AmazingMy son is in French school, and isn’t learning to read in English yet. I am so grateful this app follows the “science of reading” method with phonics, and has us learning how to read in English. I also love the grown up prompts, helps me understand everything that he is learning..Version: 4.6.23

We loved this reading app!We absolutely enjoyed using the reading app. It’s the only app/reading program that helped my child read. My child is a fluent reading now and enjoys reading more than anything! Thank to the creators of this app, we are truly grateful..Version: 4.7.07

Helps you teach your child with confidenceI’ve used multiple apps and books to promote reading to my child . I can say this app was well thought out!! With confidence, my child is reading within a week. I plan on completing all the lessons.. I think it goes to 99 but my child and I are here for it!!! This app AND THE RESULTS paved the way for my 2 and 1 month olds . It’s guaranteed to work and that gives me confidence!.Version: 2.8

It works! My daughter is going into first grade. She struggled a bit with reading in kindergarten and even went to summer school, but was resisting practicing with us. I saw an ad for this game and figured I’d do the free trial. A week in and it has really been working! The sliding bar in the “books” is helping her slow down and sound out each letter rather than guess the words. She’s been even using the skills on actual books! Free trial expired and I’m now happily paying for it! It was the boost she needed!.Version: 4.5.34

Best Way to Teach Children to ReadMy son and I started using this app after he turned 4. My goal was for him to be able to read before he starts Reception (we are currently in England). We spend a few minutes almost everyday and he has enjoyed all of our sessions. It is amazing how his little mind works and picks up the method of learning with full cooperation and participation (sliding letters, writing)as well as play (I let him do the games after a lesson as a reward). After a few sessions he has been reading books independently, and different signs and statements he can see around him. His teacher has commended him for his reading when he officially started school. My son enjoys reading. We read different books daily. As a parent, I definitely recommend this app. I know it comes with a small cost but the progress and success it brings paves a long way..Version: 4.7.13

Finally, a subscription app that is actually worth the money! We have tried countless educational apps to add to our homeschool curriculum and truly feel that this is the most effective and well-designed reading app available..Version: 4.0

Our favorite reading appWe have loved using the Raising Readers app! We used it with my 6 year old, and he loved it! The Raising Readers app was the most engaging of the different reading methods we tried. Our 6 year old is a busy guy, and Raising Readers kept him engaged and looking forward to checking in regularly..Version: 1.6

Using with my 6 year old granddaughter to learn to reaI tried the other apps like duolingo and abc mouse to help my granddaughter learn to read because she was behind in her 1st grade reading but they were just games and she was just picking random answers until she would “win” and she definitely didn’t learn much. I read to her every night but that didn’t teach her. I heard from a friend about this app so tried it and it’s a totally new thing. We do it together and she loves it every night! Well maybe we do 3 times a week but the progress was immediate and now she is actually reading words. The app has a very structured approach and takes the guess work out. I can not recommend this more and want to thank the makers..Version: 4.5.34

For AutismMy children are both autistic and struggle with speech and reading. This app is a lifesaver. My 7 year old is reading so well now and my 6 year old is finally able to understand his letters because of the amazing alphabet song this program has. I’m beyond thankful we have something that works for us because other programs were not working. I love how it’s quick so we don’t get burned out but actually works to teach my kids how to read..Version: 4.6.23

Very impressed with this app!It mirrors the philosophy of the “teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons” book. But in a more fun, walk-you-through, engaging way! I also appreciate the reminders about pacing your child’s learning.Version: 4.7.13

Love this appMy daughter is 5, she is in kindergarten. The teacher called me because my daughter is distracting the class and can’t do her work on time, I decided to give this app a try, she is on lesson 12 and we absolutely love it, she is learning so much and I’m so excited! Hopefully she can learn how to read by the end of the year..Version: 4.6.18

Sparked my sons love of readingAnd that spark has eluded us for some time now! My 4 year old is obsessed with this app. It’s given me the guidance I needed to help him to read and he was eager to “play” with me everyday. You take so much time to find the “right” products. I’m so glad I found this one. It’s an amazing gift..Version: 1.4

Takes Away all the GuessworkTeaching your child to read can feel like an overwhelming task. I’m SO happy that this app has taken away all the guesswork, allowing me to feel confident in teaching key reading skills to my daughter. Also, the alphabet song is 🔥🔥(we listen to it nonstop)!.Version: 1.5

This app is a God-sendThis has quickly become the best part of our morning routine. My two-year-old has jumped right in to learn along her 5-year-old brother. Both are engaged and clearly learning SO many skills necessary for reading, each presented in accessible, bite-size chunks. I stumbled upon this while looking for some positive screen time options, and now I’m delighted to realize I will help my child (maybe children?) learn to read this year. Thank you, to the developers, for making this so excellent! I honestly can’t imagine how it could be any better..Version: 4.2

