Plexamp for Positive User Reviews

Exactly what I wanted!Awesome app for us audiophiles..Version: 4.1.0

Awesome app in the insane age of subscriptions. The app and the whole of Plex platform is golden. App works well and has all the required functions.Version: 4.3.0

Solid player once you've put the effort inTakes a bit to get going when you want to use it as mobile music player for your collection of music. Only thing missing is some form of whole house music control..Version: 4.6.1

Really great personal cloud style musicI’ve been a fan of Plex for years, but it’s never been good at music, until PlexAMP. Now it’s a great music app. And I prefer to use local files, rather than relying on company servers. Here, the music runs off of what you have stored on your computer. You can use your computer as a server so you can stream to your your phone anywhere, or you can download the music to your phone through your app so you don’t have to use data when on the go. The only complaints I have are that the downloads and streaming from your library are treated as such separate entities (it’s hard to explain)..Version: 4.5.0

Remarkable balance of design and powerThis player achieves what no other player does—it’s gorgeous and easy to use but allows the user to explore the metadata and rich library with great power and speed..Version: 4.3.0

Beautiful Plex Music app finally! This is a beautiful app and a great way to finally be able to browse my Plex music properly rather than using the main Plex app. The visualizations for the Now Playing screen are cool, and kind of a throw back to the old school days of playing music on your computer with iTunes or Winamp. I love the built in “radio” stations especially the “Mix Builder” which allows you to create a shuffle of your own music based on similar artists. Plexamp is smart enough to know which artists to suggest from your library as you add them, which ends up creating a great mix. After seeing the developer comments on some of these reviews I do see there is a way to browse all artists, albums, etc which is to click on the header “Recently added music” then click the ... icon in upper right. From there you can browse by artist, album or track with a variety of sorts available as well. If I had one critique of the app it would be that is not very intuitive to find. I would never have figured that out had I not seen the dev response. Another thing that threw me for a loop was making sure I was on the right music library under Settings>Source. I was on my audiobooks library instead of my music library by default. It might be useful for there to be a little guided setup tutorial when first signing into the app? Anyway, all in all, a great app and I’m super excited to have it!.Version: 3.0.0

Excellent, but needs more polishPlexamp is a natural addition to anyone who uses Plex for music, and it almost hits the mark now that CarPlay is available. The interface is easy to use and intuitive, and there are enough app settings to customize it to your usage scenario. That said, CarPlay is still a little dicey; it launches well after a recent update, but it doesn’t consistently connect back to my library properly, despite the app itself working fine. I also had a weird issue where music was stuck streaming at a very low nitrate, until I restarted the session. It would also be nice to be able to update tags while in the app, but that’s probably more of a Plex thing. Regardless, I’d still highly recommend everyone with Plex to give it a try. It doesn’t need to be perfect to be a very good app!.Version: 3.1.1

AWESOMEThis lets me play music from the Plex app and download it! Actually comparable to Spotify :).Version: 4.3.0

Excellent but needs repeatGreat app, supports FLAC when locally connected, great visualizer, and clean. It NEEEEEEDS a repeat option though. It is an insanely simple option to add to bring it in line with every other music player available (aside for dumb streaming “radio” apps that don’t let you do anything but skip forward). These are my files and I should be able to listen to them EXACTLY how I want to, and if that means listening to one album or one song over and over, then so be it. Especially since I have a 6 year old son and often times it’s him that wants a single song over and over. I can’t do it with Plexamp. It is the only reason I take off a star and the only reason I don’t use this app exclusively on every platform. Because I can’t be bothered to look down 6 times to start the song over when I’m driving him to swim lessons, it’s not safe. It would be utterly perfect with a repeat option. It is astounding they haven’t added it yet or why it would EVER be left out in the first place. Please fix it and you’ll get 5 stars. 10 stars! 100!.Version: 3.2.2

I have some suggestions.Excellent and beautiful, especially for local libraries. New “sonically similar” integration is marvellous! Tidal integration is good, but my library loads very slowly and often not at all. This is particularly weird since the Tidal app is very fast. Queue for Tidal in Plexamp also doesn’t work as expected. For instance, I can’t play half way through a Tidal playlist and it plays from that song onward. Instead, it plays the song I selected then goes back to the top of the playlist. Shuffle also doesn’t seem to shuffle all songs in the playlist..Version: 3.7.0

Works seamlessly!!Set it up during lunch hour at work and it just works perfectly. Player looks great and the sleep timer alone is worth it! Hopefully they'll add better lock screen support for ios in the future!.Version: 4.6.3

Almost thereFantastic app. Pick up from where you last listened would be nice for long audio files. Everything else works very well..Version: 3.9.1

Beautiful, powerful, simply lovelyThis app and server integration combo is just what I was after. Love the customization.Version: 4.6.3

Works great on local networkSlow to load music when I’m away from home..Version: 4.4.0

Great app, just what PLEX needed for the music fanI had lots of problems getting Plexamp to connect to my server at first. I am a network engineer so my home network is a bit more complex than your average home LAN. My PLEX server and iDevices are on two different subnets, and for the longest time Plexamp refused to connect to the server, even though the regular PLEX app worked fine. Thanks to the helpful response I got here after leaving a 1-star review, I was able to get Plexamp working simply by changing my server settings. If you’re having problems, try changing the secure connection setting on your server from “Required” to “Preferred.” Annoying that such a seemingly unrelated setting makes or breaks it, so Plexamp loses 1 star for that. Otherwise, so far, so good!.Version: 3.2.2

Great addition, if a bit bare-bonesIf you have a Plex library, this is a great way to play it on the phone or in the car. Missing some features suggested but the “amp” name, like strong playlist management (eg no ability to shuffle playlists by album, no smart albums), but still miles better than Music..Version: 4.2.1

Perfect Plex companionI’ve been using Plex forever and the one thing missing was a music player and this is the ultimate player..Version: 4.0.0

Personally, I can’t fault it.If you stream music from your Plex server, get PlexAmp. I’ve been using if for almost a year, great app - no issues. 5Stars..Version: 3.7.0

Just about perfectIn my quest to finally untether myself from iTunes and the native iOS Music app, I think Plexamp just about covers all of my needs: nice-looking UI, searchable titles, reliable playback, and (here’s the big one) on-the-fly conversion of lossless to mp3 for downloads. There is one teensy critique I have regarding downloaded content: When you tap on an album from the downloads tab, it instantly starts playing the album instead of showing the track list. In order to see the song titles, you have to play the album and then click on the queue. It’s a minor quibble, but it always throws me a bit since just about every other music app shows the song titles first..Version: 3.2.2

Great appUse this instead of main Plex for my music streaming day to day specially when on the road as it’s predownloading my tracks as I go so if there is any phone network black spots I don’t even notice them 👍.Version: 3.8.1

Hands down best app for your local music collectionSo much care has been put into this app and you can tell the devs really care about this product. Ive been a plex user for 6+ years now but the main plex app is lacking when it comes to music. This app fixes this totally. Love the interface and also the opus transcoding strategy too, allowing you to store days worth of audio tracks taking up less space than 1 Apple Music album. Great for road trips! Appreciate the carplay support too!.Version: 4.0.3

