StoryGraph: Reading Tracker for Positive User Reviews

Almost greatI really love a lot of aspects of this app’s functionality around reviews since it gives a much fuller picture than a simple star rating. Personally that’s a much bigger draw for me than the ability to give fractional stars, but since they’re there I do also make good use of them. I haven’t made use of the reading challenges yet, but that’s on my list for this year. There are a few weird things with the design of the app that make it difficult to find things. For some reason, I always have a hard time remembering how to get to my own reviews to look at and edit them. I also have not been able to finish any of the handful of books I started after seeing them on their recommendation engine. Perhaps I just need to get more reading history into it, but the books I’m being recommended all seem to have very mediocre ratings and few to no reviews. On the one hand, it’s nice to not be recommended just a list of NYT bestsellers, but their current recommendation algorithm seems to be swinging too far in the other direction..Version: 1.2

The app has a lot of potential!Update: well I’m not always the brightest crayon in the box! Swiping to navigate never occurred to me but I appreciate the devs reaching out. Still adjusting as I’m a long time Goodreads user but I love the potential of this app and am exciting to begin using it more regularly. I’ve been playing around with this app for a short while. I really like how informative it is. Like other readers being able to vote if the book is more character or plot driven is such a cool idea. However navigating this app is so frustrating. Why are there no back buttons or arrows? Once I tap on reviews for a book, I have to go back to the homepage and look up the book again because there is no way to just go back to the page of the book I was looking at. Please please please give us some back arrows and make the app easier to navigate. Such a little thing that has been so annoying..Version: 1.10

Love this app!My friend and I always use this app when we buddy read (which is a lot) and it’s perfect. It doesn’t allow spoilers so if one of the people you are reading is up to say 50% of the book and you are only at 25% you can see the comments they have made until you too are at 50%. It’s perfect! My friend and I are both avid bookstagrammers and always recommend it to our friends for buddy reads and reading in general. The only thing I don’t like is how slow it can be..Version: 1.7

A great independent site + appI’ve been searching high and low for an alternative to Goodreads—for some reason, I wanted *all* of the same features so that I didn’t feel as if I were missing out on something. What I didn’t realize is how much those features drive me up a wall! I genuinely love Storygraph because it has helped me fall back in love with reading, not just *talking* about reading. Its goals are fun but not obnoxious to check in with, its catalogue is ever-growing, and its design is far more relaxing than Goodreads. Additionally, it means a lot to me that Storygraph is independent. I plan to subscribe after I finish cataloguing my library, and I urge you to do so as well. It’s not often that we find a website & amazing group of designers like the team behind Storygraph. They are transparent, creative, and hold a relationship with those that frequent the site. Cheers to more reading, with more vivacity than ever!.Version: 1.1

I’m so glad I switched.I joined StoryGraph in early 2022 and have used it almost every day since. I’ve never really been a fan of the one app I don’t want to name because they’re listening, and finding this app was the answer I was looking for. Is it perfect? No. But I don’t care because it has what I need for my personal reading journey. And I always recommend it to my friends to try. And for anyone complaining about the app from the start of January 2024, you should know this app is run only by three people and their servers were overloaded by how many of you signed up at once. Give them a break and wait an extra day or two, and your account and the app will be fine. Good lord. *eyeroll*.Version: 1.10

Fantastic! 🤓If you love reading and if you love keeping track of your reading/if you love stats, then this is the app for you. The free version of the app is fantastic and it keeps getting better as more features are added. I’m very happy to use it instead of Goodreads which is owned by Amazon. I’d much rather support a great small business started and owned by a woman of colour in the UK. It’s simply fantastic and everything I could want and need in an app like this. I especially love the end of year wrap up stats..Version: 1.7

Game Changer!I am so happy I found Storygraph to help me track my reading. I really enjoy the data you build as you record your books - it’s helped me to hone in on the genres and moods that I enjoy but also branch out to try things I would likely never read. I appreciate all of the changes they’ve made since the app was created, especially dark mode and the inclusion of a “did not finish” option (where you can leave yourself a comment as to why you stopped reading!!) Future me loves the DNF option. Truly, everything they’ve done so far has only made the app more accessible and helpful. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with!.Version: 1.6

My favourite book-tracking app!Nadia has developed the most incredible app! With the ability to rate and review books, see what friends are reading, get recommendations, and access so much data about my reading life, I have never had so many books on my TBR..Version: 1.10

Excellent app & site for readers with caring and lively devsI’ve been using the Storygraph for several years now and it is by far and away my favourite book app. I use it to learn about my reading habits, keep track of my books, make recommendations to friends, and do buddy reads. I have a long enough TBR already, but I hear their recommendations are excellent, and I often use the robust filtering system to find what I want to read next in my pile. I’ve also been following Nadia, the CEO, and the progress she and the (very small) dev team make via the newsletter, and it’s been a delight seeing the app grow. The team takes user feedback seriously and is constantly making improvements. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.10

Love, love this appI switched to StoryGraph in early 2022 after getting progressively more frustrated with “that other app”…the terrible ad-cluttered interface, lack of new development, and problematic ownership. TSG is a breath of fresh air and has literally changed my reading habits. I LOVE being able to see trends in my reading with the awesome graphs and to track what and how I want. The team, though small, is creative and incredibly responsive to user feedback. Cannot say enough about this app or its developers —I happily call myself a TSG evangelist!.Version: 1.10

Great alternative to GoodreadsEasy to use, great functionality, and importantly to me not owned and run by Amazon..Version: 1.1

Love many of the features but others are lackingI love the statistics available, recommendations, ability to rate with half and quarter stars, and the yearly wrap up. I’ve been using this app as my place to track my reading for over a year now. However, some features are just insanely lacking. It’s hard for me to be specific in just a review, but there are aspects of the user interface that are frankly not intuitive or too primitive when compared to competitors. The most annoying thing I’ve encountered though is how the community features work. For the longest time, I’d assumed that the feature for adding friends was broken but it turns out….. you have to opt IN for people to send you friend requests. This has been pretty annoying because now whenever one of my friends downloads StoryGraph I have to ask them to go out of their way and turn that on so we can be friends. That’s just adding friction to making people active users and is pretty ridiculous imo. I overall think this app serves its overall purpose as a book tracker pretty well, but little things like this make me question if I (and others) will continue using this platform long term..Version: 1.10

Absolutely love this appIndependently owned, well maintained, and provides fun stats on your reading. I love seeing the graph go up showing pages and number of books I have read. App works completely without premium so don’t worry you don’t need to pay. I am considering premium in the future when I have more disposable income to support this good app..Version: 1.2

Love the app, but…The overall functionality of the app is brilliant - using the camera for scanning barcodes - nightmare.. the constant import screen because the camera won’t detect the barcode is the letdown..Version: 1.11

A brilliant tool for readers of all typesI’ve tried many times to keep a reading spreadsheet but I always get overwhelmed and give up. StoryGraph takes all the stress out of tracking and analysing my reading data. And the best part is, it’s practically effortless. The various graphs are helpful and intuitive. I love that you can get information at-a-glance. Plus it’s actually information that I’m interested in seeing; it doesn’t present graphs just for the sake of presenting graphs. Although I’ve only been using it for a short while, I’m seeing habits and trends emerging that I’d never have recognised on my own. I particularly love the Moods and the Pace categories which are really interesting ways to break down the types of books you’re reading. Thanks so much for creating such an awesome, innovative platform!.Version: 1.0

Love it!Storygraph has helped me read so much more in the past few months! Between stats and reading challenges, it’s basically everything I didn’t even realise I wanted in a book tracker and then some. Looking forward to finding out where the site goes from here..Version: 1.0

Rapidly becoming my go-to book tracking platform!I’ve always been a reader. I started using another platform over a decade ago (pretty much the only one at the time!) but had been having reliability and usability issues with it for about a year when I discovered StoryGraph and decided to test it out. It has grown by leaps and bounds since then, has more features now than “other platforms”, and is a single feature away from becoming my primary choice in every way (and my understanding is that the last feature I rely on elsewhere is already in the works here!!). The customer service I receive from StoryGraph is light years better than other options. The communication from StoryGraph is commendable (especially when you consider they have only a tiny team of employees - small but mighty!). And downtime is honestly a minimum compared to other platforms - a little hiccup recently, during an unprecedented influx of new users when another platform was down, overwhelmed StoryGraph temporarily but it was communicated and fixed in a reasonable time, so if that was your first/only impression, know that it was the ONLY time I have experienced an outage in the 15 months I’ve been actively using it. I LOVE this platform more every new feature release. Give it a real opportunity to win you over as well!.Version: 1.10