AMAZING APP!!I never write app reviews but has to for this one! As a devious kindergarten and 1st grade teacher of 13 years, this app has SOOOO MUCH brain research behind it. My five year old’s confidence has soared as she is now reading real words on her own! She asks to do this app each day on her own since it’s not only educational but also extremely engaging! I wish I knew about this app when I was in the classroom. It’s incredible!.Version: 4.2

Daughter asks for it all the time. She loves it, I love it.My daughter absolutely loves this game. She asks for it everyday and knows her numbers enough to override the grownup settings and try to do more than one lesson a day. She loves the song and is excited about each of the modules. I had originally bought the book Teach your kids to read in 100 lessons, but was overwhelmed by where to start when I saw this app and it seemed similar. We took the assessment and started in lesson 12. I like that this app offers and assessment so we didn’t start at the begging and below her level. I like that modules that reinforce phonics, comprehension, letter recognition and letter writing and reading (the components behind the science of reading). The app itself is not buggy and is seamless on both my phone and the iPad. Overall this is a great app that we love. My only suggestion is that the grownup screen use simple addition rather than the word form of numbers, which is easy for a learning to read kid to override..Version: 4.2.18

PerfectThis is a great app for new and season readers. I love that it does an assessment test to place your child right where they need to be. Each lesson is easy to navigate and my kids love the sound sliders. Would definitely recommend!.Version: 4.6.38

My daughters love itIt is a beautiful educational game. But one thing about it is it says you require a subscription for most of the games. I also love this because it will not let you skip a level or go to a new one you have to finish one to go to another.Version: 4.6.18

Awesome Reading App!!My 5yr old absolutely loves this app and actually looks forward to “playing” with it almost everyday! It’s screen-time that I never feel guilty about because I know he’s learning so much and after just a few weeks of using it I can see such a great improvement in his reading skills! Highly recommend!.Version: 2.5

Best reading resource ever!I have six kids, and have homeschooled since my oldest was in kindergarten. When I say I’ve tried every app and most reading resources, I’m not lying! I’m currently using this app with two of my kids. This is the exact program I’ve been longing for all these years! To actually see both my kids (a boy and a girl with different learning styles) learn and enjoy reading….Version: 4.3.20

Teaches your child to read in weeks! If you’re looking to teach your child to read, don’t look any further. I can’t say enough about this app. The longer I have had it, the more impressed I have been! So don’t be like me and think that the one week trial will suffice. You’ll want to get this app for several months at least! This app has completely taught my son how to read. He is 5 and went into the app knowing his letters, sounds and a few sight words. As a teacher, I’ve been so impressed by the effective method of teaching how to decode words. And as soon as they learn that skill, they can read anything! I have felt like the student with this app also and will be using the methods taught in this app to help my students understand how to begin reading. The English language is so complex, and they have thought of everything from teaching and explaining decoding through letter sound recognition and blends, while simultaneously teaching sight words that cannot be sounded out (ex. The) . The app is extremely engaging (even compelling the child to continue on and strive for future lessons when they can earn a new game/ book, etc!). The customer service team has been quick to respond, kind and generous. I had a few questions, and they answered me within hours! Even my three year old has enjoyed playing some of the games, and trying out some of the early levels. I will continue to introduce the app to him at a slower pace and I know it will help him out tremendously. I am so impressed!.Version: 2.8

Great App, Needs More ContentThis app is great. My 4 year old daughter has started reading some words on her own after just 19 lessons (granted this is a supplement to other homeschool curriculum). My only complaint so far is that the alphabet song is the only music. Really? You only have ONE song? I understand that repetition is important for learning but I can’t bear to hear the song anymore and make my kids skip it. 19 days in a row of the same song and I can’t stand it anymore. It’s torture..Version: 4.6.27

Quick results!I’ve been looking for a resource that will help me teach my daughter to learn to read, and this is the best one I’ve tried! This app tells me exactly what to do as the parent during the lesson, which is amazing because I did not know if I was teaching the right skills at the right time when I was using worksheets with her. We are on lesson 20, and she is reading the books and learning so quickly! I highly recommend this to any parent. My daughter asks to do her reading lesson each day, that’s crazy!❤️.Version: 4.5.34

Not sure who likes it moreMy little boy and I have a blast playing (learning!) with this together. He loves it, but even more, *I* love it as it’s fun, keeps him interested, and best of all, is a great tool for us to have quality time together. Highly recommend.Version: 1.5

He’s reading!I wish this was around when my first kid was trying to learn to read. My second is in kindergarten and already reading advanced comic books on his own thanks to this app. Love it.Version: 4.5.34

Love it! Just wish it was just one price, not subscription.Kids and teaching side of me loves almost everything about it and My kids love it! Just reallllyyyyy wish they had a one time payment option. It’s crazy to think I’ve spent over $100 using it for the past few years…..Version: 4.3.20

