Everlog Journal for Positive User Reviews

Great!I love the simplicity and the UI look of this app. I bought the lifetime subscription, but maybe consider putting an extra tip option..Version: 2.3.12

Exactly what I needI’ve been digital journaling for over a decade, using various apps that held much promise but then fell short. This app not only is the simple and straightforward UI that I want in a daily tool, but it also did a great job importing all of my past notes. There are too many great features to mention, but one of the features I’ve been looking for since leaving DayOne is ‘On this Day’ - Everlog has done this perfectly!.Version: 2.2.15

Great appSometimes the photos duplicate when I upload them, but the issue doesn't persist after I close and open the app again. Otherwise I like the experience.Version: 2.1.8

Wow juste wowJadore tres simple.Version: 2.1.6

Great Start. Keep it SimpleEdit: Bumped up to four stars. There is now terrific shortcuts support, a lifetime license option and bulk export. Two small missing features. One, the ability to export all entries from a journal as a single text file vs just a CSV and/or facilitate this via Shortcuts so that there is a way to backup. And also, a trash can for deleted entries as one reviewer said is needed too. Original review.... I like the premise of this app. It is wonderfully simple. However, I have two major issues that make it a nonstarter for me. First, there’s no way to bulk export all entries. You are, for now, locked in except for one-by-one exports. Second, the subscription price is too high for what’s essentially syncing and icons. It also would benefit from having Shortcuts support but that’s secondary..Version: 1.2

Love this appI am really enjoying this app. Really getting into writing little notes whenever I feel like it..Version: 2.3.4

Notification featureWould be good if the app had push notifications that made you look back at past journal entries. For example 1 year ago, on this day/ 2 months ago.. and then you see what you wrote on that particular day..Version: 1.1

Love it so farThe simplicity makes it easy to get started without feeling overwhelmed. It’s like having a text convo with yourself. Or like private tweets. It’s be nice if you could include pictures..Version: 1.0.2

Refreshing coming from Day OneLove how lean the app feels on both Mac & iOS. Importing from Day One was a breeze. Enjoying the 'comment' feature where you can expand on posts in a thread format. Keep it going Everlog 🙌.Version: 2.3.13

This app is great but..Love the app guys especially since it has the one time purchase loge the features and the facts it has this minimalist design all the better, but the only thing I would add would be a way to integrate a voice record option. For people like me where sometimes vocalizing is better that typing for me. I hope you guys will work on that. Thanks guys I appreciate it!.Version: 2.0.1

Everlog is a great app for tracking thingsI find it far easier to quickly log items in this app than in any of the more feature heavy note or diary apps. For me, this convenience puts Everlog squarely in the five star category..Version: 1.4.6

BEST JOURNAL APP OUT THEREThe app is just amaizing. Fantastic design from the developer. Although it may need some more features to compete with the major players out there but to be honest ill wait right here on the app till the updates probably come through. Very worth it..Version: 1.6.6

Best journal app out thereThis is the best journal app out there! Very smart the way it keeps track of information. Multiple Journal books to keep things organized and hashtags, this is genius! I really appreciate the thought that has been put into this, very well organized and smart! Looking forward to see it growing..Version: 2.2.11

This a great quick note taking appI've used this app since it was in beta. I found the developer through a twitter thread one day and decided to give it a shot. I use this app all the time to write down random things I need to keep track of day to day, or when I have an idea I don't want to forget. Having the notes correspond to the date and time I writee them is very helpful. The UI of the app is great. Definetly give this app a try if you are tired of having to using the stock notes app..Version: 1.1

Best for tagging & multiple journalsI downloaded every journal app and tested. And contacted Everlog’s developer. After his reply I went all in and haven’t looked back. In order of importance to me. 1. Multiple journals. Not all top tier journals have this. The juggernaut journal app puts it behind a premium subscription. Everlog’s subscription is way cheaper. I bought the lifetime version. 2. Tagging. AND, all the tags appear on the left. And behave by modern tagging standards. You can type the # and see within the text of the entry. In most other journals, you can’t see the tags on the left, and some not even inside the entry. The others have clunky ways to filter and search on tags. The only journal that did tagging as good as Everlog didn’t have multiple journals. 3. Put 1 & 2 together and I can’t find a single program that does this. 4. You take photos directly in the app and keep your camera roll clean. 5. He just added the templates a month ago. 6. He said he would have video upload soon. 7. He said he would add a shared journal feature so I can share with my wife. 8. It’s pretty and inviting to use. This probably goes higher on this list. The only program I found to compete with 1 & 2 is ‘Bear’, but that is a note capture app, not a journal. There is no calendar interface, no sense of time passing, which is what journals are famous for. My search is complete. Thank you, love the app..Version: 2.2.3