Best reading app hands downStorygraph is absolutely brilliant. It’s got so many interesting stats and graphs about your books — and not only the books you’ve read, but also tbr and owned books. I’m talking trackers and charts for moods, pacing, page count, most-read authors, genres, formats… the list goes on! It’s such a good app and it’s independent too, ran by a tiny team of the most amazing people who really care and do a brilliant job. Thank you team Storygraph!!.Version: 1.10

Book Club TBRI love the app and even got my friend on so we could start a book club! We would just love to be able to create a separate”bookshelf” for you joint TBR rather than it all going into our regular TBR. Is there a way that you can incorporate TBR bookshelves where you can categorise your TBR. Otherwise 4.5 stars! Love it 😊.Version: 1.2

Amazing App!!So many great features.Version: 1.3

Do you read? Then download this!!Fantastic app for avid and occasional readers. I love the graphs it creates, and the challenges from other readers. I think this app has made me read more often too..Version: 1.3

Great reading app.I really enjoy this app and it’s a great way to track your books. The pie chart showing the different reading moods is my favorite. One feature I think would elevate the app is an easier way to change the format of the book you’re reading. I didn’t realize at first when I searched for a book that I needed to pick the correct version, paperback, hardback, digital etc. When I finally realized it, it wasn’t worth going through and changing everything. You have to delete the book and then re add it as the other format. It would be cool if there was a drop-down to switch formats. Idk if this is even possible as I’m not a developer or tech person, but just a suggestion. Either way, good app, great tracking, and I like the way it looks..Version: 1.6

Best book-tracking appIt's a brilliant app, very easy to use with integrated dark mode. It's easy to rate books precisely and to find new ones to read. The stats and graphs are an incredible feature. It gives reading an additional fun dimension. Would never go back to Goodreads!.Version: 1.10

A No BrainerI love this app! It is simple to use and there are so many features. The app developer cares about what HER users want and does her best to accommodate them. I like that I was able to import all of my data from a previously used reading tracker. The future is bright for the story graph. Im excited for updates as they release! Oh, and two words: Dark. Mode. Thank you Nadia! 🤍.Version: 1.6

Could be 5 stars if:I only rated this 4 stars instead of 5 because on the reading challenge, it said I’d only read 2/10 books in 2023, when I’d read 12. I realised this is because I hadn’t put dates on the other 10, but I’d appreciate if, when you marked a book as “read” it automatically put the date - unless you state you didn’t read it on that day. Because of this, I had to guess the dates on the books which weren’t dated, which is kinda annoying..Version: 1.7

Favorite way to track my reading!I absolutely love this app! If you're dissatisfied with the linearity of other reading-tracking apps, Storygraph is the perfect solution!! I recommend this app to literally everyone because of the brilliant interactive features, flexibility in ratings, and the fact that it's constantly in development. While it's not as established as certain competitors and doesn't receive the same level of financial backing, the app & developer go above and beyond with innovative features that make me almost as obsessed with this app as I am with reading. Some of my favorite features include: charts tracking reading moods, genres, and more; reading challenges organized by both the app and other users; innovative ways to find books tailored to your preferences/mood; buddy reads with friends!.Version: 1.6

Great app with lots of featuresI love that this app feels like it was designed by readers for readers. I’ve been extremely happy since migrating over to this app in 2020. I love how easy it is to add books to reading challenges, and I love the DNF option..Version: 1.6

Best Reading TrackerStoryGraph is the best reading and book tracking app out there, it has everything book lovers and reviewers could want. Half and third star ratings, with optional tick boxes for quick reviews but space for longer reviews as well. Trigger warnings and other relevant information is readily available for every book and users can update these things themselves. Modern and fresh looking and simple to use..Version: 1.10

Love this app BUTMy only problem with this app if that I can’t save and favourite quotes from book I’m reading. Other than that it’s an amazing app.Version: 1.3

Forget Goodreads, get thisAfter being a Goodreads user for years, I finally got fed up of Amazon closing websites left and right (DP Review, Book Depository) and just being an overall nuisance to humanity. So I wanted to give Storygraph a try. I should have done it sooner. Importing all my info (shelves, reviews, etc.) from Goodreads was a breeze and Storygraph is more modern and gives way better stats. Plus it’s not Amazon, a really big plus. Try it, you’ll love it!.Version: 1.7

Great stats and tracking optionsLove this app, so many more features and stats than the other popular reading tracker app. My personal fave is tracking minutes from audiobooks! It’s also helpful to track countries or languages if you’re trying to read more diverse books. The app is pretty user friendly, but there are some things that require searching for and I ended up having to google a bit as there doesn’t seem to be a help or FAQ page anywhere?.Version: 1.10

Game ChangerThis app is excellent. Fills a much needed missing source for ‘content warnings’ . The ability to select specific book content that I want to avoid ( or include ) is a game changer. For example: I like the the fast pace of crime novels such as author Lee Child, including his Jack Reacher series of 29 books, however as much as I like his writing style some of the books in the series contain personally triggering topics (such as sexual assault). Topics that are not necessarily evident from reading the summary or the first couple chapters. So I end up buying a book that I ultimately cannot read. However, many of the books do not contain topics I would rather avoid and STORYGRAPH allows me to specify my preferences, create a search for all the Lee Childs books, and it then marks each one as containing or not containing my specific topics. I have also used it to select from Sue Grafton novels as well look up books suggested from various book clubs or recommended by friends and family. I have not been able to find another source even remotely comes close to the benefits this one provides. Well Done!.Version: 1.10

Best reading trackerStoryGraph is the best tracking app I’ve found so far - for the most part, it’s really simple to use, and it’s very easy to find books, update your progress, and keep track of your goals. The only downside is that adding a rating is a really lengthy progress, as it’s part of the review page. Hopefully in the future, this will be made one-touch so you can add a rating easily once you’ve finished the book.Version: 1.11

It’s really that goodI looooove storygraph. Honestly, there i no going back to good reads. Love the new layout, love the ability to DNF and . star options. One of my favourite apps!.Version: 1.6

Practically perfect!I discovered storygraph last year and while it took a while to get used to after only using goodreads for so long, i absolutely love it now <3 as someone spoiled by ao3’s categorisation system (despite hardly reading anything on there, once was enough to get used to it) i love how storygraph categorises things in a similar way with tropes, pace, language, etc. and the graphs it displays the data in are just perfect. i love how you can do reading challenges too! the only thing i can think that would make it even more perfect for me would be having word counts as well as page counts - idk much about how this stuff works but i imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to get it at least from books that have digital copies? a lot of the people i see who love storygraph are also avid fanfic readers and it’d be great to have that as a sort of way to convert between fanfic and published books - but like i said, this would just be an addition to something already perfect!.Version: 1.3

Love The StorygraphGreat app! Really user friendly, and the aesthetic is clean and nice to engage with. Most importantly, because no app is ever perfect, they are committed to and transparent about ongoing development. It really feels like users are listened to, and the developers are engaged in making the app FUN rather than just functional. KEEP GOING TSG TEAM 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.Version: 1.10

EssentialI adore this app. I use it every single day, multiple times a day, and I couldn’t ask for anything better. Right from the jump, it seamlessly imports all your GoodReads data and lets you move forward right where you left off. I’ve never once thought of going back to GR since finding Storygraph. It’s such a sleeker, more intuitive design, not to mention it allows for endless customization. I particularly like all the stats they offer and the nearly endless ways you can have to filter that information. The reading challenges set-up is my favorite, and makes every book so simple to track. This app is light years better than Goodreads in every single way, and best of all, its creator is committed to constantly improving it. Can’t thank her enough for this fantastic creation!.Version: 1.10

Love StoryGraph!I’ve been using the app since 2021. Love the challenges, book tracking and stats!.Version: 1.10