CarPlay version is awesome !!I have been with Plex for quite a while and have been hoping for a CarPlay version for the past couple of years. This wish was finally granted a couple of days ago. I took PlexAmp for a test drive down a rocky mountain canyon where the LTE signal is intermittent at best. But the application played music uninterrupted for the entire route. For me this is the acid test of this kind of an app. Plex has done a marvelous job in bringing us a truly mobile and CarPlay worthy app. I can’t say enough good things about their effort….Version: 3.1.0

Best music player out thereLike a modern day Winamp but way better..Version: 4.6.0

Best solution for my NAS music.Tries different apps to stream my NAS stored music. This is by far the best. App takes a little getting used too but once you crack that it’s great..Version: 4.6.3

FANTASTICI have a large FLAC music collection that I hook up to this and it works like a charm. Love how frequently it’s updated. The seamless transitions feature and sonic analysis is super cool and unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. I looked into Roon and other apps like this for iOS before hand but this is the best bang for buck and just solid app! Would like to get lyrics though but otherwise everything else is great!.Version: 4.2.1

Musical Nirvana 🙏🏻I don’t usually leave reviews however, this is hands down the sweetest interface and UI available to access and control your Plex music library. Well done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 4.2.0

Awesome little player!I’m sold! This player is really great at home but mostly on the road. To always have easy access to my music collection is a great thing. Thanks Plex!.Version: 4.1.0

LyricsWould really appreciate if you make the lyrics bigger.Version: 4.6.1

The bestIt’s the media player I’ve always wanted..Version: 3.7.1

Great app but……Love the Plexamp app. Just wish they would let me turn off the visualizers and just have the Album Art line it did before. The visualizers are cheesy and annoying. I’d give 5 stars for that one small edit please!!’.Version: 4.2.2

Great but needs some workIt’s a great start to an app, however it needs more options and customisations for this kid. Being able to browse artists easier and make radio playlists needs to be easier. How do you make a station playlist, in fact how do you even make a playlist? More refining is needed, but let’s be honest having a dedicated app is awesome!.Version: 3.0.0

I genuinely love PlexampMy own music, gapless playback, awesome auto-DJ mixes, beautiful and playful visuals. My only requests are that I’d like to be able to download my whole library, and an Apple Watch app..Version: 4.6.1

Own your musicI’ve got a lot of CDs that don’t/won’t ever appear on the main streaming services. By using Plex I can manage my own (ripped) music collection. The PlexAmp player is great. Easy to use, download albums for offline play, and I really love the little fact snippets that appear (“released on this day 25 years ago…”) making me rediscover music..Version: 4.4.0

Love this app!I used to use Google Play to manage my music collection. The fact that they replace your uploaded version of a track with their own in addition to the huge issues with uploading tracks led me to pursue standing up my own Plex media server. I’ve been using Plex for a few years and have discovered some significant flaws with the iOS app. In particular, downloading and continuous synchronization of a large music collection was significantly flawed, and required me to completely delete and re-download the media dozens of times. I was about to give up and and then I came across this app. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience using this app. And they have CarPlay support on top of it?? If someone can tell me how I can make a donation to the developers please!.Version: 3.7.1

Nice appNice app.Version: 3.9.1

Almost perfectThis is almost perfect, the download section needs work, should be able to go in downloads and be fully functional like online. Needs to include artists, songs, albums & etc. If it ever does I can truly kill Apple Music and just run plex. Great work though. Let’s make this the best music app.Version: 4.6.2

Thanks PlexampIt’s the obvious option for managing your digital music collection and playing it anywhere. Bye bye iTunes Match, and Apple Music’s unfaithful treatment of albums that truly need gapless playback. I can enjoy music from my CD collection and play it how it should be..Version: 4.4.0

Options re-appearing(iOS 13.4.1) iPhone 6s the playback option wasn’t visible then was visible, I searched all day for it yesterday, because I’m a dedicated Plex fan Now that it has appeared Would be nice to have a selection of pre made EQ settings, example “rock, vocals, bass, classical” Not all Podcast episodes are available, only the newest, the interface looks a lot better and less confusing My Plex server is out of date, it’s running on a ReadyNAS, maybe that’s why I’m having issues, would be nice to have auto update for the thing but I should think netgear are limiting you ? to what you can do? thanks for getting back to me I appreciate the effort I’ll update my review as things get better.Version: 3.0.3

Plexamp ReviewHigh quality across a large mix of audio types: ogg mp3 flac and good categories for quick grab and go. It is also plays gapless between songs in a playlist. I had been using foobar2000, but it quit working easily off my server. Used MonkeyMote with my foobar2000 after that, but some audio quality lacking, and clunky interface. Then I used Plex, and moved to PkexAmp after that. I wish it would play with HEOS as many have pleaded with on the HEOS side of things, but I can live with that. Thank you for making such a high quality audio player..Version: 4.2.0

AmazingPretty good just downloaded it my dad introduced me ☺️.Version: 4.6.3

The more I look the more I likeI can’t get over how nice this app is. It’s a treat. And those EQ presets? I don’t deserve an app this good..Version: 4.6.2

Amazing! App icon customization would be awesome to add though! Finally a way to access my music with all my metadata. Some app icon choice like in the main plex app would be an awesome addition! I’d love to see a version of the current icon with a white background..Version: 4.7.3

Great on device can be better in CarPlayWhen your on your device is functions as expected and is a really sold streaming app. But my biggest problem is in CarPlay. When I go into the library tab it gives you a list A-Z for the artist you want, then it gives a list of all the artists in that letter, then it gives you the albums the artist made, then the songs in the album and finally plays your music. I think it has too many pages to navigate in the car and can be dangerous if you are trying to quickly change the song from a different album. There are more assessable lists like the just added list which is a lot better but I would like to see a list of just the albums in an easier spot..Version: 4.2.1

GreatLove this, great companion to Plex!.Version: 4.0.3

AwesomenessVisually pleasing and user friendly, packed with cool features.Version: 4.5.3

Overall very goodIt’s a strong streaming platform. Possibly a bit over focused on outside subscription sources, but very solid. Use it everyday. I can’t stream to my devices outside of Wi-Fi because my internet provider doesn’t allow bridging. So I need to download content to my device. It will work for a while then something will cause it to not be able to read the downloaded content and it requires me to resync all content again. Doesn’t seem to get resolved so I assume it’s not a priority for PlexAmp team. Why can’t downloads be better integrated into the app? Why does it require its own tab with only list mode? All questions that can’t be answered. Still good. Just irritatingly so..Version: 4.6.2

Exceptional. I’ve reconnected with all my old music in a whole new wayAfter several days of an internet outage I had to rely on only local music on my Plex server. I’d had Plexamp installed but never bothered with it much because Apple Music has been my default streaming choice for ages. But with no streaming available for days I got right into Plexamp and was delighted and surprised at how it reinterpreted all my music into new mixes and playlists. Amazing. If you have Plex, and a big library of your own tunes (from the days before ubiquitous streaming music) then this is a fantastic way to rediscover your music..Version: 4.6.2

