Would prefer subscription over sharing modelI would prefer paying a monthly subscription for access to all of these reliable news sources rather than having it work like Facebook or the other social media platforms where people end up in their news bubble or shout at each other. I pay for subscriptions to the New York Times and Washington Post but can’t afford to pay for everything behind a pay wall now. This could be the solution. I really like the feed so far! Great work!.Version: 1.57

Best news readerOut of all the news reader, this is the best. Really good recommendations. Easy readability. Prioritizing sites where I have subscriptions is key and amazing. It also does a good job of ensuring I dont get signed out of subscription sites - that can be annoying with other news readers. They need more topic categories but hoping as they expand that list will become more exhaustive..Version: 1.58

Reader Mode Always OnLovely app which had replaced my other news readers of choice. One request, please make the “reader mode” a persistent change, the same way “auto dark mode” remains enabled until you disable it. 👍👏.Version: 1.64

The ultimate personalized news experienceI saw a few headlines saying that this is the TikTok for news articles and it’s really spot on. I’m literally attracted to every single article that shows up in my for you page. I want to read them all. One enhancement I think would be necessary would be to make it a lot easier to enable reader mode. Even better, there should be a setting to enable it by default. It’ll be a lot easier to switch from Apple News if this can be improved!.Version: 1.50

PromisingThe app is promising, and worth your time checking it out. The AI summary feature is excellent and a big time saver. There are plenty of features that I sense is missing. For example, the ability to add my own feeds, show articles chronologically, or automatically turning on AI summary. I hope more features will be added with time. It’s also great to be able to read, post, and interact with comments on articles in a centralised space. Looking forward to future updates!.Version: 1.102

Almost PerfectBest reader out there only wish it had a permanent/automatic switch to reader mode.Version: 1.76

Good start. The basics are there and the ai does seem to learn pretty quick, but features like using reader mode by default or being able to more quickly navigate to different topics would be great..Version: 1.48

Saved me from TwitterI’m young (22) and I grew up with twitter. But the constate rage-bait and inescapable political content was having a serious effect on my mental health. Twitter algo doesn’t care if you tell it not to show you political content- your gonna see it. This app saved me some years of my life twitter was taking away. I don’t tweet anymore and I think critics of this app don’t realize the social element of twitter is just a bunch of nobodies trying to get a voice, so they spark “revolutions” in order to get some clicks. Literally every time I opened twitter things like WW3/MAGA/SLEEPYJOE were trending. Drove me crazy. I really like this app. I do think a social element would help keep users on it long term, and the devs know that -they invented the clout revolution. As a marketer and dev myself I love this app. I love it so much. Way more than I thought I would. If there was a jobs sections on the site I would’ve applied I love it that much..Version: 1.47

Great News App - Reminds me of ZiteThis is the first news app since Zite that I really like (IYKYK). I have only been using for a couple of days, but so far, very intuitive and lots of articles I wouldn’t have seen elsewhere (even though publishers are similar) I have used the summary a couple of times as well, and it is good for getting a quick synopsis. I don’t like that I have to give a phone # in order to sync with tablet. But I do like that I can get personalized feed (for each mobile device) without having to give any private info. I also wish I was able to suggest my own topics for it, maybe in the future?.Version: 1.59

Lot of potentialThis app seems really great and I think it has a lot of potential. I do find the text size on iOS to be too small..Version: 1.50

Great way to browse the newsWith the recent troubles in reddit, twitter, etc. Artifact has been a great way to scroll my phone without getting mixed in with all the weird stuff that's been going on with SNS services. I wish I had more control over the recommendation algorithm but otherwise it's been serving very relevant topics..Version: 1.94

Excellent appLots of interesting content wrapped in a really nice app experience..Version: 1.51

This app ruined other apps for meIt’s like Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, and news sources rolled into one epic package that makes the Internet fun again. Obsessed..Version: 1.91

Far Better Than Tw*tree But Not As Good As Apple NewsI use Apple News for my go to news reader so I don’t see myself switching because I have Apple One and am already bought in so to speak. However, I want to review Artifact as an app. It’s fantastic. It has a clean design. It’s easy to use. The ability to add your subscriptions to it is super helpful. If you aren’t using Apple News I highly recommend using Artifact..Version: 1.54