Updated review for a good app!Updated Review: To the developers, thanks for your response to my previous review. Glad you’re rising in popularity… a good problem to have! I’ve been enjoying how StoryGraph uses graphics to characterize my reading preferences, and the app is pretty intuitive and easy to use, I’ve suggested a few books that are missing from the database (such as Zadie Smith’s Intimations), and I’m interested to see if the ISBN function works to add new books. So far, I’m enjoying this app! Previous Review: (two stars on 1/4/24)I started using StoryGraph recently, as I’ve wanted to move away from GoodReads for a while. I like StoryGraphs’s clean layout and simple interface. But about 50% of the time I try to open the app, it just gets stuck on a blank screen. As I’m excitedly reaching my reading goals, my tracker isn’t working and I’m bummed! Also, when I tried to use the help function through the App Store, it consistently says they are down due to maintenance. For now, I plan to check out Bookworm, another newer app for those wanting to escape the GR review-bombing drama, but hopeful that StoryGraph will get back on its feet!.Version: 1.10

Amazing!Book lovers unite! This app is absolutely fantastic. You can definitely tell that a reader created this app. The features are so cool! My favourite by far is the partial stars for rating books. I can't imagine all the work that has gone into making this what it is. Looking forward to future updates!.Version: 1.10

Amazing personalised recommendationsAn amazing app and better than any other app i’ve used in the past😍 Could improve by adding a section with favourite quotes?? I normally put them in book reviews but all in a separate place in the main profile would be great to see..Version: 1.10

I love the StoryGraphIt’s a great way to track your reading, and has much better usability and features than similar apps/sites. The stats features and the yearly wrap-up are some of my personal favourites, but the way they do recommendations is also great!.Version: 1.10

Pretty good, but recommendations function not intuitiveI switched to mainly using Storygraph, because the toxicity to the social side of Goodreads exhausted me, and the stat and other review features are a plus. But I don’t feel the recommendations section is that intuitive. I tend to read in a lot of broad genres, but within those, I can be picky, and I wish there was a way to account for that. I loved fantasy and romance, but I’m *tired* of getting paranormal and urban fantasy romance recs, because I’m more of an epic fantasy person…with some exceptions, depending on author, tone, characters, etc. Also, I’ve definitely gotten some dark and taboo stuff that isn’t tagged as erotica (a genre I listed as “not interested” in my survey), and it happens way more often than I’d like. Also, why am I being recommended stuff I already have as “want to read?” There’s an option to not see them when doing a filter search, so why would they come up in standard recommendations?.Version: 1.3

Great reading app!The graphs are so cool and the recommendations are spot on.Version: 1.1

Hands down my fav reading tracking appI’ve been using this app for a year, and it’s been a game changer. The stats and charts cover so much more than just a number of books read. I can track over time what kind of books I’m reading and how it changes. There are *so* many reading challenges you can join, or create one just for you and your friends. Speaking of friends, the is a buddy read option that allows you to read books together in a group, but by requiring a page number for each comment it protects you from seeing spoilers by keeping other’s comments hidden until you reach that point. I also am a really big fan of how reviews are handled - there’s a star rating and option for written reviews like other sites/apps, but there’s also clickable options for moods, pace, characters and a space where you can see/add content warnings..Version: 1.6

Download this app right now!Life-changing sounds dramatic, but between StoryGraph and Libby, I’ve rediscovered my love of reading and read almost 200 books since I started on StoryGraph a little over a year ago, from finishing maybe 2 books per year before that. Multiple aspects of StoryGraph - helpful graphs or fun reading challenges helped remind me that I feel better when I do more reading than watching TV. Things StoryGraph is great at, versus other platforms you might be considering: 1. Not full of ads. Clean, pleasing aesthetic. 2. You don’t have to pay to have a useful, functional experience. 3. You can engage with the community aspects as much or as little as you want. 4. Content warnings include enough categories to be useful, and the community can submit additional warnings, which you can browse in a spoiler-free way. 5. The graphs are fun and useful in learning more about your own reading habits, and may encourage you to read more if that’s your thing. 6. It’s Black-founded and run, not owned by a certain megacorp. 7. Migration from GoodReads is easy, if you’re worried about losing your past data! Cons: It’s a newer app, with a small but incredible team, so there are some small bugs, but they’ve been incredible at responding to suggestions and adding features. The most recent redesign looks great! Thank you, StoryGraph!.Version: 1.6

It had been SO good, but is so buggy lately….I LOVE this app. But it seems to be extremely buggy lately, which is disappointing. There have been multiple times now in the past few days and weeks that I have tried to open the app and I see just a black screen after the spinning wheel. I try to give it a decent amount of time, but nothing. I don’t know what the problem might be, but I hope it isn’t a permanent thing. I use this app so much and it’s usually so good. My phone is updated to the latest iOS (maybe that is the problem, I don’t know…). Other than that, the features on this app are great, even if you don’t have Plus. I got this as an alternative to Goodreads, and I like it so much better. The rating options and stats are awesome and more thorough. I just hope whatever is going on can be fixed..Version: 1.10

Best Book/Reading App in Existence!I honestly cannot say enough good things about this amazing app. I have been using it for a couple years now and it just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love it. It hands down beats good reads or anything else like it. The data is incredible and so much fun to see about everything you read/listen to. I love being able to curate my book collection. I can always look up which books I have and even every single edition I own or have read. The categories are awesome and so useful. I love being able to track what I own vs what I borrow from the library. It is also great to be able to differentiate between physical books, digital, and audiobooks. The app is also incredibly user friendly. I could go on and on. If you love to read you have to try this app!.Version: 1.10

Amazing App that does it allI really don’t have anything negative with my experience with this app. They are constantly adding more features (even for the free version) and it feels so much better supporting an independent company. I have used this app for just under a year and I’ve won 2 book giveaways, which is really just an added bonus. Using the buddy read feature is seamless. I RAVE about this app to all of my booky friends..Version: 1.10

GET THIS INSTEAD OF GOODREADS!!!You can very easily move your read books from goodreads over to this app. Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos and he’s literally the worst person ever. Don’t support Jeffrey. Get this app instead. The goodreads app is terrible anyway and this one actually works. There’s also graphs showing you what genres you’ve read and stuff like that which is very neat..Version: 1.1

Love!Love this app still and use it regularly! Have just upgraded to the plus version. Had an idea about how it would be great to organise books we read “playlist style” like books that suit different moods, genres, different ways to cater to what people are looking for. The personalised option is great, but would be good to use more key words or features when searching! And maybe more descriptiors for when reviewing. Otherwise love the app still!.Version: 1.1

Brilliant app!Frustrating to see the recent number of lower ratings of the app as it is so good! I have used this for a couple of years now and is miles better than Goodreads. And unlike Goodreads they are constantly updating the app and listen to feedback. Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.10

FantasticIve used good reads in the past and story graph supersedes it in practically every way. Most importantly, the recommendations on Story Graph are 1000x more accurate than any other book-social site..Version: 1.10

Amazing, remember it’s a work in progress! So much better than Goodreads. The recommendations fit so perfectly with my reading habits, I love that you can give ratings by increments of 0.25, and the content warnings are a must! I also love that from when I started using the app about a year ago, a number of changes have been made to increase user experience. GR hasn’t changed once in all the years I have been using it. The developers are are a lovely little team that work incredibly hard to make meaningful updates. So if something is a not working for you, chances are there are plans to change it. Also the volunteer librarians that update the book data are truly wonderful!.Version: 1.3

Really good app , wish it had a smoother user experienceI love this app and it’s been v. helpful for keeping me on track for reading. i love seeing my friends reviews on books. it’s v. easy to post my own reviews too and i loveeeee the progress charts so much !! my only feedback is i wish we didnt have the loading screen anytime we switch pages. it makes the app seem like a slow website instead of a useful app. also constantly clicking back pages is annoying. its not smooth, it makes it seem laggy and disjointed..Version: 1.6

#1 Fan!Just want to say a thank you to Nadia, Rob, (and the third member of the team whose name I don’t know sorry) for creating and maintaining my favorite app. I switched over in January 2021 and haven’t looked back since. I’m paying for a plus membership this year and planning to finally sign up as a librarian so I can give back to this app that has added so much value for me. Even on days I don’t read, I always find a reason to open it. I read a lot, 220+ books a year in the last two years, and the metrics SG provides have been incredibly helpful and rewarding. I know social features are evolving on the app, but my favorite thing is the ability to zero in on the books with no fluff. I don’t have to wade trough reviews or spoilers to get to summaries. I don’t have to deal with offensive comments on benign posts. I don’t even have to place star ratings to leave detailed long reviews and I can annotate specific pages and quotes in my books. I custom tag my books to keep track of which I read from my local libraries, Kindle Unlimited, and my personal library. The buddy read feature is incredible. I could rave for hours and I have stood on a soapbox about it to many an unsuspecting friend or stranger. I can’t wait to see where the app goes from here!.Version: 1.10