Yes!!!!This is the update I have been waiting for! Love that we can skip custom -/+ now. Fixed the bug when have over 200k items in your library TY!! And plenty of other great updates, enhancements and fixes. Definitely update its amazing! You’d think with so many changes there might be issues but it’s working just as reliably as one would expect from plexamp. Keep up the good work, devs, excellent update! Future consideration: adding bookmark or way to remember past listening point for files. Some long podcasts and audiobooks can be a real pain to go back to if I listen to something else in between..Version: 3.7.0

Awesome AppHonestly one of the best ways to listen to your local music and have it all in one place..Version: 3.9.0

Underpromoted treasurePlexamp is a remarkable app that deserves much more exposure. Any music lover or audiophile (unless they are spending big $$ on Roon) should be using this for rich access to their music library from anywhere. I love the rich metadata, DJ, crossfade (please get working with flac) and radios. I recently discovered the searchable database of headphone EQ profiles - wow! The casting is superb especially to the Apple TV app (why don’t the big streaming companies like Tidal do that?) and is good to Sonos (if you can fix the bug with the stream stopping after 10 seconds or so then having to start it again when you first start I’ll raise to five stars 😀). We’ll done, can’t wait to see what other features appear..Version: 4.6.3

AwesomeThe best way to listen to your own music.Version: 3.9.1

Can finally play my own music from my own computerBest app ever. Without question..Version: 4.6.1

WowWhat a bonus from the Plex stable. I came across this by accident but it’s easily my fav way of accessing the music on my NAS. It is so snappy and beautiful and clever. Smart suggestions remind me of artists I’ve neglected for ages. Nice..Version: 4.1.0

Love it!It’s Plexamp, but on your phone. I wish the mobile version had Cast support, though as a Labs app that’s understandable. Downloads should also sync with the normal Plex app, if possible. So music downloaded in one is accessible in the other. Going against everyone else, I’m all for splitting the Plex system up into multiple apps. It doesn’t make sense to include Plex Dash in the main Plex app, because only server admins need it. The same is true for Plexamp, because music is vastly different than movies and TV. The main Plex apps lump them all together with only minor distinctions..Version: 3.0.2

Simply the bestPlexamp is without a doubt the best music streaming app on iOS. It is thoughtfully crafted and has all the features you want. The Plex team is constantly improving and refining what is already an excellent product. I would give it more than five stars if I could..Version: 4.4.0

Solves every needI simply love Plex. A fan of the video options for many years and now THIS! I can use my various DLNA options even when away from home. Well done..Version: 4.6.1

Needs improvement4 stars for being able to real-time covert FLAC to Opus. However the UI really needs some work. Having two columns for “back to” and “up next” is really cumbersome. There should just be one scrollable list for the current playlist. There also needs to be a way to integrate downloads into the normal interface instead of just being its own tab. I should be able to browse by artist and album for downloads only. The reason I rely on downloads so much is that there’s not good service during my commute so I need to select only downloaded music for listening. Having to scroll all my albums and playlists in a non-sortable manner is not helpful. When I synced music to my phone using iTunes I could do this but not with Plexamp..Version: 4.6.1

Great but missing somethingGreat app works flawlessly! But as a Plex pass lifetime subscriber for around a decade I do believe there should be a paid tier for non Plex pass members to gain access to the features this app provides. This would enable people like my wife and immediate family that have access to my server to play music and a good manner when out and about. Overall keep up the good work and continue to innovate or replicate features within the Plex ecosystem. Furthermore, the application requires a delete feature within the creation of playlists.Version: 4.0.3

ExcellentDownloaded and works straight off the bat. Excellent!.Version: 3.0.0

AwesomeAmazing player, so much better than the base Plex app for music. Pleeeease add scrolling of long track title names 🙏🙏🙏.Version: 4.4.0

Hands-down the best solution for lossless and gapless.I have tried pretty much every local music player across iPS and MacOS and nothing compares to the simplicity of Plex and Plexamp. Every other solution seemed to have problems properly playing gapless audio on iOS, this is a very important feature to me as most my library are mix cds from the 90s and 2000s. Luckily Plexamp handles everything seamlessly and syncs all your play history across all devices. The lifetime Plex pass is well worth it for access to Plexamp - i got mine during a black friday deal..Version: 4.6.3

Great appRarely have issues with this app. I can use my phone to control audio while speaker is paired to iPad. Fantastic work team. 5/5.Version: 4.6.3

Works perfect- great use of my libraryBeen waiting for an app like this for a long time - unbelievably good for a music fan/hoarder.Version: 3.0.0

UnbelievableI recently purchased Plex Lifetime pass on Black Friday and wow wow wow I just cannot get over how slick Plexamp is!!! The coding is AAAAA literally cannot be any better… maybe one nag would be a 1-12s slider for Sweet Fades that’s it. Keep up the good work PLEX!.Version: 4.5.3

Love it, but could love it moreI use this app for MY music almost 24-7, what would be even more awesome though, would be an Apple Watch version?! Food for thought?!.Version: 4.4.0

Awesome AppI absolutely love this app. Thank you Plex for making an amazing way to listen to music! The interface is absolutely stunning and easy to use. I've not once had any buffering issues or latency problems no matter if I'm at home or hundreds of miles away from home. If your worried about large music libraries, my library of 5,000 songs in many different formats plays just fine. My only thing negative I have to say is that sometimes album art is missing. I would love to see a way on this app to manage album covers or a way to pull them from an online sourcr..Version: 3.8.2

A lot of promise, but needs some workReally excited for the future of this app - providing a rich music experience with interesting discoverability features, all managed from your own media server. Some things I'd love to see: -Better offline management: this is a deal breaker for me right now as currently I can only sync a maximum of 24hr per playlist to my device. Would love to have an option to just sync my entire library (or at least significantly more than 24hr) without the slightly hacky solution of just making a lot of playlists. This is a deal breaker for me, and means I'll keep on using the regular Plex app until it's sorted. -Improved seeking UI: minor thing here, but most other music apps (e.g. Apple Music and SoundCloud) have quite a nice set of animations when you scrub through a track. Would be nice to see this improved as the overall polish on the rest of the app is quite good, but when you scrub half the time you end up scrolling vertically a little, and the overall feedback of this interaction is lacking. -Really nitpicky: the "now playing" bar at the bottom doesn't seem to update colours as you navigate, meaning it never really feels harmonious with the rest of the app.Version: 3.5.0

Great so far... Only needs minor tweaks.Longtime and enthusiastic Plex user. Great to have a dedicated app for the music on my Plex server. The main Plex app always seemed like overkill when I just want to play a few songs quickly. I buy a ton of indie and underground music directly from the artists, and I have a lot of personally created music, and Plex is the only way to manage it all properly, with a beautiful interface, and in one place. I am also fed up with having 9000 streaming subscriptions, so Plex & Plexamp is the solution for me. I really like that Plexamp starts the music instantly, and the interface makes it simple and efficient to get right to what I want to play. The one thing I'd like to see added is skip-ahead" buttons. Besides that, I have no complaints. Love Plex..Version: 3.0.1