Won me over all the othersI did a deep dive on Day One / Journey / Diarium / Diaro / etc... I tested them all and this won me over because of these things. 1. It has multiple journals. Only two others I could find do this. This is a non-starter for me many others. 2. There is a tag list on the left you can actually see... YES! And the hashtag support inside posts is great too. You can tell a coder wrote this. 3. Sharing. The author said he's working on a feature to share journals with someone else. Not just a single post (like all the others), but whole journal. Again YES. I originally thought I needed web app counterpart so I my partner could log in with a separate username/pass. But this solves that problem beautifully, and adds functionality. 4. It's beautiful. Stands with Day One. 5. And price. It needs some more features but the author is very active. So glad I reached out and asked some questions before going with expensive Day One..Version: 2.1.8

Very ImpressedThis is really a fantastic little app! Anyone needing to keep an ongoing written log will benefit from this. My use case is facility management where I need to take lots of quick (time/date stamped) notes to document complaints, issues, and actions throughout the day. I'd been struggling to find a tech solution to the problem because all the apps I found were either too basic or too complicated. This app sits nicely in the middle. It's almost perfect. That it's available in iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions is blowing my mind given how modest it is. If I could ask the author for one thing it would be tags. Tags would make it perfect. And if you develop it further please consider integrating with Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar. Well done Wessley. Very impressed..Version: 1.4.6

Great Journaling AppI'm a bit late to the party, since I've used Everlog for ages now and have never taken the time to review it, but I do really enjoy using it. The markdown is great, new features are added often (none cause feature bloat), there are plenty of customization options, and different journals and tagging make for a great experience overall. I've been oscillating between this and Stoic, but I definitely prefer Everlog's interface. I still use Stoic's guided journals and mood tracking, so I'm not certain whether I'll end up just using Everlog, but I do know that when I want to just write about my day, life, what I'm thinking, etc. , I'm choosing Everlog every time..Version: 2.3.1

Brilliant. If just for one little bug…Been using this for a few months now, and it’s great. Everything I wanted from a journal app. My only issue is for some reason, it occasionally turns off the need for a passcode and Face ID. Meaning my musings are not as secure as I’d like..Version: 2.1.2

Everlog changed my life! You know the meme from Brooklyn 99, "I've only had Arlo for a day and a half, but if anything happened to him...". Well, that's how I feel about Everlog. No other journalling app has ever given me exactly what I needed like this one, encouraging me to write in little bursts and with a friendly UI and UX that looks good, and just works. I really feel SO unbelievably happy to have found Everlog, it's indispensible to me now! It has helped my mental health to have something like this to jot down thoughts in on mobile or Mac whenever I need. And the developer is very responsive and updates with improvements frequently as well! I hope this app becomes as popular and successful as it deserves!.Version: 1.6.9

Suggestion: “make people feel a little better about being productive”When applying Everlog as a shortcut, it suggests a 7-day average for word count. I look at this with doubt and remember the days of the week I didn’t write, which statistically brings down my average. I feel happier and more productive when I write, and seeing a higher average word count has become a mini-challenge for me lately. I think more people would feel better to see a higher average for their daily goals, so here’s what I suggest: using the trimmed mean as the new way to track word count for users so computing the mean of the middle 80% of your data, while ignoring the top and bottom 10% (which excludes outliers and suggests a more accurate representation of average writing habits) please consider! (: -Matilyn.Version: 1.4.5

Great app, laggy on macOSI found this app last month, and I already have the premium version because I think it's worth it. it's the only cross-platform app I know of and markdown support is a nice touch, but currently the Mac app sometimes gets pretty laggy when I am typing. While I do have a lot of entries, this does not happen on my iPad..Version: 1.6.5