I love this app so much!!This is definitely one of the top three most used apps on my phone and I can’t say enough good things about it. Importing all my data from Goodreads was so easy to do, the stats are unmatched, the search tools are incredibly advanced, and the ability to pick out your next read based on mood is something you can’t get anywhere else. They’ve just added a new giveaways section which is fantastic as well! I also love how easy it is to participate in and/or create your own reading challenges! There are so many great ones already on the app and it’s been a great way for me to track specific reading goals I have throughout the year. Combined with the unparalleled amount of stats they provide, I can’t think of any parts of my reading that I can’t track with this app! On top of all of this, the incredible (and incredibly small) team is so passionate and dedicated to their work on this app and it’s users. They respond to issues ridiculously fast and utilize the help of volunteer librarians to keep the book data up to date and accurate. I truly can’t name an app that I’ve ever had a better experience with overall!.Version: 1.3

Love the appBeen using the app and website for over 6 months and still finding it really great. Tracks books, allows the use of tags and content warnings, partial star ratings, picking specific editions of books, graphs and stats on reading habits- all great features of the website accessible on the app. Only one wish thing makes me miss Goodreads- wish I could have customisable shelf tags, as there are specific things I need to read for that aren’t pleasure reading and would love a way to track separately to standard reading log/read shelf. (Still vastly prefer to other reading sites despite this.) Regularly encourage others to try this site/app..Version: 1.2

Love tracking my reading list!Love this app! A delightful combination of book reading, reviews and data visualization. Super easy to use, and the tables and charts for reading progress are engaging. Plus, the “recommended” reading selections are always just what I’m looking for. I used to track my reading in a small notebook, but started using The Storygraph app in 2022. I fell in love with the pie charts and review prompts after a few months, and went back to my notebook and entered 3 years of reading history in The Storygraph to track trends in format (book, digital, audio), mood (mostly light hearted), page count, and more. I love reading reviews on this app, and use the recommendations and reviews to plan my trips to the bookstore and library. The Storygraph changed the way I record my reading, and my reviews help me remember which authors and series I want to revisit or continue..Version: 1.6

Love itReally enjoy this app. The usability is great and easy to get to grips with and I love being able to switch to different editions of the books. It’s nice to see all my book stats which is not something I ever really looked at before but now really enjoy. A must have for any book lover to keep track of their reads and never ending tbr..Version: 1.3

Big fanBig fan of this app but I do wish I could add more than 5 genres for recommendations. I read a wide variety of books and I would like recommendations for all of them. I find my self having to edit the genres often to get more recommendations. A charts feature too would be a neat thing to have, something like Letterboxd or rate your music where you can see what users rate the highest and see what people are currently consuming.Version: 1.10

Pretty good!I really like this app, and it is largely very easy to use. I do, however find it difficult to enter completion dates for books I have already finished. I also can’t seem to edit the format of the book I have read, as some are incorrect, despite the fact that I did not provide that information..Version: 1.2

Awesome! (4.5 stars)This is better than Goodreads in my opinion. The homepage is accessible and easy to navigate. I like the quiz at the beginning so that your recommendations are personalized and you can change it at any time. It is quite obvious that the creator loves to read and knows what their doing. It also has reading challenges just like Goodreads. There is stats that shows you what genre, author, mood, ect. that you read the most; which I don’t think goodreads has. Another thing that this has that goodreads doesn’t is detailed reviews. Instead of 1 star increment ratings, it’s in increments of .25. You can also fill out a checklist about the book and submit that with the review. And one of the most useful things is that if you already have an account on goodreads, you can transfer all of your information to StoryGraph. There are a few small things, though. The page count on books is always around 20 pages over what the actual page count is. And since this is a smaller reading app, there isn’t any actual author reviews or anything. This is obviously not the apps fault though. Great app overall!.Version: 1.2

How I wanted goodreads to beAll the functions I wanted in GR are present here ☺️ Also their recommendations are -chef kiss-!! I have found a lot of great books like this! I only wish the app didn't open a new window everytime I tap on a tab. While I can go back to the previous tab, if you tap on another tab it keeps building on top of every tab and becomes confusing (and wastes more of my data >_<) But it's just but a small complain :) Everything else is good!.Version: 1.4

Great app for a world that doesn’t need goodreads anymoreNot a review yet bc I just got the app but the icon is not a great sign. It’s nearly the same as the one for BOOKSHELF. 🤔 Update: After using the app for a bit I wanted to update with actual feedback. So far I think the app is clean and smooth as it should be. Not a ton of clicking or tapping around to do things. There’s plenty of thought in making certain things easy (such as tagging a book that’s in the results list of a search instead of having to tap the title and enter the book and tag it and then go back). Adding goodreads was pretty smooth (shout out to the fast customer service rep who explained to me what I was doing wrong.) Adding lots of ratings and reviews in at once could probably be more streamlined but that’s not a thing people need to do often (maybe think about what students do at the end of a semester after reading a ton of books? Some ability to mass tag and date.) The recommendations seem to be very astute. I like the ability to pick things I DON’T want to read and even mark authors as “not interest” (though books with dual authors need a specific button for each author on the recommended results page. Just bc i dislike/distrust one author doesn’t mean I have an opinion on their coauthor. They just have bad taste in friends..Version: 1.3

Love itThe app is great, i love the stats, the community section and the level of detail when rating books. Would be amazing if you could make different lists instead of just one massive to read pile. I don’t know if this is a plus feature as i’m not a member but I would love to be able to do that :) Update: thank you so much for the helpful explanation. amazing app!.Version: 1.2

Love itI love this app and its creator. So much thought has gone into it and it continually improves in really considerate ways. I’m a Pro member and I recommend it to all my bookish friends..Version: 1.8

Absolutely wonderfulThe app is so well designed i like that’s it’s independent and the content warnings feature is good thank you.Version: 1.2

Hands down the best reading app!I love StoryGraph and recommend it to all of my friends who love to read. I’m a bit of a data nerd so being able to see trends in what I read is super interesting and I love the recommendations feature. So happy to have found an awesome app, made by awesome people. Thank you!.Version: 1.3

Brilliant for book and graph loversI legit read just to make the charts more colourful. This is a brilliant app. Please use this I need more people on this. I also work in a bookstore and literally use this to find similar books, and let readers/customers know the vibe of the book (pace, category etc) I love.Version: 1.3

LOVE IT SO MUCHLove this app so much it helped me come out of my reading slump as I love looking at all the statistics as I go along. It’s so easy to navigate and you can also import all of your goodreads data across if you want to. I check the app every single day even if I don’t read. The app has had a few teething problems due to the popularity skyrocketing over new year but they were fixed extremely efficiently considering the enter app is managed by one person. I’m so excited to see what new features come to the app..Version: 1.10

Better than GoodreadsThis app is definitely made by people who read and love books. They are constantly updating and adding awesome new features. They also take suggestions for updates from their users! And you get the added bonus of not supporting Amazon and instead supporting a small indie company!.Version: 1.8

5* app to track your readingI’ve been using Storygraph for years now and recommended it to everyone I know in real life who wants to track their reading. A non-exhaustive list of things I like about the app: - the recommendations are legitimately excellent, I’ve encountered so many fantastic books through this app - there are so many graphs! You can track book moods etc. as well as numbers read - you can set a book goal and/or a pages goal - dark mode! - great community (challenges, January reading challenge etc.) - yearly reading wrap up A must have for all book lovers!.Version: 1.6

Every bookworms needs this app! This app is a bookworms dream! So simple to get to grips with and the options for data collection around your reading feels almost endless! It has so many great functions which are constantly being improved and added to! I don’t think I’ve ever experienced an app with such excellent updates and frequent improvements. I used to use G**dreads (as let’s be honest it used to dominate this market despite being completely terrible) and I can’t even begin to explain how much more I enjoy tracking my reading now I’ve moved over to Storygraph! And what’s even better is you can transfer any data across so you won’t lose anything when you make the switch! If you are a committed bookaholic download this app IMMEDIATELY! 10/10! 5 stars!.Version: 1.10