Absolutely stunning amp. A dream come true. For many years, I’ve been looking for a music streaming app to replace my old iPod classic. With a large music catalogue, local on-device storage was not possible with lossless files. So I went with Synology not realising that Plex Media Server could hold all my files and then stream them to this amazing application on my iPhone. The killer feature for me is that Plex Amp has true gapless playback. Not even Synology’s own DS Audio is capable of that. I also love the UI design and the way everything is carefully organised. I would happily pay ten dollars a month just to be able to stream lossless files with gapless playback. Three dollars feels like a steal. Please pass on my utmost thanks and gratitude to everyone involved with Plex Amp for making my portable music dream come true..Version: 3.4.4

Plexamp - one of few apps with landscape support!Been hunting for a music app with a friendly UI and so far Plexamp is winning this. Don’t usually write reviews but feel this one is well deserved. One thing I’d like to see support for, if possible, is for subscribers of Apple/Google Music to be able to integrate. If Plexamp had this I would ditch my proprietary music app entirely for use in the car. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.4.0

Love it !Integrates my Tidal library on top of my own music it’s perfect ! I will give 5 stars if I could sync my bandcamp account too !.Version: 4.5.2

Yass QueenLoving the sweet fades and the autoplay!.Version: 4.0.0

Great music appNothing else comes close for me and my personal collection. Have tried a few different combinations of servers and apps and Plexamp beats them all hands down..Version: 4.6.1

Epic app for TIDAL - customisation is epicJust download it and transfer from Tidal to Plex - the amount of options, customisation and how it looks to it totally worth it.Version: 4.6.3

Dope.Dope. Easy to use but mad flexible. Is there a way to create smart playlists based on star rating using the iPhone app and not just on the Plex server? Developer response: "Yes, you can. Use the filter action on a library screen in Plexamp (artists, albums, tracks) and choose the Rating rule under tracks. Then select the add button and create a new playlist with the rule. " My response: It works on the Plexamp iPhone amp! Follow up question… is there a way in Plexamp or Plex to set a start and end time for each song to avoid intros or lengthy outros that are attached to the song? THANKS!.Version: 4.6.3

Plexamp is GREAT!Plexamp is a companion app to the Plex ecosystem of that specializes on your personal music library that you have stored on your Plex Media Server. With Plex partnering with key metadata companies, your personal collection of music and movies is curated to look like that of the mainstream streaming companies. Plexamp allows your personal library of music to be handled for you or by you. Offline downloads allow your playlists to be accessible when out of reach. Fantastic features like sweet fades, volume leveling, and Sonic Analysis make your playlists be better and sound better. Anyone who enjoys managing and listening to their own collection should seriously consider putting Plexamp on their radar..Version: 3.7.1

AmpleGoodbye Google music. Thank you for introducing me to Plexamp. Always a big fan of Plex without music. The removal of Google Music made me scout round and find this. Didn’t expect much. Was massively surprised. Wonderful player with lots of extras that make it better than my previous go to. Enables me the ability to stave off streaming services for a while yet! 👍.Version: 4.2.2

The bestGreat to be able to have PLEX Amp available while riding my Harley tourer around the country.Version: 4.6.3

Not easy to navigate offlineI like the concept of the app to separate the music from the rest of plex but I’m not happy with the interface and search capabilities when in offline mode. You have to be in download tab to play download music and can only scroll. Still using plex mobile app for now until this is in a better place. Was hoping it was the next iPod but not quite there yet. Thank you for getting this to where it is right now though..Version: 3.8.2

Plexamp WOW!I can stream and play my lossless flac files with a usb dac from my plex server. This is worth every penny for a lifetime subscription with plex. Thank you Plex Team Palantbon:).Version: 4.6.0

The one thing I need to make it perfectI love this app so much, the look, the UI, almost everything. But the only thing keeping me from using this at my daily driver music app is the offline functionality. I want to be able to download all of my music, search, and have all of the same functionality as the streaming section. If this could happen it would make my day and I would recommend this app to everyone. I’ve used Plex forever and I love it, I want to love Plexamp just as much..Version: 3.4.5

Almost perfectAs somebody who has a fairly large digital collection of lossless audio files, I prefer to transfer these to my mobile device and listen to them on the go. Apple has restrictions loading local music onto your and iOS device outside of using the iTunes application, which is a pretty awful experience, especially on Windows platforms. This is where PlexAmp comes into the picture. PlexAmp allows you to do exactly what you think, which is transfer fully lossless audio files to your device (hosted from your Plex server), and listen to them on the go. It works pretty seamlessly. I had to deduct a star from this rating, however, because downloaded files do not have the same organizational system as those hosted on your personal Plex server or the standard Plex iOS application. This makes scrolling through a large, downloaded collection pretty tedious and cumbersome, as there is no way to filter for artists or albums, and the albums can sometimes be sorted in an incorrect order..Version: 3.9.1

Looks amazingApp works great and is super slick. One minor bug, if your Plex server doesn’t have a music library setup your get a random “unable to connect to server” error, rather than an “unable to find music library “ error..Version: 3.0.2

CoolVery nice. May need a playlist selection separate from the rest. And I want on certain playlist to automatically download songs As I add them. Thank you.Version: 3.0.0

Brilliant brainy beautiful songsThe song quality is brilliant.Version: 4.2.1

My ears are happyThis is a great app, Plex on audio steroids. It’s got everything I need to enjoy my music library which before had been trapped in DNLA or iTunes. Well worthwhile on all platforms..Version: 3.2.1

Best music appLove how far this app has progressed. I’ve been collecting and converting high quality versions of my music for years. This app provides the functionality to really enjoy my collection, both in the car and on my devices..Version: 3.7.0

AwesomeIncredible app. My music dreams have come true. Lightweight, fast and easy to use I can now keep my CD and download library with me on the go. Great job with this.Version: 4.6.1

FantasticWhat a bonus, bought and set up a server just for video initially (to remove myself from the monthly subscription madness) but then discovered the joy of Plexamp. If you are a physical media person like me with the patience to rip all your media and stick on a server then the ability to stream (and offline) your own music library while out and about is brilliant. And the best bit is that the app is actually also brilliant, right up there with the top streaming apps in the most important ways. Only really lagging behind with new music discovery I would say. Highly recommend, depending on your circumstances of course..Version: 4.7.0

Excellent start!!Thanks to everyone to actually put in effort and time to bring this app!! Kudos.. love the UI, Ultrablur, theme options, everything is buttery.. Like everyone here’s my wishlist and hopefully happens in next few versions: - AirPlay, casting - Carplay - Ability to view my entire album collection - On the go playlist is - Limiting to 40 tracks..why? What if my favorite artist has 100s of songs? I should be able to create my own playlist without any track Limit Keep up the good work team and do keep us updated on features release - not the usual coming soon!! Thanks again!!! Update: Thanks for quick response.. I do see all albums under all music (thanks is for the tip), but we need more sort options, title alphabetical for example. On another question on limit.. when I search for an artist under main page search function, it only gives limited number of tracks for that artist even though I have plenty other tracks for same artist.. BIG THANKS AGAIN for being so quick in your responses!!.Version: 3.0.2

