✓ Kind of hard to hear what the computer is telling you to type! 🥺I do not really much like this app, it is really hard to hear what the computer is telling you to type in. For example, one time it said eight but I thought it meant like ate like I ATE food. So this is kind of hard and medium is usually my level for any word learning game, but when I did easy, it was still pretty hard to hear what they were saying. And sometimes I didn’t even know what they were saying, like scientific words...Version: 1.65

✓ I like this App, but some improvements would make it 5 starI only use the Spelling Bee part of this App. I really like it and find it relaxing. Some improvements would help: 1. On opening Spelling Bee and going to the level I want, it would help if I didn’t have to scroll down through hundreds of games to get to the next unplayed levels. 2. The game is frustratingly slow to play because it takes so long for the letters and words to update. I could play much faster than the game allows. 3. It would be nice to know how many words there are in total at each level and the number of words I’ve found. 4. When I look at the “words missed” it’s almost all obscure words that no one would think of. I think the total number of words that can be found should be based on common words. ✓ Worst word app ever madeThe app Audio doesn’t work 99 times out of 100. When the most basic functionality fails to work it’s not even worth 1 star rating I gave. If I had a option to give minus 5 stars then this app definitely deserves one. Emailed customer service too not surprisingly no response even after a week. When u pay so much you expect it to at least work. Even the features are poorly designed. I wanted was 9 yr old son to prepare for spelling bee competition and he was really disappointed..Version: 1.65
✓ Not very goodI think this app is not very good it dose teach you a bit but you have to pay for access to each category and I don’t think that’s fair to the people getting this app I think it should all be free because we all deserve to learn.Version: 1.65
✓ My ideaThe pronouncing is so hard to tell what they are saying? Some of the word you will never use in your life. I really hope that someone could make the pronouncing more clear and the words more useful..Version: 1.65
✓ Voices are UnclearUsed it for my 10 year old and the voices are far too hard to comprehend. You are left trying to understand what is being said and not testing spelling. The voices are robotic and cut of at the wrong places..Version: 1.65
✓ This may be good but I cant tell...This app shows promise, but I can’t get much without paying. And I would consider paying, except that it won’t tell you how much it will cost until AFTER you give permission to buy. ✓ Upgrade not workingI paid for the upgrade and after a couple of days it’s not working. This is very frustrating for my son. I tried restoring purchases but it keeps saying use the same Apple ID which I am both on the iPad and in the App Store. It shows purchase under that ID’s purchase history yet I cannot used what I paid for. Can someone please sort this out - I don’t have any contact info for whom to contact regarding this problem..Version: 1.65
✓ No no no!I’ve got a few issues with this app. First of all, this is not grade level whatsoever and who chose these words? Nobody uses these words! Bodhran? Beurre? Moiety? These were from the 7th grade list. Second of all, there should be a wrong answer limit and the answer should be given when those are used up. It currently has no limit set which means you will sit there and input literally every letter until it’s correct. That is incredibly mundane and frustrating. Third of all, it defaults to level hard and you cannot change that. The only good thing I can say is that I enjoy the options to choose from: by grade level, by topic, by game, or by fill in the blank. Lots of options!.Version: 1.65
✓ Terrible AppWanted this to create word lists for my child to learn from. Unbelievably badly designed format for inputting words. Each word has to be done individually and processed individually which is very slow going. Why on earth you wouldn’t be able to dictate or type and input the whole list is beyond me. Furthermore once I had inputted the list and begun practice with my child, the app promptly. Rashes after a few minutes and the list was lost… Was this designed by beginner developers???.Version: 1.65
✓ Audio is HorrendousThe audio is terrible. I’m a native speaker and I still have trouble understanding what they’re saying. For example, it sounds like they’re saying “at” but they’re actually saying “that.” If a simple word as “that” can’t be recognized then I can’t imagine what more complex words. ✓ Hard to understand + not grade appropriateLove the idea behind this app and the way it is laid out. However, the words are: 1. Not grade level appropriate. I had to do 2nd grade words for my 4th grader and they were still too tricky. 2. The voice-over that pronounces the words is difficult to understand. They say the word very fast and do not enunciate properly, which is important for a spelling lesson. Unfortunately had to cancel my subscription due to these things, as it rendered the app virtually useless for my child..Version: 1.65
✓ Words I don’t knowI’m an adult. I thought I would have a quick go of the app before letting my daughter use it. I got stuck on a multiple choice word I’ve never heard of and got one out of three stars score lol. So I don’t know how my child is meant to benefit from it. ✓ Garbage for younger kidsPerhaps premium would be better but there is almost no content for free. My daughter is 8 and behind in spelling. ✓ Hopeful but disappointed!!At first - this app appeared to be everything I was looking for. I need to be able to upload and manage my own Spelling lists. That way - kids can practice again and again on their own along with self-testing. I was so excited as I thought this was one less thing for me to be involved in as their homeschool educator. Unfortunately though, I have uploaded several lists and after a few days… the lists just completely disappear. I have tested this out and with every list it is the same thing. Once inputted or uploaded, the lists should allow management functions such as edit or delete. (But they just vanish) This is extremely frustrating as time and effort was spent inputting many spelling lists. As a former application support specialist, I am pretty system savvy so please advise if there is something that needs to be tweaked on my front end. But by all appearances this seems to be a back-end issue..Version: 1.65