Love this appI wanted to try a new book app other than Goodreads. I figured I might find one I like more. And I did! I love the various reading challenges, the fact you can buddy read and find various read alongs, and that it can personalize whether or not you might enjoy a book. Plus I’m supporting a non Amazon book app..Version: 1.10

An app that I use every day!The Reading Streak feature keeps me logging in to the app every day to update my progress, and I really enjoy seeing the stats data and graphs going up and down. Once you get a mass of data into the app, being able to compare progress across different years really helps visualise your own personal story life! The graphs for an entire year tell an individual story of ups and down, many of which will have connections to events in one’s own personal life. But visualised as a reminder of that year’s overall story. Brilliant! So I’m constantly updating my library with new data as I acquire and organise my books, tagging books into collections, updating reading challenges, making sure everything is in tip-top shape..Version: 1.10

Fantastic appI’ve been using the StoryGraph site since the beginning as I was tired of the corporate-owned competitor (who I won’t name) and had tried other sites to track reading that didn’t appeal. This one is the best one for me because of a lack of emphasis on the social aspect, which is very freeing. It allows me to focus on reading. The catalogue is large and the team very responsive when a book isn’t listed or has incorrect details. I have no complaints about the app now that dark mode has been added. Great job everyone!.Version: 1.6

LOVE this appI’ve been using the web version for about a year and I’m obsessed so was thrilled when they finally announced the app. It’s super functional and user-friendly. The logic makes sense! I love love love all the stats. It’s the best, most reader friendly platform out there. Built by and for readers!.Version: 1.0

Fantastic! My favourite book tracking app. It has so many features and flexibility, but you can also keep it simple and just track read / want to read. It’s an independently run business, so I feel connected to the creators and coders, and have input about new features!.Version: 1.3

Great app and recommend to all!I’ve had this app for about 1.5 years now and it’s really helped me get back into reading. I love being able to track my reading and see past reviews I’ve given for books. I find the graphs really interesting too. I tell all my friends to download it and I’ve just started a book club so we can all read the books together and track our progress on the app. So good, thank you!.Version: 1.3

Great! !!UPDATED!!This is such a cool app and I, personally, like it better than Good Reads. The UI could use some work but it’s relatively easy to navigate. The problem for me is that it just stopped working after a day. When I open it, it’s a blank gray screen. I tried closing the app, turning off my phone, redownloading the app, and nothing is working. Maybe it’s a me problem but everything else on my phone is working fine. I would give it 5 stars if I could fix this :( !! UPDATED REVIEW !! I am now aware that there is only one developer and they had a bunch of sign ups and had to take it down a few times to keep it going. It’s working great and I appreciate the quick response!!! Love this app. Thanks to the creator :) <3.Version: 1.10

New kid on the block?I just realized almost all reviews are within past couple of days so there is my evidence :) The app has a simple streamlined also uncluttered interface. I like the general minimalist aesthetic which plays a big part for continued use as a new user. I am impressed with the recommendations as I have been building a small ‘library’, online or offline. The books fall neatly into the niches I am currently focusing on while bearing surprise factor to expand on my own list. This is a gem for sure. I guess it really depends on the longevity of those apps, growth potential, user base…Last Goodread replacement seems to be out of the cyberspace before I get to check it out (after I first learned about it some years ago)…At least I am a front runner for this one! So maybe share some findings, 1st, the app doesn’t stay signing in, so it’s a bit inconvenient having to type credential every time. 2nd the Current On…section is like a young adult gold mine, pretty irrelevant to my reading selection. So no idea what’s the algorithm behind… Question is if I start to add data to this, how long will they stay on? Also how good is the archive the app is searching? How solid is the search/display algorithm? The order of the search results are quite interesting….Version: 1.0

Great app!!I’ve downloaded this app around the start of this year and I love using it. However, earlier today when I went to track my progress as I had finished a book, I typed in the page number but the percentage wasn’t at 100% but I had finished the book. Where it gives you the option to change between pages or percent, I switched it to percent to change my journal track progress to 100%. After, it wasn’t giving me the option to switch from pages to percent so I was stuck with the percent and I track my progress when pages. I started reading a new book and I track my progress from every chapter but I had to edit my journal so I could change to pages but now the percent and the side doesn’t go up any. I’ve read three chapters of my book but the percent at the side is still 0%. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if it’s happening to anybody else but I hope it gets fixed. Apart from that I really like this app!.Version: 1.3

A terrific app for readers!I’ve been using this app (and the preceding website) for more than a year. It’s a terrific fit for how I like to record my reading and find new books. Unlike its Amazon-owned main competitor, StoryGraph makes sure I see the content of the book and its pluses and minuses before I get to a contextless star rating. If I want that, I can jump to it easily—but I really like getting the nuance first! In particular, I have found that certain categories of books that I adore (books with queer themes, BIPOC stories, books about women) often receive lower star ratings than their whiter, straighter, male comparators. Even though I know to account for that, the StoryGraph’s nuance-first setup helps ensure I don’t lose out on trying a great book because of those factors. Plus, you can do half and quarter stars in your own ratings!.Version: 1.10

LoveThe only thing missing for me with story graph is that we dont have widgets! Everything else is amazing 🫶.Version: 1.10

DisappointedMany credible websites credited this app with being an alternative to good reads. I downloaded it with the upmost confidence in it and was left utterly disappointed in it. I have all of the books I have read in the past couple of years in the Notes app and I just type it in. Recently I have been wanting to convert to an app, so I looked up suggestions. I began to input all of the books and it took me over an hour. And to my dismay, it had tracked all of the books but it didn’t appear in the graph, which is kind of the whole reason I wanted this over goodreads, because it can provide me with a graph. I have waited more than a week to see if it would load and it didn’t. Not worth it, DO NOT waste your time with this. There are many other alternatives which I will now proceed to download after I DELETE THIS APP. OMG IM SO STUPID I WAS LOOKING AT THE WRONG THING IM SO SRY STORY GRAPH I GAVE U A BAD REVIEW FOR NO REASON.Version: 1.7

Amazing Replacement for GoodReadsThis App is BIPOC owned and a small business. The small team made an amazing replacement for GoodReads that allows readers to track books, complete reading challenges, do read alongs, and do buddy reads. They are constantly are updating the app and everyone can see the updates they’re working on. Plus members can leave feedback about updates that are coming and provide suggestions that are actually listened to! My favourite part about The StoryGraph is the detailed reading breakdowns and ability to set multiple goals and join multiple reading challenges that users can create themselves and are easy to join..Version: 1.10

Amazing!I’ve never written a review for an app before but I had to for this because it is amazing! It gives everything you need and more. If you love books, love tracking them, reviewing them and rating them you NEED this app. The graphs showing your reading habits and the genres you’ve read most as well as authors you’ve read more frequently too. Amazing app, you defo need it!!!!.Version: 1.7

Unbelievably Good - now with Dark MoodI’ve had this app now for 18 months and it has been a game changer for me. I’m discovering books I have never thought of before..Version: 1.6

Best Book Tracking AppI have used other apps, one in particular for many years, but this app is by far superior and has become my go to. It has a more in depth review process (optional, you can stick to basics if that’s your preference!) It has tracking, updates, and it graphs so many different things about the books your reading (so much more than just hey I read x amount of books) You can add and edit books yourself, which is great when I want to add a short story from an anthology without having to say “yeah I read this 3000 page book but actually only 30 pages” There is a built in function for reading challenges, buddy reads, goals, giveaways and so much more! There are more and more giveaways being added, and hopefully more publishers and authors notice this app on the rise and join in on the fun over here too! The best part of this app is how engaging and kind the founder is! I cannot believe the work that has been put in and wish them nothing but success..Version: 1.10

Storygraph is SO good and it keeps getting better!I have been using the Storygraph for a few years now and highly recommend it. Importing your GoodReads data is easy. Do it and then forget that clunky, Amazon-owned app! The Stroygraph has a responsive to users: these are real people, who read books, and want their users to be happy. And this one certainly is!.Version: 1.7

