✓ THIS IS A SCAMMING APP, DO NOT BUYI bought a whole year, took about 10 photos, and still get the pop up telling me to upgrade before I can take anymore. I cannot ID anything, with my annual subscription. ALSO, I clicked on one month just to see what happens, and they charged me. Even tho I already paid for an annual subscription, it charged me for one month. I will be getting a refund and then I will subscribe to a different app called Seek, so much better and more user friendly..Version: 1.6.5

✓ Useless without subscriptionThe description indicated that “premium features” would be available with subscribing or paying a fee. However it seems that premium features refer to getting more than 3 uses out of the app. I used the same plant for 3 submissions to see what it was, and it gave me 3 different guesses—none of which were correct. I tried a fourth time using another picture and was not able to use the app anymore. The free version of this app seems only useful if you want to identify a plant 3 times in your life. And even then, the identifications were all wrong. I’m disappointed and deleting this app from my phone. I’d like to know if I have to pay to get use out of an app. Then I can make a decision to pay or not..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Was good, don’t botherNew to plants & loved (past tense) the plant diagnosis option. After taking 3 photos the app gave diagnosis of possible issues and a quick concise suggestion to treat the issue. Now the treatment button is a link to a Wiki page or some other plant page to read a full article and try to find the needed info which may not even be there. Some pages make you watch an ad of 1min or so to get to the content you may not even need. It was good, now it’s a huge waste of time. ✓ Great app but you have to pay. A lot.At first I thought I could have at least limited access and that it was optional to pay. I was allowed maybe 3 free identifications. Was very impressed! It takes you to a Wikipedia page. Seems very accurate. Now the app is demanding that I subscribe. I keep hitting a pay wall, requesting $4/month or $30/year. Yowch! I’d be happy to pay a (reasonable) one time fee to “purchase” use of the app, or a more reasonable annual fee (like apps that charge $5/year), because I think the app is awesome, but not $30. Even most magazines, that are mailed to my house, only cost $10/year. If they charged less, they might get more subscribers..Version: 1.6.2
✓ It’s a trap!No prior info to the end user that this APP will stop making identification unless payment is made! This APPS abilities are superior but whoever has set up their switch-and-bait tactics has never heard of honesty. So sad to see they represent themselves as a free service only to deceive! Had they, upon opening the APP, stated that one had 3or4 free identifications so the user could make sure their claims to be accurate and then, after that trial, a fee would be applied, I might have later signed on and paid. ✓ Pushes UpgradesWhat I liked about this app is that it accurately identified two plants that 3 other apps I tried got wrong. It’s user friendly & has good advice. What I didn’t like (& why it got 2 stars) was that after about 5 pictures, it bombarded me with upgrade prompts that I couldn’t get around. I may have wanted to upgrade in the future, once I’m sure I liked it, but it won’t ID anymore for free (I ID’d 3), so I’ll never know. Too bad, I liked what I saw. I’m deleting it now. ✓ Not Free with in App Purchases as AdvertisedThe moment you open it a pop up appears you have to buy or subscribe and offers no basic and free features. No free trial. Yet when I searched for “free plant identifier” this was one of the top results. Why? I get you want to be paid but some of us are happy with a basic/free service until we can afford to pay or try it first to decide. You could have had advertising with a free service. We’d be happy ti use it, the right targeted advertising (garden/outdoor products) could help you make money as long as it’s not overdone. Otherwise this looks like a great app. It caught my eye and certainly looked good to use. I’m sure it is. If I ever can afford to I may use it, although the way I found it was off putting. ✓ Not accurateThe worst point about this app is that it is inaccurate. I tried plants and flowers that I knew the species (a rose was Identified as a Rosa was the closest it got) and this app is wrong. The second bad point is that if you use this app more than once or twice, it just takes you to the subscription page where you pay or leave, losing your snapshot. I wouldn’t have a problem with this if it had said, “free trial, subscription required”, but it says free in the App Store. The next day I tried it on a tree in my backyard. I tried it twice on the same tree and it gave two different identifications! ✓ Plant Identifies General Genus but not varietyI am looking for an app to help identify all the varieties of Hosta in my yard I don’t know the names of. This app does identify them as a Hosta every time but does not tell me the variety name it is. For example Hosta ‘Sum and Substance’. I even tried paying for the membership to see if more information was provided. I tested on Hosta varieties I knew all came up as “Hostas, Plantation Lilies, Giboshi.” With 70 species of Hosta and 3000 varieties this app won’t narrow your search enough. Additionally to learn more about the plants the app directs you to Wikipedia. Overall it Identifies the plants but don’t pay extra for this app in my opinion..Version: 1.3.2

✓ Fix thisI love this app and have been using it for several years. Now, every time I take a picture, it takes me to the subscription page even though I have an up-to-date subscription. It won’t identify any plants and it is not usable. This looks like it’s a known error, as there are reviews with this issue a year ago. I would think that this would be a priority to repair. ✓ Some problemsUnfortunately I have a hard time with this app. 8 out of 10 times it doesn’t work. Instead of identifying the plant it prompts me to purchase the subscription. I have already purchased the subscription. I’ve tried clicking to purchase it again and it tells me I’m already subscribed. So I go around in a circle trying to identify the plant while the app simply prompts me over and over to purchase it even though I’ve already purchased it. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it. ✓ Cannot identify common plantsI don’t remember when I joined but I paid when I joined and then later , don’t know how long , I paid again. Therefore I think I am paid for 2 years. NOTE: plant identifier I have taken several pictures of plants I did not know their correct name and they are not in my collection. There was : Spider fern , false clover (inOxalis family ,Mexican Bird of Paradise , coreopsis - several varieties. Pic not in collection. On the Corepsis- all came back as Marigolds. There is a big difference between Coreopsis and Marigold leaves !! There are a few more that I can’t remember that are not in my collection. I was so excited to get this app as we are into gardening snd always looking for different plants. We have 2 now that we don’t know what are. I hope in the future you can help us more identifying plants AND LEAVE THEM IN MY COLLECTION page. When I take pictures on this app, the picture does not go to “my picture camera roll” so I then lose them. There is one I really want to know about but your app did not register it snd it is not blooming yet, I have some unnamed cuttings !! Thank you and I await a reply with an explanation of why my collection pictures are not there and also what to do when you mis-identify what I sent.