Really goodI’ve been using this with my 2 year old. The lessons are short and easy. He does get bored with it and sometimes we have to stop it he is reading three letter words and made it to level 10 which I didn’t expect since he is only 2.Version: 3.0

The best app for kids!My five year old daughter started to read by lesson 10! We’re at lesson 35 now and she’s starting to read books from the library. My only problem with this app is today my daughter took my phone, opened the app and got in by herself because she figured out how to read the written out numbers that allow parents to control the lessons lol.Version: 4.7.13

This got my kid readingI love this app and so does my kindergartener who seemed to be struggling with reading and sounding out words. Now she is sounding out words like a pro and curious about words she sees on signs. I would highly recommend this app. Customer support was also very responsive when I had questions regarding the family share feature. I hope they create a math app as well! Very well done!.Version: 3.0

Best app ever!My daughter was struggling and behind in kindergarten and we felt like we had tried everything and couldn’t get it to click in her head! We stumbled across this app and loved how involved the parents are with it so we went for it. IT WAS A GAME CHANGER! She is now up to her reading level and progressing every day! This app has been the most helpful for her and I can’t wait to use it with my 3 year old next!.Version: 4.7.13

Very smart, easy & fun!I love the design, the characters are so colorful and fun, kids love them. Especially the Alphabet song! It makes learning to read fun, and is better than other apps out there. Can’t recommend it enough!.Version: 1.6

FantasticI’ve been a primary teacher and reading specialist for 15 years. However, my own son (4) was struggling with just the desire to want to learn to read. We’ve been doing this app for 6 weeks and he is sounding words out beautifully, knows all of the letter sounds, segmenting spoken words, and just loving playing word games now. I have been so impressed with this app, I’ve been sharing it with all of my teacher/mom friends. This is a great investment in my child’s education..Version: 4.7.13

StellarWe loved this app so much! It's everything I could ask for- collaborative, covering the essential first set of reading skills, highly engaging and motivating. I used this for three kiddos to reinforce tutoring and they are all now excelling above grade level among their peers! Thank you!.Version: 4.7.07

Reading at 3 years oldMy daughter completed these lessons just after she turned 3 and now, a few months later, reads at a Grade one level or beyond. She had shown very early signs of reading readiness and had enjoyed other reading apps. But this app was by far our favourite. She excelled at reading the books and liked the “I can read!” way they are structured. Little things like the characters helped motivate her. I appreciated the adult involvement - this is not an app you just use to distract your child while you get other things done. Highly recommend!.Version: 4.3.20

Best app for teaching reading skillsI have been using this app with 3 kiddos and it has been wonderful. One child went from knowing 7 sounds the whole school year to now knowing over 20 in the span of a month and a half. I cannot recommend this app enough to everyone who wants to teach their child how to read. It is fun, interactive and we love it..Version: 4.3.20

As a teacher, I can say it’s a fantastic appThere are certain things I look for when searching for additional help and resources that my students can use, and this app checked off all of them. It has great aids for audio, visual, and kinesthetic readers alike. I was greatly impressed with the thought and creativity—and obvious care— that was put into this app..Version: 2.3

Seasoned parent- Best program I’ve Used- thank you!So many things… the alphabet song is refreshing and fun! This program has been brilliantly put together. Using the sliders to blend sounds, parent tips(as a seasoned parent I taught three of my kids to read with various other programs) are helpful reminders. Short, clear lessons. Graphics are ADORABLE and not too busy- thank you! This program is impressive, it is clear a person with high standards put it together and used proven teaching techniques. I am impressed and happy to pay for this program. ".Version: 4.7.13

Get it!I was an early reader, so at 4 years old I expected my daughter would show more interest reading and I was so excited to teach her!! We got the 100 lessons to learn to read book and although I was impressed with it, she didn’t like the lessons and we’d end up frustrated at each other. It was a chore! Recently (she’s 5 1/2 now) discovered this app and I was reluctant to try because I don’t love paying for apps, but I’m so happy to say it’s been the best thing for us. She LOVES it. She asks me to “play” it every day. She’s actually reading and it’s only been a week!! We still have 50+ lessons to go, but its given her so much confidence already! I know this is the push she needed and we’re so grateful. Just finished the whole thing! ***** we loved it! Thank you!.Version: 4.7.13

Amazing gameThis app is fantastic. It has a lovely way of introducing new concepts in a fun way and it was accessible enough for my early reader to get engaged. She has learned a ton and we really enjoyed playing it together..Version: 4.7.13