The delight factor is highOver the last year, StoryGraph has become essential to tracking my reading progress, and I’m so glad to have an indy option. I liked it before the redesign and I love it even more now. I’m a PLUS customer, and I absolutely get $5 worth of value every month. I look at StoryGraph every day to plan my TBR. The new and look feel of the app is great. It is super clean and easy to navigate. The product team is entertaining all kinds of ideas for the roadmap, and they are small but mighty team! I was delighted to get a quick response to my feature suggestion, even if they couldn’t prioritize it just now. They really know what readers want from the data (making it easy to see how I’m progressing and engaging with my reading goals, and THEN letting me drill a bit into those trends) and social experience (NOT comment thread dumpster fire NOR a competition that alienates readers who may read at different paces and for different reasons). The delight factor is high..Version: 1.6

Love this app!!I love StoryGraph so much! It’s so fun to see reading stats and the organising to read pile functions are fab! However, I’d love for the social side to be a bit improved/more intuitive. Having friends and family on the app to see what they’re reading, but made more interactive so you can see when someone adds you, likes your book/progress, and can comment on things would be amazing!.Version: 1.3

App featureBIG fan of this site and how everything is set up. I have similar notes about updating the community section to see more of what your friends are currently reading, updates, etc. however my biggest complaint about the app is switching tabs. I hope I explain properly, but when switching to different tabs of the app (like going from home to the community page) it appears as a new page almost? And if you were to accidentally swipe right (or intentionally I guess), it takes you back to the original section you were on. It’s a small thing, but it makes the app feel less smooth for some reason. Like it makes sense for the feature to be present when you are going through things within the same tab (like searching for someone in the community section and then swiping to go back to the main section of the page) but not to move between tabs. Geez I hope that makes sense. Anyways I love what you guys have done so far! And I’m excited to see the improvements as they come!.Version: 1.10

Great for reading trackingHalf star options, no pushing you to buy books. Quiet, simple, like a library. End of the year wrap up gives you all your data with awesome graphs. Fantastic alternative to the other main book tracking app owned by a conglomerate. I ditched that other app recently and haven’t looked back..Version: 1.6

Great app!!One of the best I tried, works flawlessly..Version: 1.4

Came for the books, stayed for the statsI switched to the Storygraph in 2020 after finding an ad for its website beta app on either Instagram or tik tok! I was already getting fed up with a competitor: the interface was outdated, & new features were scarce. The Storygraph seemed like such a bright shining light, & a great companion to my reading experience. Since 2020, the Storygraph has released so many fun & exciting features, but the base of it is the same: a clean, minimalist interface with as many stats as you could ever hope for! I love the reading challenges, I love that users can search for books based on mood, pace, length, genre, etc. Finding a new book to read has never been easier! The recommendations are not my favorite, but I also do not have the Plus version, so I’m guessing they would be better with the paid subscription. & in all honesty, adding new books to my TBR isn’t really necessary considering how many I already have!.Version: 1.7

The StoryGraph is the best reading tracker app!I absolutely love using the StoryGraph, it makes it so easy to keep track of my reading and books I want to read. My favourite thing about the StoryGraph is how responsive the creators are to the users, there are always new, improved features, and they are always something I actually want and will use!.Version: 1.6

Fantastic app!I love StoryGraph! Not only is it easier to navigate, and responds quicker than Goodreads, it gives you soooo much more, including delicious data! If you’re a data nerd then you’ll LOVE this app! The stats at the end of each year is incredible and gives info on things you wouldn’t even think about, such as mood maps, comparable months and how many new authors you read for the year. You can either enter challenges or create your own with the additional comfort of making them private or public. Plus, if there is an edition of a book that isn’t on SG, you can manually input it with zero complications, effort or lag. Honestly, it’s such a smoothly run app and only fuels my obsession for books. Oh, and did I mention that they include giveaways for countries OTHER THAN THE US?! Yup! 😋🤩.Version: 1.11

I love this app!I just came across this app a few days ago and I'm already obsessed - I love seeing stats and being able to connect with friends. The only feedback I have is to adapt the review section to better suit the use of an Apple Pencil.l would love to be able to write out reviews by hand rather than typing - even better if the review section had a ‘notes' area that we would also be able to see in our book library. Other than that it's a really good app!.Version: 1.1

Excellent app with a very responsive team!I enjoy this app so much - it’s a better fit for me than goodreads. It’s easy to use and when I encountered an issue their team responded to my email super fast. And if you find an incorrect book entry in their library, there is a form to submit and their team fixes it fast..Version: 1.10

My favourite bookish appI used to use goodreads but I felt that it was too focused on the social aspects rather than tracking my own reading habits, if you like goodreads but it’s not quite what you are looking for, you should absolutely give StoryGraph a go! The buddyread function has been great for my bookclub, my habits around reading have massively improved, and who doesn’t love a good graph!! Definitely my favourite bookish app.Version: 1.10

Great way to track reading!I love The StoryGraph! It’s an amazing way to track my reading and discover new books. The recommendations are truly great and the thorough review process is certainly appreciated! I can quickly read through reviews and see if this book is for me right now as opposed to getting a third of the way through and DNFing. My one room for improvement is the social aspect of the app. On other apps like Letterboxd or even GoodReads it’s easy to see who your friends are friends with/following by going to their profile. This would make it much easier to find friends and people you know, especially with only being able to search usernames and not full names (which I appreciate!). Thanks for creating such a great app!.Version: 1.10

Only a few daysI have only been using this app a few days. I am really liking what I am seeing. I had been using 2 other apps of which for reading and book tracking and know I will be discontinuing use of one of those and have not made up my mind yet about the second one. I have watched a few videos on you tube about this app to get a better idea of how this works. Several reviewers have suggested switching from a large well know database to this one. I am beginning see why they would recommend doing that using this a few days myself. I have chosen not to name the other 2 apps, databases as my intention is not to be disparaging of the other 2. Between the 3, I am finding this to be the best for me. I will probably pay for the PLUS option when my free month expires..Version: 1.7

A refreshing changeAs my main choice of book tracking app, one of the best thing about StoryGraph is the transparency of what's coming up, the desire to get better, the way the community is involved in the process of building an app that we would all find useful...it's refreshing compared to a certain other app that doesn't do such a good job of doing that..Version: 1.10

Great app for book clubsThis is a great app for our book club that we’ve started recently. The buddy read feature works well and allows us to have spoiler free discussions on each chapter. There are a couple of features I’d like to see added though if possible: 1. Add a “Jump to” option in the buddy read discussion section. The recent change to paginate comments means it can be quite painful to get to the comments you want to see if there are a lot of them. Having to press “Load more…” 5 or 6 times is bad UX. 2. Add an option to track progress by chapters. 3. Add an option to limit everyone’s progress in a buddy read according to a certain condition. Conditions could be until every reaches a certain percentage or page count, or until a certain date. This would help us as we like to set a specific number of chapters per week to read..Version: 1.7

The best!!I love this app so much, I have always been a big reader but never gelled with any reading app as well as I have with StoryGraph. It’s so user-friendly and beautiful. I love it!.Version: 1.6

Love this app so muchI have had this app for nearly 2 years now and I love it so much. I’ve never had Goodreads so can’t compare them, but Storygraph is incredibly easy to use, I love the layout of it, and it’s constantly updating. I absolutely love the newest changes! I don’t have a single criticism and can’t wait to see how this app keeps improving in the future. One thing I think would be cool is to have the ability to see how “diversely” you’re reading, such as seeing how many books have PoC authors/main characters, or at least to see if a book is OwnVoices. Anyway, love this app so much!! <3.Version: 1.6

Must have!!I am very glad I made the switch to StoryGraph! I love the way it presents my reading data, plus the myriad of other features such as Buddy Reads. I’ve been trying to convince all my friends to transition to this tool - it’s very easy to do. If you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time!.Version: 1.6

Way more user friendly than good reads !!I love this app! I was trying to find an app that would help me get more into reading and I stumbled upon good reads. When I got that app I was severely disappointed and frustrated with the app design. It was hard to use and didn’t motivate me to track my reading in anyway. I was searching for an alternative app to get me into reading and I stumbled upon StoryGraph! I fell in love immediately! It’s so user friendly and motivates me to track my progress, not only that it gives amazing suggestions off of what you like to read. It even has different folders where you can store the books you have in your library, books you need to read, and books you are currently reading. I really love StoryGraph!.Version: 1.1

