and a nice app. However, for our son, it was great at first but the novelty soon wore off. Possibly our fault for not pushing it enough but it's frustrating that you have to pay for a full year. Be interesting to know how many kids are still using it daily after a year..Version: 3.46

SCAM!!!!!!!!This app takes your money off your credit card even after you cancel the trial. Not happy and hope that they refund me otherwise they leave me no option to contact consumer affairs..Version: 3.37

So close to being greatThis app has certain features that we love and we’ll continue using it for those features (the flexibility and clarity with the tasks or “quests” allows us to set very clear goals, adjust all settings like amount of coins it’s worth, set reminders, timers, etc. And the ability to set our own rewards that she is actually interested in earning). First of all, the graphics are HORRIBLE- reminds me of a gigapet from the 90’s. The 3 options of pets are ugly and weird, all the accessories for them are also eh, my daughter has no interest in playing the game part of this app. If it was cute fluffy animals, even lost a cat or dog, she would use it. Also it’s so complicated and difficult for us to figure out how many coins she currently has- I can’t see anywhere from my parent account and even in her account it takes some clicking and searching. But that’s the most important thing to her- to know how close she is to having enough coins to get the reward she’s working toward..Version: 3.80

Not free and need expensive subscription to continueDon’t download for your child unless you can pay the expensive subscription. It only allowed my child to do about 5 quests before not allowing them to do anymore making the app pointless and frustrating for both child and parent. Please don’t download unless you get the subscription… I can’t stress it enough.Version: 3.70

Subscription serviceOnly asked to subscribe to the service after entering information and then unable to delete your account..Version: 3.29

ExpensiveAs an adult with ASD and ADHD I was hoping to try this recommended app to help me with tasks.. however a $115 paywall? Absolutely not.Version: 3.29

NOT FREEIt said it is free but it is not it is $300 and over not good at all.Version: 3.36

Love itI really love this app and so do my kids but if you do the free version you don’t get to do all the tasks and to be able to do more you have to pay which is really expensive it’s nearly £100 for the year (no other options) which is way to much for a single person on benefits to pay for when we are struggling as it is, maybe if they did a monthly subscription it would be better as then we can choose to pay for the month and then you can stop it if it’s not working for your child anymore ( just a thought) but for me I will be looking for something else that does the same but doesn’t cost the world sorry..Version: 3.73

CrapExpensive crap.Version: 3.67

Joon reviewPretty good! A bit fiddly for the kid, but a good tool in the ‘motivation toolbox’ for adhd. You have to try it out really. Every kid is different..Version: 3.68

NopeApp glitchy on my sons tablet-screen flashes, too expensive, also couldn’t create a user name to use most of the functions after several tries, cancelled subscription in less than 24hrs.Version: 3.76

Amazing appI’ve recommended this app to my mummy friends as it’s so amazing encouraging my child to compete takes and have the responsibility of taking care of a pet. He now has 2 things to be mindful off. Complete bf his set tasks and ensuring his pet is taken cared of. I wish the app has more fun things the kids can do with their coins instead of just games and food. It would be great if they could buy cloths and toys for the pets which will allow the child to have creative freedom and interact with the pet more then just feeding washing it and giving it love. Having the little pet garden is great allowing the child to decorate it with the flowers and rocks and trees but it would be great to be able to build things like little houses for the pet and have the beds and chairs tables etc again for creativity. Another thing that would be amazing is if the pets can be customised by the kids changing the colour and some features like changing the wings, head shape or tail shape to really make the child feel that this pet is their own creatures therefore loving it even more. That’s why I gave it 3 stars as the app is good at its current state but there’s definitely room to make the app much more fun and interactive for the kids. I love the link between parent and child profiles and having to verify the tasks is a great add. I would be better if the extra step of the child having to collect the point every time was removed and the points add automatically when the parent approved the task. I really hope the developers see the reviews..Version: 3.40

Can't get past the welcome video!!Worked great on my end, my child cannot access the app, the welcome video plays on repeat, and the little "x" doesn't work!.Version: 3.29