The Best✨Love It. ❣️.Version: 1.52

Media builder story tellerSince hopping on on Artifact I’ll enjoying it more and more. And the algorithm seems to be learning my preferences quickly. As a result I’m spending more time here and less on other social platforms Great job guys..Version: 1.51

Amazing News AppArtefact is so clever and finding and bringing forward news articles from high tech, to commerce to recipes that are tailored to my interests. I love it, hands down better than all my old favourites..Version: 1.64

Really promising so farI love the way it aggregates overall and also appreciate its summary feature. And I’m glad I can use the app without an account because otherwise I would have deleted it right away. Need to add a way to sort the search results (at very least sort by most recent, ideally giving options like past day, week, and year.) Without this, it’s a pretty useless feature to me. Additional options for interests would also help… I feel like there’s a lot of missing categories. Examples: US news (not just U.S. politics), women’s health, men’s health (you have both women and men’s style, but I don’t care at all about fashion), and LGBT+ would make sense. Last, please add some documentation on how to use the app. Explaining it once during setup isn’t enough. It might seem simple, minimal, etc to you, but your average user may not be as savvy. Took me a while to try the icon for summarizing an article and that was only after finding no info in the app or online. I decided to just try it, but it would have been much easier to just have some basic info about how to use the app..Version: 1.74

Great ideaIt’s a very good app. It lacks reader view (and by default option) to have a better reading experience but I love the AI summaries. Italian content and sources would also be appreciated at some point as I’m a native Italian speaker..Version: 1.72

Excellent app, but « comments » is an annoying add onEnjoyed completely this app until « comments » have been added. Looking for an app to get informed without having to see numerous pointless opinions..Version: 1.61

Great substitute now for X/Twitter.Normally used Twitter/X for all news. This is going to slowly takeover that screen time. Only gripe is the add plague. Otherwise. Very nice app!.Version: 1.83

A breath of freshness in the news worldArtifact is heading into the right direction as of right now. The couple reviews that are on the app are complaining for the ads. Many, many news apps have this not just this one. I really like the topics that it offers and that you can personalize what topics you want. Like the UI of the app, clean and simple and I really like the reader mode. So far it’s going good and as time progresses it going to get better. Definitely would recommend..Version: 1.47

A meaningful, tailored reading experienceI love Artifact so far. I’ve been using it a few weeks. The clean layout and ability to curate your own feed has me hooked. It’s similar to an RSS feed - in that you pick what shows up, but with less hassle and from a preset source list. Artifact’s algorithm is great at curating an interesting feed to explore - full of your own interests, you’re free to weed anything you dislike right out. Compare to Stumbleupon, but with newly published content being prioritized. I would love to be able to import custom sources in the future, and add more tailored interest categories for my feed. Currently, it’s mostly mainstream media and broad topics. Hoping that Artifact will help the explore aspect of the app in the future..Version: 1.51

Great app that’s held back by publisher UXThis app is well done for discovering and honing in on news that matters to you. The major drawback is when you open an article and are assaulted with takeover ads, accept cookies prompts, and the publisher’s own promos. There’s little to no space left for the content itself. I wish as an industry we could stop doing all this. At least the app offers a Reader view..Version: 1.51

Good simplistic app for personified news feedImprovement: add more quality blogs over shallow news articles.Version: 1.107

Instant hit! This app has instantly replaced Google News for me. I find myself checking the app multiple times a day and it exposes me to news I would not otherwise see. The app is seamless and they have a number of nice usability elements such as signaling how consuming more articles helps with the recommendation engine. I have seen people talk about an idea like this for years, but I think this product gets many of the little things right and that makes all the difference!.Version: 1.47