Loving the app!My friend recently recommended this app to try out and have been obsessed since then! It’s so interesting being able to view my stats on what books I read! A few suggestions to improve the app would be a function to scan the book title instead of manually searching and fixing the transitions between opening book profiles and other tabs (stats, profile etc)..Version: 1.2

Literally one of my favourite appsBefore I heard of StoryGraph I struggled to get into reading for myself after reading educationally. But now this app tracks heaps of different things and has me excited to update my books even when I finish a chapter. The buddy read mechanism is so cool. I also don’t feel like I’m unfairly disadvantage by having the unpaid version, which makes me want to pay for it more!! Just wish it had my currency to go for it. But either way, it’s an amazing app that has so much love put into it. You’ll love the yearly reading wrap ups promise!!!.Version: 1.6

Best Book Tracking AppI saw this app on TikTok and I’ve not looked back. I love seeing my stats, it really motivates me to read more. It’s also such a lovely community and the developers are really involved with the community and they actually listen to users wants and needs! Seriously if you love reading and keeping track of your books, download this app.Version: 1.6

We need the notifications!!I love it, especially the buddy read fonction! We’re a bunch of girls in a book club and use it a lot! One thing missing is the notifications!!!! We have them inside the app but no options of having a phone notification when someone added a comment 😭 Pleaseeeee let us have badges at least!.Version: 1.7

Made the switch & never looked backI don’t remember where I heard about this app, but it was an easy changeover and I’ve been so much happier with how this app works for me as a reader! It’s clean, fun, and having a user-centered development roadmap makes me feel so ~special~. I’ve converted several fellow readers. Additionally, the Plus pricing is reasonable and totally worth it in the context of my budgetary priorities. I love being able categorize books the way I really want to. And with AI products making headlines all the time lately, the machine-learning-generated “what to read next” suggestions in this app are a useful tool WITHOUT all the ethical baggage. If you’re not a Storygraph user yet, grab your library card and make the jump!.Version: 1.6

Great but buggy BUT STILL DOWNLOAD IT!!!!!!This is a super easy to use app and I love the layout! However, I find there are a lot of glitches that don’t ruing anything, but it’s just a bit annoying. I try to enter my pages read from the Home Screen, but they never take so I have to go into the add dates to do it. Also the app sometimes just doesn’t open?? It usually fixes itself after a day but i almost use this app daily so it’s annoying that this keeps happen. However (again) this is still a great app and much better than Goodreads!!!!!.Version: 1.10

Brilliant book tracker & more!I’m loving The Storygraph, it’s a brilliant app! So many fantastic features, with a beautiful & simple user interface. I love all the ways you can get reading stats, and the ability to join reading challenges is a huge bonus. Only thing I’m waiting on is a barcode scanner for scanning in my books and ensuring I’m tracking & cataloguing the correct edition. It would be a great addition to the recent new features. If you love books & reading, and looking for a book tracking app, I highly recommend this one!.Version: 1.6

Love storygraph!Storygraph is unmatched in tracking reading. I love all the data that it provides you, but more so I love that the team is constantly working to incorporate community feedback to make the app more accessible and enjoyable. Some folks were concerned given the app slowing down, but trust me as a long time user this is not a common occurrence and only happened due to the massive influx of new users importing their goodreads data. Their team is only a small handful of people, and the rate at which they address problems like this, care, and attention to quality is very clear. If you’re a reader that like to track your books, find book communities, enter into cool giveaways, and find great recommendations, Storygraph is for you!.Version: 1.10

Amazing appI switched from goodreads and have been using The storygraph for a few years now. The recommendations are spot on, easy to use and lots of new features constantly being added! I highly recommend it!.Version: 1.10

Great way to track stats and get recommendationsI really love this app. It is a great way to track your reading and see a heap of interesting breakdowns of your data. It is also a terrific way to find new books to read!.Version: 1.10

Annotate feature should be addedLove the app but should add a feature to annotate book for people like myself that don’t want to annotate in our physical books.Version: 1.7

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Such a well made, interesting app!! Never seen my reads represented visually before. Made it so much easier to find other books that i will like..Version: 1.1

A wonderful app for stats nerds!I really love this app for tracking my reading, it’s really helped me to make reading more of a habit! I love the stats and graphs available, there’s such a wide variety of data and it’s been great for helping me vary my reading. And the reading challenges are so fun and motivating, especially the January Pages Challenge which I managed to complete! I really love this app and I can’t wait to see what other cool features might be added in the future :).Version: 1.6

Best reading trackerStoryGraph is a huge upgrade in reading tracker apps - we’re not spoiled for choice, which makes it even lovelier that SG is so aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. The stats and graphs that show your reading history are pleasing to us data needs, and features are added all the time. It’s a pretty seamless transition over from the other main option out there, which is all the more impressive when you realize the entire show is run by like three people total! Nadia (founder) is super transparent too, and it’s really cool to get so much insight into her process and vision for where the app is headed next in terms of features. I’ve been using this app quite a while now & am a big fan!.Version: 1.10

I use this app all the timeI've had this app since shortly after it became available. Never had an issue with it and it's so exciting each time it's updated. I have a huge to-read list that includes books that I own and don't. Maintaining the list in Story Graph has been easy. One of the best features is being able to search my tbr list for what I'm in the mood for and can search the whole list or just the books I own. I also use the stats feature a lot. The year-end round up helped me plan how and what I want to read this year. I'm excited for the advanced stats that are in the works. I also appreciate that I can customize my use of the app. There's something here for every reader..Version: 1.10

Love it!It’s so much more user friendly and less likely to crash than goodreads, I’ve been slowly drifting to using sg only because of that. I love all of the data and stats you can track in the app, and while I hope to be able to get a plus subscription when I have a more stable income, the free version is great and still gives you a lot of features. Reading challenges are so much easier to find and join, and there’s a lot of great and varied challenges to choose from! My two biggest (and really only) gripes are that I can’t sort reviews by rating or comment on them, which are features of goodreads I enjoy. Aside from that, I would still recommend StoryGraph over goodreads, I really hope it becomes the new major tracking and review platform.Version: 1.10

GlichThis review would normally be a 5 star but unfortunately there’s a glich in the app where I updated an owned book to recently read and it doesn’t show up and register that I have completed it and it only happens with some books. Please fix this!.Version: 1.7

The best reading companion!I absolutely LOVE StoryGraph and tell all of my friends to download it. I’m a nerd for data and stats and stuff like that, so I love getting to track all my reads throughout the year. I love all the reading challenges and how easy it is to join and add books. I’m always organizing my TBR and love that you can choose different editions and select which ones you own in order to get even more data about what you’re reading. They’re always releasing new features and keep you up to date with a fun newsletter. It’s also really cool how you can add friends and see what they’re reading and their ratings for different books that you search for. I think the way you review books on StoryGraph is great too. As a mood reader, it’s nice to see if a book is “dark” or “lighthearted” or “tense” when deciding what to read next. I know this review is scattered and rambling but I just love StoryGraph and all its little details so much. ❤️.Version: 1.10

Love this appI’ve been using StoryGraph to track my reading all year through the website and it’s absolutely fantastic, so many amazing features and so easy to use.Version: 1.0

PerfectI love this app! I started using it this year as a way to keep track of exactly what I’m reading every day which it does perfectly. I also very happily use the other features including the reading challenges, community options and the graphs. I love the graphs! I’m a big fan of data and seeing the representations of my reading in this way is beautiful!.Version: 1.10

Hi, I hope the developers see this!I love the functionality of this app for myself, however I think it could use improvements in the social area and the aesthetic areas. It’s very clean and easy to read which is great, but the app could benefit from more “photogenic” layouts like letterboxd. People love sharing screenshots of their top movies or their recently watched movies paired with the movie posters, and it gets people to download the app. I would like to be able to share what I’m doing on StoryGraph in an aesthetically appealing way so that more of my friends want to get the app and join in on the fun 😃 updates to profiles so that they display more reading stats, favorites, to read piles etc. for other people would be excellent! Additionally, on the social side, it would be nice if the timeline to see what my friends are reading/adding to their to read pile/ratings/etc. was more easy to see. The updates are rather large. It can also be hard to find people, and I’m confused about the difference between following people and being friends with them? What are the differences between the two statuses? Anyways!! Love the app, great alternative for goodreads. All my critiques come from a place of love, I really hope the app continues to grow and improve and eventually becomes a more social platform for sharing and discussion because more people need to read!! And reading is fun when you get to share it 🫶🏼.Version: 1.3