So expensiveI don’t know why apps are getting so expensive… £86 a year…. RIDICULOUS.Version: 3.30

Not worth the moneyGood ideas to help children with ADHD, features locked behind a subscription of $140 a year. Absolute joke. Get a reward chart and a Tamagotchi instead.Version: 3.34

Awful!!Froze on loading screen, with message saying no internet connection so I am unable to unsubscribe- rip off!!.Version: 3.29

OverpricedAs always as soon as you create an account they want you to subscribe for a hefty 140 per year. Don’t know how good the app is because I can’t afford that ridiculous price tag..Version: 3.34

Be aware - expensive!£85 a year!!!!.Version: 3.67

PriceyThis was a recommended ad via Facebook. We decided to give the free app a try. Spent a long time logging small daily tasks for both boys. App won’t download onto one son’s iPad properly. Cannot complete more than 4 chores without a subscription. I understand the concept of “in-app” payments, but don’t advertise as a “free app” if we cannot even use the basic task functions. What a waste of my time..Version: 3.53

Not free didn’t manage a day before child was stopped from doing any more tasks.I don’t leave app reviews but I need to stress to those who are struggling with their unique child and on a low income don’t download! They only let you do a few quests before they stop the child unless you pay for the over £80 subscription. It’s disgusting, nowhere do they warn you of the limit and so you get your child excited and then boom your the bad parent who chooses for the family to eat or have electricity rather than pay for a subscription to something that may or may not work long term. Money grabbing opportunists who don’t care they are causing parents issues with children who are already challenging as it is..Version: 3.29

Not workingEvery time I try and set up an account and log in, it says something has gone wrong and bricks itself..Version: 3.30

Good app, Some bugs to be fixedSo, there were quite some glitches. One of them being that settings for tasks were constantly being changed on their own. Some examples of this happening are tasks moving out of the order I put them in, being duplicated, or the children’s names in a task being duplicated (which is not possible to do even by mistake), and once, under numerous tasks, the setting for needing a picture before completion was turned on when it wasn’t set up that way previously. Besides these issues my kids really love the app and I do too. If it weren’t for the problems, I would’ve rated this app with five stars. It made setting my kids routine and having them follow it independently a lot easier. It also made it very helpful for my son who, has ADHD, and is usually very forgetful. They looked forward to completing their tasks, and even doing chores to earn their coins. And I like that you can set your own rewards and cost for the children, however it would be better if they could view the rewards the parents set from their own app. Another suggestion., Would be to fix the Joon pet app for kids so that we are able to refresh the screen. Many times I would approve quests, or correct issues from the bugs, and my children would always have to close down the app and reopen it to see the update..Version: 3.59

Expensive and glitchyThe subscription doesn’t show up in my subscription list but they still took the money out (even after being assured that only 1 parent needs to pay but charging both parents). A good concept but very expensive and glitchy to use..Version: 3.23

You need to pay a stupid amount of money, would be no starsThought I would try this for my son, he loved the pet but after 3 quests you cannot do anymore without paying £86 a month. A complete rip off, we are struggling as it is, and just wanted something that could help our family. The developers could have left the basics free and then subscribe for more advanced things, but No instead I now have to remove it from my son, thanks for the distress caused, stop being greedy and give families in need a break..Version: 3.29

Great Concept! Would of been great if it wasn’t so glitchyWorked great until second day when my approvals on tasks weren’t sending the kids their tokens, my daughters app was stuck on loading for the whole second morning. Great idea but I WARN if you are using to assist neurodiverse children, this app is not ready and will not meet the expectations you have explained it will to your child. Day 2 was horrific!.Version: 3.69

PriceyThis is too expensive for struggling families. get your child a Habitica character and you can make a guild for your family. Habitica is great for adults too. :).Version: 3.67

How do I get the parent codeI do not get how you are supposed to find the parents code but I was really excited about it but now I don’t understand it..Version: 2.99

Can’t pay monthlyLoved the idea of this app, but I don’t want to pay yearly. I want a monthly subscription like my other apps I have. Too bad because this seems interesting..Version: 3.70