It’s getting better.Still miles better than stock app.Version: 4.2.2

Great app, getting better every update tooThe best way to stream your library and even Tidal library is a must. A Bandcamp integration would be even better !!.Version: 4.4.0

Finally an app to play my music. For years I have be collecting music and every app I have tried in the past would want me to pay again for the same songs, albums that I already owned and loved. Now I can play my collection from any device and location I choose to..Version: 3.8.2

Halfway thereApp runs incredibly smoothly, sound quality is fantastic, GUI is beautiful. The lack of a traditional library browser keeps this from replacing DS Audio. This is a problem with the Plex server as well: sorting/navigating by decade, genre, then album artist, and artist are not customizable enough. Plexamp completely lacks sorting/navigating by genre, artist, or decade and instead it’s just a list of all of your library’s albums. It’s unnavigable with larger libraries. The search function is not a replacement for traditional browsing. A robust, customizable library browser (think Music Bee) would make this a killer app..Version: 3.0.3

Great app from Plex but missing certain featuresLove the app, please consider making improvements to the following: 1) Add some kind of indicator for downloaded music. 2) Add a “Downloaded” section in the home tab. 3) When tapping on a downloaded album on the Downloads tab it immediately starts playing the first song of that particular album. Please change this behaviour so instead of doing that it opens the album and lets us choose which track to play. At the top off my head these are some things that stood out to me while using the app. Hoping to see these improved in future updates. Thanks Plex team!.Version: 3.2.1

Great music app but metadata blows out to 1TB+I’ve added a small sample of my library and the app is hands down the best I’ve used! Unfortunately I can not add the entire library as plex metadata blows out beyond 1TB resulting in slower DB and unrealistic SSD requirements. I’ve raised a ticket and Plex have confirmed due to “no size limit” of Album Art on their end - some images can be 20MB+ each and this is the reason why my metadata ends up so large. Hopefully this will get fixed soon so I can import my entire library..Version: 4.3.0

So worth itJust for this app, getting a Plex Pass is worth it. Auto generated artist radios are awesome. Just say how long you want it to be, download and off you go! I just discovered the lyrics option too, which just scroll automatically while the track is playing. Awesome app, great UI and UX. This beats 95% of music apps I’ve tried. And I’ve tried a few. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.1.0

AnimationsGreat app but some of the animations (like when opening the … menu from the now playing screen) don’t run at the high refresh rate on the 13 Pro Max. They seem noticeably choppy. Hope this can be fixed!.Version: 4.5.2

Plexamp by go-to audio playerFirst there was Winamp then there was Plexamp. Winamp was my one stop shop audio player for my MP3 collection back in the day (and still is on my older computers). However, I needed a compatible substitute for the newer devices in our home to playback by backed up collection of audio CDs. Plexamp beautifully connects with my PLEX server to help me playback my entire library of music anywhere in (and out) of my home. The regular updates are always welcome and keep the player functional and streamlined. PS - the graphic visualizer is one of my favourite features..Version: 4.7.0

Fantastic for music enthusiastsAs a long time Plex user I dragged my feet on moving from YT Music to PlexAmp. What was I thinking!? The app has so many nice features for exploring your music library and the core listening experience is great. Bandcamp + Plex Tidal have brought my library up to date in no time at all. Hoping for even more playlist features in the future, I.e being able to combine “last played” with “track rating”. Keep up the great work!.Version: 4.0.3

Close to perfectI was in love with Google Play Music for years and it was central to my daily life as a way to listen to my music collection across all my devices and on the go. When it closed up shop last year, I spent a long time researching my options for a replacement. I settled on Plex and the Plexamp app as my choice and have found it to be great, far better than GPM was in terms of visual UI and sound quality. However, there are a few features that don’t quite fit the high standard that the product sets in most ways. Other reviews here have mentioned the lack of repeat functionality, but I want to point out the big need for improvements in the equalizer. As I listen across multiple systems, it is necessary to use eq to get consistent sound. The eq doesn’t have presets or allow saved settings or profiles meaning that I have to manually set the eq points each time I switch systems. This seems primitive compared to the rest of the app. Hopefully this can be improved..Version: 3.4.4

Love itThis is exactly what I’ve wanted for years. I’m a music nerd and rip all my CD’s to flac. Then I have to manually copy them to various SD cards for my car, mobile phone etc. This was an issue with iPhone in particular as they always (until recently) charged an unfair amount for extra storage. Now I can stream all my red book flacs and download them as and when I need to. The app is slick, looks very good and has a great level of customisation, I think the developers have done a great job so far and I can’t wait to see what they do next..Version: 4.6.3

Decent but needs tweaksSimilar to when I use plex to play music from the default app or on the TV it needs to have a repeat all or repeat single button, and it needs to remember your setting even if you close the app. It drives me nuts having to always turn it back on every time I would launch the normal Plex app. By default I think the preamp, loudness equalization, clipping help features should be turned off by default and we can go in and tweak those. I’d love the ability to edit the home to remove things like the radio and such. Last but not least once I select the album and it’s showing me the songs on said album I don’t want to have to click a song and then click play to play the song, just immediately play when I click it, no need to confirm what I’d like to do. Not trying to bash on what has been done here. I love seeing Plex take this new step with a dedicated music app. Been a Plex user for about 8 years and it has made media playback in the home so incredibly simple and I cannot praise that enough. Keep up the amazing work guys..Version: 3.0.3

AwesomeGrew up on WinAmp… this is better..Version: 4.2.2

Good. Not greatLibrary requires pull down refresh to load. Seems like a bug. The “Playlist” view is ridiculously stupid. If you’re listening to a long playlist, and you want to see what’s in that playlist, get ready for stupidity. Instead of the app just showing the whole list, where your current song is, and what is next in order all on one screen, you have to get all this information from various tabs. The “Back To” tab show what just played, but in reverse order with the most recent song at the top. The “Up Next” tab shows the coming songs in the list in the opposite, descending, order, but not all of them. So you can never see all the songs in your playlist in the order in which they are played. Please fix this silliness..Version: 4.6.0

Great with caveatsIt works well when it works, but odd little things keep it from being 5 stars: Metadata including artists, song and album titles frequently disappear when my Plex server updates. There’s no scrolling for long titles, so for example backed up podcasts with long titles or songs with a list of guest artists are very cut off with no way of viewing the whole title(s). It’s cool to be able to better control streaming from my computer, but minor app improvements can go a long way in making it great..Version: 4.0.3

WizardAbsolutely wizard. FLAC quality music + PLEX server + offline access on iPhone? What's more to say!?.Version: 4.0.2

Awesome appThis app has become my go-to music app on my phone and computer. My favourite feature is the “Sweet Fades” where it does a fade between songs in a playlist. I no longer use the built-in Music app. Now if only they could release a version for the Apple TV….Version: 4.6.1