App is AMAZING!!!What I love the most is adding pictures to my journal entries. This app is amazing and well worth the money! I have been using it like crazy. Hope you guys continue to add more to the app and keep up the great work..Version: 2.1.6

AmazingIncredible functionality compared with others on the App Store, smooth interface, everything you’d ever need to micro journal. Wish you could change the accent colour from red though - I find it a bit in-your-face. Surely this could be added as a option? Thanks for building this amazing app!.Version: 1.8.5

PoemsI occasionally get and verse in my head. I am able to record these words here. I like it..Version: 2.2.15

One Notable Flaw, Otherwise FantasticI’ve explored the ins and outs of this app and it’s everything I want it to be (the lifetime premium gives me confidence in its longevity, that and the excellent UI gives it an upper hand) with one exception. After about 400 words in an entry on IOS, any further words I type are invisible. They show on the keypad for spellcheck but it appears to coincide with the scroll limit and black border whilst editing a specific entry. I would very much prefer to have a single entry for each day, so this limit is a considerable problem for me. Fix it to at the very least not allow typing past that point and I’ll be more content with it. If it could allow and display longer entries (preferably up to 2,000+ words), then I’d be very happy for that. (It’d be 5 star material imo).Version: 2.3.13

So far love this app...with a couple of downsidesOverall... this app is Great! Especially when you consider that you have the option of a One-Time payment, in a world of Subscriptions. This app has almost everything I would want, or need? I would like an Apple Watch widget (I believe they're working on that). But, that's minor thing. The only other thing that I don't like at all, is the Export Options. It would be great to have a formated PDF option. The current options don't really cut it. Besides that...Great App! And, something that will definitely help you Journal Daily..Version: 2.3.13

Feels like I’ve been waiting for this app all my life…There’s something that’s very hard to pinpoint about journaling apps, something that requires good design, UI and UX that makes it pleasurable and easy to open an app every day to enter thoughts. Day One and many other apps have failed me on this front. The short and sweet minute-by-minute log of Everlog is exactly what I wanted from a journalling app - something that makes noting thoughts feel more like messaging a friend or writing a tweet than having to come up with a grand essay for every day. Who has time for that? I’ve only used this app for a little while, but it absolutely nails it on a baseline of functionality. I love being able to jot something down in any number of coloured ‘journals’ and have it show up in a timeline together or separately! There’s still a bit of room for this app to grow to be as pleasurable to write longer/more complex content in as something like Noto, but since I first wrote this review the developer has already pushed two updates with user improvements in a week(!), and even if the app never updated again, it would still be one of my favourites of all time. Thank you to the creator - it’s been an absolute delight to use so far, and it’s genuinely changed my life for the better!.Version: 1.6.9

This is what I’ve been looking for.A simple, integrated, and private journal with comments and tags. I love that I can engage with myself on my terms and not be violated. The Mac-integration through iCloud is really essential too. It would be really cool to see the addition of audio to this. Would love to capture voice memos when thats the preferred method..Version: 2.1.2

I love this appThis might actually be one of my favorite apps of all time. It’s so simple, I’m constantly impressed by the design, and it makes me feel so much better knowing I now have such a lovely place to store all my thoughts and important dates..Version: 1.5.4

Only thing that would make this app better....Would be if users could drop in images into entries. i use this function very often as a teacher and artist on the notes app and would love to move all of my note taking over onto everlog. i think all sorts of folks would enjoy this function if it was available. other than that - i love the ability to have catergories/diffferent folders aka different journals, i love the color coding function, i love the data syncing on phone and mac (mac version is a bit laggy), i love the simple format..Version: 1.7.1

Used for a week. My thoughtsThe app feels intuitive and minimalist; exactly as marketed. Not a big fan of the premium option as it doesn’t give you that many reasons to get premium (having a passcode lock shouldn’t require premium, it’s free on apps like Instagram). But so far this app seems to be doing its job really well. I feel much better after venting out a wall of text on this app..Version: 1.4.6

Liking it so far but needs a couple more featuresWould love it if it had an ‘on this day’ option where you can look back at something from maybe a year ago from example. Also would be great if we can add photos into the journal posts. Picking a date to go back to needs to be easier, so would be good if you can incorporate a date picker into the calendar..Version: 1.2.1