Very nice news reader but…I want more than just a slick news reader. The UX is beautiful and minimalist, the app feels tight and powerful. As a news reader, it’s top notch. Fantastic start for the nascent company. The recommendation engine is probably just in its infancy and will be greatly improved over time. I’m very hopeful here and I think this is possibly something special… 2+ years from now. I know the recommendation engine here is actually an ML model that is learning about my reading patterns and I appreciate that the app gives me some metrics and insight into how I’m training the model. I am a little concerned about how the model was trained before me, and how other users’ inputs will affect my feed. That whole thing is opaque and difficult to predict even for the devs. Ultimately, I’m unconvinced by the app’s ability to feed me an informed narrative and provide context about any given story. At this point it’s essentially a Reddit-lite, or an RSS reader with a fancier recommendation algorithm and comments. I think that a competitor like ground.news is a better way to understand coverage of a story and is a better paradigm for understanding consensus from different viewpoints on an issue..Version: 1.57

10/10Amazing & intuitive!.Version: 1.82

Please fix the dang in-app notification badge bug!I love this app, over 160 streak, but holy crap is it annoying that every time I open it the 🔔 icon has a badge count on it and it’s always the same weeks-old activity. Please god fix this bug. Drives me absolutely insane. This bug is slowly poisoning my love of Artifact by adding additional steps I must do every single time I open the app to clear the badge!.Version: 1.98

Great app!I like the fact that the ads being shown are from the site that created the content. Good to know that I am supporting the creators of the content and not just the curators. Would like to see a “Local” section that would display stores for a given city..Version: 1.48

An innovative way for reading news, but accessibility needs to be improvedI’ve tried many apps to read news and this one is really interesting compared to the ones I’ve tried. It presents an excellent news reading experience and it keeps the reader really hooked Thanks to the use of AI. The app also hosts a social tab similar to X formally Twitter that enables users to share their own posts as well as follow other users on the platform. However, the app has some accessibility issues that needs to be fixed specially regarding the app’s usability with voiceover users. Many buttons aren’t labeled. And there’s no way for a voiceover user to access images within posts in the app..Version: 1.111

Artifact is the best news readerThe algorithm does a much better job than simply giving more of what was just read. It gives things adjacent to recent reading. Which is more interesting. It temporarily mutes sources if you’re not subscribed if you’ve reached a limit, turning it back on when the limit has passes. It handles ads better. They don’t get in the way of reading. And more. Artifact is thoughtfully crafted!.Version: 1.49

Best news app I’ve usedThis app is fantastic. It’s far better than Apple News. And it’s free..Version: 1.52

Fantastic news app!A brilliant newsreader, my only complaint is that sites with full screen cookie consent prompts aren’t able to be clicked on. If you could block them, then it’d be perfect!.Version: 1.64

Great appLove it so far.Version: 1.71

Love the algorithm - experience not so muchThis is the first news app that I can see myself actively using everyday. The algorithm feels like TikTok but for written news - it just knows what news I’ll be interested in. However, I just wish there was an option to automatically open reader view when opening an article. I know it’s probably not up to Artifact’s developers, but still if it can happen please do it! I want to keep using this..Version: 1.54

Best news aggregator you can getEasy to use, quick to learn your preferences, a great way to quickly absorb useful and topical information or take in longer-form articles - and also a good place to see all your subscribed content in one app. Highly recommended..Version: 1.49

Nice little news reader, that could be missing some functionality.Your out of free articles from this publisher so we’re snoozing them for 30 days. (Wired.com) What, no option to tell you that I have a subscription to this publisher and can read as many as I want. So that is AI for you, less control for the customer. It is in some areas where settings seem to be removed from the news app where I have issues. Hopefully these issues will be ironed out over time. Other then that, all good. More choices / settings are always better then too little..Version: 1.52

Clean UX and UII’ve been using the Artifact app for about three weeks now. I like the cleanliness of the user experience and user interface. The AI gets better and better in offering articles that you might like the more you use it (it aggregates news sources kind of like google news but it feels more personalized and offers more articles). One of my favourite features is the read mode once I open an article. That typically gets rid of all of the clutter, images and advertisements. I do look forward to Artifact providing access to more varied news sources from around the world. I don’t want to be locked into a filter bubble of western media. I want to know what the rest of the world is saying too. I would also like to see a vote up button. All in all, great news and article app..Version: 1.49

Replacing my other news apps! For an app that still has opportunity to add more features down the road this is already my main driver for news!.Version: 1.49

