Constantly logs out, refreshes between appsI along with a number of others in the app store reviews for this app have reported that there are constant issues of the app logging you completely out between sessions, refreshes your search if you switch out and back into the app, and does not cache data to work when connectivity is poor. The app has not been updated on over 6 months, but these issues have been happening long before that and needs fixed. There is no reason why you should be constantly logged out between sessions. If you are on an item lookup page, if you quickly switch to another app then come back, it resets the app, which makes things extremely difficult if you are trying to research or copy and paste other data. Also it does not cache the data properly. Since going into warehouse stores can cause connectivity issues and they don't offer wifi at the stores, getting to "my list" to retrieve your coupons can be extremely difficult and annoying to deal with when you're trying to check out at the register. This app needs a complete overhaul to fix all of these severe bugs and issues. It makes the company look bad when not able to handle the iOS app. And as mentioned it is not just me. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app as customer service would tell you to do does not fix the issue if the app itself contains all of these bugs. The iOS team needs to fix all of these issues..Version: 10.75.13

Could definitely be improvedI debated on giving this app two stars, but since I am a glass half full type of person, I gave it three. I like that I’m able to see all of the items that I am looking for, and whether or not they’re in stock at my local store. But it is extremely frustrating but every time I open up a text message, take a call, or close the app for any reason-whenever I get back to it (rather it is five seconds or five minutes later) it refreshes and takes me directly to the homepage. In other words, whatever I was looking at, I have to search for again. It is so very frustrating! Please fix this. I also wish that I was able to place orders for pick up or shipping on the app, instead, I can only make lists and have to go to the website either on my phone or laptop to place a pick up order or shipping order..Version: 10.74.5

Love Harbor Freight But NOT the AppThe app’s search function doesn’t work. I’m disabled, so I’m not driving from store to store pricing a set of pliers. I WANT to buy from Harbor Freight, but when I put “pliers” in the search it returns “0” results. Now, I KNOW Harbor Freight sells plenty of pliers & if I go into the shopping categories & into “Hand Tools”, there’s an entire “Pliers” section. So why won’t any come up if I search “pliers”? Then I go into the “contact us” so I can submit feedback about it, I go through the process of writing about it, but the feedback form says there’s an “error & can’t be submitted”, but doesn’t say where the error is & all the required fields are entered properly, but no matter what, will NOT fix the “error” message, so cannot possibly submit feedback, which is so, so bad for any company. Just a terrible waste of time & frustrating. Makes me not shop at harbor freight..Version: 10.75.13

Harbor Freight ReviewSo my point of view when I am rating this review is coming from the perspective of someone who actually works for the company. I use this app frequently at the register when I’m trying to find coupons for customers or trying to sell memberships. Usually whenever you search up an item number on the app it would show you if there was any coupons or ITC discounts associated on that specific item. Recently however when I search up specific items, the coupons and ITC discount information doesn’t show up immediately with the item search. Now I know this doesn’t sound like a big deal but when I am working with a customer I need to know quickly whether or not there are ITC discounts associated with that item so I could use that information in a sales pitch to try to sell a membership. If there was anything that could be done I wish it could just go back to where if you search up an item, coupons and associated with that item would show up immediately. I think this would not only be beneficial for employees like myself, but would also be beneficial for customers looking to find coupons and get a good deal. It would make customers happy and be more willing to come back and HFT stores program numbers would be better. This is just my personal feedback that I feel would make the app better..Version: 10.70.21

Love the store, but website trumps the appThis would be a five star app if was just a link to their website in a browser. Two stars because you use it like that in a few clicks if you memorize how, but I just set up a link on my homescreen and deleted the app. If you like to download apps for stores where you don’t have account (what?why?), then you might like this. Unless you have an account, in which case you’ll only be able to access it from the website. I’d say nice try, but did they try? Maybe there’s a business reason, but it’s not my business. I still shop there, even though I have no access to the shopping list I created on my iPad from my iPhone. That is until I started over using the website. Here’s what I would like to see in the app: My ITC account info, total ITC savings, past purchases or a “my tools section” for manuals, warranties, accessories, and parts. Maybe some smart feature like alerting me when an accessory for tools I own goes on sale or when new ones come out..Version: 10.74.5