Like having a second brain. The app is quite powerful. I litterally treat this like having someone to empty my brain into. everything is searchable. You can keep multiple journals. Furthermore you can dictate if each one is searchable or note. Gives you the chance to empty the unnecessary thoughts and free up your mind..Version: 2.3.9

So Perfect and Easy!So simple to use with so many extra personalizations. Start on one device and switch to another throughout the day seamlessly! On top of how great this journal is...the personal support you get from the developer, Wessley! Still not convinced, take advantage of a trial period or use it only for a year. You will be renewing that subscription!.Version: 2.1.6

Keeps getting betterLove Everlog and use it daily. It keeps getting better. And a very committed and helpful developer 😊.Version: 2.2

My Journal Forever! The Everlog app is definitely the most beautiful journal app ever released in the App Store making journaling rather an addiction!.Version: 1.8.5

Ask a question, get an answer! Impressive!I had an issue with being unable to attach photos to my daily journal entries. I looked up the developer’s name and sent him an email describing the problem. He personally answered the first email within a day. The issue wasn’t resolved so I emailed details. Next day: step by step help as to how to solve the problem. I didn’t expect an answer to my first email, so I’m impressed that he cared enough to answer, even to sending a follow up making sure I was fully satisfied with the product and the service, Which I am ! sks.Version: 1.6.5

This has become my go-toEverlog has become a fantastic go-to app for me! The recent update has me impressed and excited to continue using the app. For day to day journaling, it’s my favorite. It’s a beautifully built app, works smoothly, provides a nice set of features without being cumbersome, and has become THE place where I store important thoughts & reflections..Version: 1.8

Perfection.Perfection!. The only thing that would make it better. Would be the ability to draw, sketch, or scribble. And also to have undated notes.Version: 2.2.10

Good experience with caveatsThis is the app I’ve been wanting. The basic experience is pretty good. Some things are about odd like requiring custom shortcuts for some markdown insertion and the syncing seems to glitch. The writing stats doesn’t seem to work either. All of that said I’ll keep using it because it does what I want. I hope the little issues get corrected..Version: 2.2.14

Best JournalThis is by far the best journal and the most user friendly..Version: 1.8.5

GreatUsed to be a DayOne user, and while I don’t have any faults to say about it, Everlog just seems to have a more pleasing aesthetic for me. I journal on it multiple times a day, and have just been enjoying the overall experience. The ability to export and import journal entries from one app to another is just perfect, and I much prefer having my journal entries stored on iCloud instead of a third party server. I have requested that the developer creates some addition Home Screen widgets, similar to the Lock Screen widgets - where you can see your streaks - and the developer has been really supportive and communicative. The prices for the premium version are also a little more economical than Day One, so I’m happy there too..Version: 2.0.1

Consistent scribing across platformsUsing the iOS and MacOS platforms, I have a very comfortable experience, with access to all of the features sets. I just open the device, access Everlog, and I’m immediately immersed into a known creative environment. Well Done! Integration of external devices, such as bluetooth keyboard input, is well implemented. Potential is there (not yet available) to minimize floating tool palettes that conflict with iOS keyboard settings palettes. The developer is prompt, knowledgeable, and tactful to respond to “blips” (ex Daylight Saving Time) (markdown syntax issues) (hashtag mix-ups). Anything that I have mentioned is usually resolved in 48 hours or less, with a response time of minutes to 4 hours. Kudos for supporting your app subscribers! My most appreciated Everlog feature: the iCloud sync works — first time, every time. And that’s why I changed from a certain app, Evern__, that failed to deliver the fundamental core feature of daily journaling app: keep one’s data secure, accessible, with formatting intact. Everlog, the app, deserves your careful consideration and support..Version: 2.2.7

Great appI've used this app only for a week or so now but it's the perfect, most aesthetically pleasing journally app I've ever used. It lacks the features of the bigger journally apps but the developer appears to listen to user feedback and implement features in response. I'll be supporting this developer with this great app..Version: 2.1.5

I feel safe in this appBeautiful typography and incredibly well-designed notes app. I never really liked journaling because I can get so in my head about what I’m writing. Here, it feels easy to jot down passing thoughts! Having some control to organize notes into different categories definitely helps me to not be so precious. P.S. a calendar app from you guys would be an instant YES for me. Think about it...Version: 1.0.2