3 minutes and they were boredThis company offers a 7 day trial, but you have to put in credit card details for the $140 a year subscription. 7 days for a single mum with 2 hyper boys is barely enough time to get it set up and see how it goes. I canceled the automatic subscription in 7 days and it cancelled my trial. They kept emailing offering an annual discount, I asked if there was a monthly fee I could try it for one month, they said no, then emailed a few days later saying yes, provided I took the offer within 24hrs. Go it all up, but as suspected my kids got bored with this in no time at all. I’m talking, within 5 and 10 minutes they moved straight to their other games. I suspect they are aware this can happened and why they push the larger annual fee instead of letting people pay monthly from the get go or offering a slightly longer trial..Version: 3.46

App doesn’t workGets stuck at subscription page.Version: 3.19

No Monthly SubscriptionGreat app.. for the most part. my child was only motivated for a month and a half at most, and since I saw the app working I had purchased a subscription.. which is a year long since there is no monthly subscription. basically paid 1 years worth for an app i have used for less than 2 months. quite a shame. Seems like a money grabbing tactic since I am sure most users will have a similar experience and not end up using the app for longer than a few months. im sure because of this they will never release a monthly subscription since that wont make them enough revenue..Version: 3.72

Not a “family” ADHD appSo this isn’t a family ADHD app as advertised. It is an app to make your ADHD child complete preferred tasks, tasks set by (probably) NT parents. I see how the novelty could motivate an ADHDer for a short time. The tasks set by these (probably) NT parents appear as *quests* for the ADHD child to overcome and accomplish. As an adult with ADHD, I see how the *quests* could trigger enough dopamine for an ADHD child (or me an ADHD adult) to complete. That dopamine triggered by novelty will probably drive that ADHD child to achieve the dictated *quests* for perhaps a few days. The *quests* will lose their novelty factor very quickly and stop triggering dopamine. Once the novelty and the dopamine reaction wears off, the *quests* will no longer be effective. The app tells you that this is THE solution for managing an ADHD brain, but that is untrue at best, and a bare faced lie at worst. I am middle aged and have struggled with ADHD that whole time. My child is teenaged and has struggled with ADHD that whole time. I believe these years of experience to be factual and insightful to those parents who don’t experience ADHD, and have an ADHD child. This app isn’t the solution it claims to be. The solution is to build momentum, not insist on motivation. ADHDers cannot experience motivation. The only way we can achieve multiple tasks is to build momentum. Make “momentum” your go-to word, and just pretend “motivation” does not exist. It isn’t a real word and it doesn’t mean a real thing. I, as an adult ADHDer, have to build momentum. I write my list for the day and always start with the easiest task. Sometimes that easiest task is just to fill the kettle and flick it to boil. The next easiest task would be to make a cup of tea. Next easiest could be to arrange the cups that need washing into one place. These simple tasks that build momentum may be tasks that NTs manage without even thinking. It should be easy to boil the kettle and make a simple cup of tea, right? You would probably make that cup of tea and balance your whole financial income and outgoings at the same time. No. It just isn’t that easy for us. We simply CANNOT function as expected. We can’t. We will destroy ourselves with thoughts of inadequacy because everyone else manages triple our maximum achievements. That’s inevitable, BUT if our parents accept that we are disabled and just boiling the kettle exhausts us, we grow from a place of acceptance, and that inevitable feeling of inadequacy is lessened. So, anyway, don’t use this app if your child is an ADHDer. They cannot possibly achieve with it for more than a few days. Instead, just accept that they are disabled and cannot achieve as much as you expect, of as fully as their same aged peers. Be a good parent to your disabled child. Do that by seeking knowledge and insight from adult ADHDers. We’re the only voices that count. Don’t immerse yourself in groups that consist of NT parents of ADHDers because the see our differences, but they cannot ever feel them. Good luck!.Version: 3.17

Profiting from your compassionThis app has an astronomical price tag not justified for what it does. The game is pretty poor and does not keep anyone’s attention. It has been made for profit and not for compassion. Try the free version but make sure to cancel. The lack of anything other than an annual payment speaks volumes..Version: 3.44