No hard feelingsHarbor Frieight has made some improvements in some tools, however I noticed the increase in pricing. Any further I don’t think it’ll be worth buying anything there. The extra low prices is what made it worth it. My second thought is why can’t online purchasing and curbside delivery be done? Lastly, the people at the store could use some on the job training in products and their uses. Maybe section the store according to product and an employee in each area for better service. Also, serious attention and training needs to be done in customer care. The store seems empty until I see them all grouped together at the front socializing. Whenever I ask for assistance, it isn’t a satisfying experience. They seem curt, annoyed, impatient or not very knowledgeable. The willingness to help is minimal. Or I feel brushed off if not given an oh well shrug. I mean they aren’t outright rude, but not friendly most of the time. There was one girl who checked me out the other night right at closing and she was really friendly. She is rare at that store. That is all for now. Thanks for asking. Missing productsThe app is fairly usable but seems to be missing a LOT of the Harbor Freight items. I Frequently search for things on the app that don’t show up and I have to go to the website to find them. Example in the app go and search for icon pliers, like 6-7 show up then go to the website and there are twice that amount. HF is Missing out on a lot of sales if people don’t know to go to the website. Also not app specific but very very unknown secret that many of your hand tools sets have replacement singles available. You have to search online for HF pdf parts to scroll an outdated pdf to see them. I see people asking all the time that lost a single wrench or socket that want to replace it and most get told to go to other vendors to buy it because they don’t know single icon sockets or wrenches for example can be bought. That is two fold, one the customer doesn’t buy the replacement part from HF and two it now introduces them to a different brand that they may return to for purchases later on rather than staying with HF brands like ICON.Version: 10.75.13

Sign in feature is nice, but could be improvedBeen using this for years now and have been enjoying it for the most part. It comes in very handy to keep track of coupons and browse for items in and out of store. The only problem was not being able to sign in and sync your wish list with the desktop site. They finally added this feature so you can sync your wishlist. However, the app signs you out too frequently. It won’t stay logged in for more than a couple hours and when it signs you out your wishlist items disappear. It’s really frustrating to have to sign in every time you want to use the app. At least add Face ID so isn’t so tedious. Something else that could make the app better is to add a purchase history section to track warranties, write reviews, etc..Version: 10.75.13

It’s up and runningSo far it seems like the app is working great. I can see all the coupons (I don’t think it has insider track stuff) and search tools through the app. I’ll be using this a lot if it continues to work. Update: It’s been about 5 months now and they did update the look a little and they do have the ITC deals. There are actual coupons out there for Harbor Freight but not a single one is in it. If you want to buy something, you still have to go to the website. You can’t link your account up with it, but to be fair, you can’t really do that online either. I can add my membership information online but I have to do that each and every time. Their system is severely lacking and I guarantee between that and not being able to order online to go pickup at the store definitely hurts some of their sales. I originally gave them a 5 star because it was new and was just happy they had something. They don’t get that benefit anymore..Version: 10.61.12

Digital couponsThe new system has been very problematic. I’m sure HF is saving a ton of money while reducing waste, but at the expense of customer service and frustrated associates. I’ve made three large purchases with multiple digital coupons and everyone of them has a roughly 25% fail rate on the coupons being correctly appt. I’ve been made to track the codes and verbal them whilst the line kept growing and the cashiers made snide remarks to shift the blame on me for their lack of ability to process the coupons. ‘How dare I use so many at once’ . I frankly don’t give a crap and expect the advertised prices and at least mediocre customer service. I’ve seen other customers just walk away from frustration. Dear HF. Please streamline this process and retrain the associates on basic service skills like being professional and ownership of their jobs. This process is creating a rift on client relations that will cause some to change their minds about doing buisness with the company..Version: 10.57.5

Glitchy and slowApp often crashes runs slow or just doesn’t work at all. However on the rare occasion the app functions as it should, the ability to view prices and special deals is great but until the app is improved it is nothing but a hassle to use. The most unreliable feature in the app is the information regarding the current stock of each item. I have found it to be completely incorrect multiple times after seeing an item is at a location then traveling to a location only to find the item displayed in the app as instock to be out of stock. Sometimes I’m told that they don’t know why it says there 7 instock cuz they havnt had any instock for a long time or the app is updated ahead of items actually arriving to a store. Last time this occurred the app displayed 3 instock but when I arrived at the store I was told that the item was currently out of stock but there was 3 scheduled to be delivered the following night.Version: 10.74.5

Frustrating to useI’ve had this app all of five minutes and I’m already about to uninstall it. I have an iPhone and most apps and web pages you can swipe across the screen to go back a step/page. This app you cannot. I discovered that while looking at an item. I was trying to swipe back to the list of items. Okay, no big deal. I’ll just manually go back to the list…oh no I won’t. Because there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that. So every time I was done looking at an item I had to just click on “products” at the bottom of my screen, which took me back to the main products page. I then had to click back through the different departments/items in order to get back to the items I had just been in. I specifically was looking at automotive jacks and had to go back into automotive, then into jacks, then scroll down to find the one I’d just been looking at, then go to the next one. And so on and so forth - I was comparing jacks and had to do this process a gazillion times and now I’m just irritated. What an asinine thing to do in an app where you’re trying to entice people to buy things. Why on earth would you make it more difficult for people to spend their money with you? 🤦🏻‍♀️.Version: 10.74.5