Great system. Love Plex and Plex AmpWorks really well. I got this to go alongside my Apple Music subscription. I got fed up with streaming services having albums with missing tracks or alternative versions. Sometimes older music I live isn’t in streaming or disappears due to license. I now use music streaming with Apple Music as an interactive radio and music discovery and then buy CDs and Flac after ripping my old cds. Maybe I’m old but I love having high quality copies of my favourite albums under my control with high quality cover art. With Plex amp it makes this easy to listen to anywhere on any device.Version: 3.8.2

Apple Watch support would be niceA great way to listen to a personal music collection without the hassle of having to upload to iTunes or download to your device. It keeps device storage free for other apps, photos or whatever while giving access to a personal music streaming service. Easy to setup and integrate files on a computer to stream anywhere internet access is available. When internet is not available options to download content are available. It would be nice to get an app for Apple Watch. All users could use an Apple Watch app in a Wi-Fi capable area and for those with data plans anywhere service is available..Version: 4.0.3

Super !!!Amaizing that’s it !.Version: 4.0.3

Almost perfectThere are few things that drive me crazy but overall it’s a good music player. 1. Offline playlist. After an extensive search I found the slider to change the amount of music I want to download for offline playback. I kept ignoring that slider - I thought it was for volume control. Well now I increase the time and hit download but it keeps telling me the playlist has already been downloaded. This is not true only a portion was downloaded. When I check the slider bar it keeps going back to the original one hour download not the longer time I just changed it to. 2. CarPlay. Only something around 10 albums show up in my downloaded list but I have at least twice that amount downloaded on my phone. I’ve tried everything I could think of to get the rest to show up. Nothing worked. I see from your response that this is a CarPlay issue. Thanks for letting me know that. 3. I wish things like long album titles would scroll so you can read the entire album title and not have it cut off once a certain amount of characters have been used. Yes for number three I mean for the app on my iPhone. I have a number of album titles with similar names and only the very end of the album name is different but there is no way to see that full album name in the iOS app. Thanks for your response!.Version: 3.1.1

What I was looking for!!Best way to play music from your Plex server!.Version: 4.6.2

Great music player!Works well. I like the Mix builder and things like the Radio by Decade. How do I see what is in the queue? When I add something to the queue how do I see what I have added? Other than this very nice. Hope you keep improving the player..Version: 3.0.0

Love it!Favourite feature is the transition between songs.Version: 4.4.0

Perfect and getting betterI am a massive Plex fan and this has just rounded everything up. Fantastic player.Version: 4.2.0

Almost perfect.A few little details are annoying me. 1) When I select a track from a list, it focuses on the track. I want the option to keep the whole playlist in focus. 2) It seems I can only choose one source at a time. I have two network shares on my server, each with a different kind of library. I can’t browse them both at the same time. My use is quite niche. I record a ton a music and need to hear it on the go. I use Plex server to access my work on remote server. PlexAmp gives me a key feature I need for writing songs to short loops…gapless audio. Thanks so much!.Version: 4.6.1

Care, attention to detail and loveAs a long time curator of my own music collection, I find streaming services a bit lacking in soul and the constant refreshing of content means I lose track of favourite albums or don’t spend enough time with one album to find its way into my life. Plexamp is written for me; it helps me feel connected again to my music collection. It is joyful to use, funny and most fundamentally it has soul, man; and in times like these we could all use a bit of that to help us cope. It has moved in with me and I’m thinking of popping the question to make it a permanent part of my life. Thank you to the developers. I. Love. You..Version: 3.0.2

AmazingBy far the best self hosted music service, however the privacy is not great.Version: 4.6.1

Great App, few bugsI love this new app. Its great to see a experience geared towards music more. Especially liked the Car Play support. I had a few issues with it though. The Car Play screens where jumping back and forth when i would try to interact with them. I also had an issue playing music at first. It looked like it started to play a song, but just kept looping the first second with no audio coming out. I would also like to ask if you could add support for apple watch on cellular. Then you can use your watch to just listen to your Plex library, especially if your in the gym (Pre-Covid days of course) working out. Its easier to not carry my phone on me and just stream music to my watch..Version: 3.1.1

Superb AppI thought I’d keep my Soundtracks seperate from my regular music app (Apple Music) and load them into Plexamp instead. Now I’m starting to consider moving my entire music listening experience over to Plexamp. It’s a fluid and polished app to say the least. There is just something about owning the music and arranging it nicely in Plexamp, an itch I can’t seem to scratch with steaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. I’d love if there could eventually be Apple Watch integration and an option to enable fading when skipping a track. Great work Plex team!.Version: 4.5.3

Best music experience in the universeLove Plexamp so much, it’s hands down the best music app on the planet, coupled with a curated Plex Server it gives you hours, days of music pleasure and is the best “I don’t know what I want to listen to” solver ever.Version: 4.2.0

RevisitedI reviewed this app 9 months to a year ago and gave it one star. My issue was navigating the app. It was awful. Still think it is. I’m not a fan of “swiping”. I know it’s the trend these days. I’m 70 years old. Not a millennial or “ genZ” So this may be generational. I decided to take another look at it and force myself through the swiping. Wow this app is awesome! There is nothing missing that I could possibly want (except for the navigation). My only suggestion would be to place a “dock, system tray, task manager” whatever you choose to call it at the bottom of every screen..Version: 4.6.3

Unbelievably GoodPlease keep up the extreme customization. I never realized how picky I am with my music player until using this app. Only problem is there is a bug with CarPlay where sometimes the shuffle and repeat controls disappear.Version: 4.2.1

Seriously awesomeCanceled my subs and am switching to owning my music, this app makes it possible!.Version: 4.2.2

One of those perfect appsLove this app. How did I survive without it it’s one of those rare intuitive apps that just works brilliantly. 5 stars without any doubt!.Version: 4.4.0

Fantastic Music App!I love PlexAmp (and Plex) - such a great music player, with loads of cool features, allowing me to rediscover my music collection. I’ve migrated away from iTunes Match, and the experience with PlexAmp is far superior. Keep up the good work! I always look forward to each update!.Version: 4.2.2

StokedThis is just awesome. I’ve been an iTunes user for so long and wanted an alternative. I’ve been locked to my laptop. I’ve been a dedicated Plex user for years for video but could not justify moving audio until there was a great player app. This app made me take the leap to move all my audio into Plex. It’s beautifully simple to use and has brought new life to my huge audio collection. Fantastic app. Well designed. Well thought through. And it works perfectly..Version: 3.8.1

Almost perfect! The only thing holding Plexamp back is the fact that you cannot easily download all your songs for long trips and flights if your library exceeds 24 hours in length. Otherwise this is one of the best looking music players for your personal music collection..Version: 4.6.3

Great!Possibly the best music platform for hosting your own library. The design and function of the app is nearly top tier.Version: 4.6.2

The best music app that I’ve ever usedFantastic app, very well thought through and beautifully designed. Complements the other Plex apps perfectly and sets the bar for what a music player should be..Version: 3.7.1

Great playerPlexamp is great. I use several different music libraries on the same server. My only wish at this stage is to be able to select between them on the home screen of the app rather than having to change the source (although doing that isn’t too much of a pain).Version: 4.2.2