So simple and easyI have really enjoyed this app. The layout is very simple and it’s easy to create new journal entries. It’s fun to look back at the days I have written throughout the month. It’s simple, yet elegant in a way and I think it’s perfect. I have never consistently stuck with writing journals and for once, this app helps me easily reflects on life. I can create word count goals and I simply turn on the microphone and talk so I don’t even have to type. It would be cool if there was an ability to create a printed out version of my journals throughout the year along with the pictures that I add..Version: 2.2.10

Frictionless journalling, clean UI, good organisation featuresThe other journalling app I currently use was feeling bloated with features I don’t use, so I gave Everlog a go. Multiple journals and tags have been useful organising my thoughts but the real standout feature has been the ability for me to comment on my prior entries and have those comments show on both the current day and alongside the original entry. The only thing stopping me from fully switching my journalling to Everlog is an “On this day” feature that shows all entries on that day from over the years. Without this I’m unlikely to ever read entries older than a month again, with this feature I know what I write is never more than a year from being seen again. It would also wonderfully complement the comment feature, being able to add a comment with a years (or more) perspective on what I previously wrote..Version: 1.6.9

Everlog is extremely usefulI’ve been using Everlog for a while now. Easy to enter info, can style the fonts, fast to load, low cost. Records are all available on all devices, yet separated into iPhone, Mac, iPad which is handy. Regardless of Journal’s arrival, I’ll stick with the better features in Everlog..Version: 2.3.2

This is excellentWhy has it taken so long for me to find this excellent Diary/Journaling App? It's a mystery. Simple, lean and clean interface. Just the right balance of features and simplicity (an 'elegant simplicity'). Multi-platform support. Markdown! I've given it 4/5 stars only because it doesn't have a Help feature yet, either in-app or online. Some may find it useful if it was clear what Markdown is supported, or how '{placehold} syntax' works in Templates. But that's a quibble. Really, it's great..Version: 2.2.9

Great app but i really hopes it get a voice recording optionGreat app guys i just wish there was a voice recorder in the app so i more efficiently recored my thoughts please if you could have that as an option it would be so much better guys.Version: 2.1.2

You know what’s annoying?Customers who waste their time writing petty reviews of what is otherwise a good product. Get rid of the constant ratings request. Honestly. It’s super annoying..Version: 2.2.15

The BestAbsolutely clean and simple journal. The best I could find. Others are either too flashy or have too much clutter. This is perfect.Version: 2.3.12

I love this appTo me, paying a monthly or annual fee for a journal just seems crazy. I really appreciate the fact that you can just buy this app, unlock everything and be done with it. The interface is pleasant, I appreciate all of the features it offers and to me, it’s everything you need for a great journaling experience. Buy a $30 Bluetooth keyboard with a slot for your phone or iPad and then boom, you’ve got a free write for less than $100. It’s also nice that you can sync between all of your devices. If I feel like just jotting something down on my phone while I’m out, I can. If I want to use my Mac, I can and if I want to use my Bluetooth keyboard and go sit in the sun to write, I can. It’s great! I can’t praise it enough. It saved me a lot of money and that’s something I always appreciate..Version: 2.3.2

Love itI like to take notes during the day as reminders or just jot down ideas. This app makes it so easy to do just that. And the fact that I can use it on my phone, iPad, laptop and desktop makes it even better. Dont have to be tied down to one place. Other apps have some of the same features, but this one makes you want to write..Version: 2.3.6

Does just what I needI know it’s not the fanciest journaling app in the App Store, but I’m not a fan of subscriptions and this one had the option for a one time payment. The interface is clean and elegant. Could use slight tweaks in the visual presentation but overall it’s great. It’s been years since I’ve kept a journal and this has put me in a place of writing everyday now for a month. I’m glad it’s a blank slate and that I can just write whatever comes to mind. The more I use it the more I find it useful as I’ve now begun taking notes at church in the app. I figure it’s just an important for posterity to know of spiritual impressions as it is for my life. The developer is extremely quick at listening to and making changes. If he’s interested I’m sure I can come up with a list, but in the meantime I’m happy with what he’s created. I use this app with an external keyboard on an iPhone and initially had issues with reading the text on a scrolling post. He fixed it promptly. Only issue I’m having is that I purchased the lifetime plan and can’t seem to get the MacBook to see the same plan and it’s asking me to purchase it again. Looks like the purchase it still showing pending and so fingers crossed once it’s showing finished I won’t have an issue anymore..Version: 2.1.2