Great Way to Consume NewsThe best news app I’ve used so far. It learns your interests quickly and as time progresses the recommendations are just top notch.Version: 1.54

Adding Safari web view is a game changerI was reluctant to make the switch before the option to use Safari with my plugins. I didn’t see any reason to switch from Google News because if I had to look at ads I might as well stick with the Google algorithm. With this change I will be switching over to this platform..Version: 1.103

Very goodHigh quality app with good discussion, but I’d like to be able to download articles..Version: 1.83

Great AppLove, Love, Love this app. I used to use an app that rhymed with quitter for my news scrolling and this is so much better. It removes a lot of the in your face nonsense from the peanut gallery you see on social media sites and just gives you access to the information straight from the source. I just hope the addition of comments doesn’t devolve the experience once more people learn about this app, or the comment section gets as restrictive as MSN. It’s gonna be a tough balance as this app grows. But where they’re at now is great..Version: 1.58

Necessary for today!I love the idea of having a central place to just learn, read, and be informed without having to worry about joining the “conversation” around the topics. The concept is dope, the diversity of publications is dope too. An area to improve however is the experience once the user chooses an article to read. I know that’s a challenge, but with a great UX I’m the app, clicking on an article and then being hit with a terrible UX does negatively impact the experience. What could be dope is having a toggle feature to keep read mode on or off so that there can be more consistency in the experience from article to article..Version: 1.58

This app got me to actually start reading the newsI rarely, if ever, leave reviews for apps unless I really hate them, or, in this case, absolutely love them. Artifact is probably one of the best apps I’ve ever used. The AI generated feed is terrific and recommends really interesting articles that are relevant to me. I also LOVE the AI summary feature. Detailed yet concise summaries are available for every article at the tap of a button and make reading articles really easy and quick if you’re in a pinch. The developers continue to release new features every week or so, all of which are completely bug free (as far as I can tell). This app is just a joy to use and if you wish you spent more time reading the news, Artifact is for you..Version: 1.65

My new go-to for international newsImpressed with: AI story summaries, breadth of news publishers, ability to scan one story topic across a range of publishers. Don’t love: the silly ‘level-up’ badges for elapsed reading time, not being able to open a story into Safari, not being able to login to publishers I have a paid subscription with..Version: 1.75

Bring back reader mode (they did)Update: thank goodness this was a temporary oversight. The 1.5.1 beta brings this back. The UI is changed a little, but everything works as it should. Original: I’ve reverted back to the TestFlight version of the app because the debut of 1.5 took away the ‘…’ context menu that held the reader view option, as well as other important actions. Bring that back and I’d definitely call this a 5 star app. It offers a great experience, but some websites are so poorly optimized for the small screen that reader view is the only way to read their content..Version: 1.50

Great AppGood selection of articles, love the summary feature. Doesn’t have too many Ads..Version: 1.76

Artifact DeliversThe AI and interface do what Artifact said they would do—aggregate hard-news articles and opinion pieces of interest to me from across the spectrum and deliver them in an easily consumed way. With my curated Twitter lists of news orgs and journalists gone after Twitter disconnected third-party apps, Artifact is becoming my go-to throughout the day. It helps me to not waste time while staying informed. This is a very credible product and I see lots of promise that it can keep getting better..Version: 1.50

Not great on iPadEnjoying it so far but the margins are just huge on iPad. Hoping we’ll get a proper iPad version that’s full screen soon..Version: 1.54

Great start. Just what I’ve been looking for.The app is extremely efficient. It gets the news to you without any fuss. I would love a way to stay in reader mode or have a simple button press to get in and out without it sing burrows below three dots. That’s literally the single thing holding this app from being five stars. It has replaced Twitter completely and quickly my go to over traditional RSS..Version: 1.47

Looks clean and no in app purchasesPlease add support for iPad keyboard trackpad gestures to go back to list from article, etc. Thanks for the app.Version: 1.51

I like it!Kudos to the developers who created & who work on this app. It’s become my go to source for news related to my interests. The app itself has been stable for me, nothing to complain abbot. I’m looking forward to see what the futures holds for this app.Version: 1.50