Great app just missing ability to castLoving all the mixes and builds. Would be nice to be able to chromecast it like the normal Plex app..Version: 3.0.0

Amazing appPlex keeps getting better and better..Version: 4.6.1

Good but really needs AirPlay supportI like this app, it's quick, it's light, it looks good and it has some decent playback options. The only thing I really think is missing is AirPlay support! Edit: it has it! It's just hidden away in the system level menu! Great work :).Version: 3.1.0

Sublime.Best music app you can download for your iPhone. It works flawlessly and looks amazing at that. The feature that made me want it, is the built in EQ. I use several headphones or AirPods and I wanted the ability to EQ their sound. It has EQ presets for many headphones, with adjustments made by the likes of Crinacle or RTings. If there was a feature request, I would love for EQ to be accessible from the player as opposed to having to dig through menus every time I want to change it. Perhaps having the ability to customise the player menu would be an option. P.S. Wouldn’t it be great to bring back “Cover Flow” as we used to have on iPhone 3G and iPods? Just a thought..Version: 4.6.1

Really good player with loads of optionsI have a large library of ripped CDs and MP3s I’ve bought over the years and this player is really good - allowing me to find all my music and rediscover stuff I’d forgotten about..Version: 4.6.1

Needs WidgetThis app is amazing but it desperately needs a widget. Any music app should have it at this point..Version: 4.6.3

An absolute unit of an appSeamless integration with your plex server. Works really well and organises your music library really well for you. Easy to edit artwork and album art with plex dash. On the fly compression for slow music to your desired bitrate, or just go full flac and it’ll oblige. It has a really well laid out layout. Easy to navigate. Easy to get to what you want to play. I can’t fault it because it has everything covered..Version: 4.5.3

Simply amazing! When you had enough of your streaming services or love physical media then this app is for you. You can play from FLAC to AIFF, stream on full quality or adjust to suit your data cap with various transcode options to suit..Version: 4.2.0

Amazing UI/UXVery nice to use and many cool features that make it fun to engage with a large music library..Version: 4.6.3

Great new music appGreat new app for music lovers. Love the play screen UI and the mood based stations, re-discovered music in my library I haven’t listened to in years..Version: 3.0.0

Beautiful, but not perfectI adore Plexamp; it’s such a lovely app to use. The majority of things just work, and work well while looking pretty. Better than a huge majority of music apps that I’ve used over time, thank you. With that said, there are a couple of UI elements that I’m not so sure about - and if the developers are open to feedback I’d love to give it - and it’s such a shame that the lyrics feature doesn’t stay enabled between songs. Will recommend to friends..Version: 3.4.1

Brilliant app!!!Love it! I bought a lifetime Plex pass many years back, it would have to be the best app purchase I’ve ever made..Version: 4.6.3

It just works. Also, it’s ridiculously beautiful.I’ve been an on-and-off Plex user for years, but this app might just keep me here for good. The app works just as promised, and it’s one of the most beautiful iOS apps I’ve ever seen, to boot. I love the customization features. It would be nice to have icon options like the regular Plex app, and to be able to turn off some features, like Moods, lyrics, and showing record labels, which just kinda get in my way. Regardless, this is now my daily driver for playing ALAC and FLAC files, and I don’t imagine I’ll find a reason to switch any time soon..Version: 4.4.0

Almost perfectI’ve been using Plexamp since it was publicly released, and each iteration has brought useful features. It is now the only music app I use and I would highly recommend it to anyone that still has their own media. The latest batch of changes, including auto switching of the bit rate, is most welcomed. I can only see this app getting better! Why the four-star review then? As the title suggests, we are almost in music nirvana, but there there is only feature that has been a glaring omission for me since the beginning: I just want to download the music I want, en masse, much like the Plex app. The current options are great for a few mixes on the road but I’m an album guy, and I want most of my albums with me at all times. Don’t get me wrong, I can do that now but I have to download each album individually. Fix that and we have a five-star app. Saying that, Plexamp is still the music app out there right now..Version: 3.7.1

Vraiment bonApplication super bien fait.Version: 4.6.1

Could be the Perfect music app!Purchased a subscription yesterday and find the GUI and the interface navigation excellent. Lovely layout and usability and the radio feature is also very good. Where this app fails for me is I was under the illusion that this would stream to Upnp clients I have dotted round the house, but only Chromecast or Airplay clients. Also an internet radio directory would make this a complete music solution. Shame once my month subscription ends will have to revert..Version: 3.4.4

Everything Tidal is missingPlex Amp is a great player, it really brings your tidal subscription alive and fills many gaps in Tidal’s player. Radio, ‘guest DJ’, customisable playback cache, EQ, near seamless integration with local music files and Tidal content, and I could go on. The only thing holding back a 5 star is that I have had trouble getting all Guest DJ modes working properly..Version: 4.6.3

Great music app for PlexA great little app for playing music from your Plex Server. All it’s missing is CarPlay support. Once it gets that, 5 stars!.Version: 3.0.3

A must have for those who prefer managing their own music!Completely replaced all other music services I used. Constantly receiving great updates and no bloat. Great work!.Version: 4.2.1

Amazing little appFor those not wanting to pay a subscription service on the monthly to listen to the same music, who want to spend time with their own curated collection, appreciating what they have instead of being pulled in by “the algorithm”. For you people, this app (and Plex in general) are the best you can get. It’s beautifully designed and has features that the big boy apps have. Praise be to the developers of this app!.Version: 4.2.1

Just greatI’ve used Plex for years for video and have recently ripped my CD collection too my NAS. Just like when streaming video from the NAS, it pretty flawless. I’ve not run into any issues streaming while out and about or at home. I have a Cambridge CXN and the app (stream Magic) is pretty useless. Album art randomly changes while listening to music etc. When I’ve looked online to see what causes this, it suggests that it how the NAS is setup. However, Plexamp works with the same settings and no issues. I now use airplay as it works without an issue and album art is always correct. What ever the Devs are doing and continue to do is great. Hands down the best software for all kinds of streaming..Version: 4.6.1

Airiplay woesThere’s a lot to like about Plexamp but it gets a major failure for not working reliably with airplay on some networks. If you have a network with multiple wifi access points then you may experience dropouts (and perhaps total audio loss) as your mobile device moves from one access point to another). You can fix this if your access points allow you to turn on fast roaming but some devices may not work with this setting (and if you don’t have admin control of the network then you are out of luck). Other apps have no airplay troubles when fast roaming is off (such as Overcast,Prism Music and Apple Music) which is why I’m giving Plexamp a ding on its rating. If it weren’t for this it might be the closes thing to a perfect music app that I’ve used..Version: 4.6.3

Great stuffThis player is looking good af. Would like to see a libraries tab where I can more easily see all of my playlist right away and select them faster. It would be great to see the downloads being able to be sorted by artist, album, name, etc. I would also like the option to select an artist to download all of their music, right now I can only download one album at a time. But this is still great to see. The player looks modern and simple. I love that I can finally use an equalizer with Plex. I also love the ability to manually select the preamp. The ability to choose my caching on cellular and wifi is fantastic. And btw the limiter is great to see. Keep up the hard work, been a supporter for a while..Version: 3.1.0