The best journaling appOne of the best journaling app I've used on both desktop and phone! It has everything I need and yet still super simple and minimal. Syncs between the desktop and mobile app perfectly. It's also more affordable than the mainstream competitor..Version: 2.2.12

My Journal app!Love this journal app, it’s my favourite for its minimalistic design and simplicity. Thank you!.Version: 1.6

Great App, But Some SuggestionsI absolutely love this app, I use it all the time. Some people are saying that you don’t need a subscription for privacy, but just get a lock on your phone. Anyways, I have a few suggestions for the app that might make it a little better than it already is: - Check-listing features - Font changer - Headers - Second journal for non pro users.Version: 1.0.2

Awesome! Unstable on macOSI wrote a review of this app before asking for Markdown checklists, and was delighted to find the developer added support for them! I paid for the Premium lifetime upgrade. While the mobile and iPad apps are beautiful, the Mac app is very sluggish—the text lags far behind as I type, and window resizing is very slow. I'd love to see more optimizations made to the Mac app to compliment the speed and slickness of the iPhone and iPad apps. Much love to the developer for adding my suggestion!.Version: 2.2.3

Perfect journaling appThe interface is SO clean, and it has exactly all the features I need. Love the sync between devices. Was so easy to import my journal from Day One and continue right where I left off. Great work!!!.Version: 2.1.8

Totally brilliantBy far the neatest, best-designed journaling app out there, at a very reasonable price. It can even be used for task management or other kinds of project tracking if you wish, especially with the new checkbox feature. The instant timelog feature is outstanding for time tracking, as is the continuous timeline. You can create as many separate journals as you like, too, so keeping track of and zeroing into habits, exercise and so on is really easy – and that's before you start playing around with tags. This has embedded itself in my daily habits much more effectively than any journaling app I've tried before..Version: 1.8.4

Simple and easy to use!I’ve been trying a lot of different journaling/dairy apps, this is so far my favourite. Totally suits my styles!.Version: 2.1.2

Best journaling app out thereThis app has all the features you need, but also stays out of your way when you don't need them. Great for journaling, note-taking, checklists, or maintaining a library of text..Version: 2.3.4

Great journaling app with markdown and suggestion integrationI’ve used a few journaling apps and this is my new favorite. I’ve tried 5 minute journal and obsidian. Things I like. - Markdown support. What you see is what you get. - Templates, bookmarking, nested entries. - Local saving. Everything stored locally or an sync using iCloud. - Reflection - Shows an entry from this day a year ago. - Metrics - Consistency in journaling. - Simple interface. - Support for multiple journals. I haven’t played with this yet. Things I wish it had. - More reflection options based on a fine-grained detail. For example, I created a morning reflection template with specific fields. It would be nice to see this section reflection. Another example, same template, I list a song that was inspirational for that day or things I’m grateful for today. Nice to have but not necessary. Great journaling or other notetaking app..Version: 2.3.13

Next Level Journaling 📓I fell in love with the elegant design and user friendly features. Every feature is easy and yet encourage you to write more. I am amazed with its customer support, focused on privacy. It offers a clean interface, passcode protection, and iCloud syncing. ⭐️🌟✨💫🌟.Version: 2.3.10

This app was perfect until it crashedThis app was seriously so perfect for a journal in every way, but today it crashed as i was writing an entry and i lost every single entry that i had ever written and i honestly am devastated. please fix this for future users for this app..Version: 2.1.6

Absolute delight to use!My word how I wish I had been using Everlog for years. I’m in love with it’s simplicity and thoughtful design. Feels super native to the system and a lot of great OS conventions. I imported 11 years history from another app and the migration was seamless..Version: 2.1.6

Excellent!Perhaps a little limited in its functionality, Everlog is nevertheless a great app for recording daily journals - and being able to export them to, for example, CSV format..Version: 1.5.1

Add a feature for videosThis is a really great app! one thing i’d like though is the option to add videos and not just photos to your entries. for example, if you record some videos at a concert and want to store them in your journal for memory purposes so you don’t have to rely on your camera roll. it would be a fun idea, anyway..Version: 2.2.10