Love it so farTeaching my 5 year old how to read and just learn her sounds has been such a struggle!! Was feeling hopeless. We’ve used some other “school” apps like Homer, KanAcademy and dulingo for kids, with no success. And even with at home curriculum we never make it very far before we just quit because I’m so frustrated and she can’t focus. We’ve done 7 lessons so far and she is the one reminding me to do them everyday. The alphabet song is great and actually teaches the sounds in a really fun song. The lessons are short and interactive and also make it so the parent has to be involved and do it with them. But still super simple and they go really fast. Neither of us gets burnt out. And even though she’s excited and wants to do more than one lesson, the program recommends doing only one a day. We haven’t been using it for very long, but I’ve seen more progress in her reading skills than ever before. Loving it and definitely recommend it..Version: 4.6.18

Beyond happyMy 4 yr old has been working with the app for 4 weeks and is reading sentences. She recognizes words wherever we are and can read them out loud! This is a fantastic learning tool and I highly recommend it to others..Version: 4.5.34

AmazingI’m doing this with my 3 & 5 year old at the same time & they’re both catching on so quickly. It’s so much fun for them. They get excited to do it daily. Before I tried to do a book that had the same lessons but my 5 year old got really bored. This is like a game to them & it’s working so much better..Version: 4.6.40

Nice for younger kidNice app and well developed. Only issue is having To go through all the easy things for my 7 year old to feel challenged later on. It’s a process but when it’s too easy it’s too boring.Version: 4.6.18

Easy to navigate! It’s so refreshing to see an app that’s easy to navigate for both adults and children. That alone is a 5 star worthy mention..Version: 1.5

A Game-Changer for Helping My Kid Learn to Read!Absolutely love this app for helping my little one learn to read! The interactive games are a hit and the lessons are just the right length to keep her engaged. I've seen real progress in just a few weeks. A must-have for any parent teaching their kiddo to read. Five stars!.Version: 4.5.34

Keeps logging me out and having to start all overI don’t know why on my iPad it keeps logging me out and I have to start the profile over every time but on my phone it works fine. I rather my daughter use the app on my iPad then phone. Other then that major pain I’d give the app 5 stars because my daughter loves it..Version: 3.0

Finally! Perfect Reading App for homeschool families! My preschooler asks me every afternoon if we can do our reading lesson and my 6 year old genuinely loves reading books—and does so on his own! I can’t say any of that would have been easy or even possible without this phonics app. After tons of research and talking with friends in elementary education, I know the methods of the app’s curriculum are sound. The lessons are easy to execute and my kids started showing progress in only a couple weeks. Plus, it gives us something enjoyable to do together that I don’t have to personally plan out ahead of time. It’s helped us build a lot of our family time around learning and reading. As a homeschool mom of three, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have found this app!.Version: 2.3

My daughter keeps wanting to use itMy daughter is in kindergarten and is so excited about letters and words. We’ve started using the app for her to get a feel for phonetics and seeing letters on the screen. It feels like a game to her and she loves the idea that it’s helping her learn to read. This will be a great companion over the next few months as we get into the school year..Version: 4.5.34

Amazing!Wanted to leave a review on this app. My son has so far competed 10 lessons. His Kinder teacher mentioned he was showing signs of dyslexia in October and that his test scores on reading and letters were not that great. We decided to download this app to see if we could improve his reading and letter knowledge. After speaking with his Kinder teacher today, she mentioned he has been doing great at blending his sounds, reading his letters, and his confidence has improved quite a bit. He has another assessment in a couple of weeks to check his progress, but so far so good! He gets very excited to learn off of this app & generally does two lessons a night. I love that it’s engaging & makes it fun for them to learn. The map part of the lessons are exciting for him as well as the extra content per lesson. Highly recommend!.Version: 4.6.29

Love this app!Started using this app with my 4 year old. He knew most of his letters and still struggled with some of the sounds. We haven’t done a huge number of lessons, but he just read his first book (BOB Books) all on his own using the simple teaching we learned from the lessons and games! Thank you so much! This has boosted his confidence to keep trying to read!.Version: 1.6

Enjoyed the visualsMy daughter was really excited about this game. She really liked the avatar idea and personalizing it. Having levels was fun and it felt like a video game!.Version: 1.5

Best reading appI will recommend this app to everyone I know with small kids. My son learned to read with it and he is advanced in his class. I don’t have to stress about teaching him how to read because this app does it for me. Really easy to use and understand. We love it!!!!.Version: 1.6

Great app!!Learn to read this is a great app! It is easy to use and extremely helpful . My son loves it and says it is funny! I like how it correct her mistakes. I can let her use this on her own and have confidence that is really learning and enjoying reading.Version: 4.6.27

EngagingMy child is super engaged and excited to use the app with me. The material isn’t hard but it’s still engaging for him. He really loves doing the lessons and playing the games. I’ve done some research on how to teach reading and the lessons are laid out exactly how they should be. Love this app!.Version: 4.7.07