From good to greatI’ve been using Plexamp for years now, as my primary (at this point, only) music app. It’s always been a pretty great way to stream my FLAC library to all my devices. Over the years, the app has become even better, with interface and performance improvements, and additional playback quality settings that have made this audiophile quite happy! The devs have been great and responsive, and I have no hesitation paying my monthly plex pass to help support their work..Version: 4.2.2

Flawless AppPlexamp works amazingly well. Have setup Plex Server on a Synology NAS and have started ripping my CD collection as flac files. The streaming works perfectly to my phone and at the same time works perfectly with my cars head unit interface. Well done Plex. Well worth the subscription..Version: 4.4.0

Getting thereIt's great to have a dedicated music app for Plex instead of using the "regular" Plex app and navigating through everything on my server. As a lot of others have mentioned, viewing by artist or albums directly would be great (or will be when the add that feature -Hey guys, if you're reading this, why not add the Recent Artist > other sort method to the description to save all the replies I'm sure you're pasting into the reviews at this point). I'd like a quicker way to switch between libraries as I've set up separate ones for Music and Audiobooks. It took a bit to find that, not a lot but some. All in all looking forward to testing it out more as watching out for updates and refinements. This would Ave been 4 1/2 stars if that were possible simply because it's not quite perfect but darn good..Version: 3.0.0

Simply the bestAwesome app. I use it at home and via CarPlay when out and about. Easy to use and a developer who cares. Keep up the good work.Version: 3.8.0

PlexaliciousUsed plex for a couple of years and love it. Got 50k+ songs and being able to access them wherever I am is a joy. There’s some issues when it comes to searching for certain songs, to do with various artists tags, which really needs ironing out, I can’t access a good number of songs easily. Also, if you change password it can cause havoc to connect to server again. Plex, you could’ve included the instructions for that on the email re the hack. Other than that, crack on..Version: 4.6.1

SuperbWorks best with a large music collection, and does a great job rediscovering old favourites..Version: 4.5.0

Lacking key features, but a good startI second what has been said in other reviews. It lacks a basic browse/sort function that most players have: Browse by artists, albums, playlists etc... Another key function missing is the ability, when in the app, to swap the output (ie to speakers, to Bluetooth headphones...). You can do that from the widget on the control centre but not from the player app itself. Otherwise it integrates seamlessly as a part of the iOS system so I can see it becoming my preferred player in the long term once all the issues have been ironed out (I believe in you guys!). Just shamelessly copy what is working on other players and add your Plex touch and I’ll be a happy bunny..Version: 3.0.0

Finally! Back to the REAL PLEXFINALLY I can directly access and DOWNLOAD my old skool mp3s without all the other Plex BLOAT. Thank you! Here’s a clever download feature I would LOVE to see: Autodownload after X plays; Auto download X stars and up; Auto download Newly Added Auto-Nuke from download folder after X weeks unplayed Etc... U get the picture:) that way, you slowly build up an offline collection of your true faves.Version: 3.4.1

Beautiful, elegant, and simpleA beautiful UI which makes listening to my music easy, and helped me rediscover some I’d forgotten I had! Love all the colours and visualisers!.Version: 3.0.0

The best way to listen to music on PlexMy music library is vast, but even on iOS I can listen to my music library on all of my devices, with great visuals and the Plex pass features make it work just like other ‘radio streaming’ apps..Version: 4.5.3

Keep the updates coming!Thank you for listening to the feedback. I really appreciate the new update!.Version: 4.2.0

Love itAlways been a fan of Plex. Nothing better than listening to my own lossless collection in the car. I’ve become my own streaming service 👍.Version: 4.2.1

Latest update is awesomeI’ve been waiting for this day to come. With cast now working the app does just about everything I’ve been hoping for. I’m a long time Plex user and have a lifetime pass, I would have bought the pass for Plexamp alone now..Version: 3.2.0

Awesome!Love the advanced visualizer. Smooth and seamless UI. I will definitely be using this daily. I mentioned this under the Plex Dash review but I just wanted to know if this properly communicates with plex servers. When I stop playback on PlexAmp, it still shows up on Plex Dash and it doesn’t disappear. When using the regular Plex app, it works properly; as soon as playback stops or album ends, it disappears from now playing, but not with PlexAmp. Other than that, everything works flawlessly. It was easy to set up and adjust my settings. Can’t wait for future releases. Thank you for an amazing app!.Version: 3.0.0

Default Player 5 StarsThis app has now replaced Music on my iPhone Finally got round to moving my iTunes library over to my PLEX server. Totally enjoying PLEX amp for all my daily listening. The ease of downloading and deleting tracks to my phone, very simple..Version: 4.6.1

Pretty good so far, but is missing some essential features.I really like all the options this app offers and the discovery features. It is missing the ability to view all artists or albums on my server. I get the app is focused on discovery, but that could at least be a setting. Casting and lyrics also don’t appear to be options yet. It would also be nice if podcasts integrated into the main page if I wanted without needing to switch sources becuase I use Plex for all my podcasts and most of my music and switching is more of a hassle in this app than the main Plex app. I appreciate the bitrate options, crossfade, eq, etc.. It just seems like those features above are near essential and missing at this point. Most are found in the main Plex app as well. There’s a good thread on the Plex subreddit that goes over people’s likes and dislikes with the app so far too..Version: 3.0.0

Changed my life......well, maybe not, but it has helped me (re)discover my music library. Add on the Tidal option and it's virtually perfect for my needs..Version: 4.0.0

Better than any music app I’ve usedThis app is very impressive my fav features ~ - visualisations incl high quality - bitrate codec badges - eq per connected device - search multiple libraries - Lock Screen off - sweet fades sort of cross fading - moods and styles playlists.Version: 3.7.0

FINALLYI’ve wanted an app like this for years. The UX on the main app was not designed with music in mind first, especially on web. The music experience (and especially audiobook experience) has been so bad for so long I actually resolved to make my own open source react native client. I had put about 10 hours into the project this week when Plexamp was released. The UI is still a little rough around the edges. But it’s satisfactory and understandable for a v1. I’m very optimistic for the future of plexamp. Hopefully this continues to be developed and isn’t sentenced to death by Plex execs..Version: 3.0.0

Beautiful private music playerThis app is amazing and there are two standout features for me: 1. You can pass the active play queue between devices pretty easily, so pick up on your phone where you left off on your computer down to the exact track position! 2. Access to my entire Plex music library in full fidelity and no one can change my library contents due to licensing restrictions as often happens with popular streaming services..Version: 4.2.2

Great App For Audiobooks! It’s really stable now for audiobooks, used to on the odd occasion default to beginning of audiobook, but recently it hasn’t faulted and every time I come back to it it’s where it should be. Keep developing it, it’s coming along nicely. :).Version: 4.6.1

FantasticTried previous versions and numerous pc and phone players. PlexApp is fabulous and I was expecting more of same. Well done Plex team. Can’t beat Plex now..Version: 4.2.0