✓ Sounds/Voice effectI still cannot listen to any of the words… I double check my phone, volume is on, all apps work properly with sound effects. I reinstalled the app and still not working. I pay a lifetime usage for one of my kids to practice for spelling bee but it make no sense if we cannot listen to the words….Version: 1.65
✓ Like it, but have some suggestionsI got this for my daughter to help improve her spelling. The games/activities are great, however the words by grade level are definitely not age appropriate. I have been a teacher for 15 years, and the words this app uses are very difficult and obscure. The words by grade/age definitely need to be re-evaluated. Also, the audio portion of the app can be difficult to understand. It would be great if the app also had an audio feature that said the words for the multiple choice and fill in the blank games. Since the words are so obscure, even I am just stabbing in the dark sometimes guessing what the word is supposed to be. This app has the potential to really be great, but needs some tweaks here and there..Version: 1.65
✓ Won’t allow you to try a new gameI like the game in which you construct words from letters in a circle which must contain the letter in the middle. But after a while crocodile you hit a limit as to how many words you, personally are able to construct using these letters. Would be nice if the game would allow you to proceed to another game, but it seems hellbent on you finishing each and every possible word combination using those letters before allowing you to play a new combination, which most people are not going to be able to do. So you’re basically stuck at the third level and cannot proceed to another game. This is stupid, please fix. Not everybody is a walking dictionary, and the objective here is to learn and have fun, not be punished for not arriving at all possible combinations!.Version: 1.61
✓ Paid version keeps wiping custom dataPaid for this app for our kids. We loved it for the custom apps helping them with their school sight word and spelling practice. But then it started asking me to purchase it, which I already had. I hit restore and none of the custom lists came back. This has happened multiple times and I don’t want to redo all that work every time the app has a meltdown. Very poorly designed to wipe the data so often when the app has an issue. I want my, not insignificant, money back but Apple states I have no purchases eligible for a refund. Very disappointed parents and kids..Version: 1.65
✓ Could be betterGood things: various levels of difficulty. Dozens of letter combinations to solve. Not so good things: app keeps crapping out. I have to “restore purchase. The last time this happened, all my previous work at various levels vanished. The developer does not state which broad categories of words are acceptable. I see that proper nouns, abbreviations, cities, selected foreign words, and highly technical—perhaps even specially used words in science—are among the acceptable words. Some of the layout is clunky. ✓ Not testing spelling but hearingI purchased this for my 2nd grader. Words asked to be spelled aren’t used. Narrator talks so fast and muffled you cannot hear. They also use some words that are homonyms so you can pick o e version and get it wrong so it’s discouraging. I’ve had this now for 15 minutes and would like a refund. ✓ Audio needs to be clearerDownloaded to preview before giving to my kids. It’s hard to evaluate without purchasing because the free version is so limited, but based on the practice mode I decided not to purchase (and will be deleting). The audio of the words being spoken was so “computer voice” that it was difficult to discern the word sounds. I think that for this to be really useful for a kid they’d have to be familiar with the words being “spoken” already. That’s fine if someone’s practicing spelling of known words, but it doesn’t allow for practicing broader spelling concepts and applying those concepts to unknown words. iow: in the free version you have to 1. listen to the word, 2. try to figure out what the word is from the audio, 3. type in the word, 4. be right or wrong. If wrong, you can’t know in the free version what the word actually was and whether you got it wrong because you don’t know how to spell the word or because you *may* know how to spell whatever the word was but you don’t know what word it was supposed to be..Version: 1.65
✓ WasteThe words are too obscure for elementary school and as far as i can tell, there’s no option to use my own lists in the games. Spent a lot of time uploading my child’s spelling lists and she can’t even practice them. The app only lets her use the randomized words. What a huge waste of money..Version: 1.65
✓ Great! But Audio MissingTwo years ago, I used this during lock down and it had a ton of bugs- which they’ve worked through to make this the best spelling app ever. Except there’s still one bug hidden inside the “Make Your Own List”. The Audio doesn’t work. You make your list- the games work for practicing your list, but once you go into study mode there’s a headline and a box with a blinking cursor with three options below- “Audio”, “Options” and Something Else. When you click Audio- nothing happens. You have to hit “Options” to get a definition which if you know what it is then you can try to spell the correct word. Hopefully the developers will keep working on this piece..Version: 1.65