Highly recommendSo good that you can import goodreads data!! saved me going through three years of books.Version: 1.10

Love it!Really enjoying this app so far, but something just seems a bit off about it? While on my laptop it’s great but it doesn’t look that good on my phone. Aside from that, I don’t find the stats tracker to be all that useful - very cool, for sure, but I would much prefer the search function to be at the bottom instead of it, or perhaps in addition to..Version: 1.2

My Favourite AppI downloaded this app at the start of 2023 to try to motivate me in my goal to read more books. I had Goodreads already but didn’t find it particularly inspiring. To say The StoryGraph helped is an understatement and I surpassed my goal of 24 books for the year. I love the recommendations, the challenges, and the ability to catalogue your books - including being able to flag the books you own. But my favourite feature is the graphs. The insight they give into my reading habits (as well as progress towards goals) is fantastic and really motivates me to read. I’m currently on Day 124 of a reading every day streak thanks to this app, and I’m going to try to keep it up through 2024..Version: 1.10

App good!!!!I love this app, much prefer it to others! great categorisation and logging features. i love my beautiful stats. only thing is, it’s a little janky. just not very clean and satisfying to use. otherwise, big good!.Version: 1.7

A Mood Reader’s DreamMy favourite app for reading tracking, recommendations and stats. The perfect platform for mood readers. I use it almost daily..Version: 1.6

A book lover’s best friendI absolutely adore The StoryGraph. Heaps of features and stats to keep you reading, user-friendly interface, amazingly good recs for future reads and super-responsive devs who you just know really love books and reading too! Their commitment to the growing TSG community shines through. Highly recommend (seriously, leave that other place - you can import all your stuff from there and you won’t look back).Version: 1.7

FabHaving been using the storygraph since it’s beta site, I am very happy to have the app on my phone “desktop” for instant access. The tabs at the bottom make it easy to find the info you’re looking for (stats, profile etc). Looking forward to how it develops in the future..Version: 1.2

I use it everyday!I use this app everyday and it’s not JUST because of the reading streak feature. This app is created for the a true lover of reading whether you like the stats you can see, buddy reads or the recommendations. If you’re using another reading tracking app you may find that not a lot has changed, new features aren’t priority and things are broken. Not with The StoryGraph! The user interface is consistent, so you don’t login with confusion—but things are routinely being done to improve your experience. It’s also not owned by a huge corporation, so you’re supporting someone who cares. There is an import feature too to help transition. This is definitely a favorite app of mine!.Version: 1.7

Amazzing. Only one suggestionAmazing app. I had trouble at first with the formats and languages so I contacted customer support through email. Amazing help and showed a step by step explanation of how to change it all. Figured it all out and hand down so good. Only one suggestion which is to link it with Goodreads if that makes sense. I update Goodreads with hundreds of books all the time; however to then go through and do it all on StoryGraph takes so much time. It would be cool if they became linked.Version: 1.6

Might be time to retire GoodReadsFinally! GoodReads has been going downhill recently and I’ve been looking for a replacement. Unlike GoodReads this app is actually optimized for phones and it even has a website too. I was so glad I could transfer all of my GoodReads info over. I love looking through all the little graphs of all my reading stats. The info on the books is so much more in-depth and let’s you pick tags, content warnings and more. You can also still add books and add more info which GoodReads has removed for the average user. This is so helpful for me since I read a lot of digital comics and they aren’t usually on these sorts of reading platforms. My only input is that I would love to put more customization to my profile like adding a favourite book to the top of my page or having a status. Having your age/gender/etc would also be fun. Having badges would also be neat to show off to friends. I can’t wait to see what else this team will bring to their app. Very excited !!.Version: 1.3

Helps me stay motivated to read!I'd fallen into a years long reading slump before 2020. I started reading again during the pandemic, but I still lacked motivation. Making an account on Storygraph really helped! If you love the feeling of checking things off a to-do list, I think Storygraph will work great for you--every time I finish a book now, I get to check it off, and I get a sense of accomplishment that incentivizes me to pick up another one. I love seeing my stats too, and learning more about myself as a reader, which helps me figure out which books I'm likely to enjoy. I also love that Storygraph shows content warnings, which help me to know if a book is safe for me to go into. Can't recommend this app enough!.Version: 1.6

Favorite tracking up BUTI love this app it’s been my go to for years, best tracker on the market. But sometimes it buffers like crazy, and it has some lagging. Recently the app hasn’t even been loading..Version: 1.10

Great AppI love StoryGraph, it is a fantastic app, however it does lose one star for the following reason; young adult is not a genre. I know I’m not the only person bothered by this. It is an age group/category not a genre and it throws off the stats that this app is otherwise so good at giving you. Please, please fix this, apart from that one gripe please keep doing what you’re doing it’s a fantastic app!.Version: 1.4

Love the stats BUT…I use Storygraph as my only book tracker — their stats feature is excellent, love all the charts and graphs. BUT i still use Goodreads for their reviews because I like being able to filter by star ratings and keywords. GR’s pagination of reviews is also more practical than SG’s endless scrolling (i always lose my place!). It’s also easier to go through a person’s shelves on GR because of, once again, the pagination..Version: 1.10

Keep doing what you’re doing!!!I LOVE STORYGRAPH!! Everyone, I urge you to MAKE THE SWITCH!! Seriously, you won’t regret it. Side note: I would love to be able to see who is following me, and would also love the ability to see a list of reviews you made/other people made on their profile. I understand that this is not really meant to be a social site, but the ability to message others and like/comment on reviews would be absolutely amazing!! This is the only reason I am still using G**dreads..Version: 1.0

Stats and filters! This app is great for organizing your books, I love that you can use filters to search for books (really handy for sorting through your TBR). There’s also individualized stats available which is a great way to visualize your reading tendencies. I love this app..Version: 1.0

Way better than good readsThis is so easy to use and I love how it does it’s recommendations!!!! I love this and I couldn’t recommend this more.Version: 1.0

I (mostly) love it.StoryGraph is an excellent alternative to Goodreads! I especially like the recommendations. You get personalized recommendations based on books you’ve read and how you’ve rated them. (GR used to have that, but not anymore.) StoryGraph also has better social features. The only improvements I suggest are: 1. automatically move books to your “read” list from “currently reading” when you mark your progress as 100%, and 2. allow custom lists/easier tagging. I’d love to be able to “shelve” my books by genre, audience, etc. more easily than typing in tags each time. A drop-down list of favorite tags to add quickly to any book would be great. Thank you for your response! I appreciate you getting back to me. One more question: how do I get to a tag page?.Version: 1.3

Best Book App!A really great app!.Version: 1.7

The best reading app out thereI transitioned from Goodreads to StoryGraph last year and it improved my reading experience so much. The app offers readers a variety of stats and features that other apps do not supply. It is also super easy to transition your whole library, so do not worry about losing your data! I would 100% recommend making the switch if you want to see various aspects of your reading data displayed visually. Plus, there was an excellent reading wrapped feature at the end of the year. On top of that, the team that runs the app is very involved with users and responsive to requests users make. This is a wonderful app. I wish I could leave more than 5 stars..Version: 1.6

Best Book App!!!This app continually gets better and better. The interface is easy to use and looks amazing! Dark Mode FTW! I love seeing what I have read, what I have listened to, and seeing how my moods change with what I am reading - this is a visual geeks' dreams come true app. I can't wait to see what the developers have planned for future updates and changes..Version: 1.6

Love the appI am loving this app! It’s super easy to use. Definitely considering moving from Goodreads I just wish the app had a section for books that you “want to buy”/ “Wishlist”..Version: 1.1

The best book tracking app!I have used a lot of book tracking apps and this one is by far the best. i love the tags feature, the in depth review options, and the recommendations are spot-on. the stats are so cool to see too! most importantly, i really appreciate how interactive the team behind this app is with users. unlike GoodReads, i know there is love behind this app and there are constant improvements and new features being added (i am so in love with the Buddy Read feature, especially!!!). the transparency is something you don’t see everyday, and i really value that. there’s a face behind the app, and it’s not just some mega corp. love supporting storygraph and will always recommend it to all of my fellow bookworms!.Version: 1.10
